Not unsurprising given his heritage, Kishō is an incredibly attractive man. His face is nearly absent of any semblance of emotion, frozen in an apathetic state, that is until the mask cracks and finally breaks when truly amused by something. Unfortunately during such instances it is at the disparity of another, lips stretching into a cruel and wicked smile. Like all Dates, Kishō’s hair is a deep maroon and is always properly kept, accenting the beauty of his features.

He sports the signature shinigami uniform, while wearing a collared garment underneath with matching gloves to boot.

“This performance seems rather unsightly. Try flailing around on the ground like a little fish to entertain me instead.”

As to be expected Kishō exudes arrogance and haughtiness from his very pores. Outside of his family, the man looks down on everything and everyone, his fellow shinigami included regardless of their rank. This is something he does not hide, openly regarding even Captains as weaklings and fools unfit to wear the haori. Prone to voicing his opinion in a matter of fact manner, when he does speak it is always as though his opinion or perception on a matter is an absolute fact and should be regarded as such.

Confident in his strength and abilities, he is one to never shy away from a challenge or an opportunity to showcase his superiority to his inferior peers. In fact, it is this arrogance laced confidence that is the direct cause of him having changed divisions so many times. Whenever he enters one, usually after a century or so he has grown bored and tired of the lessers surrounding him, normally commenting how stale the air there has become, and puts in his transfer to a new division in order to breathe some fresh air. The cycle of him asserting his dominance and superiority amongst the rabble starting anew. It is a habit that caused many to call him the Floating Tyrant, a tyrannical menace who flowed from Squad to Squad oppressing whoever he could.

(Spirit Class 3)

Kishō boasts an incredible wealth of spiritual power. This is undoubtedly largely attributed to his pedigree, a direct member of the Noble Date clan. Still, like all Date this is but a natural byproduct of being better than others, yet it is not all that defines them. Where others of noble lineage may rest on their laurels, content with being born stronger, or more ahead than others feeling no need to prove their worth, the same cannot be said of the Date, and Kishō is no exception. Having transitioned through a total of four divisions throughout his career as a Shinigami, two of those divisions had allowed Kishō to showcase his superiority in comparison to his peers. The Fifth Division granted him many excursions to the abominable ground of the hollows, fighting the enemy on their own turf, placing him and those who traveled along with their squad at a disadvantage.

The next Division being Squad Thirteen, placing him in the lowly world of the humans, Karakura Town specifically. Being situated on a Jūreichi (重霊地, Important Spirit Ground; Viz "Concentrated Spirit Zone"), it was a homing beacon for spiritual entities to trespass, and as a guardian of the town he like others like him were charged with handling these threats. Both squads placed him in environments where his worth was constantly tested, where his skills, strength and very soul were tried by the fires of combat, and each crucible only served to prove the Date was all he proclaimed himself to be, while focusing him into a finer and more destructive force.

As if a living forge, his reiryoku burns a bright and deep orange, coursing through his veins like fire. Every strike against his reinforced body while resisting against forces still proves an inefficient shield or ward against many attacks. Yet every strike generates sparks off his frame, his reiryoku reverberating from the blow. What most are unaware of, is how each blow serves to strengthen, hone and reinforce his spiritual power, as if his enemy's strikes were a hammer, and his power heated metal being beaten into proper shape. It is perhaps for this reason, that he is prone to thrusting himself in nearly any conflict, at times bracing himself for attacks that he should, by all accounts be capable of deflecting or perhaps even avoiding.

It is a poor fool that cannot handle or control his own power, the mantra of Kishō and perhaps all Date. As great and destructive as his power is, Kishō is more than capable of bringing that power to heel. The emission and suppression of his spiritual power his to command, as easily as one might walk or speak. When he calls upon his spiritual power to rise to the surface, the surrounding temperature seems to also rise accordingly, an almost bronze tint covering his body in a type of sheen. When it comes to Kido, many of his destructive spells, the few that he chooses to utilize are greatly and perhaps unnecessarily inflated becoming unstable and volatile. While one may perceive this as a lack of control, it is actually from a lack of care.

Not one to truly give much thought to the Demon Arts, when he does make use of spell casting he forcefully pumps more power than the spell requires, turning a simple spell into a bomb set to destroy whatever has annoyed him.

Perhaps the greatest testament to his control is not the level of strength shown in his physical attacks, the power packed behind the techniques of his shikai, nor is it the speed of his gait. No, rather it is something known perhaps only by his fellow Date and even then what is known as the Inner Hand (内側手, "Uchigawa-te"), that is his ability to detect, interact with and use the power coursing through the Reimyaku (霊脈, Spiritual Pulse; Viz "Ley Line(s)") of the worlds. A feat more commonly only associated with certain high level Kido spells, Kishō is able to employ to bolster the power behind his own zanpakuto fueled attacks. During his time in the Fifth while in Hueco Mundo he was able to locate its Reimyaku, and during his time dispatched to Karakura Town as a member of the Thirteenth he was able to locate the one in the Human World, something he intentionally sought.

(霊圧, Spiritual Pressure)

For a time many have mistaken Kishō's reiatsu and by proxy, zanpakuto to be a Fire elemental type, a misconception that many still make to this day. This is in large parts, due to the effects of his reiatsu. Exerting it even a bit causes the temperature to rise, those weaker souls surrounding him begin to perspire as the air distorts from the ensuing heat haze. As his reiatsu continues to rise so too does the temperature and subsequent affects. The surrounding area and again, weaker souls seem to instantly combust, catching ablaze as if a single flame were cast on dry brush, demanding only the strongest of souls to be able to brave his presence without being reduced to ash. When stopping here, it becomes only natural that one assume the man to be of the fire type. However, should he allow his power to fully unfold, it manifests in the form of a violent eruption, his reiryoku growing dense and super heated, the ground shakes and cracks, these same cracks glowing brightly. It is in moments like these, that rather than fire, Kishō appears as a volcano, with all its destructive might.

(霊覚, "Spiritual Sense")

Kishō has noted that he doesn't particularly care about tracking down individuals, finding the reiatsu of the lessers (anyone who isn't privileged enough to have been born as a Date) to be down right repugnant, its easy to assume this means he is incapable of perceiving or tracking them. Not so, while he does not care to do so normally, does not mean he is incapable of doing so. As someone as strong as he is, he is more than able to detect spiritually powerful beings who aren't particularly hiding or concealing their reiatsu. While the nuances of their reiatsu may escape him outside the obvious differences, this is mostly because he does not care about the reiatsu of others. Instead, his skill in detecting spiritual power is largely attributed to his desire and one might even say hobby, in hunting down and studying the Reimyaku in various worlds.

(白打, White Hits; Viz "Hand-to-Hand Combat")

Kishō's hand-to-hand combat is nothing awe inspiring or praise worthy. In fact, one may rarely ever even see him employ the use of Hakuda to begin with, finding it unnecessary to do so. He has at least trained himself to a level where he is at the very least, skilled enough to parry blows away from himself, and weave away from attacks for a time. Other than this, he will only get truly hands on when abusing those he has already defeated, striking them down using his zanpakuto then, as they lay there weak and defeated, proceed to smack, strike, beat and stomp ruthlessly on the weakened soul.

(歩法, Step Method; Viz "Fast Movement")

Unlike other skilled practitioners of the technique, Kishō isn't one to needlessly make use of it. He isn't seen rushing anywhere, as wherever he has to be can and will wait on his arrival. This lack of urgency in his movements belies his skill and proficiency in Shunpo. Able to use it to evade from point-blank attacks and to instantly close the gap between himself and whatever is unfortunate enough to find itself highlighted as the target of his abuse or attack. Where others exert effort to learning and mastering other Hohō techniques, Kishō instead places all the attention on Shunpo alone. Well aware of the usage of Speed Clones, he finds one of him alone sufficient enough to deal with and overwhelm any threat or adversary, and because of his desire to constantly hone his spiritual power he does not seek any technique to substitute away from attacks. This has allowed his Hohō to grow more refined and focused on a singular skillset rather multiple ones. As a result, while still short of that of a Master one can hardly tell given the level of gaps closed in a single step, while his image also seems to abruptly vanish as he transitions from one position to another.

(鬼道, Demon/Spirit Way; Viz "Demon Arts")

Kishō does not particularly care about Kidō. It is a dislike that does not come from a lack of skill, merely a preference towards the use of his Zanpakuto and zanjutsu. Spells cast by his hand are destructive by nature. Able to cast them foregoing the use of their incantation, their power weakens accordingly. To compensate for this, when firing off the spell he will pour in more reiryoku to amplify the weakened spell to what he feels is a more appropriate level. This tends to destabilize the spell, making them far more volatile and destructive then they normally would be. Despite this instability, it is surprisingly never to such a degree that the spell blows up in his face. This is of course not a surprise to any member of the Date clan, who know that while the power jammed and packed into the spell may be unrefined and foolish for perhaps any other soul, Kishō does it in such a manner that it is always shy just the amount needed to send it over the edge and become a double edged sword, proving not only the control he has over his spiritual power but in his competency in the components of spell craft as well.

The "care" placed in destructive spells isn't placed in the binding spells. Prone to casting Bakudo casually, letting the spells weaken from a lack of incantation without a care. This is because binding spells for him, rather then being used to actually seal or lock a person in place, is meant to only add to the thrill of punishing his opponent. Very briefly disrupting their flow with a well timed and placed Bakudo, yet one done only at a level to be a nuisance, one usually able to quickly break free from the respective spell shortly after it lands. While he is more than capable of strengthening these spells, he does not do so.

(斬術, Swordsmanship; Viz "Art of the Sword")

The place where he truly shines, of the Zankensoki, Zanjutsu has always held his devotion. The Asauchi he received became the equivalent to his life, and so it was handled as such. The length of the blade, its weight and feel, its balance and handling, he is intimately familiar with all these things, conscious of any flaws found within it. Kishō is never absent of his zanpakuto, and thus never shies away from using it in any capacity, from beating and pummeling others with the sheathed blade, to drawing the blade and slicing through or stabbing into flesh, to smacking one with the flat of the blade, up to releasing the seal of his zanpakuto transforming it into its shikai state shifting the style of fighting from using a standard katana to handling a spear.

He has familiarized himself with a large variety of sword techniques. Due to the shape his zanpakuto takes in shikai, Kishō is incredibly skilled in the usage of Bōjutsu. With frightening dexterity he is able to launch attacks against distant foes with an unnatural level of precision, accuracy and strength; combing and mowing through his opponents with relative ease. To executing a multitude of thrusting attacks capable of being delivered with overwhelming strength and power in the blink of an eye, both incessantly and accurately.

Further still is his ability to modify certain zanjutsu techniques to fit the usage of his spear, rather than the typical sword shape most commonly used for these techniques, such as twirling and spinning his staff when performing Hōzan Kenbu, the technique's range extended further than it might be if used with a standard sword or blade, to being able to easily perform multiple Onibi via thrusting his spear multiple times, riddling countless holes into whatever is fixed before him. Kishō has created a technique he dubs Heaven Eater (天喰, "Tenkū", "Sky Eater"), a move that combines the principles and power of Suikawari, Hitotsume: Nadegiri, and Ryōdan into a single indomitable strike.

With his shikai, Kishō's skill in handling its shape additionally is shown as he subtly alters the placement of his grip on the spear's staff section, an act that ultimately alters the reach of the weapon making it difficult if not, outright impossible to accurately gauge just how far out his strikes will go. Suffice to say, he has mastered the usage of his Zanpakuto in all its facets, a skilled wielder of the blade regardless of what form its in.

Known Techniques:
There exists no known sword technique taught by shinigami that is foreign or inaccessible to him.

Equipment

Heaven Eater (天喰, "Tenkū", "Sky Eater")
One of Kishō's strongest and deadliest techniques. Through his mastery in Zanjutsu, he takes the power, speed, and precision of three techniques, namely Suikawari, Hitotsume: Nadegiri, and Ryōdan and meshes them into one swift and powerful strike. It is a downward stroke that focuses his strength and reiryoku into a slash that splits everything before him, bisecting everything from the earth up to the skies themselves. This causes the clouds and ground to split open. When combined with the intensity of the heat from his reiatsu it is as if a massive heated blade has cut open everything both above and below, causing a vacuum followed by a heated updraft. While primarily used in shikai, it is a technique able to be executed with his sealed zanpakuto as well, albeit a somewhat slightly weaker version.

Jigoku kuishinbō (地獄食いしん坊, ‘Hell Glutton’, “Hell Eaters”)
Special cicadas secretly bred within the compound of the Date Clan. While serving a similar purpose to the Jigokuchō (地獄蝶, Hell Butterfly) used by Shinigami, the Hell Eaters, true to their namesake, feed on their butterfly counterparts. By consuming a Hell Butterfly they are able to transfer the contents of the message over to the cicada to then be relayed to the owner of the Hell Eater with neither the previous sender or the intended recipient being any the wiser. After the message is delivered the cicada sheds its skin giving birth to what looks to be similar to the very butterfly it had consumed, allowing it to continue on to the intended recepient. Kishō has his own personal nest within the manor that he himself tends to and breeds.

The spirit of Mōshoishi is that of a horned woman with dark brown skin. Her lips painted black, while her fiery red hair flows freely and her eyes glow with all the intensity of a wildfire. Mōshoishi is without a doubt, as beautiful as she is deadly, the entirety of the dress that covers her appearing to be made up of the molten magma from within the volcano she resides in. The woman is both slothful and temperamental, preferring to rest within the warm comforts of the magma. Each time she is called upon she grows irritable and irate. The volcano responds to her anger, the tremors becoming more violent, the lava hotter and bubbling. In this regard she seems to be the direct opposite of her master who almost always appears calm and in control. Kishō finds dealing with his zanpakuto to be incredibly difficult. It seems she has some control over her size, at times appearing as a titan towering greatly over Kishō and at other times she is closer to his height.

Koshi's inner world manifests as a massive and unstable volcano, one that always seems just on the verge of erupting. Tremors regularly travel through it, stirring up the magma inside. It is inside of the volcano that he must venture, where the heat only increases. Passing through the dark and heated caverns he eventually arrives into the heart of the volcano, where magma bubbles and rests inside. From within the magma itself, Mōshoishi arrives. The angrier he gets or the more riled his spirit becomes, the more the volcano within his inner world becomes accordingly.

When releasing the seal on his zanpakuto from the release command, the ground trembles and quakes violently as Mōshoishi transitions from a beautiful blade to a long spear, the head of the spear obsidian in color while surprisingly also appearing chipped and cracked in several places, looking extremely weathered and poorly kept. This comes as a surprise to those who see it for the first time, its appearance clashing with Kishō’s refined appearance and the Date’s noble heritage.

Mōshoishi is likened to a dormant volcano. Initially it is as simple as it appears, an old damaged spear. According to Kishō, it takes a moment to stir and wake his zanpakuto. As he swings and/or twirls the spear, as it collides against an opponent’s blade or body, all of these actions serve to rile the zanpakuto, waking it from its dormant state. The surrounding temperature rises as the cracks along the spear’s head begin to glow until finally, what appears to be lava begins spurting and spilling out ceaselessly and profusely from them. Kishō is able to shape and manipulate the molten liquid as he sees fit, burning and melting nearly anything it consumes.
0a787221601ed78c62a9c460e3d13b86.png

Most may attempt to avoid the lava or even erect defences to stave off the superheated liquid, only to discover how futile their efforts are. Kishō is able to produce what he calls ‘Hot Plates’ (熱いプレート; ‘Atsui purēto’), super heated reishi plates. When slamming Mōshoishi against one of these Hot Plates an eruption occurs wherever Kishō wills it to. This means that the eruption can manifest from above, below, behind, beside or in front of his designated target. It is impossible to tell where he will target, though for a brief moment the target area glows a fiery orange an instant before the eruption, the only tell an opponent gets before they are completely consumed by the molten liquid while also being propelled in the opposite direction from the sheer force of the eruption.

The force of these eruptions is known to instantly punch holes in nearly whatever is unfortunate enough to find themselves in its range. Kishō is able to control the scope of the eruption, expanding it to cover a larger area or minimising it. Kishō is also more than capable of withdrawing the heat, cooling the lava causing it to instantly harden, serving as a powerful prison for those who have somehow managed to survive being consumed by Mōshoishi’s lava.

Chinoike Jigoku Shōshin (血液地獄焼身; ‘Blood Hell Immolation’)

Jigoku-ro (地獄炉, ‘Hell Furnace’): Kishō swings his shikai, sending out a stream or wave of Mōshoishi’s lava. The lava surrounds the target instantly, cooling and hardening, gaining steel like durability. While allies perceive it as a shelter, and enemies a prison, Kishō states they are both wrong; it is a furnace one that reacts to reiatsu. The cooled lava is only dormant, stirred back to life by the enemy’s reiatsu returning it to its molten superheated state.

Normally when activating Bankai, Kishō slams the weathered spear head into the ground, generating a massive eruption beneath and around him. The eruption expands outwards, generating an earthquake, the spear sinking into the ground in its entirety as what is assumed to be a mountain is erected. This of course is no mountain, the limbs and head giving it an almost human-like shape. Multiple cracks and fractures spread throughout the body, revealing the magma that courses through the constructed body. The magma constantly spills out from the eyes, mouth and these cracks and fractures, Kishō is generally found standing or seated atop his Bankai's head or shoulder, very rarely is he seen on the ground beneath it.

Just as his shikai is likened to a dormant volcano, Kishō's Bankai is conversely perceived as a living volcano. It possesses incredible offensive power behind every swing. Every strike and stomp from the titan is super heated, landing with incredible force and heat, even the air and winds generated from these actions generate super heated and highly pressurized air. The massive construct possesses remarkable durability, yet it of course is not indestructible by any means. Attacks launched with enough force and power are more than capable of breaching the hardened crust of the creature, causing the cracks to expand and larger fractures to appear along its body. The molten core of the creature that flows throughout its body like blood, seems to react automatically to attacks aimed at Kishō when seated atop of it, the lava rising from these cracks to intercept these attacks, erupting with enough force to destroy or calcify anything launched towards him, or flowing freely like water to wrap around and bun through the attack, weapon or person in question that has ventured far too close towards its master.

Throughout the duration of the bankai's activation, the cracks continue to spread and widen, the hardened crust periodically breaking away from the body. This may mistakenly be perceived as the bankai being on a timer of some sort, a count down until it is forced to deactivate. In reality, once enough of the shell has broken away, the bankai's second and perhaps true form is revealed. With no hardened shell to hide its form or limit its movements, the hardened construct is now one nearly completely composed of lava. In this state it is able to freely adjust and morph its body, sweeping through and incinerating whatever is in its path. It is also more than capable of expelling torrent's of lava from its mouth in concentrated streams with the force of a volcanic eruption. This focuses the destructive power on a central point, and is something the Bankai is capable of accomplishing in either form. Kishō is able to force his Bankai into its second form by inducing an eruption from the Bankai's body itself, destroying the outer crust acting as its shell.
jujutsu-kaisen-jogo.gif

Its most dangerous ability however is known as Reifunka (霊噴火, 'Soul Eruption'). Making use of the same hotplates accessible in Shikai, these super heated Reishi plates are also generated in Bankai. When generating a Hot Plate, like in Shikai an eruption occurs albeit on a grander scale and with considerable more force and power as one might expect. What one doesn't expect, is that once the eruption occurs, the lava that has erupted shifts into the shape of a limb. This limb moves to smack, punch, or grab whatever is within their reach that has of course been designated as Kishō's target. This greatly extends the reach of his Bankai, and as the hot plates are generated wherever he can perceive and his reiatsu can reach, it means that keeping one's distance from his bankai becomes irrelevant. Similar to shikai, the number of hot plates and their size and scope is controllable by Kishō.

Due to how destructive his Bankai can be its usage is generally limited. However Kishō does not believe in such limits, declaring his control over his Bankai is absolute and thus there is no need to try and impose such limits on him out of misplaced fears and ridiculous doubts.

Physical Description: Yūrei Tsukikage has dark purple hair that is spiky and wild, with a few strands falling over his forehead and the rest swept upwards and back. His intense eyes, set beneath thin eyebrows, give him a stern expression, accentuated by a prominent scar running vertically across his left cheek, and another down the right side of his mouth. His left eye appears to be blinded by the scar, this overall adds to his tough, battle-hardened appearance.

With a chiseled, muscular physique, this character exudes strength. His broad shoulders and well-defined muscles are on full display, as he often wears no shirt, only a loose, sleeveless kimono-style garment in black that hangs open. He pairs this with traditional hakama pants tied with a white sash at the waist. Bandages wrap around his wrists, forearms, and feet, completing his warrior-like appearance. Standing confidently with one hand on his hip, he embodies the disciplined and powerful aura of a seasoned fighter.

Personality:
Yūrei Tsukikage is a figure shrouded in both mystery and malice, embodying the cold detachment of a Shinigami purist. He harbors an intense disdain for the weak, seeing them as mere specks of dust in the grand cosmos—a view that he does not hesitate to express with a twisted sense of superiority. To Yūrei, those who lack spiritual power are nothing more than "whispers in the wind," insignificant beings who exist only to serve the purposes of those truly destined for greatness.

With an aura of silent menace, Yūrei walks among others with an almost spectral presence, his every move calculated and precise. Inside his mind, lies a deep-seated contempt; he finds the very essence of the powerless repugnant, likening their presence to a stain on his existence. After interacting with them, he often engages in a ritualistic cleansing, as if to purify himself from their "taint."

Yūrei's philosophy is one of stark elitism. He views the world through a prism of spiritual hierarchy, where only those with the ability to command are worthy of respect. The weak serve only two purposes in his eyes: as tools to gather resources or as fodder for the natural order. Should they fail in these roles, Yūrei is more than willing to let them be consumed by the very darkness they fear, watching with cold indifference as they meet their inevitable end.

His goal is simple yet profound: to ascend beyond the boundaries of mortality and become a true entity of the void—a being of pure spiritual might, untethered by the limitations of the physical world. Yūrei's quest for power is relentless, marked by a series of nightly rituals under the moon's gaze, where he believes he draws closer to becoming a living phantom. His every action is a step toward this ultimate transformation, driven by an insatiable hunger for power and a belief that he is destined to rule over the spiritual realm.

Yūrei's idiosyncrasies only add to his unsettling aura. The scar on his cheek, a remnant of battles past, serves as a constant reminder of his journey toward perfection, and he often touches it when lost in thought. In combat, his silence is deafening, his movements as fluid and lethal as a Hollow’s strike, reinforcing the notion that he is more spirit than man. To those around him, Yūrei is a figure to be feared and revered, a specter of power whose ultimate goal is to transcend even the mightiest beings of the spiritual world.

Reiryoku Level & Spirit Class:
Great(Spirit Class 3)/Expert Control

Yūrei Tsukikage holds a Spirit-Class rating of 3, positioning him within the “High” tier of spiritual entities. This classification underscores the substantial Reiryoku he commands, marking him as a prominent force in the spiritual realm. While he may not reach the apex of power found in those with a Spirit-Class of 1 or 2, Yūrei’s spiritual energy is still markedly superior to the average, enabling him to dominate most adversaries with ease.

Yūrei’s exceptional Reiryoku is not a result of noble lineage but rather a testament to his unique nature. He is a freak of nature, born with an extraordinary reservoir of spiritual energy that defies conventional understanding. From a young age, his immense Reiryoku set him apart, making him abnormal in the spiritual arts. His life has been a series of near-death battles, each encounter honing his abilities and deepening his spiritual reserves. This combination of innate power and extensive combat experience has forged Yūrei into a formidable spiritual entity.

Having a Spirit-Class rating of 3 means that Yūrei possesses titanic strength and devastating Kidō spells. His Reiatsu is incredibly dense, creating an aura of intense pressure that can overwhelm and suffocate weaker beings, hindering their ability to move or even breathe in his presence. This immense pressure attests to his mastery over his spiritual energy, allowing him to compress and wield it with precise control. In combat, Yūrei’s Reiryoku fuels his formidable abilities, allowing him to unleash devastating attacks that can impact the very fabric of the spiritual world. His strikes are so potent that they can shatter defenses, and his Kidō spells can obliterate targets with ease.

Yūrei has an advanced understanding of Reiryoku and its mechanisms. He is capable of using Kidō and other spiritual disciplines requiring the thoughtful manipulation of Reiryoku. His Kidō does not require incantation to function properly, showcasing his refined control. Yūrei has learned to suppress the emission of his Reiatsu, effectively evading the spiritual senses of others. He can manipulate his Reiatsu to impressive levels, enhancing both his physical and spiritual attributes to great degrees. This control affords him numerous options in combat, including physical enhancements to strength and speed, Reiatsu manipulation and enhancement both offensively and defensively, and the ability to manifest complex spiritual creations such as Kidō spells and other spiritual abilities.

Reiatsu Description and Effect(s):
Yūrei's Reiatsu is a deep, ominous shade of midnight blue, swirling with streaks of silver that resemble ghostly wisps, reflecting his spectral presence and disdain for the weak. The shape of his Reiatsu forms a menacing, ethereal cloak around him that ripples and shifts like a living shadow. As a Standard type, his Reiatsu exerts a crushing pressure on the environment, causing the air to grow cold and heavy as if the very essence of fear and despair has descended upon the area.

Yūrei’s Reiatsu has several profound effects on those around him. It can instill an overwhelming sense of fear, causing even the bravest souls to tremble in his presence. The sheer weight of his Reiatsu can paralyze weaker beings, rendering them immobile and helpless. Those caught within its radius experience intense phantom pain, as if their very souls are being torn apart, and the sudden release of his Reiatsu can stun opponents, leaving them dazed and vulnerable.

Reikaku: Yūrei possesses an extraordinarily refined Reikaku, allowing him to detect Reiatsu with unparalleled precision. His spiritual sensing ability extends far beyond the average Soul Reaper, enabling him to perceive even the faintest traces of spiritual energy over vast distances. Through his Reikaku, Yurei can gauge the power level of an individual, distinguishing between a novice and a seasoned warrior. He can also sense the emotions tied to the Reiatsu, such as fear, anger, or calmness, giving him insight into his opponent’s mental state. Additionally, his Reikaku allows him to pinpoint the exact location of a spiritual presence and track its movements with remarkable accuracy.

Yūrei’s advanced sensing ability did not come without a price. To hone his Reikaku to its current level, he underwent grueling and torturous training methods. He spent months in complete darkness and silence, deep within a spiritual abyss, forcing him to rely solely on his spiritual senses. He also subjected himself to intense bursts of Reiatsu from powerful captains and dangerous Hollows, pushing his senses to their limits. Training under conditions where his physical senses were completely blocked, Yūrei had to navigate and fight using only his Reikaku. Additionally, he endured both physical pain and psychological torment to break and rebuild his mental fortitude, heightening his sensitivity to the emotional undertones of Reiatsu.

Hakuda:
Journeyman:

Yūrei Tsukikage is a Journeyman in Hakuda, demonstrating a profound understanding of this close-combat fighting style. His body is a finely tuned weapon, capable of delivering powerful strikes with precision and speed. Yurei’s combat style is characterized by fluid movements and a seamless blend of offense and defense. He excels in using his agility and reflexes to outmaneuver opponents, often overwhelming them with a barrage of rapid, well-placed blows. Yurei’s journey to mastering Hakuda was as arduous as his training in Reikaku. Under the tutelage of seasoned Hakuda masters, he endured rigorous physical conditioning and combat drills. His training regimen included intense physical exercises to enhance stamina and resilience, high-speed combat drills and obstacle courses to improve reflexes and agility, and resistance training to build physical strength. Additionally, Yurei learned several specialized Hakuda techniques, requiring precise control and timing, further refining his combat skills.
Known Techniques:
Oni Dekopin (鬼デコピン, Demon Headpoke): A powerful flick of the finger that can send opponents flying.
Takigoi (滝鯉, Waterfall Carp): A technique where Yurei uses his opponent’s momentum against them, redirecting their attacks and countering with a powerful strike.
Ikkotsu (一骨, Single Bone): A devastating punch that can shatter bones and incapacitate opponents with a single blow.
Tesshō (鉄掌, Iron Palm): An open palm strike that can effortlessly shatter a Hollow's head with a single strike.
Tsukiyubi (撞指, Thrust Fingers): The practitioner extends the index and middle fingers of one hand in unison while they are in contact with an opponent, who is sent flying several meters away.
Sandbag Beat (サンドバッグ・ビート, Sandobaggu Bīto): The practitioner performs multiple extremely fast strikes, causing aggravated damage to a target. The technique is powerful enough to shatter a Menos Grande's mask and utterly destroy its body.

Hohō:
Master:
Embodying the essence of speed and agility. He can traverse vast distances in the blink of an eye, leaving only a whisper of wind in his wake. His unparalleled footwork allows him to evade attacks with ease, making him nearly untouchable in combat. Yūrei’s mastery of Hohō is not just about speed; it’s about precision and innovation.

Yūrei’s journey to mastery began with rigorous self-training. His regimen was intense and often self-harming, designed to push his body to its absolute limits. Without a mentor, Yūrei relied on his own determination and creativity to develop his skills. His training included extreme speed drills, where he ran at full speed through dense forests, dodging trees and obstacles with weights tied to his legs. To improve his reflexes, he practiced dodging a barrage of projectiles from traps he set up, sharpening his focus and reaction time.

Endurance training was another key component, with Yūrei running for days without rest in harsh environments like deserts or mountains, often depriving himself of food and water to simulate prolonged combat conditions. After intense physical training, he would meditate for hours, sometimes days, to center his mind and recover his spiritual energy. This practice helped him maintain clarity and control over his body, even in the most chaotic situations.

To truly understand his limits, Yūrei subjected himself to extreme pain, practicing Hohō on hot coals, sharp rocks, or even in freezing water. These conditions forced his body to adapt and become more resilient, enhancing his pain tolerance and recovery speed. Through this relentless and innovative training, Yūrei achieved unparalleled mastery in Hohō, making him a formidable force in the Soul Society.

Known Techniques:
Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash Steps) is a movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. As speed is the main factor of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps.
Senka (閃花, Flash Blossom): Yūrei can move behind his opponent in an instant, striking at their Saketsu (Chain Binding) and Hakusui (Soul Sleep) in one fluid motion. This technique is so fast that it appears as if he has not moved at all.
Speed Clones (速度クローン, Sokudo Kurōn): By moving at such high speeds, Yūrei creates afterimages of himself that confuse and disorient his opponents. These clones mimic his movements, making it difficult for enemies to discern the real Yūrei.
Utsusemi (空蝉, Cicada Shell): Yūrei leaves behind an afterimage of himself that can take a hit, allowing him to evade attacks and counter with precision. This technique is particularly useful for escaping dangerous situations and launching surprise attacks.

Kidō:
Journeyman
While primarily focused on the physical aspects of combat, Yūrei has developed a competent understanding of Kidō. His immense spiritual pressure and precise control allow him to effectively utilize a range of Kidō spells, despite his primary focus being on other traits. As a Journeyman, Yūrei is proficient in using Bakudō, Hadō, and Kaidō spells up to number 50. Yūrei’s Kidō training was self-directed, much like his physical training. He spent countless hours studying texts and practicing the incantations and gestures required for various spells. His rigorous physical training also enhanced his spiritual control, allowing him to channel his Reiryoku more effectively. Yūrei often practiced Kidō in conjunction with his physical drills, integrating spells into his combat routines to create a seamless blend of physical and spiritual attacks.

Known Spells:
Bakudō #1: Sai (塞, Restrain): Locks a target’s arms behind their back.
Bakudō #9: Geki (撃, Strike): Engulfs the target in a red light, paralyzing them.
Bakudō #30: Shitotsu Sansen (嘴突三閃, Beak-Piercing Triple Beam): Forms a triangle of energy that pins the target to a surface.
Hadō #4: Byakurai (白雷, Pale Lightning): Fires a concentrated bolt of lightning from the caster’s finger.
Hadō #31: Shakkahō (赤火砲, Red Fire Cannon): Fires a ball of red energy at the target.
Hadō #33: Sōkatsui (蒼火墜, Blue Fire, Crash Down): Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at the target.
Kaidō #12: Shōsen (小癬, Minor Healing): Heals minor wounds and injuries.
Kaidō #24: Chiyu (治癒, Healing): Accelerates the healing process of moderate injuries.
Kaidō #48: Ketsueki Shōkō (血液消去, Blood Erasure): Stops bleeding and closes deep wounds.

Zanjutsu:
Master:

Yūrei Tsukikage’s mastery of Zanjutsu is a testament to his relentless dedication and unyielding spirit. His training regimen was nothing short of brutal, designed to push his physical and mental limits to the extreme. Yūrei’s philosophy centered around the belief that true mastery could only be achieved through enduring and overcoming immense hardship. He often trained in isolation, away from the distractions of the Soul Society, focusing solely on honing his swordsmanship. Yūrei’s training involved countless hours of intense practice, often in the harshest conditions. He would spar against multiple opponents simultaneously, using weighted swords to build strength and precision. To enhance his endurance and pain tolerance, Yūrei practiced Zanjutsu while enduring extreme conditions. He also engaged in meditation while balancing on narrow ledges or atop tall poles, honing his focus and stability. Yūrei’s philosophy emphasized the importance of understanding one’s Zanpakutō on a deep, spiritual level. He spent long periods in communion with his Zanpakutō, learning its secrets and unlocking its true potential. This bond allowed him to master both the Shikai and Bankai states, making him a formidable force in battle.

Known Techniques:
Agitowari (顎割, Chin/Jaw Splitting): The practitioner bisects an opponent from the jaw down the length of their body with a single sword strike.
Byūtifuru Chanbara (一ビューティフルチャンバラ, Beautiful Swordfight): The practitioner grips their Zanpakutō with both hands and rapidly clashes with their opponent in repetitive movements.
Hitotsume: Nadegiri (一ツ目・撫斬, The First: Killing Stroke; Viz "First Strike: Mow Down"): A precision cut of extreme force and speed which can casually slice through large, multi-story high opponents protected by steel skin. This slash is so precise and swift, its victims are not even aware of it until after it has taken place.
Hōzan Kenbu (崩山剣舞, Fallen-Mount Sword Dance; Viz "Crumbling Mountain Sword Dance"): The user starts to swiftly swing their Zanpakutō around their entire body without cutting themself. The speed of this technique makes it difficult for an adversary to get close to him in order to attack at close range without risk of serious injury.
Onibi (鬼火, Oni Fire): The practitioner performs a powerful thrust with a blunt weapon, creating a large, gaping, cylindrical hole in a target.
Ryōdan (両断, Bisection): Grasping his or her sword with both hands, the practitioner brings it down with enough force to cut an opponent in half down the middle.
Senmaioroshi (千枚卸, Thousandfold Grating): Multiple extremely fast blade movements take place, shredding a target into pieces.
Shitonegaeshi (褥返し, Cushion Return): Aims to subdue an opponent and immobilize them on the ground using coercion alone. Urahara suspends the tip of his cane millimeters from his opponent's face after he has already struck them down.
Suikawari (西瓜割, Watermelon Splitting): A two-handed, overhead slash that cleanly and precisely cleaves an opponent's head in twain.

Zanpakutō Name: Kagehime (影姫, Shadow Princess)

Zanpakutō Spirit: Appearance: Kagehime manifests as an ethereal, regal figure with an aura of mystery and elegance. She stands at an imposing height of 6 feet, her presence both commanding and graceful. Her long, flowing hair is a deep midnight black, cascading down her back like a waterfall of shadows. Her eyes are a striking silver, glowing faintly in the darkness, and they seem to pierce through the very soul of those who meet her gaze.

Kagehime’s attire is a blend of traditional and otherworldly. She wears a flowing kimono made of shadowy silk that seems to absorb light, adorned with intricate patterns of silver and dark blue that shimmer like stars in the night sky. The sleeves of her kimono are long and wide, trailing behind her like wisps of smoke. Around her waist is a silver obi, tied in an elaborate knot that resembles a crescent moon.

Her skin is pale, almost luminescent, contrasting starkly with her dark attire. She wears a delicate, silver tiara on her forehead, embedded with a single, radiant moonstone that glows softly. Her movements are fluid and graceful, almost as if she is gliding rather than walking, adding to her spectral and otherworldly presence.

Personality: Kagehime embodies the essence of shadows and the moon, reflecting both their beauty and their danger. She is calm and composed, exuding an air of quiet confidence and wisdom. Her demeanor is often serene, but there is an underlying intensity that hints at her immense power and potential for destruction.

Kagehime is fiercely protective of Yūrei Tsukikage, seeing herself as both his guide and guardian. She is highly intelligent and perceptive, often providing Yūrei with strategic insights and advice during battles. Despite her regal and composed exterior, she harbors a deep disdain for weakness, mirroring Yūrei’s own philosophy. She believes in the survival of the fittest and has little patience for those who do not strive to improve themselves.

In her interactions with Yūrei, Kagehime is both a mentor and a partner. She pushes him to harness his full potential and to embrace the darkness within him. She speaks in a soft, melodic voice that carries an air of authority and wisdom, often using poetic and cryptic language to convey her thoughts.

Kagehime’s loyalty to Yūrei is unwavering, and she shares his ambition to transcend the limitations of the physical world. She is driven by a desire to see him become the ultimate being of spiritual might, and she will stop at nothing to help him achieve this goal. Her presence is both a source of strength and a reminder of the darkness that lies within, urging Yūrei to embrace his true nature and rise to greatness..

Zanpakutō Inner World: Kagehime’s inner world is a vast, moonlit landscape, perpetually bathed in the soft glow of countless stars. The ground is shrouded in a delicate mist, with ancient, twisted trees and luminescent flowers adding to the ethereal beauty. At the heart of this realm stands a grand, shadowy palace made of obsidian-like stone, surrounded by tranquil gardens and reflective pools that hold the secrets of those who gaze into them.

The atmosphere is cool and crisp, with the faint scent of night-blooming flowers and the occasional whisper of the wind. A river of liquid silver winds through the landscape, sparkling under the ever-present moon, whose phases reflect Kagehime’s mood and power. Shadows in this world are alive, shifting, and moving with a will of their own, symbolizing Kagehime’s control over darkness and her ability to manipulate it. This serene yet powerful realm serves as a place of reflection and strength for Kagehime, always ready to guide and protect Yūrei Tsukikage.

Shikai Description:
No physical change occurs.

Shikai Special Ability:
When Yūrei activates Kagehime’s Shikai, Kagehime's ability becomes active. The primary ability of this form allows Yūrei to swap his position with that of a targeted person or object upon striking his Zanpakutō against any surface. This ability provides Yūrei with unparalleled tactical flexibility, enabling him to evade attacks, reposition himself for strategic advantage, or place an enemy in a vulnerable position. The swap occurs instantaneously, making it difficult for opponents to predict or counter his movements. This ability is particularly effective in close-quarters combat, where rapid repositioning can turn the tide of battle.

Bankai Description:
“Kagehime no Yoru” (Night of the Shadow Princess)
Upon releasing Yūrei's Bankai, the entire battlefield within a large radius is cloaked in oppressive darkness, with an artificial full moon casting an eerie glow over the area. This darkness is not just visual but also affects the senses, making it difficult for enemies to perceive their surroundings accurately. This transformation is accompanied by a dramatic change in Yūrei’s appearance. His attire becomes a flowing, shadowy cloak that seems to merge with the darkness around him, and his eyes glow with an eerie, silver light, reflecting the moon above. The Zanpakutō itself elongates and takes on a more ethereal form, appearing almost as if it is forged from pure moonlight.

Bankai Special Ability:
Yūrei’s ability to swap positions is greatly enhanced in this form. He can now target multiple people or objects, swapping their positions at will. This includes not only himself but also allies, enemies, and even inanimate objects. By striking his Zanpakutō against a surface, Yūrei can trigger these swaps, creating a chaotic and unpredictable battlefield. This ability allows him to control the flow of combat, protect his allies, and disorient his enemies. The sheer versatility and scale of this power make Yūrei a formidable opponent, capable of turning any situation to his advantage. The striking of a surface is not a necessity for this ability, adding to its unpredictability and strategic depth.

Early Life and Rise to Power
Born in the Soul Society in the year 1438, Yūrei Tsukikage was a prodigious talent from a young age. His spiritual pressure was immense, and his mastery of combat styles set him apart from his peers. By the age of 20, in 1458, he had already made a name for himself within the Seireitei, known for his cold detachment and ruthless efficiency.

The Eternal Summer
During the Eternal Summer, Yūrei served as a high-ranking officer in the Gotei 13, his skills and power earning him respect and fear. However, the peace and prosperity of this era did not align with his personal philosophy of strength and survival of the fittest. He viewed the era’s tranquility as a breeding ground for weakness and complacency.

When the mysterious deaths of the Central Forty-Six elders plunged the Seireitei into chaos, Yūrei saw an opportunity. However, the rise of the Tsunayashiro and Shihōin houses, and their subsequent control over the Seireitei, did not sit well with him. He viewed their methods as corrupt and their rule as a perversion of true power.

Self-Imposed Exile
Disillusioned by the political machinations and the false trial of Commander Kin Yamasaki, Yūrei chose to distance himself from the Seireitei. He retreated to the farthest reaches of the Rukongai, where he could continue his quest for power without interference. During this time, he subjected himself to brutal training and self-harm tactics, pushing his body and spirit to their limits to grow as a Shinigami.

The Great Degradation
As the Seireitei fell into disarray and the Rukongai descended into chaos, Yūrei remained in the shadows, observing the downfall with a cold indifference. He saw the suffering and crime as a natural consequence of the weak being unable to fend for themselves. His disdain for the powerless grew, and he became even more reclusive, focusing solely on his transformation into a being of pure spiritual power.

The Murders of the Captains
The recent murders of three Gotei 13 Captains did not go unnoticed by Yūrei. While he had no direct involvement, he saw these events as further proof of the Seireitei’s decay. The accusations and distrust among the Divisions only reinforced his belief that the current order was doomed to fail.

Present Day
Yūrei Tsukikage’s attention was drawn back to the Seireitei by the rise of Tarō Date, the Captain of the 11th Division. Hearing of Tarō’s similar outlook on the role of the weak as mere cogs or gears in the grand machine, Yūrei saw a kindred spirit. This alignment of philosophies compelled him to re-enter the fold, seeking out the 11th Division and its captain, aiming to be its lieutenant.

Yūrei’s return is marked by a renewed sense of purpose. While he continues his nightly rituals under the moon, his focus is now also on the potential alliance with Tarō Date, seeing it as a means to further his own goals and perhaps reshape the Seireitei in accordance with his vision of strength and order.

Physical Description:

IMG_3250.jpg

Personality: Hyoroshi is a durable, diligent man with a classical working-class mindset: get the task done and get it done well, regardless of the circumstances or the obstacles. Indeed, there isn’t an ounce of entitlement or prideful pretenses in his bones; he detests the kind of evil that recognizes itself in the mirror, that knowingly sows chaos with its own consent. Inversely, he values most of all the universal virtues–those who demonstrate honor, humility, charity, honesty and the like are swift to earn Iwamura’s respect and faith, even if that individual were an enemy in active combat. As one may expect, he can be quite contemplative due to this constant evaluation, sometimes to a fault. It is not out of the question for a pause in a conversation to hang for a couple too many seconds, or for him to glance at someone slightly longer than appropriate.

This does not mean Iwamura is reserved or aloof. Quite the opposite is true, as his forged-in-fire background has granted him not only a great understanding of how people operate, but has allowed his worldview to remain grounded and informed. When in public he can always be seen interacting with and supporting his fellow Shinigami, whether it be through making light of himself to cheer someone up or pitching in with a menial task typically reserved for rank-and-file squadmates.

At his very core is an endless hunger for self-improvement that drives him to distance himself from the connotations of his appearance. In line with this core tenet is his stark aversion to combat for the sake of itself–in his view, a commitment that lowers its participants to their most base elements. Should he have to raise his Zanpakuto, he remains stalwart in fighting with honor, restraint and respect. It is a philosophy that, at least to this point, he has served well.

Reiryoku Level & Spirit Class: Great (Spirit Class 3)

Hyoroshi Iwamura’s inordinate accumulation of Reiryoku is the direct result of centuries of refining, channeling, and rigorous sculpting of the latent strength afforded to his kind, at first in secret from even his Clan and later as a Shinigami; and by his status as one of several sons to the Head of the enigmatic Wolf Clan. The latter had passed on the ability to produce Reiatsu, though the exact nature of how such a pool could develop remains a mystery to Iwamura. It is a mystery that will likely never see an answer, for he was promptly and unanimously disowned by the Clan upon his declaration that he would abandon “his worthless vanity” and venture into the world as an adolescent.

Following his departure but before his eventual enrollment into the Shin’ō Academy, Iwamura had unwittingly developed into a vigilante of infamous renown in the furthest, most squalid districts of West Rukongai. There was regression, intensely so–without any support or meaningful connection with others he sank himself into his own nature, being prone to frequent bouts of rage and holding onto a severely rotten view of others as he floated from village to village. Yet he had always managed to point his vices at those who needed the harshest punishments, given that these thugs and criminals were those taking up arms against him. As a result, word of this Beast-Man had swiftly spread from the rare few that had managed to escape from Iwamura’s bloodbaths; villagers in the area, though nervous if this Wolfman had any true boundaries, still quietly lauded the downtick in violent crime. His impromptu campaign in West Rukongai came to a head when, at the 3rd Ward of the 78th District–home exclusively to a hub of gangsters, fraudsters and outlaws–Hyoroshi Iwamura systematically slaughtered upwards of 350 people and set ablaze more than 70 percent of the entire Ward, all on his own. On that day, there were claims that the smoke plumes from Iwamura’s flames were seen as far away as the 75th District. From here, the rest is history–history to be explored further.

Needless to say, Iwamura’s physical strength is capable of rivaling many Captain-class combatants. Though his titanic stature keeps his agility and long-range endurance low, his experience and keen instincts in battle combined with a dense, well-refined Reiatsu pool grants him a shocking level of swiftness specifically in close-quarters combat. Indeed, he is the epitome of a Human World tank; easy to pick on from a distance yet hard to properly incapacitate and devastating when up-close.

IMG_4781.jpg

Reiryoku Control: Journeyman

Though Iwamura is capable of great feats of physical and melee prowess, he can still very much be considered jagged around the edges where it concerns the harnessing and manipulation of his own Reiryoku and Reiatsu. He can struggle with properly suppressing his Reiatsu, and his Kidō may misfire if he's not giving a spell its proper attention. Nevertheless, of the solid Reiryoku control he does possess, his physical attributes take heavy priority.

Reiatsu Description and Effect(s): Hyoroshi’s Reiatsu is Light Blue in color, taking the shape of wispy flames; it is naturally Elemental, capable of instilling fear and a phantom burning pain. At maximum intensity it is able to set surroundings ablaze that are within Hyoroshi’s arm’s reach, inflicting 1st-degree burns to any who remain in that range.

Reikaku: Iwamura’s Reikaku behaves similarly to a normal Shinigami’s, but is notably more acute as a result of his lupine-augmented senses. With his enhanced hearing and smelling, Iwamura is able to, while concentrating, “smell” and “hear” specific attributes of a person and their surroundings, granting him the ability to keenly track targets. This lower threshold causes Iwamura to experience increased alertness and wariness of his surroundings, not unlike how animals behave before the start of a real-world earthquake.

Hakuda: Expert

Of the four Shinigami fighting disciplines, Iwamura is most devastating with the hand-to-hand skills of Hakuda. Advanced technique, honed by almost two centuries of experience and training, has granted him deceptively astonishing speed in unarmed combat. When combined with his already-monstrous physical strength, Iwamura is capable of sending a formidable opponent flying hundreds of yards with a single well-placed, full-strength hit; most standard Hollows and even some Gillian, by comparison, can be physically blown apart by that same hit.

Known Techniques: Ikkotsu | Sōkotsu | Tsurigaki | Tsukiyubi | Kagamibiraki

Ability Name: Shishino Kyoei (Beast’s Vanity)

Ability Description: Hyoroshi condenses his Spiritual Energy into wisps of flame that hover upon up to four claws. From here, he can either slash the air or thrust his arm forward, causing the condensed flame to release from him in either a slashing arc or a puncturing beam. Each wisp can only injure one target per arc/beam, and cannot continue onto additional targets. In either case, they travel for fifteen feet and inflict minor 1st-degree burns. Should they hit nothing, they dissipate into nothing following their travel time.

Hohō: Journeyman

Though Hyoroshi continues to hone his Shunpo, currently capable of carrying him moderate distances, his bulk combined with his combat tendencies keep him from adopting any further Hohō techniques. He prefers to use Shunpo in quick, short-distance bursts to blitz his opponent(s), adding a layer of unpredictability to his immense physical strength.

Known Techniques: Shunpo

Kidō: Journeyman

Though Iwamura is an apt performer of Kido spells up to level 50, he is rarely seen using these techniques–in his own words, “instinct can bring me to draw my fist or my Zanpakuto long before a single word of Kido can be uttered.” As such, Iwamura prefers to use Bakudō and Hadō only when there is a clear and obvious use case of a given spell.

Known Spells: Enkōsen | Sekienton | Sōkatsui | Byakurai

Zanjutsu: Expert

Alongside Hakuda, Iwamura’s fighting style employs heavy, advanced usage of the Zanjutsu school; this is the discipline of fighting he has dedicated the most time training in. As a sword-user since his days as a West Rukongai vigilante, he is capable of freely blending Zanjutsu and Hakuda techniques together to devastating effect, though this complex weaving tends to only occur in dire circumstances or when Iwamura wishes to end a fight quickly.

Known Techniques: Onibi | Ryōdan | Shitonegaeshi | Senmaioroshi

Indomitable Constitution / Bestial Durability

Iwamura is able to tank multiple hits of an attack and remain battle-ready where a normal Shinigami of the same proficiency would be felled by a single strike of that attack.

Herculean Strength

Iwamura’s physical strength rivals and can even surpass those of Captain-class level; with great effort and on occasion, he is capable of certain feats only the Human World’s fictional superheroes are able to replicate.

Lupine Senses

Iwamura possesses enhanced senses of hearing and smell. Beyond augmenting his Reikaku abilities, he is able to pick up on distant, faint sounds and miniscule scents.

Unarmed Expert

Iwamura, leveraging his strength and constitution, is a devastating unarmed combatant, capable of obliterating rank-and-file opponents in single strikes if he wished to.

Rapid Melee Fighter

Iwamura is capable of employing astonishing speed in close-quarters combat, allowing him to keep up with and hold his own against more nimble, agile adversaries.

Zanpakutō Name: Boukuno Kibakigane (Sovereign Golden Fangs of the Tyrant)

Zanpakutō Spirit:

zan_spirit_v4_smaller.png

Kibakigane and Iwamura are two sides of the same coin; where Iwamura is resolute, respectful, charitable and conscientious, Kibakigane is flippant, haughty, self-serving and prideful in all things, even against Iwamura. Meetings with Kibakigane often go nowhere; the spirit finds no reason to give anything up for Iwamura unless there is an explicit, material benefit to itself in doing so. It was only when Iwamura eventually relented and granted some of his Zanpakuto’s desires--thankfully nothing too degenerative or transgressive--that Kibakigane saw fit to provide his name, thereby granting Iwamura a Shikai release. Oddly enough, Kibakigane is quite libertarian in how Iwamura uses him, so long as he isn't trying to break the sword.

Within his Inner World, Kibakigane is often sitting on a grandiose throne of obsidian in front of a vast banquet spread in a ruined Japanese temple. The food and drink appears static, never altering in any way, and Iwamura has never seen Kibakigane take as much of a nibble or a sip of anything. In the rare instances Kibakigane has moved, it has been either to lounge in a regal, opulent sleeping quarters that betrays the decrepit exterior of the realm, or to stand outside in front of the temple's main stairway.

Zanpakutō Inner World:

IMG_4925.jpg

Iwamura’s Inner World consists of the ruins of a Japanese temple within a wide, shallow valley. The realm is eternally twilight, with charred, war-torn trees dotting the landscape; bones and skeletons are intermittently strewn about on the approach to the temple.

Shikai Description:

Ram-Dao.jpg

Shikai Special Ability: Kattō Gokuji (Strides to Hell) -
Continuously spinning the blades via the chain connecting them, Iwamura is able to increase the heat and volume—and thus the damage—of the flames generated from the blade. This growth follows an exponential curve; gradual and limited at first but compounding and accelerating with each full revolution of the blades until eventually, they are capable of disintegrating targets on contact. Stopping the spinning plateaus the intensity of the heat until the spinning starts up again.

While this spinning occurs, if the blades strike any physical structures or hit their target, fiery, glowing-hot chains shoot from the site of the strike that can be guided by Iwamura to strike or wrap around the target. These chains increase in heat at the same exponential rate as the blades and scale in lockstep with them; if they spawn when there have been 5 revolutions, the chains possess the heat of 5 revolutions.

Kamisori Kanbugui (Acrid Razor Ward) – Using the flames of his Shikai, Iwamura can create a large, dome-shaped, jail-like structure made of thick black chains with spacing like jail bars. The chains spin on themselves as if they were chainsaw teeth; each link of the chain is covered in multiple spiky protrusions that slice into and flay flesh on contact. The chains’ defensive strength is equivalent to Bakudo 50.

Character Relationships: Shizukana Kurayami

Shizukana is the closest thing to a parental figure to Hyoroshi, the only one of her kind. Willing to lay down his life for her, she is the one responsible for pulling him from his monstrous, crazed stupor following his rampage in the 78th District of West Rukongai. It was from her persistence that he was able to see the truth of the world and, under her guidance, enrolled in and worked through the Shin’ō Academy, eventually joining her Fifth Division upon graduation. Iwamura sees each day as an opportunity to pay off the life-long debt he’d accrued to Shizukana from that momentous encounter, bit by bit–though she may not reciprocate that sentiment.

The constant doting and petting isn’t exactly a negative to Iwamura, either…

Notable Features: At first glance one could easily tell that he was blind due to his milky white eyes and his youthful appearance often have people mistake him for being experienced. However, observation of Shichi could vary if one would acknowledge how many swords his zanpakuto had been divided into even while in its shikai or sealed state. He carried two of his blades on his left hip and one on his right. There is also a Raven with light gray eyes that can be found hovering over Shichi's location or on his shoulder; he created a bond with the black bird by nursing it back to health through his reiastu creating and accidental soul bond.

Personality: Despite having a troubling past Shichi, is a very high-spirited young man with a kind heart. However, it doesn't take much to set trigger his anger due to him having a short fuse although he does still remain in control of his action and would rather get into brawl before having to draw his blade against anyone despite being a highly skilled swordsman. Seven was a soul reaper that hated death but took the job as he knew ultimately, he could help prevent many more by taking up arms, before every kill he apologizes to his target before making the kill.

Reiryoku Level: High Spiritual Power

Shichi's is youthful shinigami who's spiritual power has great potential however failing to reach his peak; the young man often holds himself back through self-doubt. Despite his insecurities the young man is blessed with high spiritual power that has yet to reach its full potential. However, Shichi, constantly continues to hone his spiritual and physical prowess hoping that maybe one day he may surpass his limits and get one step closer to achieving his personal goal.

Sensing Reiryoku Master

After learning to sense reiryoku Shichi made it his primary goal to expand his overall sensory abilities. By utilizing his sensory abilities, he can determine not only the features of those around him, but he can also make out the terrain around him familiarizing himself with the surrounding area, so that he may use his agility as he sees fit. Shichi uses his reiryoku as an extension of his mind, allowing him to see the images his eyes cannot and does so constantly allowing him to identify anyone within in his sensory range; Shichi can perceive most threats from a great distance allowing him to make the decision to stay and fight or if the threat is too great for him to deal with personally.

Shichi developed his sensory abilities to the point where he can detect the slightest of movement. When he discovered how to utilize Reiraku (霊絡, Spirit Coils; "Spirit Ribbons") Shichi, experienced what it was like to see for the very first time. This technique led to a younger seven seeking out other ways to advance his spiritual perception, first honing his ability to detect even the slightest movement a target makes. He refined this ability to the point where he could easily detect heartbeats, emotions, and intentions through a targeted individuals Reiryoku within a particular distance. His very keen at discovering familiar and unfamiliar spiritual pattern and can easily detect when changes accrue, this aids him in being able to determine if one is friend or foe. He is capable of applying and coating a targeted area in his reiatsu so that he may get a visual through his sensory of his surroundings.

Reiryoku Control: Great Control

Schichi's control over his spiritual energy is far beyond that of an average soul reaper. He can manipulate it with ease allowing him to produce kido spells nearly flawlessly without reciting their incantations. He is even capable of temporarily projecting his spiritual energy to different locations in order to throw off one's perception leading them away from his true location disrupting their Reiryoku Sensory. Shichi is capable of distributing and controlling the flow of his spiritual power to augment his abilities and kido spells with almost little to no effort while ultimately avoiding being fatigued. If he wanted to, he could personally disguise his reiryoku signature making it nearly impossible for and individual to find him.

Reiatsu: Specialist

Reiatsu Colors: Gold

Reiatsu Shape: Fox

Reiastu Effects:

Lacerating (Phantom Pain): Shichi's reiatsu feel like a blade cutting and tearing into the flesh of those who cannot withstand his level of power, acting like an extension from his very own body that reaches out cutting an individual into a thousand pieces, his reiatsu is powerful and refined like a well-honed blade. It seems as if he can naturally cut and slice through an opponent in mere instant. He is capable of cutting down weaker opponents without lifting a finger striking fear into the hearts while the suffer a hollow pain.

Reiastu Type: Standard

Zanjutsu Level: Expert Swordsman

When it comes to wielding a blade Shichi, is one of the deadliest swordsmen; capable of wielding three swords at the same simultaneously to deliver a ferocious onslaught of slashes. Shichi can wield three blades by holding a sword in each hand and one in his mouth or just simply swapping between each blade between every attack catching them midair using pure speed leaving little to no time for a single opponent to find a weak point in his offense. When combing his skills with Kagami's techniques Shichi can have a near perfect offense and defense set up. He's even capable of channeling condensed spiritual energy projectile attacks from his blade.

Despite being a blind child Shichi's adoptive father forced him into wielding his very first blade, the old man was very passionate about carrying on his legacy, passing on his three-sword style better known as Sān dāo liú (三刀流"Mito stream") to someone he deemed worthy. Most would wonder why a sword master would choose a blind child to teach sword techniques; however, the old man had been a blind swordsman himself. He would go on to each Shichi how to use a blade like it's an extension of his own person. Unlike most who initially begin training with a Bokken (木剣"Wood-Sword") Shichi was compelled to start his training with a real Katana. His adoptive father put the young man through some rather intense training any slip up could result in sudden death, Shichi with often return home with new cuts and bruises luckily thanks to reiatsu effect there would never be any scars come morning; however, the memories of the feeling would never go away. Mostly having to relying on his sense of hearing as he was training, he even developed a specific skill that allows him to determine what type of sword slash is coming by the way it slashes through the air. As he developed the ability to read swords slashes it became easier for him to avoid and parry, however his training was still incomplete as the old man had many tests and would often sometimes refuse Seven and his sibling's meals if he hadn't completed the training by the end of the day.

Shichi's first test consisted of him cutting down a tree with a single strike utilizing a bokken. A young Shichi would pull the unexpected and gain his father's favor by cutting down the tree with a single attempt. However, that moment was just the end to a new beginning. Shichi found himself training his other siblings despite being the youngest he was also the most talented. During these training session Shichi had already moved onto dual wielding using his katana and bokken to attack and defend while training his siblings who all had a single Katana. Shichi would use his past experience from training with his adoptive father to easily defeat his siblings who were also quite proficient with the way of the sword however they were no match for Shichi's Niten Ichi-Ryū (二天一流; “Two-Sword Style”).

It didn't take long for Shichi to master dual wielding while he still early in on in his youthful years, there wasn't a single day that he went without wielding a sword.

Santoryu Ogi: Ichidai Sanzen Daisen Sekai (三刀流奥義"Three Sword Style") is a unique and rare fighting style where the practitioner wields three katana at once and has been used by a small number of sword master. When first learning how to grip a blade between his jaw Shichi, struggled to adjust to the style but eventually overcame the difficulty by strengthening both his masseter, temporalis, and medial pterygoid; each are muscle in the jaw that functions around the jaw closing. Learning to firmly grasp a sword in jaw as if it were a third hand. As a final test he had to face his own master in an epic battle that was not only physically but also mentally challenging, that one duel also carried on for several hours until Shichi could come up with a strategy to outsmart someone that already knew all of his moves and attack patterns. Sadly, he was forced to use this new tactic to not only take the life of his master but avenge his siblings that was mercilessly slaughtered by their own adoptive father for failing to meet his expectations.

Zanjutsu (斬術, Swordsmanship; Viz "Art of the Sword")

Known Techniques: Senmaioroshi (千枚卸, Thousand-Page Wholesale),Hōzan Kenbu (崩山剣舞, Fallen-Mount Sword Dance; Viz "Crumbling Mountain Sword Dance"), Ryōdan (両断, Bisection), Hitotsume: Nadegiri (一ツ目・撫斬, The First: Killing Stroke), Hōzuri (頬摺, Cheek Stroke)

Shikaiten (死回転, "Deathspinner"): This move can be performed by some of the nimbler combatants. The practitioner leaps at the opponent whilst forcing one's own body to rotate at extremely high speed. With the sword positioned in an appropriate manner the user can then exploit that motion to cleave a single, or even several enemies simultaneously, within an instant.

Bōsekishi (紡績死, "Spinning Death"): The practitioner performs a series of circular slashes all the while spinning toward the enemy. As opposed to a more mundane approach toward offence, this technique sacrifices some speed for the sake of less predictable trajectories and considerably increased impetus.

Shikuiki (死区域, "Killzone"): A demanding but extremely lethal manoeuvre that involves a metaphorical tempest of lightning-fast slashes. In doing so, the practitioner produces the so-called "killzone" within the reach of one's sword. Anyone or anything caught within that area is nigh-instantly torn apart in a vicious series of strikes.

Chirimakiri (塵魔切り, "Dust Devil Slash"): A preliminary move where the practitioner performs a sudden swing with the sword, preferably from a small or medium distance, targeted at the opponent. The ensuant potent gust of wind which may carry dust, sand, dirt, or foliage, can momentarily blind or distract the enemy. Then, the swordsman strikes within the following instant.

Hohō Level: Shunpo Expert

As a blind swordsman Shichi is quicker on his feet than most would expect however Shichi is very precise with his footwork and is very light on his feet; he's also very flexible and has agility that can rival that of an Olympic gymnast. He's developed his shunpo technique to where he covers great distances in a single step and can do so simultaneously with little to no effort at all. When training to hone his footwork Shichi, had to rely mostly on his sense of hearing to anticipate attacks due to his lack of sight meaning he had to be more precise and cautious or else one slips up the young lad could have easily gotten injured. He even developed the ability to combine shunpo with agility while bouncing between reishi plates to circle around his opponent covering all angles with after images.

When using shunpo Shichi is exceptionally fast and can maintain high speed movement for an extended period of time without getting fatigued. Although he may not be a master, he is capable of keeping up with one effectively; with only a single step Shichi can cover several meters within the same second. With the proper footwork he can even make his after images appear as if they were the real deal charging head on for an attack. When developing his shunpo he focused on foot placement and weight distribution, this did not only increase his speed but also overall endurance as it took less effort to move at high speeds using a proper movement form. He also learned to control his breathing between each usage which made it easier to focus on the surrounding area while utilizing shunpo. Shichi picked up in Shunpo with ease as he already had previous experience when developing proper footwork when training with his adoptive father to learn Santoryu Ogi: Ichidai Sanzen Daisen Sekai (三刀流奥義"Three Sword Style"); both styles of training combined amplified Shichi's overall speed and potential as a shinigami.

Hohō (歩法, Step Method; Viz "Fast Movement")
Known Techniques: Utsusemi (空蝉, Cast-Off Cicada Shell; Viz "Cicada Shell"), Speed Clones

Hakuda Level: Hakuda Combatant

When in close quarters hand to hand combat Shichi, relies mostly on his footwork as he is trained in two different martial arts styles, Judo and Capoeira. Shichi his body to fit the two styles so that he may be flexible and nimble enough so that he can properly mimic his sensei's techniques. He learned these styles to help defend against bigger opponents utilizing their own momentum against them or to unleash a devastating barrage of kicks simultaneously. Mastering two of many martial arts styles Shichi knows he still has a long way before he could call himself a Hakuda Master. However his attack speed and power are beyond that of a basic shinigami, he is capable of producing multiple attacks in succession within a matter of seconds. He is even capable of throwing much larger opponents by shifting his momentum and with the correct positioning he can use a targets attack to either slam the to the ground or toss them a few feet.

Shichi is also capable of taking out lower level Hallow with just his bare hands and can be as deadly without utilizing a bladed weapon. He is capable of dealing a barrage of attacks straight out of shunpo in order to increase his overall striking power or even to chase down an opponent that was sent flying away. Shichi is well versed in hand to hand combat he is capable of switching between armed and unarmed attacks to gain an edge in battle; when combing attacks while swapping between his Capoeira and Santoryu Ogi: Ichidai Sanzen Daisen Sekai (三刀流奥義"Three Sword Style"), Shichi can channel a flurry of attacks simultaneously one after another. The endless flurry of attacks provides little to no openings as he is capable of using almost each part of his body as a deadly weapon.

Hakuda (白打, White Hits; Viz "Hand-to-Hand Combat")
Known Techniques:

Spinning Flash Kick: A Hakuda technique where the attacker turns upside down and performs a rotating straddle split to deliver multiple kicks to nearby opponents.

Kidō Skill Level: Kidō Specialist
Kidō (鬼道, Demon/Spirit Way; Viz "Demon Arts")

Shichi's has a rare talent for when using kido spells and picked up on it rather quickly but favored mostly the bakudo spells as it complimented his defensive fighting style. Unlike most who had time to study incantations thanks to being able to read, Shichi honed the few spells that he did know increasing their proficiency and casting time, eventually he learned to cast most lower-level spell without reciting their incantations as he became more familiar with the flow of energy needed to cast the spell. Whenever he uses kido spells without their incantations are slightly weaker but still contain fire power to be considered as a threat. The red head shiningami may have not been kido master but was able to master a specific spell known as Shakkahō (赤火砲, Red Fire Cannon; Viz "Red Flame Cannon") which he favors and can easily cast the spell from one hand consecutively, between each discharge there is a small-time gap that is slightly under a second before the next shot. He spent half a century honing the individual spell to perfection despite already being very proficient with the technique. However, Shichi had a long way to go before he could still call himself a kido master as he only memorized a few other bakudo incantations for defensive purposes.

Seikūken(制空圏): A Seikuken is a Skill/Ability that utilizes the practitioners combine their spiritual energy and pressure to create a spherical barrier with the radius of their arm or blade length. Within the Seikuken the spiritual pressure is ultimately controlled by the user allowing them to control the area within the barrier's radius. This technique also temporarily buffs the user's spiritual pressure while within the radius the longer it is active and if one cannot withstand the pressure within said barrier other than the practitioner, will find themselves losing momentum or completely brought down to their knees. However, this technique requires the user to be calm and have a clear mind or else the technique would be impossible to use.

From the very moment he was born Shichi was unable to see anything, unfortunately his eyes were unable to perceive any form of light. As a child he often cried because of it until eventually one day he went numb. Shichi began to ignore everything around him until one day a man came along and adopted him. This man was none other than the master of three sword style professor Ma. One would ask why a sword master would go by the title of professor; the old man's mind was just as sharp as the blades he wielded. Upon his adoption Shichi also became Professor Ma’s new apprentice, they often train from sunup to sundown. After a few decades Shichi had become Professor Ma’s number one disciple, earning his adoptive father's favoritism along with his eldest sibling of the adopted children; he was finally able to meet his adoptive brother Ichi (-”one”) who at the time was training to become a soul reaper. When the two finally were able to talk alone he was able to find out what happened to the other siblings that didn’t gain Ma’s favor and why he gave them numbers as names.

A few decades had passed after Shichi discovered the truth about his adoptive father, but he would also keep it a secret that he knew about Ma’s sins and continue his training to become a master of the three-sword style. However, everything changed when the professor brought in a new disciple. Shichi began to wonder why this child was brought back after he had gained his father's favor, he worried if he would’ve suffered the same fate as his deceased siblings. He would eventually get to meet with Hachi (はち”Eight”) and the two immediately bonded as if they were long lost siblings. Hachi was very shy until she was able to get comfortable around people then she would tend to be energetic and entertaining. After a few months of training, she was brutally murder by Professor Ma as he cut off her limbs in what seemed to be a single stroke of blade. This triggered an outburst from Shichi as he immediately drew his sword against his own adoptive father with the intent to kill, unfortunately this event took place before Shichi he had entered Shino Academy meaning he was only able to rely on basic senses such hearing, smell, and touch. The battle was completely one sided wielded with Shichi on the defense until his eldest brother Ichi stepped in sacrificing himself while crippling Ma. With his brothers help Shichi was able to finish off Ma and ending his reign of terror preventing him from being able to slaughter anymore innocent souls.

After the passing of his remaining siblings Shichi, had begun to wander aimlessly around the soul society running only off survival instincts for an entire year. When he finally stopped grieving, he decided to enter Shino Academy despite being blind he proved to be at the top of his class becoming a soul reaper within just a few months by exceeding in zanjutsu, kido, and overall spirit control he passed the academy’s expectations with ease. However, upon becoming a shinigami Shichi, began to hone his spiritual skills to daily, discovering his zanpakuto along the way, Kagami no Genjitsu (鏡の現実 “Mirror of Reality”) a very feisty but caring spirit and can inspire almost anyone to be happy. However, she dislikes having to do so as her power requires one to be at peace within themselves, so that they can remain calm and wield her immense power. Once he acquired the ability to freely travel between Kagami’s inner world, he’d often meditate in his free time there because it was the only place he’s able to see. The red shrine resembled that of one of the goddesses Inari shrines being surrounded by cherry blossom trees and stone foxes. The shrine's ground was also surrounded by a golden lake that gave off a unique golden glow as if the sun was shining from underneath the water.

Ever since the day he was born Shichi was unable to perceive light which ultimately resulted in him being blind. This often made him cry as an early youth as he was often scared of what he couldn't see, until one day he eventually felt empty. No one would help the poor blind child; he was alone until he was eventually adopted by the master of the three-sword style. This man was also known as Professor Ma, many questioned why a master swordsman would go by a title such as professor; it was due to his mind being as sharp as a blade itself. The old man not only adopted Shichi and gave him his name, but he also immediately began training his new disciple. Within a few decades had Shichi had already mastered dual wielding and begun his training for mastery of Santoryu Ogi: Ichidai Sanzen Daisen Sekai (三刀流奥義"Three Sword Style"). After impressing his adoptive father, he was able to earn his favor and be welcomed into his sanctuary. There he finally got to meet the eldest of Professor Ma's adopted children Ichi, he too was an orphan child with no one to look after him. Ichi was also a profound master of the Three Sword Style. The two siblings immediately developed a brotherly bond. At that time Ichi was attending Shino Academy and was a few months away from graduating.

After surviving through that one unfaithful night, Shichi had gone on to graduate becoming a shinigami

Any responsibility that may hinder her forward progress she has a habit of delegating off if possible to preserve time for concocting. Her tendencies blur the line between a proper medic and the common experimental focus of the Shinigami of the Twelfth. If the stone had skipped along the water a few more times, she may have found their barracks her home, but instead she elevates her other skills in a way that is better suited to a medicinal focus.

Fuu was raised into a small grouping of families that spanned influence from within the outer reaches of the Rukon District and all the way back into the sacred walls of the Seireitei. Their involvement in events large and small were done in secret, only acting as a means to further drive their underground influence. The organization of the Torikago is nothing but a name to most, a whisper on the wind, a mere chirp if you would. The bogeyman that hides under your bed. Though strange phenomena, sudden shifts in political influence, and shifts in finances sometimes seem all too coincidental that familiar names seem to be involved. The leaders of this coupling of clans exist in seemingly name alone, masked behind aliases, with their forward facing hands being that of the children raised to take up arms. Fuu was one of these kids, trained to act in the name of control, tasked with contributing to the creation of the perfect set of drugs to spread on the streets while they were trained for other means. Though eventually Fuu had slipped away from the machinations of the shadowed families, at least enough that she could guide her own path. Her closer involvement with the Gotei 13 cemented her liberation, as she became 'too close' to those that could crack down on the Torikago. But whether or not their plans still included her in some way, who would know?

Personality:
Fuu has always been a bit odd in the eyes of her childhood peers. Growing up under strict structure, emphasis on secrecy, and maintaining appearances - she has a master class in wearing a mask. Though her colorful and loud persona clashed with those lessons, making her feel trapped in a cage of her own persona. Her enlisting among the soul reapers gave her the out she needed to be her truest self. Though it turned out all those years in the shackles of her family's dealings, made that bottled up spirit overflow. What may have been more reserved and withheld with proper growth, instead became a scattered flurry of paint splatters upon a formerly clean wall.

Fuu acts almost seemingly on impulse with a lot of her day to day actions, preferring a more curious and playful approach to things. To some this can come off as a ray of light while others may be off put by such behavior. This somewhat intense behavior does hide some layers of deeper emotions but she is not ignorant to them, she instead just chooses not to dwell on them. She also has a hyper-fixation with good scents and like a dog can tell things just by how something or someone smells. A flex she has done as a party trick is replicate recipes used in meals or perfumes just off of the scents present and the intensity of them in the mixture.
a6f1571e5079fece70a6d117906829a7.png
Despite her rather impulsive behavior in moments of peace, in the presence of a truly dire matter or a combative scenario - Fuu will hone in on details, engage with precise actions, and act with true intention... That being said, she may not appear to do so. On one hand she figures what fun would it be to drop the energy to be super serious and on the other it's a tactic of sorts. Keep your friends and enemies guessing.

In the face of crisis, Fuu remains steeled. She isn't bothered in the slightest by pressure and instead takes it as a means to thrive. Some of her greatest moments of clarity come from crisis. Whether that is self imposed restrictions, time constraints, or genuinely harrowing events.

Reiryoku Level & Spirit Class

Immeasurable
(Spirit Class 1)
The very thing that was the catalyst for Fuu's liberation from her family's underground dwellings was the power that flew through her. They had kept her for so long under lock and key with heavy discipline on allowing herself to be 'noticed', the usage of varied seals, and even going as far as making sure the room she slept in was lined with suppressing materials. Like many of the other children raised into the Shiratori family, she was a living experiment all in a ploy to further the invisible threads the Torikago had woven. Her generation was born of the merger of hand selected gene sources from influential and powerful lineages, acquired through varied means throughout recent history.

The origins of which would be indistinguishable at this point as they had all been mixed, modified, and tailored to reach different results. The better the results the more the organization could place figure heads within powerful positions, though they made a miscalculation with Fuu. Their hard fought and instilled conditioning to her persona did not stick as well as they had planned, turning her into an uncontrollable asset. Though rather than resort to extreme measures, they kept her under lock and key to potentially find another use for her in the future. She would have remained caged if not for one of her siblings conspiring to break her out. In its success, she was freed, and when cornered out in the open by her family's enforcers - an outburst from her led to the attention of the Gotei 13 being turned honed in on their position.
The Shinigami that tracked the source of this overwhelming bout of spiritual energy found a blood-cast scene. Several corpses scattered about having succumb to self inflicted injuries, a few with bludgeoned skulls, and one particular body that laid next to a knelt Fuu - her own sibling and savior. His body run through from behind by a blade that was absent from a scabbard of one of the bashed bodies. The only living face among this massacre was her, with ichor-laced tears running down her face. The investigating foot soldiers had then found her former cage, a subterranean room laced with enough seals one might think they were hiding an illegal weapon. It was evident given what little decorations, the attire she wore, and the scene that she was likely what they were keeping hidden away.

5a940f39a5250e3f31150e30e71a0561.png
It was here that a new chapter started for her and her story could truly begin. A soul bred into being from a mission of shadowed figures trying to play god. In the end, they created a beacon that would draw the eye of the Gotei 13 to their machinations. While also giving them a rare potential soldier with spiritual power in a class not often seen. She started here a path of rebuilding herself in a way that was her own.

Fuu exists within Spirit Class 1, having reserves of spiritual power that many would deem beyond fathomable to most Shinigami. Her cultivated genealogy leading mostly to this, as well as her heavily enforced training back with the Torikago and later her enlistment in the Gotei 13.

This well of power traditionally has amounted to as much opportunity as it does hardship. All eyes settle on someone like her, a potential asset and a likely curse. In certain hands this could be abused but Fuu sought nothing more than to just help in the way she knew how. Joining the Fourth was a means to that end, allowing her to use her power not necessarily for just furthering more bloodshed, but to be one woman Kaidō powerhouse.

Reiryoku Control:
Circumstantial
unnamed.png

(Mastered Control with Restrictions / Expert Level without Restrictions)

Through her own discipline and the usage of a set of sealing earrings (the Ōgon no Kiba [黄金の牙, Golden Fangs]), she can maintain a masterful authority over her Reiryoku reserves. This bestows her with the ability to efficiently reinforce her physical actions and enact surgically precise Kidō spells. Where her body may lack in some level of outright sustainability, her usage of her spiritual power makes up for. Her approach to weaponizing her Reiryoku lies more in the means to 'create' rather than outwardly destroy, an approach often contrary to someone in her shoes.

Fuu spends a majority of her time dancing between apothecary experimentation and her duties as a medic, though she always finds time to weave in drills to put herself under pressure. Whether that be through physical means or in the mechanics of Kidō-crafting, she thrives under the routine and stress. This habitual workout being both a game of progression in her skills but also in how many ways she can creatively throw herself into the inferno.

While under the sealing of her gold-clad accessories, Fuu makes a great spokesperson for the importance and display of moderated actions. Remove that component, however, and her management becomes sloppier. Normally she has a well designed dam in place to help guide the flow but with these restrictions lifted, the cracks begin to show. Where she does not lose all sense of her self and her training, it does become considerably harder to moderate at her usual proficiency. The influence of her Reiatsu becomes more untamed, her spell weaving more unruly, and her ability to conceal her presence wholly is underwater. In this state, she is more likely to be able to achieve bouts of unbound power, but at the cost of their cohesion falling apart a bit, especially the higher she ascends in the complexity of spells or actions requiring restraint. Kidō of greater levels benefit from the boon of increased output but will benefit less from her finesse.

Reiatsu Description:
Euphoria
unnamed.png

Fuu's Reiatsu subjects those in its presence to experience an unyielding state of euphoria. The almost suffocating degree of bliss that transcends anything those afflicted by it have experienced. The further the gap between her and another is, the more almost unbearable this elevation feels. Everything is so great under her influence. Life is grand, the sky is so unbelievably beautiful, the way the wind touches one's skin is ecstasy, everything is just... pure opulence. For some this might just simply feel amazing, for others it may be a psychedelic experience that is wholly distracting, and for others... for others it's as if nothing else could compare. The line between paradise and hell is indistinguishable. This is the best anything will ever feel so why not just... end it here? Just take that blade on one's hip and put a stop to having to experience the world without such a sensation ever being achievable again?

The sensory overload that is given to those who fall under Fuu's presence is a weapon in its own right to those who can not outpace being bewitched. One might call this a detriment to have on a team if she did not have such a fine honing on its expulsion under normal parameters. Under the right circumstances this euphoria could be used as a numbing agent, distracting the mind of those under her care or emboldening those needing that extra boost in the midst of combat. Inverting the line of dread on its head just by sheer influence.

Reikaku: Fuu has exceptional ability to recognize and decern sensory information. She can not only detect faint sources of spiritual energy across long distances but she can even access the type of source and even the individual if she is familiar with their specific energy. She can lock in on sources and track them down with ease, even going as far as being able to snapshot where an instance of spiritual energy may have been briefly before disappearing. The state of the origin can also be understood by her, that meaning potentially the emotional state or physical state of the associated. Fuu has also somehow subconsciously merged her sense of smell with her usage of Reikaku, making her aware of certain 'scents' present to Reiatsu. This causes a strange occurrence where sometimes she can even smell the scent of another's spiritual energy on those who recently interacted with another. It is a weird quirk to some but one that allows her to gather information in a whole new way.

Hakuda: Journeyman

676d69d078bddd723871fcf79828e625.png
Fuu has a decent understanding of hand to hand combat, though it was never really her focus. She dedicated her application of Hakuda towards mostly defensive or counter focused methods rather than that which would be used for initiation. She can pack a rather surprising punch given her level of spiritual power but as a directly offensive approach her application may be a tad lacking outside of those fueled with raw strength.

However, in regards to defensive usage, she has become thoroughly familiar in methods of deflection, blocking, and displacing her opponents. Using her keen mobility, flexibility, and strength to instead protect herself and create openings for an approach from one of her other skills.

Explosive speed is at the forefront of what Fuu is capable of. She is as coordinated with her footwork as a career dancer, being able to not only exert raw speed but do so in a way that she can lace the movements of her legs to amount to unpredictable results. If someone were to rely on the pacing of her footing or the origin of their sound, they may be offset by her irregular patterns and floaty step. Fuu is capable of making the most out of her movements, minimizing the work in doing so while retaining the intended result. She especially excels at this in shorter bursts, allowing her to be incredibly slippery in close quarters combat as she can continuously thrust herself about with little a toll on herself. Pairing this with her peculiar way of sometimes moving, it makes for a rather unpredictable opposition.

Kidō: Master
unnamed.png

ed8112baf735d0c930bb886ea5703e61.png
Kidō is the technique within the Zenkensoki that Fuu excels at the most, making use of it in any way she can apply. From her personal day to day, to the shifting tides of an active battlefield. She finds it to actual be beautiful as not just a tool but almost like an art form. The versatility that spell work has is unparalleled in her eyes to anything else, discipline and innovation being its only real limiters.

Fuu has a bountiful amount of spiritual energy at her disposal to weaponize into well constructed barriers, offensive spells, and most importantly Kaidō (回道, Turn Way). Fuu's love and aptitude for the Demon Way is known plain as day among her peers, almost to the point that it may be annoying. She is fluent in the usage of techniques such as Eishōhaki (詠唱破棄, Incantation Abandonment), Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, Twofold Incantation), and Kōjutsu Eishō (後述詠唱, Spoken-After Incantation). Part of her frequent drills involve practicing these three techniques consecutively with harsher restraints on herself to add more pressure to herself.
In the application of healing arts, a staple of her profession, she can stabilize herself or others even in the heat of battle. This goes even as far as being able to mending a grave wound while still occupied by another action, allowing for her to prolong fights and mitigate the severity of her state, something that is important for the usage of her other abilities. She has even developed a unique method of healing that acts something more akin to an act of stasis, holding someone's injuries in a place of suspension.

583981cfcf33f8f0256aa0962fbe84d0.jpg
This gives opportunity to even use it as a means to prolong an opponent's life to properly interrogate them before dispelling the application and making them succumb to their injuries. Fuu can also heal multiple targets at the same time with of course decreased individualized effectiveness.

In the approach of direct combat, her high degree of spiritual power allows Fuu to pack a considerable punch behind her barriers, binds, and attacks. She can curve an otherwise unimpressive ability into a fantastic one for the moment while adding a little extra 'oomph' to the spell. Though as a person she has a preference for precision over raw unchecked vigor. Burning more fuel to potentially overwhelm a threat is not as effective in her eyes as instead honing in on a specific weakness and capitalizing on it. Not to mention the collateral damage that can be wrought from careless reinforcement.

Known Spells: Fuu knows all known Bakudō (縛道, Way of Binding) and Barriers, Hadō #1-#88, Hanki (反鬼, Reverse Demon), and Sentan Hakuja (千反白蛇, Thousand-Coil White Snake), Noren Mekuri (暖簾捲り, Curtain Stripping).

Custom Spell: Kyū no Hōsoku (9の法則, Rule of Nines)
The practitioner laces exposed blood with spiritual energy before causing a reaction that leads to the sudden and violent combustion of its source, effectively acting as if the blood itself was an accelerant for a flame. This technique can be utilized as a projectile on expelled blood or even triggered on stationary deposits on something. The flames conjured will try to track their path back to the source if there is one connected to the fluid, making this incredibly dangerous if the fuel source trails back to an open wound. The fire from Kyū no Hōsoku's usage is hot enough to cause considerable physical harm and can't be snuffed out by suffocation or application of a water source.

Custom Spell #2: Kōsui no Kisu (香水のキス, Perfume Kiss)
The user of this spell breathes inward before blowing outward a fragrant pink mist that overtakes the intend area in an instant. The cloud that is form has an odd property making it act in a rubberized way, despite being a vapor. In turn, snaring the target within a stretching and molding mass. This peculiar barrier seems to intensify parts of it when subject to physical force, making it harder and harder to breach it by this method. Should the barrier be penetrated the cloud will burst and subject those inside and in the nearby vicinity to a rush of fierce concussive force.

Swordplay is the second most fearsome practice honed by Fuu. Using her thorough knowledge of biology and distinctions between different spirit bodies, she tailors her bladework to the target with surgical precision. An unassuming gesture with her weapon could become the difference between an opponent still having two arms or not. Despite having a rather large weapon for herself, she is able to swing and maneuver it as if it was nothing more than a knife. Even going as far as to being able to move it around in unconventional ways such as guiding it along her own body, alternating her grip, or using other parts of her body as the contact to guide the attack. For the most part her fighting is rather conventional but she has learned how to treat her blade as if it was another type of weapon entirely. In making use of her flexibility, agility, and keen reflexes she can let her playful nature shine in her Zanjutsu.

Her precision with a blade that she could easily make identical cuts on multiple targets, down to the depth, length of the severance, and anatomical positioning. In a flurry of swift strikes the illusion of one cut being applied to all enemies could be the only explanation for such a degree of work.

Fuu has gone as far as to spar with people with different types of weapons to apply her brand of bladework in each circumstance. Polearms, chained weapons, clubs, projectiles, other blades, you name it she has learned to utilize he blade in some way against it. If its a battle of clashing steel, she is equipped with a familiar instance to apply in that moment. This goes even as far as being almost completely subconscious. Her reflexes can carry her through so many martial exchanges while she functionally tries to devise a concrete end to the fight.

Known Techniques: Fuu knows all known Zanjutsu techniques.

Ōgon no Kiba [黄金の牙, Golden Fangs]: Specially crafted sealing tools that take on the form of a set of gold earrings resembling an omamori. They each function to lock off a fourth of Fuu's innate power to give her better control and keep her power within safety restrictions. They can be unsealed individually or at the same time, to amount to the desired amount of overflow. The removal of one or both of these devices also triggers a signal back to the Seireitei that has modifiable intent behind it.

Carbon Wireframe Wrappings: Laced within Fuu's attire is a set of specially constructed metallic wrappings that can be utilized for a multitude of purposes. They are sturdy enough to intercept attacks, wrap around targets, and even hold things together. They are greatly resistance to electrical and thermal forces acting upon them but are conduits for spiritual energy, allowing them to be used to guide it along a path. They appear and move as if they are just standard cloth, but collision with other metallic substances might produce sparks, revealing the true nature of the material.

Perfumer's Vials: Fuu carries on her a small assortment of containers that house aromatic substances. Some of which are just things that smell pretty nice, while others have actual functions. She has access to a potent toxin, a flammable concoction, and a numbing agent. All of which are scented beautifully, one might not even guess they might blow up!

Weighted Marbles: Fuu keeps containers of weighted marbles within her sleeves. These spheres are incredibly dense despite their size, a single one capable of cracking the ground beneath it if dropped from a small distance. They are made from a modified version of the material used for her wireframe wrappings, meaning they too are conduits for spiritual power but not privy to electrical currents or thermal effects.

Snacks: There's always some form of snack stashed away on her person. Where she keeps all this stuff who knows?

Zanpakutō Name

Hachikazuki
(鉢かづき, Bowl-Bearing Princess)
Hachikazuki is a rather standard looking katana though it bolsters an extended hilt with a reinforced metallic cap at its end, adorned with a long pink cloth-like charm. The weapon is balanced through a few additional inches to the blade as well, making its reach rather incredible. The zanpakuto's blade has a brilliant shine to it rather than appearing more matte.

Zanpakutō Spirit: Hachikazuki is a spirit of few words, preferring to speak more so through action. She has a deep love and admiration for her wielder, but also knows she plays around too much. This leads to Hachikazuki taking on an odd type of maternal role, letting herself primarily be supportive but asserting herself to Fuu when she needs to be put more on track. Despite her fondness of Fuu, she has a weird distain for other shinigami, seeing them as being ticking time bombs. The likelihood of them seeing her beloved as a threat or mistreating her makes them all potential threats. Where she will always cooperate with Fuu's wishes, that does not mean she has to like doing so. Every time her power is used to aid those she detests, she would internally curse such an action.

The connection between the two is unyielding, Fuu need not to even make it known that Hachikazuki is needed, she can simply feel it. To Hachi, Fuu is the daughter that has experienced hardship and needs to be protected. And to Fuu, Hachi is the first real friend she ever had and her kindness reminds her of her late brother.

The inner world of Hachikazuki is that of a beautiful sprawling garden, adorned with massive sakura-blossom trees and colorful flora all along the ground. The air smells sweet and the air has a subtle chill to it. Contrasting the beauty there is a weird feeling of dread that seeps into the observer, as if everything around could evaporate at a moments notice. The gravity in the space seems oddly lighter, allowing one to jump around with less draw to the ground.

Shikai Release Phrase

Afureru (あふれる, Overflow)

Shikai Special Ability

Hachikazuki has no discernable visual changes when it is activated, instead its activation is paired with the subtle sound of a bird's chirps. Once active, Fuu gains the ability to change the status of applied conditions and states done to individuals, objects, and constructs. This art is known as Hatsuhana (初花, First Blossom). She can effectively promote or demote the severity of injuries, ailments, sensations, or even effectiveness of tangible actions. A paper cut can instantly worsen to a large gash or the potency of a poison could be dialed back.

These alterations can not be changed by any other method outside of Fuu's will, meaning a promoted injury will not heal, or a demoted trait will not worsen. This means that techniques such as Kaidō can not remedy an altered injury, even if it has been demoted to a less severe state the ability must be undone to allow for proper recovery. The deactivation of shikai or the incapacitation of Fuu is the only surefire way to undo changes. And once that transition has been made all status changes will revert back to their original state, excluding those that ended in a fatality - as death can not be reversed by this technique, even if it caused it.

aab01296904f8eb0ee726beb3c4f46ab.jpg

Hachikazuki can effect any and all within its range of influence leaving no thing big or small left unchecked by its meddling. This zanpakuto is that blossoms in the brightest sun or the darkest undercroft. It is a bringer of relief and a sign of incoming disaster all at once.

Hachikazuki also has access to one more tool in its initial release, something called Nibanbana (二番花, Second Blossom). This ability allows for Fuu to willingly promote her own ailments in exchange for increased cutting power from Hachikazuki. The more risk, the greater the effect. The secret to unraveling these alterations lies in the eye of the beholder, though the solution does not bring immediate relief - as the effects of judgment continue to linger.

4a007eaa8b53d6cfc0f34339cdb3d0ac.webp

Hanasaka-hariko (花咲か針子, Flower Blossoming Seemstress)

Hachikazuki takes on the form of a pair of dual bladed sensu to be wielded by Fuu. In this state a gentle 'rain' of flower petals coat the battle-field. These petals carry no practical effect and instead simplify signify the influence of the zanpakuto's ability, setting the stage beautifully for its final blossom.

Despite the new form of the weapon, the cutting power and sturdiness of this weapons are retained. This includes the 'weight' behind the sensu, resembling that of their previous incarnation.

Bankai Special Ability: Sanbanbana (三番花, Third Blossom)
The final ability of Hachikazuki, as well as the ability exclusively useable in its secondary release. Sanbanbana allows for any injury sustained by Fuu to become a primer for a devastating riposte. If one of Fuu's injuries is replicated on a target, the damage will be applied with several times the effectiveness. Just as with shikai, this instance of multiplicative damage can not be healed until her ability is deemed inactive. All consequences of a sustained ailment or injury will persist even if the severity of it does not change. This would mean a target can still succumb to a poison, bleeding, or strain all the same.

The method to deal the pre-requisite trigger for the ability does not need to be identical, only the locale and type of damage needs to be reflected. (i.e. a cut to the cheek from a thrown projectile can be done by a sword slash in the same spot on the opponent.)

If Sanbanbana leads to a killing blow, the original injury or affliction on Fuu will be recovered as if it did not happen. This would not reset any other sustained injuries but instead simply the one that 'dealt the killing blow'. The effect of Sanbanbana is not exclusive to the target who dealt her the damage nor is it restricted to only being applied to one individual. In theory, this process can be repeated on multiple targets so long as that injury persists on her body. Therefore, if a target perishes from it and her originating status is resolved, it can not apply Sanbanbana from the now removed state. She would then need to pull from another source. That being said, if multiple targets are afflicted by this bankai trait and then one is to perish, nothing will change on the affected and Fuu will still receive the recovery from the first instance.

Physical Description:

Naga face card.jpg

Nagarashi is a tall, youthful and handsome individual, standing at six feet five inches with a chiseled frame. It is obvious that the man looks after his wellbeing and has shaped his body so that it is fit for purpose. He has blue eyes, with a two-toned hair colour consisting of greyish-purple with a lavender undertone. Nagarashi’s hair is quite long, extending down his lower back. Often styled in different ways depending on his mood. Sometimes seen wearing various kinds of hair pieces such as Kenseikan among others. He sports a red scarf, a black mesh tank job under his Shihakusho with his chest area exposed. The sleeves of his kimono are three-quarter lengths, stopping above his forearm. The rest of his hand is covered by black (Tekko)fingerless gloves, which only covers the back of his hand extending up his forearm where it meets the sleeves of his kimono.

He sports a gold trimmed red waistband around his waist, in the same way as Shihoin Chika. It is further held in place by a white sash. The waistband is also used to house dagger-like blades and scalpels that can be used against the enemy. In addition to this, he wears a gold trimmed red cape that reaches the back of his knee. It is attached to his Kimono and was designed to remain in place during combat. It can of course be removed at his choosing. Nagarashi wears a black pleated Hakama as does most Shinigami with white socks and black sandals. His Zanpakuto is either worn on his hip or slung diagonally across his lower back.

Personality:
Nagarashi is a complex individual, caught between his carefree nature and his duties as a member of a noble family. He cherishes the ability to do as he pleases whenever he pleases. A rebellious spirit caught between honour and duty while operating as a member of the Gotei thirteen. Nagarashi is known for being headstrong, with a need to do things his way. Preferring to be left to his own devices, rejecting others who would seek to rule over him. Given the opportunity he can be demeaning towards his enemy and colleagues alike. Some may even deem him to be outright rude and obnoxious, both overtly and covertly. While a master at Kaido, he doesn’t carry out his duties with enthusiasm or tenderness. Not unless he has a hidden agenda or has some unvoiced feelings towards another. Instead, he heals because it's his duty and he does it very well, one of the very best at it.

Nagarashi does this effortlessly, but not opposed to seeing a bad patient perish. Being a healer can have some unfortunate consequences to certain patients. As Nagarashi may elect to watch them die instead of wasting his energy to save the unworthy. He despises incompetence and will not accept it from himself or others.

Known for making snide comments, and can be brutally honest when needed. The man has a fiery temper but does well to keep himself in check. Nagarashi knows that he could blow a fuse at any time, which means someone who should be a healer becomes a destroyer. He has his moments of tranquillity. Wherein even if the world was on fire he wouldn’t care to pour water on it. Not until he was satisfied or felt it was time. He believes everyone should serve a purpose and if you’re lacking. Then you either find said purpose or perish. Nagarashi is a fierce competitor, brutal and unforgiving like a blazing inferno. Quick to size up the enemy, assess the situation and move accordingly. He also has a more welcoming and playful side, which may catch others completely off guard.

He can be stoic and reserved, often indulging in a lack of empathy towards others.

But don’t be fooled, or one may have to suffer his wrath. Nagarashi holds grudges, always remembering those who may have wronged him. Happy to play the long game if it means getting his just revenge against those persons. He dislikes bullies and will happily repay them in kind. A flawed person at times, hard working, filled with determination and grit. His spirit is unyielding, and even when his light may have dimmed, he can have his flames burn bright again through sheer will.

Reiryoku Level & Spirit Class: Great- 3

Kuchiki Naga.jpg

While being born into nobility is most times beneficial towards one’s Reiryoku levels. Nagarashi saw fit to appreciate the head start and continued to build on it. At a very young age he was dubbed a child prodigy, demonstrating very high spiritual pressure even as a whippersnapper. Possessing high levels of Reiryoku which could be exerted as high spiritual pressure wasn’t enough. The youngster at the time wanted to push himself to the limit and beyond that. His goal was to be stronger than those who came before him. And at a bare minimum be mentioned in the same breath as them. Nagarashi set out on a personal journey, always seeking out new challenges. He wanted to emulate the strongest of them all, be it Shinigami, Hollow or otherwise.

He admired strength and held great strength in high regard. As such, those possessing Reiryoku higher than his own were the standard. Nagarashi sought favour from those stronger than he was. Challenging anyone stronger than him that would give him the time of day. It was a daily grind for Nagarashi, showing a great deal of dedication to grow stronger.

Simply put, training alone wasn’t enough for Nagarashi. The Kuchiki believed true growth could only be found in life threatening situations if he ever hoped to push himself beyond his limits. Lounging in the family manor wasn’t going to bring him closer to his goal. Nagarashi used his time with his peers wisely, training everyday going back and forth in sparring sessions. The only stipulation was that his sparring partners went full force against him. He was battered by their overwhelming spiritual pressure, suffocating him until his body shook and buckled. He was often brought to his knees, yet like an unyielding flame, he refused to be extinguished.

In time he learned to resist, he soon learned how to move with freedom. He soon learned how to breathe and withstand pressure being exerted by those with higher Reiryoku levels. His natural reserves grew and his natural talent shone through.

His overwhelming desire to grow stronger brought his rebellious nature to the forefront. He refused to play by the rules, as it was seen as shackles. A means to quell the flames that were raging within him. Nagarashi decided to take himself into the deepest and roughest corners of the Rukongai. There he sought out the toughest and most merciless of criminals. Those possessing strength capable of rivalling the Captains of the Gotei. They possessed Reiryoku levels that were ideal for testing Nagarashi and pushed him beyond his limits. Only this time he was playing for keeps, his life was actually on the line. He knew what it felt like to experience fear and the joy of combat all at once.

The rebellious brat challenged any and everyone he deemed worthy as an opponent. Many battles were fought and many injuries occurred and at times he had more than a few near death experiences. And every time he could feel a change within himself. His Reiryoku levels were no longer just high, he now boasted great spiritual power. Nagarashi was far from settling or resting on his laurels, this level of power just wasn’t enough. He grew even more selfish with an unhealthy obsession for power. Before long he was becoming just like the criminals he sought out. A true ruffian who brought shame to his family. He became their black sheep, a leper living on the fringes.

Nagarashi wasn’t concerned with impressing his family and other nobles. Far too focused on achieving his goals. Nagarashi spent years assimilating himself within the criminal organizations that plagued the area. He killed without mercy and while he faced off against countless powerful opponents. Their strength grew stagnant compared to his that was ever evolving alongside his Reiryoku. The battles became boring as the challenges were no longer seen as a detriment to his own wellbeing. Nagarashi the rebel struggled to find opponents that were worthy enough. Around this time he was forcefully returned to his place among his family. He had certain responsibilities and while he hated it, he understood it and knew that he had a part to play.

This led him to joining the 5th division for his own personal gain. While serving as a member of the Gotei 13, it was only right that the Gotei squads also served him. He was drawn to the 5th division due to its many excursions to Hueco Muno. The home of the Hollows would present countless opportunities for him to continue growing in strength. Nagarashi soon found himself within the deepest and darkest depths of Hueco Mundo on a mission. He signed up for it knowing that his life would be in imminent danger. This did not stop him from signing up, since to Nagarashi this is exactly what he wanted. Said mission led to battles against hollows with varying degrees of power. Until one fateful night when Nagarashi was confronted by a level of power he did not expect. He surmised that this opponent was a fabled Vasto Lorde level Hollow (Arrancar). It was at this time that Nagarashi came to appreciate the strength that he spent so much time building up. His connection and bond with his Zanpakuto were now much stronger than before.

Nagarashi fought with everything he had while sustaining grave injuries. He was pushed to the brink and beyond which only served to fuel the flames within him. He had many other battles of a similar nature and each battle only served to solidify his power. He was no longer just a whippersnapper, he was respected, he was feared and was seen as a symbol of strength. This was shown in his physical and spiritual capabilities. Capable of toppling gigantic structures with just his raw strength alone. A swing of his sword was enough to cut cleanly through the toughest defences, whether it be hiero among other things. He became a monster in his own right. He learned how to exert his Reiryoku in the form of spiritual pressure for both attack and defense. Capable of not only successfully attacking but also defending himself. Nagarashi’s power is deceptive to those who may encounter him, as he often comes across as unassuming. His Reiatsu coats his body like armour, rebuffing attackers and attacks that are not up to par to cause him harm.

Reiryoku Control: Master
At every step that Nagarashi took to grow his strength, he recognized that having mastery over his power was a necessity. Why have power if you don't know how to control it? Such a concept was ridiculous and unwelcomed in the eyes of Nagarashi. He took a great deal of time mastering his Reiryoku, finding new ways to make use of it. One such way is using his control over his Reiryoku to enhance his physical capabilities. His speed, agility, physicality are just mere examples. Over the years Nagarashi spent time honing his Reiryoku and by extension mastering its usage. It was automatic to him, as it became so refined that while others were left in awe, it was as easy as breathing to him. Casting kido spells at full power and without incantation became normal where others might struggle. He was a prodigy and made sure to live up to said praise. Nagarashi was far too prideful to be deemed lacking in control.

He fought hard to reach a certain level of power and he wouldn’t waste a drop. His use of his Reiryoku was precise, and any task requiring his Reiryoku was carefully given the right amount. Low level kido spells cast by Nagarashi were not to be underestimated. Mastering his Reiryoku means that he will often deceive others as to his true level of power. Hiding its levels intentionally as to not cause alarm among his peers or unsuspecting prey. It is this mastery that has made it far easier to learn and master healing techniques. Nagarashi take’s great care and pride in his abilities, learning not only Hado and Bakudo spells but also the intricacies of Kaido and its mechanics.

Reiatsu Description and Effect(s):

Nagarashi’s Reiatsu is elemental in nature when exerted, it is explosive, encompassing the area around him and others in extreme heat. It blazes with pride and fury, scorching the skies and setting things ablaze. It is like a supernova at times, shining bright to the point where it becomes blinding to others. And yet this is seen as normal and a non- hindrance to Nagarashi. His Reiatsu takes the form of a phoenix ready to set the world on fire. It is normally yellow in colour taking on different shades of yellow depending on his mood. Nagarashi’s Reiatsu affects his foes by causing their bodies to feel as if it's on fire. It feels unrelenting as if laced with nothing but malice and contempt towards those in opposion.

Reikaku:

Nagarashi’s capabilities with his Reikaku are on par with the best of them all. While he appreciates the differences between himself and others. He embraces the uniqueness of others which has pushed him to develop his Reikaku alongside them. Through practice, Nagarashi honed and refined his abilities. As such he could sense those possessing minimal levels of Reiryoku. During those days of his rebellion against his duties, politics and exhaustion of being a noble. Nagarashi used his capabilities with his Reikaku to evade capture. He could tell the difference between the low level and powerful criminals of the Rukongai. This also helped in evading the numerous Shinigami that were sent to apprehend him. There was something a little different between a Shinigami and a citizen of the Rukongai. One was trained and the other was not, and while it wasn’t always the same for everyone.

It was easy enough for him to differentiate. Nagarashi could sniff out those with great power and those who may be hiding their true power. He could sense others over vast areas, following events based on fluctuations and spikes in one’s Reiatsu. This allowed him to stay well informed, almost as if he was there with them. This skill was also useful for his travels to Hueco Mundo. As he was able to pinpoint powerful Hollows, Adjuchas and Arrancars with relative ease. Sneaking up on him was always a difficult task, since he’s honed his Reikaku to its absolute pinnacle. Keeping track of the enemy in different situations comes natural to him, to the point where it’s effortless.

Nagarashi.jpg

Hakuda: Expert

What good is having immense physical strength without understanding how to use it? Nagarashi made it his duty to get to grips with his own physical capabilities. He’s an accomplished hand to hand combatant, proving to be a very dangerous opponent when the need arises. He uses his strength and agility to land hard hitting blows on his opponents. His strength comes as a surprise to unsuspecting prey. Nagarashi employs the use of grapples, throwing, tossing, punches, kicks and solid headbutts to get the job done. He is versed in different forms of martial arts but may come across as rugged. He is double jointed, very flexible and capable of twisting his body and body parts in various ways. This gives him an advantage when it comes to hand to hand combat. He is a freak that would happily dislocate his shoulder if it meant freeing himself from the clutches of his opponent.

Nagarashi does this with the knowledge that he is capable of healing his own injuries. This makes him even more fearless. He’s picked up several techniques over the years from those even more versed than he is. A diligent and astute student who takes his craft seriously. He has an obsession with being the best at what he does. However, his Hakuda only ever reached a certain level of expertise. His use of techniques such as Ikkotsu and Sokutsu makes him formidable. Quite capable of shattering bones with a single hit. His kicks are just as fierce should he wishes them to be. It is not unheard of for him to tear limbs off, employing brutality with little care or regard for his opponent. This is seen when he utilizes Kagamibiraki, showing off his raw strength which can unnerve opponents. Nagarashi may also give a demonstration of his capabilities through the use of Tessho. A simple open palm strike that can be devastating when used by him.

At times Nagarashi may find himself dealing with unruly or unkind patients visiting the fourth division. He will oftentimes make use of the Oni Dekopin technique to deal with hooligans. To further demoralise ruffians, Nagarashi may at times use Tsukiyubi against them. He does this knowing that he has the capability to heal them afterwards. As such he is not too concerned with causing them harm if needed to teach a lesson. Should he be required to take combat seriously, then he will use these techniques with deadly force.

Known Techniques: Kagamibiraki, Ikkotsu, Sokutsu, Kazaguruma, Takigoi, Tsurigaki, Tsukiyubi, Oni Dekopin, Raioken, Tessho.

Hohō: Master

Despite his impressive strength, Nagarashi knew that he needed more than just raw power. This is something he accepted during the early stages of his development. He spent a great deal of time learning Shunpo with the intention of mastering the technique. Far more dedicated to learning and mastering Shunpo than he ever did Hakuda. Nagarashi was a natural at the technique when it comes to its usage. Capable of closing the gap between himself and his foe in a mere blink. His movements for those unequipped to deal with it were hard to follow. Coupled with his agility made him a formidable opponent. Nagarashi can travel across long distances in a short amount of time. Using less steps to travel further and much faster. Nagarashi honed his Shunpo to be on par with the fastest of them all. He is comfortable competing with fellow Shunpo masters. Numerous battles against hollow kinds, especially Arrancars, forced him to continue improving.

Going up against Sonido on a regular basis meant that he had to be just as good if not better. One of his favourite techniques to use is Senka. Through use of his speed and sheer agility, Nagarashi can disarm his opponent by sealing their Saketsu and Hakusui in one fluid movement. He tends to use this to quickly dispatch the enemy or out of sheer spite. Nagarashi didn’t stop learning and mastering the use of Senka. His desires took him on a journey of discovery as he began learning more Shunpo related techniques. Speed clones were soon added to his bag of tricks and while he’s capable of creating up to fifteen indistinguishable clones of himself. Nagarashi uses the technique to trick his opponent by combining it with Senka. He does this by leaving a clone behind which mimics his movements and with enough Reiryoku to throw off his opponents senses. And while they’re preoccupied or distracted by the decoy, it would already be too late to react to their Saketsu and Hakusui being severed.

Speaking of decoys, Nagarashi enjoys the use of misdirection and giving his opponent a false sense of security. Making them think that their attack landed will oftentimes give him an opening. This is seen during his use of Utsutsemi. Nagarashi uses his blistering speed to deceive his opponent by leaving an afterimage behind. Regardless of his mastery of the technique and using different versions of Shunpo. Nagarashi is constantly seeking ways to further develop the technique. His mastery means nothing should he ever allow himself to become stagnant.

Known Techniques: Speed Clones, Utsutsemi, Senka

Kidō: Master

Kido is perhaps one of Nagarashi’s favourite arts due to its versatility. He had a love-hate relationship with it to begin, relying more so on his raw strength, Zanpakuto and speed. However, over time he realized that there was so much more to Kido than anything. Despite his natural prowess with the four known arts, Nagarashi spent a great deal of time as a ‘Journeyman’. Something changed as he began to get entangled in more battles. He then decided to dedicate years to learning more higher level Bakudo and Hado spells. Dabbling in barrier type spells also before completely losing himself in the kido arts.

Where his spells used to lack in potency and would oftentimes require an incantation. Nagarashi developed his use of kido where he could now forgo the incantation while maintaining its potency. This is known as Eishohaki to the initiated which was a clear sign of his improvement. Nagarashi used his masterful control of his Reiryoku to his advantage, capable of making low level spells very potent. One can see this in his use of low level spells such Hado 31 or Hado 4, where they're more devastating compared to the norm. He wasn’t about to stop there, since now that he had a taste for it. His appetite became insatiable as he sought to develop his kido even further. It took him in the direction of Kojutsu Eisho. Nagarashi’s spells were potent without incantation so being able to add the incantation made them even more powerful. Nagarashi will often use Bakudo such as Bakudo 61 and strengthen after it was originally cast.

He was happy to catch the enemy off guard by utilizing this art against those unknown to him. This was another sign of improvement which caused others to acknowledge his talent. Despite being dubbed a prodigy, he had to show everyone that he deserved to be referred to as such. His ego would not allow him to slack off and be satisfied as an expert of the art. Nagarashi’s goal was to master the kido arts so that he may add it to his arsenal. As he began learning higher level spells of different kinds. He made sure to make use of them in battle, testing his capabilities and the practicality behind each spell that he learned. He spent years developing his kido and despite the adoration given to him as a prodigy.

Nagarashi had to take his talents seriously and spent a great deal of time honing and refining his skills. Making sure to lead by example even when he was being rebellious. On he went, trying out a mixture of different things. Before long he was dabbling with Niju Eisho by combining two incantations into one. This way he could deceive his opponents by casting two spells at once. One can expect him to use numerous combinations consisting of Bakudo 61 and Hado 88. Binding his opponent and destroying them while they're unable to move. His masterful and potent Reiryoku levels meant that both spells remained effective. Capable of creating devastating combos and really getting creative. His desire for creativity and being different meant that he continued to learn and develop new spells. Often revisiting spells already mastered to invent new ways to utilize them.

Nagarashi took an interest in barrier and sealing spells after seeing their potential. As such he started to learn and develop spells within this category, which helped him to add even more to his arsenal. One such spell being Torii Enkiri among others that are effective against the enemy.
His biggest challenge which came as a surprise to him was Kaido. Learning healing kido was his penance but it also went hand in hand with discovering even more about himself and his Zanpakuto. No longer was it merely about destruction and subduing the enemy. Nagarashi had to now show compassion backed with a bit of ego. Learning and mastering the use of Kaido took longer than other forms of kido. The internal strife made it all the more difficult, but the benefits were worth it. Not only could he heal his allies and save lives. It also meant that he could fight for longer, being the more likely winner in a war of attrition. Capable of healing grievous injuries to himself and friends alike, closing wounds in and outside of battle.

Name: Torii Enkiri Archway of Severing Connections

Incantation:
O sacred threshold, crimson gate of the divine. Sever the ties of the profane, break all bonds that seek passage.

Description:
A defensive Bakudo/barrier spell that manifests a series of floating crimson torii gates in a protective formation around the caster or an ally. When an incoming attack—spiritual or physical—strikes one of the gates, the energy is drawn inward, vanishing for an instant before erupting outward from a different gate in a redirected trajectory. Each gate acts as a transient conduit between points in space, allowing Nagarashi to deflect incoming assaults rather than absorb or nullify them outright. Once a torii redirects an attack, it shatters into fragments of red Reiryoku, dispersing harmlessly into the air. The spell ends when all gates have been used.

Zanjutsu:

Nagarashi made it his mission to be one of the best at Zanjutsu. He has great respect for the art and has dedicated a great deal of time into reaching its peak. Adapts to the principles of Kendo, the way of the sword and its branches. Nagarashi sought out those that are renowned Zanjutsu masters and practiced under their tutelage. Even when he would seek out constant fights in an effort to grow stronger. Those principles were never forgotten and so he continued to build on it. Nagarashi started off with the very basics and that was swinging his sword repeatedly. The purpose of which was to improve his speed, power, muscle memory and focus. Part of his training and conditioning for battle saw him engage in something basic but necessary. The art of a “Byūtifuru Chanbara) Beautiful Sword fight”. This helped with his concentration, reaction speed, agility and physical capabilities. Nagarashi wasn’t just swinging a sword, he learned how to attack and defend at the same time. Making it rather difficult to breach his defenses in a head to head sword fight. This was practiced repeatedly and against those who were better than he was at the time. This carried on until he was accomplished at fighting in such a way. Through it he could find openings while also defending.

Sticking by the principles of Kendo, while fully capable of wielding his sword with only one hand. Nagarashi appreciated the difference in power that wielding it with both hands brought. This was the start of his journey on mastering Ryodan (Bisection). A simple but most effective technique. This suited someone like Nagarashi who possessed freakish strength that was almost unrivalled. His stature made his power very deceptive but he was still a long way off. He continued working on improving the effectiveness of using Ryodan. Alongside working on Ryodan, Nagarashi learned different sword techniques along the way. One of which is Agitowari (Chin/Jaw Splitting). A technique Nagarashi was ready to use against just about any opponent. He however found it very useful when dealing with hollows that towered over him in size. His precision, power, speed and decisiveness made this one of his most fundamental techniques. Employing it at the opportune time to end the battle as soon as possible. Again, he never stopped working on improving his use of a double handed grip strike (Ryodan).

Nagarashi recognizes that there are times where a mere warning is not enough to deter fools. It was necessary to add in killing intent in order to coerce opponents into standing down. Shitonegaeshi (Cushion Return) was one such means of accomplishing this. Nagarashi uses this simple but effective technique in various situations where it's not necessary to kill. His killing intent becomes so overwhelming that an opponent can become subdued and immobilized by being in close proximity to the tip of his blade. Whether they are laid out on the ground, on their knees or standing, it’s all the same to Nagarashi. The tip of his sword millimeters away from their face is enough to get the “point” across. While all of these techniques were being learned and mastered, Nagarashi maintained his relentless practice sessions around Ryodan. In between all this, he learned another technique that he deemed to be simple but effective in its use. Onibi (Oni Fire) was used against many opponents to devastating effect. Blowing holes through his opponents before they even realized what had happened. A thing of beauty as a mere thrust done with speed, power and precision can be filled with horror.

On his journey to mastering Zanjtsu, Nagarashi developed a fondness towards simple but effective sword strikes. He finds that those are more demoralising to would be opponents compared to techniques requiring more theatrics. This is why he is rather fond of Hitotsume: Nadegiri -The First: Killing Stroke. In those instances where he wants to mow down his opponent. Nagarashi uses his superior speed, power and precision to deliver a strike of extreme force. With this he was able to cut down giants and regular sized opponents alike. With this technique he is capable of drawing his blade and cutting the opponent down before they have time to react. In those instances Nagarashi wishes to show he is capable of fighting in different ways. He will use techniques such as Senmaioroshi Thousandfold Grating , and find it to be a sure way for multiple opponents to rethink the notion of attacking him. His demeanour can go from calm to sadistic in his take down of the enemy. As his journey of mastery continued, Nagarashi finally reached that stage where his use of Ryodan was at its pinnacle. His muscle strength is ridiculous and as such his cutting power is devastating. His bisection technique contained so much power behind it that it was terrifying coming from someone like Nagarashi. Often leaving the enemy with more questions than answers. In addition to this Nagarashi continued to add more techniques to his repertoire.

Known Techniques: Agitowari, Hitotsume: Nadegiri, Ryodan, Senmaioroshi Thousandfold Grating, Suikawari , Onibi, Beautiful Swordfight, Shitonegaeshi.

Immense Strength:

Nagarashi is deceptively and freakishly strong, something which is unheard of for someone of his physical stature. He is far from a hulk of a warrior but his well toned and trained body gets the job done. His immense strength is a weapon for sure, making him dangerous whether it's hand to hand or sword based combat. Capable of toppling gigantic structures and opponents with just his raw strength alone. A swing of his sword is enough to cut cleanly through the toughest or hardest defences, whether it be hiero and others things similar. He adapts to the situation, adjusting his power output depending on the opponent. Nagarashi’s kicks and punches are hard enough to break bones. His grappling strength can be crippling to the enemy. Known for throwing or hurling the enemy over great distances. He employs the use of his Reiryoku and his masterful control, with a combination of his great physical power. Sword clashes see his opponents rebuffed with minimal effort. Can create powerful shock waves with a swing of his sword, sending the enemy flying while causing them harm. He doesn’t waste his energy, he is instead precise about everything that he does.

Enhanced Speed and Reflexes:

Many are left amazed at Nagarashi’s speed and reflexes without the use of Shunpo. Known for his quick reactions and speed of movement. Nagarashi’s body and senses are heightened, so that even a sure hit may not land as expected. He is a very agile combatant, and using his speed and reflexes he can get out of a bind with little effort. This all seems to come natural to him, however he only ever reached this level due to countless years spent training and honing his body. As such he is able to defend himself or to even escape the clutches of death. Nagarashi doesn’t just rely on his enhanced speed and reflexes for defending himself. The speed of his strikes whether it's Hakuda or swordsmanship makes him a formidable foe. His speed of movement can deceive others as he utilizes sleight of hand to catch his opponents off guard. Extremely accurate in both offense and defense. Capable of landing strikes before the opponent has time to react or comprehend what has happened.

Enhanced Durability:

While it pays to have great attacking prowess, Nagarashi appreciates having a good defence just the same. In the time spent dishing out pain, he also learned how to endure pain and overtime became resilient. Nagarashi is capable of taking a great deal of punishment, only to spring back up seemingly unfazed. His durability can be menacing and disheartening to the enemy. Capable of taking point blank hits and somehow remaining unmoved.

Master Healer:

Kaido was originally the bane of his existence but through sheer determination, Nagarashi was able to get to grips with it. Not only was he learning and mastering Kaido, Nagarashi also dedicated time to learning more about anatomy. He became knowledgeable and an expert in health related matters. Capable of giving a diagnosis through observation or even after a quick examination. Nagarashi developed his talents to the point where is he capable of dealing with minor and life threatening injuries. Techniques such as Goyōgai (五養蓋, Five Support Cover) is used by him to hold off death from mortal injuries or to prevent other conditions from worsening. On the flip side, being knowledgeable of anatomy, Nagarashi uses it to his advantage in battle situations. He uses anaesthesia's that are fast acting and very potent to affect the enemy. Although techniques such as Inemuri (威眠, Forced Slumber) is more useful against regular patients.

Nagarashi’s Kaido manifests as emerald-green flames that radiate a calm, regenerative warmth. Despite their fiery appearance, these flames do not burn; they embody life energy given form, guiding Reiryoku to mend tissue, seal wounds, and realign spiritual pathways. His healing is a precise balance of control, focus, and spiritual empathy. Something which is seen as surprising for someone like him due to his persona. The flames flow across the patient’s body, dissolving into their skin to fuse Reiryoku directly into the wound. Through layered application, the outer flame soothes while inner embers stimulate regeneration. This process allows Nagarashi to treat injuries efficiently without destabilizing the patient’s spirit.

Minor injuries are closed instantly with no scarring. Moderate injuries are Fully healed within moments; leaves mild fatigue. Severe trauma is treatable with sustained concentration but not instantaneous. It is not beyond him to stabilize critical wounds but full recovery requires multiple sessions. Spiritual toxins/corruption is not beyond his capabilities. Nagarashi is able to purge low-to-moderate impurities though high-level afflictions may resist treatment or require far more effort depending on it's make up. Despite his sometimes blatant lack of empathy as a master healer. He has honed his abilities to support and heal multiple patients at the same time. He is astute enough to realize that sometimes completely healing all ailments and injuries is an impossible task. As such, one must instead aim to preserve life above everything else.

Zanpakutō Name: Kagutsuchi- Shining Force

Zanpakutō Spirit:

Kagu.jpg
Mythlok-Kagutsuchi-anime.jpg

Kagutsuchi has two forms, a humanoid version and a non-human form that is majestic. Kagutsuchi's humanoid form is that of a tall male with long black hair. He has a muscular frame that he is quite proud of. Seen wearing an unbuttoned white shirt with black trimmings, that also acts as a crop top. His chest and abdominal areas remain exposed which is no doubt by design. He wears a pair of gold arm guards with red diamonds decorated all over them. The sleeves of his unbuttoned shirt is tucked into the arm guards, while leaving his hands bare. Around his waist is a red and gold high waistband and a white hakama. The non-human version of Kagutsuchi sees him takes the form of a legendary and mythical creature, the phoenix. In this form he is made up solely of flames of different shades. The phoenix form is also seen during Nagarashi's bankai release.
Kagutsuchi is hot headed and prideful, albeit a wise and head strong individual. He is similar to Nagarashi in ways and yet with some difference. Kagutsuchi has complete confidence in his abilities, to the point where Nagarashi sometimes views it as arrogance. He is merciless, looking to baptise all that stands before him in flames. And on the other hand, his arrogance has lead him to wanting dominion over life and death. Kagutsuchi views himself as a god, which is also a reflection of his name.

Zanpakutō Inner World:

Kagutsuchi's inner world is more or less a desolate wasteland filled with mountains and volcanos. The world itself seems to always be on fire and it is there that Kagutsuchi reigns. Can be seen sitting on a throne while everything burns around him. The skies appear to be on fire, the ground is filled with ash and burning embers.

Sealed Zanpakutō Description:

Kagutsuchi in its sealed form is a regular sized katana with no distinguishing features to its blade. The crossguard is in the shape of a pentagon, it is black in color with golden feathers woven into it. The tip of the pentagon shaped cross-guard is pointed in the same direction as the blade's edge. The hilt is predominantly red with black material wrapped around certain sections of the hilt. The butt is gold in color while the sheath is two-toned with a mixture of red and black.

Zanpakutō Release Phrase: Scorch the Skies

Shikai.png

Shikai Appearance:

There are only a few minor changes from its sealed state to its Shikai form. The Shikai release sees the blade engulfed in flames of varying amounts. Often depending on Nagarashi’s current state and temperament. It is wreathed in crimson and gold-white living flames. This is in response to Kagutsuchi’s flames and their capabilities as ‘living flames’. The flames produced by Nagarashi’s Shikai pulse pulse and ripple along the blade like a semi-sentient entity reacting to the wielder’s intent. Depending on what Nagarashi is trying to accomplish the flames radiate with intense heat and brilliance, capable of temporarily blinding the enemy. The hilt now has a red tassel attached to the end of it. There are now five small holes running along the hilt.

Shikai Special Ability:

Kagutsuchi is a significant kami (god) in Japanese Shinto mythology, revered as the god of fire and volcanoes.

Kagutsuchi’s power is the creation, control and manipulation of fire/flames boasting intense heat while explosive in nature. These flames are said to be living due to their semi-autonomous and semi-sentient nature, that are an extension of the wielder. They can be used to form semi-solid constructs/shapes for offense and defense. Such shapes range from spikes, whips, barriers, claws, tendrils and other forms of weaponry. All of this is possible without the use of a specific technique. All the while remaining blindingly radiant and lethally hot. Amazingly, every swing, thrust or defensive movement naturally ignites the surrounding air producing shockwaves of searing heat. The flames are explosive on impact or can be directed to detonate freely.

On its release and use of its flames, they burn so bright that they become blinding to onlookers. The hotter the flames burn the brighter they become. This makes it difficult to fight against Nagarashi while having very poor visibility. Due to the nature of the flames, Nagarashi can extend or retract the flame constructs instantly. Flames also react instinctively to threats, moving to intercept projectiles or enemies within range. The reaction/actions of the semi-sentient flames depends on the situation at hand. Even if partially extinguished or blocked, Kagutsuchi’s flames reignite instantly demonstrating the sentient nature of the flames.

It goes without saying that the user is not harmed by their own flames.

Techniques:

Name: Nesaku- Root Splitter

Description:
Nesaku is the first Shikai technique taught to Nagarashi by Kagutsuchi. The technique uses trickery and savagery to execute the enemy. Upon invocation, Kagutsuchi’s flames condense into a radiant, elongated blade of searing fire, extending from Nagarashi’s sword up to seventy meters in length. The condensed flames burn with such intensity that they emit blinding light, warping visibility through heat haze and afterimages. With a thrust or swing, the primary blade fragments into as many as seven autonomous flame constructs, each resembling spectral swords of light and heat. These constructs attack from multiple directions, above, below, and the flanks while obscuring the opponent’s perception with false afterimages.

The result is an indistinguishable storm of genuine and illusory blades. The flame constructs display a degree of semi-sentience, adjusting their trajectories to intercept evasive maneuvers or exploit blind spots. They may curve, feint, or vanish mid-strike to further confound the target. The technique also possesses a unique safety mechanism. Nagarashi refers to this as the murder-suicide pack. Whereby the flames pass harmlessly through Nagarashi, ensuring that he remains unaffected by his own assault.

Name: Nokori Hanehi- Remnant Flame Feathers
Description:

Nokori Hanehi manifests as a torrent of phoenix feathers made of living flames that cascade from the blade or from Nagarashi’s own Reiatsu. Each feather glows with radiant fire, brilliant at the core with embers trailing off, resembling a burning flock swirling through the air. The feathers are too much to count and attempting such only serves as a distraction to the enemy. Nagarashi commands these feathers with precision, manipulating their movement at tremendous speeds. They are deceptively quick and unpredictable due to the nature of Nagarashi’s Shikai. The feathers are truly versatile in use as they can be gathered to use offensively and defensively. Forming barriers, wings or shields of flames to deflect attacks or to form into attack based constructs. By surrounding the enemy in a whirlwind of feathers, the heat intensifies as the feathers tighten, burning and constricting the enemy until they’re incinerated. The feathers are not only sharp, capable of cutting, slicing or piercing through the opponent.

They can also be triggered to violently combust on command or semi-autonomously due to its sentient nature. A barrage of feathers can create a chain of explosions or a concentrated cluster can form a devastating blast. Even if doused, the feathers can reignite themselves, embodying the immortal fire of the phoenix. The feathers can also emit a radiant golden-white blinding light, searing the eyes of anyone who looks at them, which allows Nagarashi to disrupt the battlefield. The flames are long, ember-streaked plumes, their edges glowing in molten yellows and deep crimson with trailing motes of fire as they move. When gathered in large numbers, they resemble a phoenix shedding a blazing wingbeat into the battlefield.

Bankai.png

Bankai Name: Hino-Kagutsuchi- Earthen Tool of Fire

Bankai Description:

Hino-Kagutsuchi summons forth a giant phoenix made up of flames in the likeness of the ‘Sokyoku’ in its released state. The phoenix remains a constant throughout the duration of the Bankai and is controlled by the user. It has different shades of living fire flames which make up its body, ranging from orange, white, yellow and black. Its talons are orange in colour and are made of flames. Its long flowing tails follow the same colour scheme as the rest of its body. In addition to this, Nagarashi now has a pair of large wings made of fire. These wings can be used for flight and general combat while in its Bankai state. He has feathers of fire covering his garments all over, with his hair having sections covered in feathers. His motif is that of a phoenix. His Zanpakuto remains the same as its Shikai state.

Bankai Special Ability:

Kagutsuchi’s Bankai builds on its Shikai state but more intensified as anyone can imagine. The flames remain Semi-Sentient and also maintain its autonomous state. Nagarashi and the giant phoenix are in tune with each other, capable of independent attacks or more collaborative amplified attacks. The phoenix becomes his celestial reflection, moving in perfect synchronization with Nagarashi. Sustained by his Reiryoku, it is this shared spiritual flow which gives birth to "small scale and phoenix scale" attacks. To the enemy it's like fighting two versions of Nagarashi at once, the precise, deadly swordsman up close and the colossal flaming avatar looming above. Those with a keen eye may notice that Nagarashi never uses techniques such as Happo Zanshu, Iwasaku and Enten Yokai in conjunction with the phoenix. The flames of course carries the same capabilities of its Shikai just on a grander scale.

Techniques:

Name: Happo Zanshu- Eight Directions Beheading

Description:

Happo Zanshu manifests as eight ethereal arms of incandescent flame, each grasping a copy of Kagutsuchi’s blade wreathed in living fire. At the moment of activation, the weapons phase harmlessly through Nagarashi, but solidify around his opponent(s), leaving the target caught at the heart of the technique. The blades materialize without warning in eight distinct vectors, shoulders, thighs, midsection, spine, and head, cutting inward with burning precision. The flames sear with such intensity that steel and flesh alike are cleaved in the same motion. Victims struck are simultaneously burned and dismembered, their bodies overwhelmed by Kagutsuchi's judgement.

The Murder-Suicide principle is maintained so that the blades may phase harmlessly through Nagarashi or his phoenix avatar, ensuring he cannot be hindered by his own attack. The technique activates within the target’s immediate proximity, bypassing conventional evasive maneuvers. And with sufficient spiritual output, multiple enimies may be targeted simultaneously, each surrounded by their own circle of blades. The strike is designed not merely to wound but to annihilate. Even if blocked, the flames erupt in violent bursts, ensuring severe collateral damage. They're fast and decisive while remaining semi-sentient, capable of adjusting their attack pattern mid strike.

Name: Iwasaku- Boulder Splitter
Description:

Iwasaku once activated creates a living blazing storm, placing Nagarashi at the centre of a spiraling sentient inferno, fire curling around his strikes, sweeping off his body and recoiling back into his form. It feels less like he’s simply wielding fire but instead commanding a living battlefield of flames. The technique is dynamic, never truly dissipating but instead shifting its form depending on how Nagarashi directs it. The true strength of Iwasaku lies in its ability to shift seamlessly between offense and defense. When on the attack, Nagarashi channels the tempest outward, transforming the storm into sweeping vortexes of flames that cut, burn and detonate with crushing force. These attacks can take many shapes, like a blade swing which unleashes a tornado of fire which expands with each rotation. Condensed spires of spiralling flames lance out, piercing and exploding on impact. Smaller bursts of flames can break off from the tempest and bombard the enemy like flaming meteors. The storm's living quality means that attacks dont stop at the first hit, they coil, rebound and strike again, hunting the enemy until dispersed by force.

Shifting from attack to defense, the tempest forms a rotating wall of fire and pressure that shields Nagarashi. The flames harden into layers of searing wind, creating barriers that repel projectiles (arrows, Ceros, Kido) by burning and deflecting them. It acts as a deterrent to attackers that are in close proximity as the living fire instinctively lashes out. It disrupts ice, frost or oppressive Reiryoku fields with sheer heat and turbulence. The shield isn’t static as it moves with Nagarashi, capable of turning defense into attack through manipulation. The versatility of the technique enables Nagarashi to attack and defend simultaneously. As such he can be reckless with his attacks without leaving himself exposed.

Enten Youkai- Scorching Sun Apparitions
Description:

Upon command, Nagarashi’s Bankai manifests winged humanoid entities born from living fire, each bearing the visage of a phoenix-headed warrior with blazing wings. Numbering in the dozens, these radiant avatars are forged from Nagarashi’s own Reiryoku and act as extensions of both himself and his colossal phoenix. Their bodies are composed entirely of sentient flame, their movements trailing with streaks of molten light, and each wields a flaming replica of Kagutsuchi. The creatures mirror Nagarashi’s immense strength, speed, reflexes, Hakuda, Zanjutsu, and are extremely durable. Though born from fire, their forms possess startling solidity, allowing them to engage in direct combat. Their strikes cut and burn with the same ferocity as Nagarashi himself, and their wings give them blistering speed and the ability to assault the enemy from any angle.

While Nagarashi may command them directly, the apparitions exhibit independent judgment, reacting instinctively to threats and adapting to battlefield conditions. Even if Nagarashi is incapacitated, they persist until destroyed. Each apparition mirrors the capabilities of Kagutsuchi’s flame constructs, forming tendrils, barriers, whips, and explosive detonations. Their synchronization allows for overwhelming combined assaults or coordinated defensive formations. When defeated, an apparition detonates in a violent burst of flame and heat, incinerating anything within range. The fragments of fire return to Nagarashi’s control, enabling him to reforge new apparitions at will. Their collective presence produces an unbearable heat field, warping the air and blinding onlookers with constant bursts of solar-bright light. Simply being surrounded by them is a battle against suffocating pressure and searing brilliance.
While their full number can reach one hundred, Nagarashi may manifest fewer to conserve energy. The fewer apparitions active, the stronger and more durable each becomes.

Name: Homusubi- Soul of Fiery Childbirth

Homusubi is loosely based on the lore of Kagutsuchi's birth, who burns his mother (Izanami) to death when being birthed into the world.

Description:

6275113-5560213815-latest.jpg

As previously stated the giant phoenix is a constant during Kagutsuchi’s Bankai release. It is at the command of Nagarashi and is at his beckon call. It flies and moves at tremendous speeds while reigning over the skies. The light and flames shine so bright that they can blind the unfortunate onlookers. The body of the phoenix can be used to its utmost to harm the enemy. Whether its the wings, sharp beak, talons or otherwise. Independently it is capable of breathing fire, releasing large balls/beams of flames, continuously shed giant flaming feathers that rain across the battlefield that can pierce defences and explode on contact. Forcing the enemy into constant evasion. Capable of letting out an earth-shattering screech sending out waves of concussive fire on a target area that disrupts spiritual techniques e.g. kido, cero, barriers etc. It is not only an independent and semi-sentient being but also works together with Nagarashi.

In a collaborative sense, the phoenix mirrors Nagarashi's attacks while amplifying each attack. When Nagarashi swings his blade, the phoenix mirrors the motion with its massive fiery talons or wings. This creates a layered offense, a precise sword cut up close is backed by a colossal fiery strike that lands in the same instant. The aftermath is a slash which cleaves through a much wider area many meters wide with devastating force. Each strikes has a small scale and a phoenix scale execution simultaneously. This makes it difficult to avoid both Nagarashi and the phoenix. Their shared spiritual flow and connection means that if Nagarashi were to channel projectile based kido spells, the phoenix automatically scales it into something greater/more potent. Eg. Hado 31 Shakkaho becomes a massive fiery ball of destruction. The phoenix mirrors defensive motions too.

If Nagarashi parries an attack, the phoenix can intercept the larger threat, swatting away incoming projectiles, redirecting enemy Bankai level strikes, or shielding him in wings of fire. Nagarashi maintains a murder-suicide pact, although the user does not become a victim of the technique/phoenix, just the same as with Happo Zanshu and Nesaku. If portions of the phoenix is destroyed it can simply reform from the living flames that it produces. The phoenix is never still; even when idle, its massive wings flare in time with Nagarashi's breath and heartbeat, emphasizing their unity.

Personality:

Many people's first encounter with Toru is often hearing his random mumblings before they even lay eyes on him. This gangly eccentric man is always an odd sight to behold and interact with, especially if you share his fascination with biology. Bacteria, Souls, Hollows, Humans, etc. all forms of life fall into the category of interest for this strange man. If it draws breath it draws his attention, no matter how small. However, this is more than just simple scientific interest, it goes far beyond that into the realms of obsession, fanatic obsession as he is always “Seeking new biomass for experimentation” as he would put it in his words.

He is quite the social individual as well, with an obsession with biological life; it's no wonder he likes to mingle among life itself, in all its forms. Because of this mingling he has a blatant disregard for personal space. From standing too close and talking right in a person's face, leaning in close to their ear to make sure they hear what he is saying, and a compulsion to talk with his hands and even touch the person he is speaking with. The sickening way he can accentuate certain words, adding emphasis on syllables that can make the skin crawl from spine to neck. A conversation with him can leave a person feeling physically ill simply due to how this man conducts himself in social situations.

Aside from his love of life and being a social phenomenon with others, he is quite interested in the culinary arts. Food is the fuel of life, so it's no wonder he fancies himself quite the chef. Like all chefs he has a signature dish, that dish being stew. While he is fully capable of whipping up any sort of stew he has a particularly favourite stew, the perpetual stew. It takes those privy to fun facts or are deep into culinary arts, like Toru, to know what a perpetual stew truly is. Needless to say Toru has been churning this perpetual stew for over a hundred years and he considers it to be his best dish and invites many to come and taste it, should they survive their initial social encounter with the man.

Toru also has no major interest in clan affairs or their relics. He does make use of connections to obtain things he needs for experimentation but outside of that he disregards their existence. Those in Soul society know he is from the famed Tsunayashiro clan and when reminded of this he often quips about how he forgot all about that. With his mind focused more on biology he will never make time for his clan if it does not benefit him in some way.

Reiryoku Level: High | Spirit Class: Four | Reiryoku Control: Master Control

426f7d534405f1658efb99a13a514686.png

From birth Toru was blessed with more power than the average soul and because of this blessing he never sought to increase this power. It is an aspect of himself he has disregarded, considering it a race he won at birth. When using his blessed Reiryoku there is always a lingering hint of paranoia in the air. While it is not debilitating in the slightest it can put people on edge in anticipation for what this strange man is about to do or conjure. Oftentimes this paranoia can be a good warning sign for those facing him in combat but not even this blatant crimson flag is enough to prepare most for what is to follow.

His foes are met with an individual who uses this paranoia-inducing power to enhance the speed and power of his Zanjutsu and Hakuda. Although the latter is rarely used if the situation allows it. Given his methods of applying inflictions upon others, speed is the name of the game for him. His birth right strength allows him to perform blindingly swift strikes that are sure to leave small cuts or nicks, nothing devastating, at least not at first.

Even with that speed and higher than average Reiryoku he would still rather not be noticed in dangerous situations. He is a scientist above all else so of course he would rather sit back, observe, and collect his findings which is why he is quite skilled at concealing his Reiryoku in those times. This ability to mask his presence came from a mix of subconscious and conscious effort. It makes it hard to observe, for both scientific and non scientific purposes, when he can stand out like a sore thumb in a crowd. Hiding the way he does allows him to work in peace when he needs to, unless someone physically comes looking for him, Reikaku alone may not be enough to find him.

The only time this man is not hiding his spiritual power is when actively in combat. This is when he is letting his Reiryoku flow through his body to enhance his physical attributes. It should be understood that forcing this gangly creature to come out of hiding does not mean he is cornered or pressed. To make him come out of his shell is to invite sickness and unhealth upon the aggressor.

Reiatsu Description and Effects: Stun

Those who unfortunately succumb to the Reiatsu of this man are sent spiraling on a trip that will make them want to avoid him for the rest of their days. Succumbing means being introduced to a level of nausea that will have a person swearing off contact with this man like a drunk swearing off alcohol. But this nausea is not normal, it is the typical kind one would feel from feeling sick while simultaneously experiencing the sort of nausea when gazing at something utterly repulsive. As merely an example, things that induce ocular based nausea are extremely rotted corpses, severe cases of deformity in humanoids or animals, abnormal growths, tumors, blackened organs, etc. Luckily this horrid effect is not used often or at all unless he is actively terrorizing someone lesser than him or to counteract someone else’s Reiatsu.

Reikaku:

Toru’s Reikaku is not something used for practicality, but rather for mischievous and nefarious ends. Purely out of curiosity he likes to be aware of his surroundings, always hoping that something pings on his twisted radar. From trying to find new or more biomass to research to finding an individual to simply mess with. In terms of combat his ability to remain aware of his surroundings makes laying traps for him in the environment to be quite difficult. With such a level of vigilance it almost forces people to attack him head on, which is what he may want.

Hakuda: Expert | Zanjutsu: Expert

Due to the ability of his Shikai and his body modifications Toru has developed a style that uses Hakuda and Zanjutsu in tandem with one another. This style employs the use of diverting attention away from his Zanpakuto to his weaponized body along with the inverse of this as well. When using his body to divert attention away from his Zanpakuto his Zanjutsu based strikes tend to be fast and precise.

0ca4e9d257b3e95bbc479def30c4306a.png

He favors speed and precision over strength and quantity when wielding his blade, showing a level of competency with swordplay that is not often seen by those in Twelfth division. Then there are the times when he is using his literal weaponized body for attacks. Elbows and knees are his favored instruments to strike with, heavily relying on his blade like bone extensions to cause lacerating damage and to apply inflictions upon someone in the process. His Hakuda is very reminiscent of Muay Thai, a martial art that heavily employs the use of elbows and knees.

Known Techniques: Toru is well versed in most Hakuda and Zanjutsu techniques, the Handstand Dash is somewhat of a trademark though.

53a67ac3cd3b1425f59e0bbc8bc9962a.png

Hohō: Expert
With his fighting style often revolving around the use of his Hakuda he needs to get in close and remain close, this need gave rise to this level of speed. Due to his habit of concealing his presence he has not trained this skill any further despite having the aptitude to become a Shunpo master. Like a gnat that just wont get out of your face Toru will remain buzzing around unless his foe can move faster than him. Those who fail to escape are subjected to whatever fate he doles out to them. He also seems to favor speed clones because they tend to work very well with his Shikai, the slight of hand and deception of the two increases the certainty that he will close the gap to land the necessary strikes. Further combining his usage of his Reiryoku control he can become like a lurking pathogen that will abruptly spring up and cause sickness.

Known Techniques: Speed Clones

Kidō: Novice

With no interest in the Demon Arts Toru has not developed his skills here beyond what was necessary for the Academy. The spells he does use lean heavily towards Bakudo, mainly used on those weaker than himself or as a surprise tactic against foes with more grit. The bindings he can employ can be quite potent due to his control over his Reiryoku, however, no matter how potent they may be a competent person can escape them simply due to Toru lacking the proper expertise to strengthen the holds properly. It is akin to tying someone down with brute force vs tying someone down with proper knots and the like.

Known Spells: Bakudo 1-21

Biology Savant:

Toru was born with fairly average intelligence, he wasn’t gifted with a great mind that could immediately grasp all there is in the scientific world. His trip down biology was born when he learned what caused a family member to become grievously ill and pass away. This sparked his interest in life as a whole and he dove head first into studying all there was to learn about biology. Studies rapidly evolved into experimentation which allowed him to gain unparalleled knowledge over all known forms of life. But his studies and experiments did not stop there. To this day he continues to learn, expanding his repertoire of information, and collecting any and all forms of biomass that might unlock further secrets of life.

Body Modifications:

Long before entering Shin’o Academy Toru had the knowledge necessary to manipulate biological life to fit his needs, specifically his biology. Shortly after joining the Academy, Toru had begun the process of modifying his body and by the time he graduated he had already completed a few of these modifications. There were some failures along the way but after graduation he acquired enough knowledge to turn those failures into successes.

One of these failures turned to success was the modification to his immune system. Due to his future plans this was the most vital of modifications that often had him in the intensive care unit of Fourth Division. Nearly dying multiple times before finally perfecting it but when perfected his immune system is finally at a point where it no longer seeks and destroys foreign bodies but instead contains and fosters them.

The next important modification came after the first, the weaponization of his bodily fluids. His blood, mucus, sweat and saliva all carry a bacteria that has been repurposed and reformed for his personal needs. Being exposed to this bacteria causes the user to be covered in sores before they develop into boils and pustules. These boils and pustules will eventually rupture and cause excruciating pain and leave open sores on the body. This bacteria was once slow acting but after proper development and experimentations its effects were ramped up to work over the course of an hour rather than days.

A modification that came long after graduation was his most visually gruesome modification. Toru can create makeshift blades by snapping the bones in his limbs and having them protrude from his flesh. These are the “bone blades” used in his Hakuda style which are neatly coated in his own viscera to spread his bacteria as he pleases.

Zanpakutō Name: Sude (素手; Empty Hand)

Zanpakutō Spirit:

Sude is a stark contrast to its owner who is rather vile and disgusting. Sude is clean, smooth and uniform although it is naught but a shimmering white humanoid figure it still acts as a foil to its master in terms of appearance and personality.

Zanpakutō Inner World:

A hazy world flowing with a strange ethereal purple haze.

Sealed Zanpakutō Description:

Sude’s sealed state is that of a basic katana with very little adornment. What differentiates Sude from other Zanpakutō is its custom-made scabbard, fashioned in the form of a parasol. The canopy of this parasol is composed of a special woven material that disperses the majority of Reiatsu that comes into contact with it.

Zanpakutō Release Phrase:

Reveal yourself, Sude.

f127c7981afbd06952a82344843c9e0d.png

Shikai Description:

In Sude's Shikai state, the only thing that changes is the disappearance of the scabbard.

Shikai Special Ability:

Kaodachi
(顔立ち;Visage):

The ability is quite simple, when the blade is hidden from view its entire existence is erased from perception and memory. When falling under this ability the opponent completely forgets that Toru has a blade drawn until it is utilized against them. The moment their eyes lose track of it they forget that it exists. Foes are caught in a perpetual cycle of being caught off guard by the sudden surprise of being attacked by a blade they have no memory of seeing. The only true way to counter this ability is to obtain information on this Shikai before Toru releases it and given his nature getting this information is more impossible than trying to break into Muken with all thirteen Captains guarding it.

"Is something the matter?"

Personality: Kōtetsuyama is an individual who almost always retains a rather professional yet kind persona. His mannerisms tend to make even those in opposition with him feeling welcomed, as he rarely presents a negative vibe. His mentality revolves around resolving issues, handling communications, and maintaining pleasantries in a timely and neat manner. This is something that he has found is aided thoroughly by the demeanor that he wears, opting to maintain that friendly demeanor even if internally he feels otherwise. That being said, it doesn't mean that his kindness is wholly an act, but instead is just amplified often out of necessity.

In situations that are filled with tension Kōtetsuyama is completely unmoved by anxiety, fear, or anything similar. Some have even said he may lack the feeling entirely. This quirk of his psyche is something that was wrung out of him through many years of preparations before he even stepped foot inside the boundary of the Seireitei. The sensation of being unnerved has been replaced with a feeling of exhilaration, making him often enter a state of euphoria when put into a bad situation. A mix up in the wiring that often leads to him finding those situations enjoyable even if he consciously acknowledges otherwise.

As a fighter, he actually revels at the opportunity to scrap - especially if he is pushed to the point of needing to use more creative measures. Where he doesn't mind mundane routine tasks and obligations, the break to actually get some action in is always welcomed.

"Please - continue to underestimate me. It'll make this even more amusing."
Reiryoku Level & Spirit Class: Great (Spirit Class 3)

Kōtetsuyama has always had a high-level of spiritual power but had a further awakening after a clash with a powerful hollow that lead to his own injury and the death of his twin. That encounter that left lasting scars further bolstered his reserves but at a cost that did not equate to that transition. Kōtetsuyama's power is a formidable force that is fed even more so by his ambition and determination to win. It steels his defenses, empowers his attacks, and strengthens his spells. Some may be surprised to witness such a young looking soul exhibiting such a level of influence, but his years of experience and persistent training tell it all.

This particular shinigami's stature is actually rather deceitful as the force behind his actions are earth sundering. Kōtetsuyama has outmatched opponents multiples of his size with ease, stopping strikes with a single hand and sending them flying with just that same limb. Kōtetsuyama's nature forward facing kindness and soft appearance enshroud the powerhouse of physical strength that he exhibits. Though in battles where a direct assault is unwise or alternative measures must be taken, he wields the same capabilities within his craft for spell work, making both offensive and defenses easily adaptable.

Reiryoku Control:
Expert
unnamed.png

Kōtetsuyama has spent countless centuries ensuring his control was as fluid as each breath he took. The ability to taper back his power to a whisper or let it soar to new heights in the heat of the moment. His spiritual energy is never wasted, as he has such a perfected understanding that he can make the most out of the least. This allows for him to extend fights even if he is outclassed in reserves, opting to focus on efficiency of his actions until he can do otherwise. Training this in skill in the heat of battle or in a sparring session is of course one way he did so, but another was challenging himself to do seemingly arbitrary tasks as creating a hundred consecutive barriers with the least amount of strain.

Reiatsu Description:
Panophobia
unnamed.png

Those that find themselves intoxicated by Kōtetsuyama's spiritual pressure may find themselves developing an overwhelming fear of everything. Every shadow could conceal a threat, the air could toxic, your very skin could be infested with thousands of tiny insects. The fear itself doesn't exist in certainty - you may very well know it isn't true... but there in lies the possibility. The possibility that something lurks in waiting, wanting to gnaw flesh from bone. There is never a hundred percent chance that something isn't happening so what if this was the moment its a reality.

Anxiety attacks are common in those slightly attuned to handling exposure to spiritual power but those with less hardening may find themselves acting irrationally, hallucinating their greatest worries, or maybe even collapsing under the overwhelming panic.

Hakuda: Expert

Every movement made by the Kobashigawa's youngest soul is as meticulously curated as they are effortless. Every strike is composed to dismantle, break, off-set, or defend a combatant with surgical precision. He can adapt his moves on the fly, adjusting the trajectory of his movements with refined pinpoint recalibrations, ensuring even in a split seconds notice he can adapt and overcome. His body moves like a fluid, shifting and flowing through motion after motion, but carrying with it the ability to reshape the very lands themselves. Every inch of his being is a weapon to be used.

Kōtetsuyama worked endlessly to reach an ideal level with
Hakuda (白打, White Hits), not only to handle conflict with a minimalistic approach but to also compliment the nature of his other abilities. From a casual bout to a fight for life or death, Kōtetsuyama can employ the dances of countless martial styles and the lessons of souls that have come prior. His reflexes and speed are not exclusive from one another, allowing for even thoughtless actions to be just as trained. Whatever lies within his reach, can and will be torn apart by his grasp.

After centuries of cultivating this skill and his others, he seeks to master the most fearsome of this art. The Hakuda master's final war cry.

Kōtetsuyama has a strong foothold in the arts of high speed mobility, but his strengths lie mostly in optimizing his movements in the moment of attacking or defending. His general mobility using Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash Steps) is enough to keep up with most individuals and travel distances in a respectable amount of time, but by no means compares to those who spent more time honing this aspect of Shinigami training. To compensate for long distance struggles that may come from not presently having a mastery in this art, he has optimized short ranged bursts of speed to close gaps, exploit openings, and enhance the effectiveness of his offensive actions. His expression of Shunpo is deceptively skilled when in close quarters to him. Something he achieved through not only knowledge of form but general speed from his impressively toned musculature.

The potential of growing within this art is there but due to a lack of necessity and a desire to grow elsewhere, he invested in stacking his time elsewhere.

Kidō: Expert
unnamed.png

Kōtetsuyama is an odd case of a user of Kidō (鬼道, Demon/Spirit Way). Rather than become a well-rounded practitioner that knows every spell and relies on overwhelming offensive force, he works to instead becoming the pinnacle of a barrier constructor. This came from a necessity of counter balancing what he felt was already a heavy skew into offensive capabilities from his other techniques and his weapon's innate ability. All in an effort to provide the upmost aid to his allies. Of course there's the theory of a powerful offense functioning as an even better defense in some situations, but that is only under the assumption that the offense is even effective against the opposition.

On the other hand, a well constructed barrier never loses it's value. It can be utilized to a higher level of versatility than almost any other spell. Especially when used in tandem with other facets of one's repertoire. This fixation of barriers and a few similar Bakudō has also lead to him either creating or seeking other techniques that fall into his focus to make use of. Even if the spells themselves are not likely to see the light of day without consequences.

The level of barriers that Kōtetsuyama is able to create are so intricate and sought after that even others already versed in their construction seek instruction from him sometimes. Though the depth of how far he will offer knowledge is limited when it comes to him wanting to keep some form of an edge to himself.

Kōtetsuyama has displayed the ability to some to be able to create rapid consecutive barriers to use for mobility, defenses, and even offenses. He can do this with little to no visible movement and with an optimized level of spiritual energy. Lesser hollows can even be subjugated by the implosion of a barrier in an instant.

Techniques: Eishōhaki (詠唱破棄, Incantation Abandonment), Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, Twofold Incantation), Kōjutsu Eishō (後述詠唱, Spoken-After Incantation).

Known Spells: Daichi Ten'yō (大地転踊, Upturned Earth Dance), Kyokkō (曲光, Bent Light), Tenteikūra (天挺空羅, Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air), Hyapporankan (百歩欄干, Hundred Steps Guard Rail), Dankū (斷空, Splitting Void) and all known Barriers, Hanki (反鬼, Reverse Demon), and Sentan Hakuja (千反白蛇, Thousand-Coil White Snake), Noren Mekuri (暖簾捲り, Curtain Stripping), Jikanteishi (時間停止, Temporal Stasis),

Custom Spell: Gekidō (激動, Upheaval) - This ability is a barrier in nature but has a purpose other than defending or intervening. These particular construct manifests within another barrier and expands rapidly with great force, acting as a bulldozer to already forged defenses. It infiltrates the foundation like a virus entering the body before spreading, vibrating, and breaking away the occupying spell. The spell itself requires a great deal of precision but once unleashed its purpose becomes clear and is difficult to stop.

Custom Spell #2: Kanjokyoku (緩徐曲, Adagio) - A forbidden technique built off the lessons of other Kidō of similar effect. Kanjokyoku appears as a sphere that consumes an area, one that is a black as night itself. Nothing can be seen from the outside in, but from the inside out it filters light like a pair of sunglasses. Anything without a soul is subject to a temporal distortion that greatly slows it. Turning even the fastest flying objects into a slow lob reminiscent of a slowly floating balloon and anything less than may even appear motionless. The field itself also has another property that is less noticeable outright and that is the physical toll the space has on the body. While beings within are not slowed, their body is put under the strain of time wearing away quicker due to the weight of the actions being spread out through a longer timeframe.

Custom Spell #3: Tenchi (転置, Transpose) - Tenchi is more of a supplementary spell to be applied to already existing barriers. This allows for the practitioner to swap the location of two constructs already forged by the user. The caster of this spell will clap their hands together as if to pray to the gods before declaring the name of this ability, thus initiating the swap. The transition is instantaneous and does not alter or harm the barriers through the transfer. Obstacles or individuals caught within the space also do not impede the swap, causing instead the barriers to supersede that factor and plant themselves where they were commanded to be.

Zanjutsu: Journeyman
unnamed.png

Kōtetsuyama is fluent in the art of swordsmanship. Wielding two blades for his Zanpakutō has lead to him not only being skilled in the language of blades with one but also with both. He can multitask between the motions of both weapons, parrying attacks that come in with one and striking with the other. His attacks leave way for devastating ripostes and overwhelming successive slashes that seem unyielding between both traveling edges. His form with these weapons however are not conventional but instead more so riding on the back of improvisation. It is incredibly atypical for a Shinigami to have two weapons let alone be flawless in their usage if it were the case.

His undisciplined strikes hold him back a bit from a more stellar performance, but should not be underestimated. What lacks formalities and structure is still a guiding hand of death. His tricky and unpredictable motions are a tool in their own right. Those that underestimate his lack of mastery may not always be a crutch, but instead a knife in the dark.

Zanpakutō (斬魄刀)
unnamed.png

Zanpakutō Name: Kessoku (結束, Binding Bundle)

Kessoku appears as a set of matching standard katana. Nothing remarkable stands out about their make-up, excluding the wrappings around the hilt that are a brilliant white. Kōtetsuyama holsters both weapons on his left hip while sheathed. The origin of the second blade comes from a tragic tale, the death of its current wielder's beloved twin. On a mission that cost the other their life and left Kōtetsuyama with grave injuries, all that remained in one piece was the now emptied blade. At that time, the surviving twin did not fully encapsulate his sword spirit, unlike the one who lost their life. At that time, he held onto his deceased brother's weapon, as well as his own asauchi, ultimately leading to a peculiar imprinting on both blades. An unheard of phenomena brought forth his would be companion but split between the pair's vessels. One spirit existing as two with one representing growth and the other, reduction.

Zanpakutō Spirit: Both variations of Kessoku are playful in nature, but mostly when it comes to the prospect of crushing the will of others in the way of their master. One seeking the enjoyment of absolute domination of an opponent while the other is more in it for the chase. This leaves their approaches a bit contradictory, leading to some in-fighting between the two halves of the spirit. Though of some ironic twist, their goals often align in the end, leading to both of them providing equal contribution to any advice and desires.

They both have a fondness of Kōtetsuyama but not one that stands on its own, like a friendship or a familiar tie. Instead the spirits see themselves as the same as their wielder. Often forgoing external acknowledgements and instead favoring all encompassing terms like "We" when referring to either spirit or the guiding soul. If anything they act more like two sides of Kōtetsuyama's brain, a devil and angel on each shoulder. This symbiotic relationship is peculiar even to the Shinigami himself, as he understands both spirits' perspectives and often is on a similar page. This balancing act resembling his professional presentation and his battle hungry other self.

Zanpakutō Inner World

moon-night.gif

The inner realm of Kessoku appears a city in ruins with widespread overgrowth unraveling the buildings around. The ground with every step visually warps and bends as if rebounding to the impact of the visitor's footsteps, though texturally bares no changes. The sky is always perpetually night with the moon cast directly above, positioned as if it was an eye looking down on those within. The air itself smells like the contrasting nature of burning incense, the scent of enflamed wood and a pleasant after tone of something delightfully fragrant. There also seems to be a bunch of moths inhabiting the space. They can be seen flying about or just simply resting on the objects within. Every flap of their wings seems to distort the space around them temporarily.

Zanpakutō Release Phrase: Jōeijikan (上映時間, Showtime)

unnamed.png
Shikai (始解)
unnamed.png

In Shikai, Kessoku takes on the appearance of a pair of knuckle weapons on each of their wielder's hands. They appear similar to brass knuckles but have protective plating that covers a bit more of his hands making them almost like a set of half gauntlets.

Shikai Special Ability: The innate ability of Kessoku is one that in the simplest explanation bends, shapes, and disrupts space itself like a tangible object. This power functions similar to the distortion of a cameras lens, allowing its master to take hold of the space around them and reconstitute its shape as if they were guiding it along like a cloth or even a fluid. This alteration does not physically disrupt anything caught within the space and cannot bring harm directly to that which is in its influence. It instead operates by remolding the direction, length, and motion of space and what occupies it.

This means that Kessoku can redirect attacks, disrupt perception reliant on the rigidity of the distorted space, and even transform the concept of distance through expansion and compression. If an individual were to be indirectly distorted by this ability, it'd feel no different as nothing is actually happening to their bodies, though the sensation of observing spatial phenomena contrary to their direct input may be disorientating.

Offensively speaking, Kessoku offers the option of shattering space struck by its wielder as if he had broken a thin layer of glass or ice. That fragmentation being a distortion in its own right, bears no direct ability to injure, but the reaction from it can. The breaking of space affected by Kessoku results in a tremendous amount of concussive force being created. The intensity of this depends on the level of the destruction itself but can easily wreak havoc on others and the environment. This unconventional attack can cause blunt force trauma from the shockwaves alone that can shatter bone, rupture organs, and even level whole areas at greater intensities. An interesting interaction of this as well is the fact that this also means that neither Kessoku nor Kōtetsuyama needs to come in contact with a target for this to reap the benefits. Even allowing for it to slip beyond defenses in ways that can unravel a foe's previously solid protections.

Bankai (卍解)
unnamed.png

Kessoku (欠測, Missing Measurement)

In this state, Kōtetsuyama takes on an appearance similar to his dual spirits. Both halves of his body being overtaken by markings akin to their own and his hair lengthening as well. All color is stripped from his attire and the space around them for an incredible distance becomes overly saturated with color. His voice also becomes merged with that of the voices of both halves of Kessoku.

Bankai Special Ability: The ability of Kessoku's secondary release is actually one that is quite simple. Just as in Shikai, it functionally alters and distorts space around its wielder, in fact it still retains that ability, but it can now also act more aggressively in its changes. Adding to its capabilities is the compressing of space down within its influence to a tangible point. With lower input from Kōtetsuyama this trait can cause micro-compressions that simply alter the physical space an object occupies. While at greater levels it can lead to a whole area, object, individual, or attack being captured into what appears to be a small marble. Internally not much would appear to change except for any area beyond what was caught inside would appear as an endless and inaccessible void. Anything caught within this ability cannot act on the space outside the zone of compression, just as nothing from the outside can bring that which is inside harm. Kōtetsuyama can then from there decide to restore the affected back to where they were before, or instead to wherever the marble currently occupies. This adds an additional dimension to this ability, effectively giving him to ability to keep everyone guessing on what comes next. The range of influence of this ability is tied to his proximity and the amount of spiritual power he wants to expend to extend that range and duration. A direct touch from him by any means can be instantaneous and carry with it an inevitable result.
