Imagination. Something so revered by many that they often believed the versatility it afforded is all they so desperately needed to protect themselves, and yet that too was not enough, for the captain of Thirteenth could not fathom the true raw power of the Gran Rey Cero as it ripped through her defenses. The captain and her cowardly subordinate Keniro had stalled too long, their faith sorely misplaced as Cordelia’s Gran Rey Cero consumed them-there one second, gone the next and nothing left, not even shreds of the captain’s haori, their existence as shinigami nothing more than a tragic, cautionary tale.

The Danku cast by the young red-headed shinigami might have bought them enough time had it been cast sooner and by someone with far more extensive training and mastery over Kido, but alas it did nothing to save the two from their fate. Had the stray shinigami from twelfth not been immediately on her way, she too could have easily been swept into the destruction.

Cradled by her dark abyss, Cordelia’s reiatsu surged outward as she unleashed her resurreccion form. While the remaining members of the division had made it out of the blast, Cordelia’s reiatsu would bear down upon them as they retreated, crushing their lungs as they felt the sensation of plunging deep into the oceanid Espada’s lair.

As her liquid appendages swept the ravaged division, Cordelia swam to the top of her personal trench-the water becoming deadly calm-breaking through the crest of the water she lifted her hand into the air and summoned forth another Garganta. The sky split open and countless arrancar of varying sizes stormed the division, making their way deeper into the barracks. Had she been the first to summon her hoard? Normally she would let her mind wander to thoughts of the others, but she didn’t have that luxury right now.

Cordelia’s eyes narrowed as the remaining members of Thirteenth’s reiryoku became distorted. She’d never experienced anything like that, but her lips twitched at the corners as she fought the urge to grin as another shinigami made their approach to the division, this one seemed intent on staying to fight. Sinking back down into the water, she slipped into one of the waterways she’d created.

She didn’t bother to quell her raging reiatsu-they already knew she was there and any little advantage it gave her was something she would gladly accept. As she followed the path closer to the where the distortion had cut her off from her prey, the ever so present gnawing in her core intensified. She hungered and if they wouldn’t come to her, she would go to them-heading into uncharted waters.

Every fiber of the newly minted Lieutenant’s being screamed at her to run, not away from the chaos around them, but back to her division. Everything felt wrong, but still she powered on ahead. She had to focus, the thirteenth division was left in capable hands. Her shoes made soft clinking against the rooftops as she sped toward her destination. With one last push off from the roof, she vanished, reappearing moments later beside Hideo Shihoin. Her eyes drifted skyward as snow began to fall around them.

How peculiar. She turned her attention to the battle laid out before them and understood. The snow and cold was Lieutenant Gekka’s doing. She’d arrived just in time to miss his release of his reiatsu, but the cold still sent a shiver down her spine and her breath came out in clouded puffs.

”Eclipse the stars, Tsukuyomi.”

Tomi’s fingers tightened around her zanpakuto’s hilt and in one swift movement, she drew her crescent moon blades. Her voice was soft, carrying with it the reverence she now felt for that phrase. Her grip tightened around their crystalline handles, her knuckles turning almost imperceptibly whiter. The sound of shattering ice filled the silence between the two as they observed. Tomi’s gaze raked over the scene before them, from the shattered ice field to the shinigami attempting to cordon off the area so no one could interrupt the fight.

Her lilac gaze shifted to Hideo’s profile as he murmured about it being off that the arrancar would show up alone. He wasn’t wrong. Tomi had only encountered Ximena briefly but it seemed out of character for the woman to go anywhere without hundreds more hollow lurking about or waiting in the wings.

”For that one in particular to be alone feels wrong. They must have their army waiting elsewhere.”

One blade rested upon Tomi’s shoulder as the other lightly touched the rooftop-her eyes remained on Hideo. The turn in his expression raised alarms in her head. What was it that he was concerned the arrancar might have? Her attention finally turned fully back to the fight before them. She was itching to have another go at the woman before her. She’d only been afforded the chance to hit her and run before because the people of Karakura needed her, but now her duty was to defend the Seireitei at all costs and she would be sure to do just that.

Ren’s chest still ached from the force of Gyōja’s shunpo. The sudden transition had left her disoriented, breath caught halfway between a gasp and a scream—but they were alive. Somehow. The meeting hall was gone, the training ground torn apart, and the silence that followed the Gran Rey Cero blast rang louder than the explosion itself.

Mist clung to the air like a veil, but it did little to smother the scent of smoke, ash, and burning stone.

“Ren, listen closely. We’re going to need to rely on Kidō here. I hate to say it but, I don’t have a bankai to help us, and I know you don’t have one either. Tell me about your zanpakutō, as quickly as possible.”

Her name brought her back to the present. Ren blinked once, then again, fingers tightening around Amanozako’s hilt. The thunder of panic still beat in her ears, the echo of death still hanging in the air.

Her chaotic mask threatened to slip entirely. Just for a breath.

“I-I…” Her voice cracked, then steadied “It’s a segmented whip . She splits into separate blades but they all stay connected. Invisible electric charge keeps ’em in line, ya know, like nerves in a body.”

Even as she spoke, the whip in her hand fragmented, pieces humming to life with static fury. The blades floated around her and Gyōja, crackling with residual lightning, responding to her breath and will.

“She stretches, retracts, slams, coils. never one shape. Can harden into a straight blade if I need her to. Or shield me. If anyone gets too close.”

Then another appears.

“Gyōja Kuchiki And accomplice.”

Ren’s eyes shot toward the speaker—and widened.

He had the body of a man, but the head of a white dog. Or maybe a wolf. She didn’t know. It was the kind of weird that would’ve made her laugh in any other situation. But-

“I’m not a damn accomplice!” she snapped without thinking. “I’ve got a name! It’s Ren, ya mangy—“

Her childish words would be drowned out by:

“The rest of the Fifth is scattered across the Seireitei helping with battles where it can, and I’d like to lend a hand here. What’s the situation right now?”

Ren didn’t respond to him.

Something clicked.

During that frantic, high-speed blur through the air, something had been flickering beneath the debris and devastation. Something familiar. Her eyes narrowed.

What did she call that thing again? watery bastard—no, watery freak—back when the chaos started… She remembered it now. The shimmering foundation, the creeping tide. This wasn’t random. That Arrancar was controlling it.

She was using water.

And if that were true…

She brought one palm close to her center, keeping the other firmly wrapped around Amanozako’s handle. A soft glow sparked to life in the cupped center of her free palm—just a flicker of golden light building. Her lips moved quickly, but no words could be heard.

To some it would just look like she was adjusting herself but to others with a keen eye will note her stance. Despite her inexperience, she was an expert in Kido. And if Gyōja said they needed to use Kido in this then so be it.

The air around her grew thick, charged.

But still, blades floating in a slow circle around her and Gyōja, orbiting like storm clouds. Ready to strike.

The world slowly came to a standstill around her as the reiatsu felt like it died down upon her release, but in reality, it was compressed and condensed into a small compact veil. The hubris of the shinigami continued to amuse her, thinking they were the ones who stood on top, they were the self-righteous ones to declare who the villains were in their narrative, and above all else, they were going to be the saviors of Soul Society. All around two of them as the battles waged on, the shinigami's lives continued to get snuffed out, and this brave Lt, who looked upon her with mournful eyes, came to the sad reality that it wasn't her death he mourned. Ximena, like the other Espada who invaded the shinigami homeland, came playing for keeps, each with their resolve on why they joined the war, yet they acted with better cohesion in this war, contrary to their adversaries.

Perception. She wondered what he saw when she touched the wall. Where he expected careless destruction from her actions, creating an icy mist instead, only the cold air as the wall itself got shrunken down to bismal size before getting reduced to dust. The icy form which suddenly appeared upon her in hopes of cutting her down in one swift motion landed on its mark, Ximena. Well, that is at least what would be perceived by Oyuki and the two new arrivals to the showdown, hoping to put a stop to the Arrancar doing as they pleased. The silenced static sound from his domain masked her movements, the only tell of what was to come from Gemelos Sonido as the image faded away after receiving damage. The icy domain hoped to leave Ximena rendered motionless, but the reality he foresaw would be shattered. To someone who lacked mastery in hand-to-hand combat, it appeared she attacked with reckless violence. To those who didn't grasp the mastery of martial arts, they mistook her calm demeanor as lackadaisical care. In that same instance, Oyuki felt no connection or control over his icy wraith, completely stolen from him. Ximena conjured forth a power that far exceeded Bankai, and even her Ressurecion using the Soul King's lungs to claim the icy wraith construct fully under her control, giving it actual life. Immediately, after the newly claimed golem made its way to the two onlookers observing, it still maintained the mock form of Oyuki. What appeared to be an aide coming to join the two soon became a surprise assault on them. Just like that, in the blink of an eye, welcoming changed with the icy wraith making one clean slash to slit the two throats without hesitation. If it's surprise attack succeeds or not, the ice wraith form starts to reconfigure into a sleek ice golem with sharp edges, taking on a more agile, deadlier form.

The queen's wrath. If his opponent had happened to be anybody else, his execution may have been flawless. While one released focused its power to affect the area around him, the other compressed her power, focused around her. However, unlike the shinigami, when Arrancar release their power, they undergo a complete change. In the case of Ximena, her insect physiology heightened both her instincts and senses. The moment she recognized her challenger, she understood this was a battle of attrition, knowing prolonged combat was not in her advantage. She focused her reiryoku throughout her body, augmenting her titanic strength further, and used cero to propel herself even faster with the use of sonido. Unlike the foolish shinigami who hesitated to use their full power, Ximena had no plans to waste on constructs, but went directly for the source. The hardened energy that encased her fist began to distort the air around them, with her life force being infused into it, crackling with energy. As Oyuki suddenly found Ximena ten feet in front of him, she unleashed out barrage of five Gran Rey Bala. The azure crescent blades of energy, unlike the cero, traveled at tremendous speeds and would continue to cleave their destructive path until clashing with the seireitei walls unless stopped. In the case of Oyuki, as the projectiles distorted space being sent out so close and the speed they traveled, he finds himself torn asunder, if he even hesitated for a second.

The tide of battle wasn't in the young Senko's favor; the enemy's attack was much more devastating than anticipated, instantly it broke through the captain Kasu's barrier. Keniro, tried to escape but moved to late as he was captivated by the enemy's power, not in fear but merely as a spectator who seemed invested in whatever they were watching. "So cool", he muttered to himself before he realized the attack was coming directly for him at an alarming rate; the young Senko would try to move only for it to be a little too late. He'd cross his arms to shield his torso from the initial impact as tried to leap out of the way however, the force of the gran ray cero proved to be a little too much for Keniro's injured body to push back alone. Such power he thought to himself. As his body was sent flying across the battlefield, he felt helpless unable to move a muscle, his vision began to blur, and this aching pain wouldn't stop throbbing in his forehead. The rest of his body felt numb.

Crash landing into wall just outside of the thirteenth division barracks he was sure he was about to pass out, barely able to keep eyes open as the blood leaked from his forehead now dawning a crimson mask on one half of his face.

"I....I'm... not..." trying to speak but only able to let out so much as a whisper, reality began to set in and Keniro began to feel the pain of all his injuries. His eyes twitched a tried to fight to keep them open.

"I'm..."

Falling unconscious before he could finish his sentence the young Senko lied there in a pile of rubble incapacitated and his zanpakto's bankai would finally deactivate returning to its sealed state. Keniro's bandage would fall off revealing his wounds that had been inflicted by his own flesh and blood, the bandages were now covered in both new and dried blood. Still his heart remained beating as his brain function was still intact. To avoid death by facing it head on or running away were the only to option the young Senko had here and he seemed to suck at doing both just barely surviving on his own. Still there was hope for his survival had the others survived. All he could do for now was hope the other were able to survive and wish them the best. Before he would pass out, he could stop feeling that he was pathetic finally developing a sense of honor he angry with himself for not taking his training serious enough from the beginning had he done so maybe, just maybe he could've prevented all of this from happening. He remembered being scolded about his potential and taking it for granted. This was the results of his slacking, blaming himself for the devastation caused for the thirteenth division Keniro had shed a single tear before blacking out.

Nanami's device went off, and she looked down at the screen, seeing a message directly from her lieutenant.

"
Nanami, this is a crucial time, don't act irrationally, and keep your emotions in check. Study what you can about the enemy, and don't be afraid to direct them if you feel confident in a plan. Cohesion and harmony are the course of victory."

She nodded at this request. Of course, she would obey, after all, he was her lieutenant, and she dreaded to think about the consequences of disobeying him. This, in turn, caused her to breathe in and out to calm whatever nerves she had inside of her. She touched the illuminated screen beneath her fingertips, tracking cameras as she could see around the Seireitei as a whole. The first camera she looked at was around the Teneth division. She heard that's where the first attack was from one of the reports from her other division members. She studied the screen closely, getting a good zoom into a pink-haired woman who was an enemy.

She watched the young Kazuki, who turned out to be the nephew of some sort, battling the woman. Of course, this, in turn, led the enemy to be the victorious one, after hearing her demands for the captain. Ah, how disappointing, a former lieutenant to be somewhat easily beaten by the enemy. Her eyes looked at the screen in pity. He was so young compared to her, and her eyes remained pitying the poor, dead boy. She saw the green-haired male, who was the next opponent for Nanami's sake, and she hoped he could beat the wicked woman. But two others had joined in, a woman and, by looks of things, Captain Izanagi. Oh, they should win, 3 vs 1. That would be interesting, yet in theory, Captain Izanagi can and could take on the Arrancar.

Of course, the next camera she decided to check on the Thirteenth division, there they were fighting a blue-haired Arrancar. She looked deeply into the situation where most of the thirteenth members were engaged in battle with her. Especially Captain Shinka, also a young boy, looks at things that he is barely 200 years old, blacking out cold, only to presume that he is dead. Shame, another young shinigami died in this horrific invasion. One thing she noticed was that the opponent was main source was water, which gave her the idea. She had developed technology for some Shinigamis to cope with water-based opponents. Nanami began to order her. Underlings.

"You there! Get the Aquatic respiratory equipment and get it delivered to the thirteenth immediately! Drop them by our delivery bugs!"

The shinigami shouted in unison at her order.

"YES, MA'AM!"

They all scrambled to get the equipment locked and loaded and employ the bugs that carried the somewhat small operators that helped fellow shinigami. Nanami's attention was then towards a nearby camera little further from the thirteenth, was Lieutenant Gekka's fighting another Arrancar that was Espada level. She could see he had an ice zanpakuto and could do better against opponents with water-based abilities, like she saw in the thirteenth. She swiped her screen to see others fighting as well. There weren't just five... multiple arrangers were coming and out of gargantas... what next full bringers? Quincys? Who knows...all the Shinigami can do is fight til death. She looked down at the desk where there were mysterious, cute stickers. She closed her eyes, thinking what it was saying... something about wearing them...Captain Shizukana...ah, something else, Nanami couldn't remember at this time being moment. She picked the stickers up and placed them on herself, She thought they were pretty cute and wore them with a little bit of confidence. She dragged out her device to message her lieutenant.

"Lieutenant. Update this is a mass invasion. Tenth and Thirteenth respectfully lost two members, Sazanami Kazuki and what could have been Keniro Senko. We know the main source of the attacker on the thirteenth, primarily water-based abilities have sent out support items for that."

Hubris wasn’t the right word to describe what transpired amongst shinigami and arrancar alike. One a beast born of sin the other a slave to the machinations of the universe. Yet somehow they were both the means to an end whether it was for themselves or the lives they were destined to cultivate was a matter of interpretation. Oyuki wasn’t mourning his opponent because of some sense of superiority or sad reality that he himself was going to potentially die in a battle, he was mourning the very life they had all built for themselves chasing after some ideal imposed upon them and unexpectedly snuffed out like a fire in the night. Ximena found her attempt at sonido and subsequently the natural born essence of its boom nonexistent. It would be as if the very life had been ripped from its unnatural vessel. Her step forward would only be that of one’s natural speed and as a result of that forced motion her body revealed itself to be under the weight of winter itself. Oyuki imposed something far greater than simply his reiatsu or even just the basic principle of his zanpakuto upon this woman. He had effectively fed her to the wolves, imposing an ice age like no other upon both her and the seireitei. The mewlings of ego and bravado were the only sounds that permeated within the silent landscape as it all likely would become apparent to Ximena just what was coming for her. When she found herself in the midst of her attempted escape she could find that her neck was indeed met with the blade of one of Oyuki’s wraiths, its blade only making it half of the way before its form gave way to nothing as it returned to the misty depths of their surroundings. She could find even as her body fell to the earth the icey landscape would encroach on her form even further the touch of the frosty blade of the wraith only a precursor to the results of her actions. No blood flowed from her neck, no bone openly exposed and yet what came was the chilling bite of winter itself. This woman had come as a challenger and as a result Oyuki was going to ensure she left as a corpse in due time.

Whoever had come to join the fray within the seireitei could find even their bellowing scream muffled once it reached Oyuki’s location. It would reach their position and upon doing so would be reduced to nothing at all as the only thing that met with Oyuki and Ximena’s position would be the soft rumblings of its aftermath. Ximena’s attempt at escape being met with the motionless aftermath even if only for a split second was all that was needed for the aftermath that followed. The bite of ice at her neck would infect her very being with the icy chill of winter. Where the blade met her being and subsequently the wraith disappeared she could find that her flesh and bone alike had been frozen solid. Not like a body being preserved in ice however, the flesh had become death itself. The cells of her body would intern begin to become lifeless unbeknownst to her not only had she given way to her own demise but Oyuki was no man of wasted investment. His actions were always calculated and precision instruments to handle his problems rather than the broad strokes of a painter's brush. Her body in several locations from the legs she stood on the very throat she used to breathe could find itself meeting the same fate. Her body inevitably becoming a frozen wasteland of its own in due time. However, even as time pressed. As for the seireitei around them? The very space their battle was taking place in? It was a frost scape like no other, a frozen beauty in its own right as their battle transpired. As for his comrades that awaited their opportunity to join the fray they would find their moment waiting for them just the same Oyuki’s own image amiss amongst the mist that coated the battlefield.

Had she somehow managed to claw her way into an act of folly and come to stand her ground against Oyuki she would find that the phantom of a man she stood against was no longer directly before her. Something about their situation had completely changed and it was only a matter of time before things became apparent. The silence of the mist was nothing less than haunting as even what could be her mewlings of fear and disdain would go unheard. To those observerving the battle from a far they would find their vision equally as obscured only being able to view silhouettes and reikaku alike. Oyuki was hunting this woman beyond just taking her life he wanted her mistakes to be apparent to her even in the moments before death truly came for her.

“It’s a segmented whip . She splits into separate blades but they all stay connected. Invisible electric charge keeps ’em in line, ya know, like nerves in a body.”
It took a moment, but Ren had manage to collect herself enough to provide the information he had requested. She continued on with her explanation and demonstration of her abilities though listening he turns his head, detecting something within the fog. Gripping the handle of his currently bladeless sword he relaxed moments after its detection.
“Gyōja Kuchiki And accomplice.”
While they had not worked together formerly, the speaker was not unfamiliar to the Kuchiki. He listens as Hyoroshi relays information regarding the movements of the Fifth Division before requesting a Sit-rep on their end.

"We were ambushed by an Arrancar, presumably an Espada. She fired a cero, a powerful one, it tore through over half our barracks. I moved to get Ren out of there, she's...still a bit inexperienced. The Captain and Keniro who was with her...they.."

He pauses briefly. Now wasn't the time to think of the worst for them, now wasn't the time to be worrying about anyone but the enemy for now.

"Right now, you're in the confines of my Shikai with us. Unfortunately neither Ren or I possess a Bankai. We're going to have to try and hold off until a Captain or someone with a Bankai can make it to us. That's the best case scenario, worst case...we have to try and take the enemy down using what we've got."

He lays it out plainly for their help, thankful for one more body to be able to assist. He once again wished that Tomi had remained with them, while he wasn't aware of what her Bankai did he knew she had one. He also leaves room for Hyoroshi to proclaim he possesses a bankai, but was prepared for even him to not have one. His eyes widened, sensing the massive reaitsu from the direction of the First Division.

"I have a plan, listen closely."

He moved in, the three huddled together as he relayed his thoughts, his ideas to them in hushed whispers and murmurings, just loud enough for them to hear.

KRAAAASCHHH

The bodies of Captain Kasu and Keniro came crashing and skidding afar back, blown back from the destructive force of the cero that tore through their defenses. The barracks ravaged, greatly ruined by the invader shown a grim light on the situation, and with two powerful souls, both capable of bankai worst for wear, this war had taken yet another shift in tide.

"Captain!?"

Various Shinigami, some greatly injured, supported by the uninjured and slightly injured. Worry filled their eyes, covered their faces to see not only a Captain like that, but their Captain. They looked back towards the barracks they had been blasted from as a result of the residual shockwave. Grabbing the Captain and Keniro, lifting their bodies up.

"W-we should get them to Fourth. Someone, send for help!"

Calling out as they began trudging along, struggling and rushing to distance themselves from what remained of their barracks...their home.

From the mist hundreds of rods shot out, almost haphazardly, embedding themselves in what remained of the structures of the Thirteenth Division, the ground, and some even in the water that had emerged and seemed to spread. The mist that covered the trio, hiding their form and reiatsu from the enemy seemed to be on the move now as well, like a floating cloud the foggy mist seemed to shift. The remnants of the loud scream that trickled their way, diluted further as it passed through the mist.

The reason behind the tossing of the rods was unknown, the action itself odd given the very nature and purpose of that binding spell. Their great numbers though scattered, still left a trail from where the mist had been prior to its shifting, each rod remaining rather than fading seemed to linger where they landed, humming as they shown a brilliant yellow. Both shinigami and Arrancar were hidden from one another visually. The battle had become a game of hide and seek, what were the shinigami up to and between the hunter and the hunted, which of the two did they fall in?

Hyoroshi's blood ran cold yet his expression steeled; he was well aware of the heights these Arrancar could reach from the research he'd conducted, but to think of Captain Kasu being felled with such ease, even caught off guard, felt almost criminal. Indeed, he thought, he mustn't let their opponent's apparent strength quake his constitution. As disparaging as the truth was, hours or days of preparation would have done nothing to save this Division; they were not built for head-on engagements with an Espada, let alone a full onslaught, much to Iwamura's melancholy.

He gazed out upon the Thirteenth's disaster as a whole with his ears yet fixated upon Gyōja. With subtly deepened breaths he watched the expulsion by explosion of Kasu and Keniro and the subsequent efforts of Shinigami desperate to save the lives of both men. A valiant effort in Iwamura's eyes, though now it was guaranteed: the trio was on its own, stranded with an approaching Espada and now countless Hollows, unless more help arrived.

The familiarity with their predicament was enough to draw a slight grin out of Iwamura.

"I might not have a Bankai," he muttered, lowering to one knee with Zanpakutō still in hand, "but I have this body of mine, and I have the experience. Depending on how we can pull things together, this is within the realm of plausibility. We needn't lose hope."

"Immolate, Boukuno Kibakigane."

3dc320070ed6d43035b35aa300c2655b.png

Within the cloud of mist another geyser of Reiryoku, previously suppressed, now properly entered the fray, though distorted and warped like the others. To his side pointing away from the Arrancar he held his released Zanpakutō by the chain and, with force, started bringing it around and around itself, gusts whipping and biting out and away from the others so as to minimize any disturbances of the cloud. As it moved so too did Iwamura, dashing from high point to high point, remaining in its obscuring embrace as it tracked along. Of Kuvello's shout Iwamura latently picked up on, though its sound was diluted to the point of conscious ignorance of the sound on Iwamura's part.

One revolution, two revolutions, three revolutions, four--with a rapid twist and cross of the arm, Iwamura whipped one of the blades upon a passing rooftop, striking a corner that faced Cordelia's presence. Almost immediately a heavy black chain sprouted from the roof; with blistering speed it bulleted towards the Espada's Reiatsu, a glow of sanguine and dull orange to its length, and lodged itself into the wall of a building nearby without effect.

Iwamura's eyes remained on the Arrancar's Reiatsu signature as the cloud continued along. All the while he had started to spin his Zanpakutō again, five, six, seven, waiting stalwart for the Espada's next move, flames dancing across his blades and the heat rising from any and all of its elements...

"Our invaders are using pieces of the Soul King. You can pass this information on if you see fit, but we don't know which they possess. I will try to assist which divisions I can."

Nanami received a message from Michiya, she took notes that were important to every shinigami that was in fighting. Without any hesitation, she immediately released another Bakudo #77 Tenteikura to every single shinigami that was fighting.

"IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE TWELFTH DO NOT IGNORE. THE ENEMIES GOT PIECES OF THE SOUL KING! PLEASE DEFEAT THEM AND OF COURSE BRING THE SOUL KING PIECES BACK TO US!"

Nanami yelled across the communication to everyone, as this was important information, thanks to the courtesy of her lieutenant. She felt an immense guilt for not participating in crushing the enemies to death, however... She knows that being a supportive role was just as important. She continued to observe, researching ways to gain control of the situation. There she has seen many Garguntas opening all around, of course...the twelfth folks aren't that stupid infact...

"1"

"5"

"13"

Nanami pressed buttons ranging from 1 to 13; there were subtle cannons hidden in divisions of the main buildings, aiming at the gargantuan. There, a bright blue beam of light came towards the rips in the skies, forcing the Gargantas to close, entrapping the oncoming lower arrancars, and hollows. Then she pressed another on-screen button, deploying multiple drones flying in various directions. Nanami programmed the drones to attack the enemies. To which the drones began shooting and destroying lower-rank arrancars, hollows, leaving them in dust.

Naturally, how did this technology come about? Of course...Nanami is constantly researching and striving to find ways to help the soul society from attacks like these. The cannons took Months, if not more, to install and test, making sure they were regulated properly. Of course, Nanami installed these as stealthily as she could; the only people who knew about these were Captain Commander and the twelfth themselves. The source of the power? Where did that come from, many would ask... Oh, how I would love to know that...it had to come from a spiritual source. Oh no..it wasn't Shinigamis...in fact, it was from hollows and arrancars she captured previously in the past. Drained all their Spiritual properties, leading them to death. Nanami's cruel research and experiments finally came into play after all these years.

"After all."

"A scientist must... experiment to get rid of the vermin."
