One of the towers collapsed completely into the earth in a colossal show of destruction, now a shamble of ruin. Its descent seemed to be what would have brought about the downfall of its erector if logic followed suit but when it came to Omoni, logic had very little say.

SHUNK
BWWSSHHHH

“And for faaaaaaarr–”

A glorious flash of blazing white exploded outward and Omoni’s arm cleaved through the Arrancar’s neck, not with grace, not with precision but with brute, unstoppable savagery. The sound was wet. Bone and flesh giving way beneath her armored elbow as it sets Emillia’s head tumbling free, expression likely frozen in disbelief.

As it toppled toward the ground she was spinning again, this time more helpless than the last. When her quickly fading vision would finally be able to fixate on something it would have certainly been the slew of misfits in the tenth who had slain her. It left her with mere moments to think about how she ended up the way she had.

She hadn’t been able to avoid Jinnosuke’s chains.
The chains did not only have a chance to coil around her, they did.
She hadn’t been able to overpower or cast off Omoni.
She hadn't been able to avoid Kuwashii’s white hot justice.
She hadn’t even been able to chastise their Captain well.

What had been the proverbial nail in Emillia’s coffin had been her total lack of understanding of Omoni's Bankai. This wasn’t confusing either, considering that enemies with little to no knowledge of the other’s abilities often had endings like the one Emillia did.

When one tower was destroyed, it took all of the damage being dealt to Omoni and her allies. This did not kill Omoni for this was the tower’s sacrifice to ensure that Omoni and all that she was protecting remained untouched and able bodied to continue to fight. So although Omoni was subjected to the lethality of what should have been done to her. She did not. She was not frozen and shattered, or overheated and melted and her body did not undergo any kind of damage throughout the entire fight. This was all it was, the neglect to rid her of the Shinigami piled on top of her for a multitude of instances. The mistake was to rely on the miscomprehension that everything she was doing would have sufficed to escape them but it was not and now the toll for her troubles had come for.

Even as the body collapsed, she slammed her boot down, cracking ribs and flattening the corpse’s chest. Hageshi was done with that filthy bitch hollow and ready to move onto the next one.

Omoni laid on the ground, passed out, mumbling words of victory. Yet she had been laying there on the ground, her arm gone—gone from the force she had used to push against Emillia’s body. She had chosen to take the full brunt of the ice that was absolute zero. Normally, if it was just a second, it would have been fine. Yet it was the time she held onto Emillia while Jinnosuke was down for the count. She had held on the moment Emillia was encased in ice. She had held on when her body was beginning to be covered in that same ice, all of which was on Omonis own accord.

How much time passed? If one had to tell, it would be a minute. And in that minute of being fully covered—within the first few seconds—Omoni’s cells were dying and healing at a fast rate, then dying again. Ice crystals formed to shred the cell membranes, her nervous system was stopped and started due to her Bankai’s healing, repeating the process over and over again. At the 10-second marker, her skin was becoming brittle. Her bones? They had lost their flexibility and started to break, heal, then break again.

Twenty seconds—her organs began to fail as they were freezing solid. Her lungs became brittle, and each movement of them had them breaking, dying, and healing. The repeated pain continued and persisted, as she was healing and dying at the same time.

Thirty seconds in? Her tissue cells had solidified fully, making movement difficult. By 45 seconds, her body was still healing from the towers, but the repeated process of this kept on happening. Every single second had been a death sentence—every single bit of it alone was enough for her towers to break. At the minute marker, this had been repeating enough times that her towers were breaking and crumbling down to the point where there was only one left.

All of this was working her towers into overtime just to keep Omoni alive. When the flames came from Kuwashii, she had caused Omoni’s situation to turn for the worse, as now her frozen cells began to form into gas—instantly rupturing everything. Her bones were shattering inside of her body and spreading across it. Her healing had brought it back, but it wasn't enough to fully repair her—just enough to keep her alive. But already damaged across her body, the force she used would cause her arm to shatter. This shattering was only because the arm that held onto Emillia’s icy form throughout the process was, effectively, dead. With Omoni’s inability to control the ice like Emillia could—and her healing now taken away—she had fallen forward when she pushed, shattering her arm entirely.

There Omoni laid, body broken from all the stress she had been under—from being at absolute zero to higher temperatures in such a rapid rate—it would be her defeat, as her towers crumbled away by this point. Her armor shattered, and with that, her Bankai broken. If she didn’t get medical attention soon, she would find herself dead.

As for Jushiro, he saw that Emillia was able to adapt to the elements in such a rapid manner that he realized he should have attacked once she was released. Though he was lost in his thoughts—lost in looking for someone that wasn’t going to come. Thinking of things rather than reacting to the moment, the captain’s mind left wandering. When her image appeared, he didn’t react to anything that was happening in front of him, her ice form showing once more as the image on Jinnosuke disappeared entirely just before it could make contact with the man.

Her hand still glowed as she thrust it forward. It came in contact with Jushiro’s neck, the force strong enough to crush his windpipe before her Cero was released. At such close range, the buildup of her Cero Oscuras was unleashed directly onto Jushiro’s neck and head. The blast was wide enough that it wouldn’t be feasible to simply adjust or dodge. As the blast went off, the power was enough to rip through reiatsu armor, muscle, skin, and bone—leaving nothing behind but a corpse falling to the ground.

As the body fell, her free hand moved to grip the coat, pulling it free and holding it high.

“You said you were going to do something?”

“What was it now? Something about kicking me?”

“Yet you decided to keep your distance from me. Were you afraid that you’d die faster?”

“You didn’t put up a fight, but at least you gave me a prize to come home with.”

“Time to let Las Noches’ dogs loose and see what HE is up to.”

Her hand extended forward as she slid the 10th Division jacket onto herself. Her arm lifted, and her finger lightly tapped the air. A large Garganta opened up, from which an army of Arrancar poured in—quickly advancing toward Kuwashii and Jinnosuke. By the time they had begun to move, Emillia had already started walking away from everything, her icy form fading as her body began to return to its normal self. Her image flickered as she appeared next to her Zanpakutō, then flickered again near one of the broken towers. The gap between the flames allowed her to move through, and with one final flicker, she disappeared from sight.

With everything transpiring the way that it has thus far, it was a reminder to the Captain why he hated fighting alongside allies. His Zanpakuto could only accommodate his allies for so long. Holding back in the name of protecting his squad members may have put him at a disadvantage. This was true in the case of Omoni, since he could only watch as the freezing temperatures took hold of Omoni and Emillia. Albeit the Espada was able to escape its clutches, only because of the faith that was placed in Omoni and Jinnouske especially. Was it misplaced? This was perhaps Omoni’s penance in response to her defiance. From what Izanagi ascertained, while the towers stood, she may yet live and be healed. This courtesy seems to extend to allies as well. So why should he concern himself with their wellbeing? Why not just do what he wanted to do from the get go? No. It was far too late for that. This was his failure and so the man must pay the price. This was punishment.

From the moment Emillia escaped Kisshouten’s freezing temperatures and adapted to it. He figured more or less that he had missed the opportunity to surprise her with a frontal assault. Even as he made some distance between them of five hundred meters as stated. Izanagi remained calm, appearing even woeful and perhaps lost in his own thoughts. All the while calculating his next move. Izanagi expected a few things from Emillia, most of this came about from their previous encounter in the world of the living. He remembered attacking her and her using a clone to escape his clutches. Only to return with a kick which sent him flying. In the midst of all that, a silly human aided her by robbing him of oxygen momentarily. Now wasn’t the time to dwell on the human, his focus was on her deceptive ways. This is why, as she moved from her position which was five hundred meters away. Izanagi kept a close watch on things. The static hummed, and the increase in its frequency did not throw him off her ‘scent’. She was fast, perhaps faster than most, but Izanagi was no slouch. And with his mastery of his Reikaku, he was able to follow her movements and match her for speed.

Emillia’s Sonido saw her changing steps, each step took her to a different spot, every other step had her changing mid direction. This was just a pattern for Izanagi and sooner or later the pattern will break to create an opening for Emillia. While the pattern was being maintained, Izanagi kept track of her movements as she made her way around Kuwashii several times. He was able to do so while watching his own back and throat at the same time. Emillia’s appearance behind Jinnouske and before Jushiro suggested that she was ready to attack. The masked one was not to be distracted by what may transpire between Emillia and Jinnouske. He figured more or less that Emillia would rather kill the Juubantai Taicho. Others wouldn’t fetch the same price as a ‘trophy’. Already tuned in to Emillia’s movements and understanding the pattern. The Halo in his hand vanished like previously stated before Emillia’s hand could wrap itself around his throat. She’s definitely a freak but one must digress. Unbeknownst to Izanagi, the Espada wanted this kill all to herself. As such the static which hummed and continued to hum was merely for theatrics at this point. She had made herself known, but Izanagi had already honed in on her moments before she made her move. A mixture of high speed movements with a combination of clones. But no matter how realistic those clones were, like the one which appeared behind the green-haired Shinigami. His senses weren't about to be thrown off by this. He spent too much time honing in on friend and foe over quite some distance to be so easily fooled. The smallest amount of Reiatsu or Reiryoku was picked up by him. Whether he was in combat or merely relaxing did not matter, it was still the same outcome. It was part of his training and it was part of the reason why his Reikaku was at the absolute pinnacle.

Unknown to Izanagi, Emillia wanted to blast his head off and relieve him of his Hoari. After which point she would unleash hordes of Arrancar upon the southwest region of the Seireitei. Perhaps further proof of her desire to kill the man. As Emillia appeared before Izanagi to grab him by the throat. The ceremonial garb which was meant to freeze the opponent was a foolish and yet clever move on his part. Maybe that was one way to lure in an opponent which had already adapted to Kisshouten’s freezing temperatures? It didn’t matter, since what the man had planned meant it was too late now for Emillia. She was committed, and as such the moment she attacked, Izanagi flash stepped away from her grasp, only to reappear some 25 meters away from where the incident took place. His eyes fixated on the enemy, all the while keeping tabs on the static hums and what they signify. By this point another one of Omoni's towers had collapsed. And as two remained standing, Izanagi chose not to concern himself with her wellbeing.

She should be fine, that is what he gathered. The battle itself was dragging on and even worse, the silver-haired Captain has yet to really dip his toes in it. It was now Emillia's move, although Izanagi's personal perferrence was to have her to himself.

The Arrancar’s head hit the dirt with a wet thud, lifeless eyes staring up into the blood-soaked dusk. Omoni’s breath heaved like a furnace, her elbow-blade slick with gore, body steaming with rage and heat.

Or so that was what Omoni had expected to happen. Contrary to the belief of the Espada, the three towers that still stood saved that woman from any damage her stubbornness might have caused her. Although her body would ordinarily undergo the devastating process Emillia presumed she was, the truth was that Hageshi herself experienced none of it. The monster of the tenth that had come to confront the lesser creature from Hueco Mundo was not downed but she was proportionally disassembled.

As Emillia made her way to each of her allies, Omoni lunged to follow her but realized something was wrong. She was off balance, and only when she looked down at where the arm that had once seized her enemy was did she realize it was no longer there.

This revelation caused the brute to do something she wouldn’t normally do and that was to pause.

Around her, the attacks of the espada did nothing to whomever she targeted. The third tower cracking and crumbling in response instead. Jinnosuke was unharmed, Kuwashii was afforded the same and their captain appeared to be holding his own without suffering injury so the towers did not take him into their account. By then, her wound had sealed itself and continued to harbor her blood. The woman was not unfazed but it had nothing to do with the espada’s words or actions. It was herself.

Omoni Hageshi. Many have called her beastly, many have called her an idiot and some just think she’s insane. However, there was one thing that all agreed upon and that was that she was a one woman army. When she saw red, she could be unleashed and guaranteed to bring a Calvary to its knees.

Abruptly, her entire body trembled, like an over-pressurized dam. Her eyes dilated blood-red and locked in the direction of the vanished foe.

She looked down at the missing limb, furious, snarling like a caged beast and then Her arm began to grow back.

Muscle tore through her skin, ligaments writhed and knitted together with grotesque speed. Flesh pulsed, bone cracked back into place as if time itself had been reversed. Her dark armor spread over the new limb like oil over fire, plates snapping into place violently.

In the blink of an eye, she was whole again.

The earth beneath her feet shattered from the sheer force of her reiatsu exploded outward. Anger rising by the second, she barreled into the army of hollow and went to work dismantling them. Anyway they looked she was there, using their own and the bodies of their own to beat them apart as if they had become Namakizu’s cudgel. Brutality was an insufficient word to describe what she did to them, punishing them for obeying their cowardly master in what could only be described as a cruel frenzy. She was taking out every ounce of her fury on them and within a few short minutes, the once formidable army of hollow meant to lay siege upon the seireitei now laid in heaps of broken gore at her feet.

The final tower fell, its sound almost concussive. The armor, coated in bits and pieces of the hollow’s remains and dripping with copious amounts of blood, burned away in a blue flash of flaming reiatsu to reveal Omoni once more. Every one of them were rejuvenated completely, spiritual power depleted had been returned.

Omoni’s anger had not. Though it might seem impossible, it was continuing to rise and her Reiryoku responded in kind by rising with it. Even if she wasn’t hurt, she still considered what Emilia had done to be a slight against her and Hageshi wouldn’t stand for it. To add insult to injury, the arrancar had fled while she’d been busy obliterating the hollow. Slinking away like a snake or a dog with its tail between its legs. There was little more that disgusted Omoni than a sniveling coward after all.

Namakizu, as furious as her wielder, bellowed out from within.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GO AFTER HER!”
584b818cdd492076e0e8410cd0136052.png

“YOU AINT’ GETTIN’ AWAY THAT EASY!!!”

Within seconds and without command, Omoni too charged off into the distance after her foe and soon vanished from sight.

All of the ruckus Emillia had caused, all of the damage she’d tried to do had been for nothing. She had accomplished nothing. Then, satisfied with her inadequacies, she chose to flee. A pack of blood thirsty hollow now pools of destruction left to remember her uselessness.

Frozen, that is the state Kuwashii was in, not because of the cold chill radiating in the air she was unaffected by that by producing her own heat. She was frozen because she couldn’t find an opening to strike back and was waiting on orders to strike as well just as she did last time. Everything was so chaotic in her eyes, Emillia using her speed to confuse and possibly frighten anyone who would fall for it and in that moment Omoni's counter attack was launched. The display of speed put on by the Espada didn’t make Kuwashii flinch, it meant nothing to her if she didn’t attack. But in that moment Kuwashii noticed Omoni’s arm missing, the blur of speed clones had blocked her view of what had transpired when she attacked but whatever happened she lost an arm as a result. Kuwashii’s eyes widened with shock that Omoni would lose a limb so abruptly. No longer concerned with finding an opening she lunges forward, opting for recklessness instead of careful observation but as soon as she moved the Espada was gone.

In that brief instant the Espada also made an attempt on her Captain’s life. He made it out of the attack unscathed thankfully but her focus was now on chasing down the Espada before she went off to cause chaos somewhere else. She looked around at everyone who was still up and able to fight and began gritting her teeth.

”Captain! We need to go after her! Right now!!!”

It came out as more of a demand than a suggestion. She wasn’t filled by a need for battle but for duty and to not let an enemy have free reign of travel in their home. Her frustration was beginning to build in this moment because of idle hands doing nothing. Omoni was the first to charge off, in the wrong way sadly.

”Hageshi-san! That's the wrong- Damn it!!!”

Her voice cracked as she shouted her last words, even slamming her massive blade into the ground, imbedding the blade into the ground and cracking whatever tile was left around the impact site. She would have gone off after Omoni but she was already gone and with her current level of Shunpo she wouldn’t be able to keep up with her. Her next thought was to try and sense where Emillia had gone to, no luck, either she is concealing it or is too far for her sensing ability. Her eyes shift around sensing the Hollow’s still around and closing in on their position, she knew Shinigami were still fighting to kill the Hollows but until she was given orders by her Captain she couldn’t exactly make a move. She looks to her Captain once again and the thought of Kisho pops into her mind.

“Pathetic but not unexpected. A hammer is useless unless used by someone else. A sword cannot swing without being held. You, like those things, are but a tool, a useless one but a tool all the same. Find your master so you might have some worth, tool.”

She freezes for a moment, stands up straight and just quietly walks away, heading into the fray of Hollows and lesser Arrancar, assisting her fellow Shinigami in combat. She will prove herself to be more than just a tool, she is a being of worth and value. She will decide when she swings her blade and it will be against any who dare commits wrong doings against the Soul Society. She will decide who lives and dies and all these Hollows are sentenced to death and her blade will be the guillotine that doles out that sentence. That burden of waiting for orders, that burden of having to do what she is told, that encumbrance of having to follow others has finally been lifted. So long as she can get stronger and protect what needs to be protected nothing else matters. A soft smile forms on her face. She feels free.

Dissatisfied. That was Izanagi’s current state, as it suddenly felt as if the trouble of releasing his Bankai was all for nothing. The enemy had made an attempt at his life but was unsuccessful. In some ways it felt more like a game of cat and mouse. However, Izanagi now viewed the Emillia as nothing but prey. Watching all that transpired, no hollow brought harm to him, no stray Cero found refuge in his vicinity. All the while the towers replenished whatever wasted energy was put forth earlier. He understood a little more about Omoni’s Bankai and its effects. It was certainly useful, however their coordination needed work. That was partly Izanagi’s fault but seeing how things happened. He felt justified in not widening his scope of attack. If only Omoni’s Bankai wasn’t so new to him, perhaps that the enemy would be laying dead.

There was no time to dwell on the past, no point fussing over spilled milk. He didn’t need Kuwashii to make demands of him to chase down the enemy. It was the Captain’s duty to hunt and slay the enemy. It’s his duty to eliminate all threats to the Seireitei. It’s his duty to avenge the mockery of the tenth division and by extension the Seireitei itself. More importantly, it’s his duty to retrieve the soul king part that the enemy has. The Shinigami cannot allow such a thing to go unpunished. This is why as soon as Emillia’s little army of Hollows appeared. The two halos shrunk down in size and formed a triple ring lock, intertwined with one another. Izanagi now had three rings or halos, one within the other behind him. Meanwhile, his Reikaku kept track of Emillia, even while she went off into the distance and at speed. Izanagi made sure not to lose track of her.

The black mask remained blank, no animations on its surface to indicate any emotion coming from him. He felt no joy, nothing witty came to mind. He simply had one mission, hunt the enemy down. In some way he was glad to see Omoni heading in the wrong direction. She will have to catch up, and as for Kuwashii. Izanagi wasn’t about to let her run off and be a part of some meaningless battle. She was coming with him. Through use of his mastery of flash steps. Izanagi appeared next to Kuwashii as she attempted to get involved with dealing with hollows. His speed was something to marvel at. And now Kuwashii will get an idea of what it means to travel as fast as a master flash step user can.

“Take a deep breath”

Was the only warning given to Kuwashii, as the temperature around him was now far more pleasant. In that moment Izanagi and Kuwashii began to vanish from sight courtesy of Bakudo 26. The kido masked their presence, making it nigh impossible to sense them. And as that happened, Izanagi grabbed hold of Kuwashii’s shoulder and vanished. The speed at which they moved was perhaps unlike anything Kuwashii had ever experienced before. One step alone was able to cover great distances. Nothing more needed to be said. No orders needed to be given, the mission remained the same.

The enemy must be hunted.
