With both of her visitors in her small comfortable office, seeing the Lieutenant sitting down, while it appeared to him to be in defensive mode. Though she didn't understand why, she won't ask for a judge. Nanami entered her office, and instantly her automatic door silently closed behind them. There weren't any windows in the office, like the way Nanami liked it. She found having the sunbeams appearing from windows would distract her from working. She heard Fuyuko's voice giving a compliment about her office as well with a small critique, though she didn't hear a peep out of the male that accompanied the higher-up.

"It's so small here but it is so comfortable. I wouldn't mind an office like this. Though if i could I might opt for a window or two if I am honest. neither the less. it is comfortable in here."

Nanami thanked Fuyuko for complimenting her office as she walked to her chair, swinging her body momentarily towards her holographic screens where she had a dock on her desk designed for Denreishinki. Slowly she lifted up her hand with the cloth that was ragged and stains of blood on the device, she unwrapped the phone-looking device carefully and placed it in the dock. Whilst waiting for the computer to read and scan the phone directly onto her holograms, her face cringed at touching the cloth. She threw the cloth in the rubbish can underneath her desk, believing it was just another hazard to one's health if it were to be touched again. She got out hand sanitizer from up her sleeve and used it on her hands to sanitize them, killing the contaminated germs on her delicate hands.

"So tell me the details, perhaps start with telling me who this belongs to."

She questioned the lieutenant and the other third seat in the room, though her voice wasn't directed at the two. They can still hear a soft yet affirming voice still, especially over the top of lightly tapping on the keyboard, hacking her way into the device to retrieve whatever information the two other division parties sought to acquire. During this time, she noticed a slight change in the air. That change wasn't good by the feel of it, though the room was mainly soundproof from the inside, she can still hear gossip from others from the outside of her door. Nanami hears snippets of The gossip from other members from the twelfth division kept panicking about the feel and change of sudden outside. What was once a beautiful day with blue skies and clouds in the air, sun beaming down to the soul, society as a whole was now cloaked with a thick miserable atmosphere. Though, Nanami couldn't care. She didn't witness the sudden change. Why would it affect her in such a way? She kept asking a few questions, asking curiously

"Was it belonging to someone close to you, Lieutenant Munetoshi?"

After some time of questioning and gathering Intel, the air became even more flooded with such potent powers, reiatsu being released by captains, from what she can gather it involves all of the captains, including hers. A couple noticing others was The Captain commander as well as the ninth’s captain. Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Second, and many others, each one of those spiritual pressures coming from every direction, From the south, the north, and even the rukongai. There Nanami mentally noted, her captain was north of rukongai, with two others. Nanami tapped more into her senses in direction of her Captain’s pressure, realizing one of the captain’s pressure dwindled quite rapidly which made Nanami believe, whomever it was didn’t deserve the title of the captain if they were so quick to be defeated as she believed, Though she may never actually know what the sudden rise of captain’s pressure. All she can presume is there has been a possible siege, her thoughts about her captain fighting made her mutter under her breath, making sure both Fuyuko and Kinko didn’t hear her.

“So that’s where you ran off too kid…”

The captain of the twelfth was younger than Nanami, she was skeptical at first about him being a captain, a boss of hers since he looked so young as if he was out of the academy. Nonetheless, it was her captain who still had great respect for him despite his age and appearance. Suddenly her thoughts were disrupted by a sensation, only those who got quite skillful in kido knew what sensation and kido spell this was. Bakudo #77 tenteikura. This spell was for communicating with other souls, relying on important messages. She turned into the kido hearing the first division’s third seat sending out information on what was happening at the time being moments. Sharing names of those, specifically captain names who betrayed the soul society, or rather being rebellious. Though hearing the fourth division’s captain being amongst them did surprise Nanami even more. From the way the first’s third seat sounded, she was quite in distress, shocked, and angry at the same time. Upon hearing this information, she was glad to hear her captain was not amongst the traitors.
Her head began to ache after the announcement, why? What was the main purpose for the rebellion, which could end up in another war? Not just any war, but a civil war amongst those who didn’t share the same ideals as each other and took it to the extreme level. In conclusion, she had made it best for Nanami Teishi, the third seat of the twelfth, to remain neutral, as she didn’t know the full extent of this. She swung her chair around laying eyes on both third seat Kuchiki, who also were affected by what just happened.

"Lieutenant Munetoshi, Third Seat Teishi, do understand that my blade is drawn as a precaution. Do you stand with those who are willing to destroy the soul society or do you stand with those who will defend her? If you are with the former, I will have to ask you to stand down and turn yourself in to me. There is no need for unnecessary blood shed. If you are one of the defenders of our home, then you heard the commander's orders. So where do you stand?"

Upon glancing up, she saw how Kinko drew his blade in defense and dared to question and threaten them both with arrest if third-seat Teishi and Lieutenant Munteoshi sided with the traitors. With his bold statement, it didn’t sit well with a purple-haired woman. She got up from her comfortable chair and walked in Kinko’s direction stopping in front of him, her hand gracefully placed onto Kinko’s sword in an attempt to move it away. Despite her inside feelings was riddled with shock, annoyed with such assumptions from Third Seat Kuchiki. Her exterior remained calm, seemingly to be not bothered by what just happened, there she spoke out to the male in establishing her point across.

“I am neutral, we don’t know the purpose for this attack. Never presume one’s allegiance because their captain happened to amongst the traitors.”

Fuyuko watched Nanami moved to her desk. She appreciated the delicate handling of the phone as she looked over at Nanami before looking away.

" It belonged to one of my gate guardians. The western one. Shihari... She was killed this morning suddenly by a single wound to the heart, it being a lance. While I didn't want to leave her body in the hands of anyone else. I know this is something I can do for her."

she gently balling up her fist at the thought of the Guardian having been defeated with one move. Why didn't she see it coming? Why didn't she stay longer this morning? Why didn't she sense the energy that took the guardian's life? Those and so many more rang in her head.

It was then she felt the massive surge of energy erupting from various points across the soul society. She looked up picking out the conflicting Reiastu around the society. She ended up her own captain again their very same captain commander. She felt her heart drop along with stopping for a few seconds. The world slowed down to a crawl before her eyes as she lowered her head not taking note of the hell butterfly that founds it's way on to her shoulder. She listened to its message, ringing clear in her head. She shut her eyes letting the message sink into her brain. A rush of sadness, hurt and so much angry swelled inside her. Her captain was the reason for this all along. it was he who earned her trust and her loyalty, helped her learn even more about herself and the meanings of having a squad. Yet, He had the balls to hide it all from her and not think she was going to be angry with him?

She listened to his final request of forgiveness and the final order she might ever hear from him. Now she had a choice to make. Follow her captain or protect her squad. If she had known, she might have forsake all she had even her name and shot at head of her family for him. However that was not the choice she was going to give him. This was betrayal of her trust. Betrayal of their Squad. Of their ally and the death she suffered. No he chose to walk that path alone and so help the soul king the commander better do him in before she does.

She made her decision quickly and decided where she stood just as reality seemed to come back into play around her just as the lieutenant saw the third seat bring out his blade in defense against both her and the Third seat assisting them. She watched him silently as she heard Nanami speak her position before she turned herself fully to the Kuchiki. her Eyes cold and full of killer intent, if it was a fight he wanted, she wasn't going to hold back.

"I suggest you move. Your blade is aimed at the wrong enemy. I have a final order from my captain before he seeks his death alone down this path. My squad is now my first and only priority. We are all family and will follow who earned our trust and loyalty. If you stand in my way of ensuring my squad remains safe from mass blood shed, I will ensure your bloodline will end with you here and now."

She reached across her body with her left hand , drawing the Lavender hilted blade , allowing it to rest pointed at him. She kept herself contained but every fiber of her being was screaming to shed blood, His answer would dictate her next actions and may it be the right one.

With his blade drawn defensively, Kinkō stated why he had his blade drawn. It was just a precaution to protect him incase they attacked. He wasn't planning anything offensive and simply wanted the situation resolved as swiftly as possible. If it could be done without fighting then that was the best route to take. There was too much unnecessary bloodshed already. To add to that, there was a civil war on their hands. He also stated which side he was on and by essence asked them to reveal their position. Should they stand with those who wanted to destroy his home, he asked that they stand down and turned themselves in.

The first to react to this was third seit Teishi who stood up and walked up to him. He didn't flinch or steer his gaze. He watched her place her hand on his zanpakuto, trying to move it away. She was lucky that he kept the blade in its sealed state. Yami wasn't fond of others touching his blade or hilt and would burn them with black flames however Kinkō was allowing this. He didn't see the third seat as a threat in the moment and thus there was no need to let Yami have his way. She declared her stance as being on the fence.

Next to react was the lieutenant. She spoke with a level of vileness one should expect from someone threatened. Kinkō wondered if the woman heard the words he said the way he said them or if she made up in her head some fantasy that he wanted to face her. It was an emotional response and not a logical one but what could you expect of a woman in her position? A death under her watch and her captain revealed as a traitor. Of course, she would be on edge and take his words as threatening.

"I would think that high ranking shinigami like you two would have better comprehension but I guess I was wrong. I never presumed any allegiances, Third Seat Teishi. I stated my allegiance and I gave choices even if I didn't give space for neutrality. And as for you, Lt Munetoshi, no one is in your way so no need to threaten my bloodline. Neither of you seem to be against the soul society so therefore we are not enemies. Now then, I shall be going to defend the soul society. I have no more time to waste with you two. I am leaving."

And with those words spoken, he vanished with flash step, leaving to the entrance of the barracks and then heading in the direction of his captain and Captain Kuchiki.

Two Shinigami were set on a collision course; one of them from the Second, and the other from the Fourth. A meeting of two Souls decided for them by the Divisions to which they pledged their lives.

When Kinko materialized from this Shunpo, he’d see the Vice-Captain of the Fourth marching toward his Captain, who stood above the dying Captain of the Fourth; Captain Tsunayashiro’s left torso had sustained considerable damage, his skin blistered and charred red-hot. The Captain of the Fourth lay motionless, blood spilling from a deep abdominal wound, her spiritual essence waning. The both of them held their Zanpakuto’s firm within their grasp.

Captain Tsunayashiro’s death glare fell upon Kinko, and then upon that of Hachiko Goseikanjo.

Fuyuko watched Kinko quietly as she watched him clearly not understand the gravity of the situtation. Her captain was leading this rebellion. One of the guardians were killed in one swift shot of a lance. All while not being even sensed by her. How was she to act? Be as neutral as the twelfth squad's third seat's view of this? She figured they would be. They were researchers, they weren't fighters. They were not going to follow on a whim if the statistics spoke otherwise. Her squad was the first line of defense in the seritei. They were the security of the seritei, they watched the gates.

She closed her eyes taking in a deep breath, listening to this word. She was glad no blood shed was to be spilled in this moment as she re- sheathed her blade watching him leave before turning to Nanami. She sensed a change in battle with her captain and the captain commander. It seemed thus far, her captain was holding well against the commander. A little too well. All the more reason to cut this short and get over there. he had answers she wanted and come hell or high water, she was going to get some justice for her fallen squad member and those that might be slain by the end of this conflict.

"Ms Nanami- San. I must be going as well. However by all means retrieve whatever you can from the device and please send it only to my own please. Thankyou for granting this selfish request of mine. "

She spoke heading out the door, disappearing the moment she stepped foot on the other side. A strong wind blowing through the hall and out of the barracks as Fuyuko rushed Towards the Execution grounds. She could sense her captain's Reiastu so clearly as well as barely sensing the captain commander's own as she could feel her anger boil her blood even more. However the glimpse of the new presence facing her captain, nearly made her heart skip. Someone else was standing against him. She quickened her pace soaring scores over the seritei. Hoping to make it in time.

Life and death. Two opposites that represented mortality. It was something that Kinkō knew very well. There was only one survivor from the Kuchiki massacre, Captain Sachiko Kuchiki of Squad 4. She was the head of the family but she had no legacy. At least that was then but now she stood as the opposer, the enemy. She sided against the Soul Society and was now a traitor. She could as well have died in the Kuchiki massacre all those years ago. They were Kuchiki! Their primary concern was the well being of the Soul Society yet she could have such a stance that was detrimental to the very thing they were to protect. This was upsetting. Kinkō wished that it was the opposite way where she was defending the Soul Society and his captain was truly the enemy because then maybe he could get justice that way but now things were very different.

Seeing that his captain was defending the Soul Society then that made him the one Kinkō would follow. The past was the past and the current time showed him that. A time where he would choose a Tsunayashiro over his very own blood. A day he never expected to come but here it was. Would his captain suspect that he would side with the traitor, Sachiko? Would he cut down Kinkō without hesitation? Questions that were important but not important enough for he to dwell on them. 'Forgive me, Heikō. Things are going to get really bad and I will have to make some choices. I will use your zanpakuto to defend the Soul Society from all of her enemies. This was what we trained so hard for but I guess it is only me who will be there.'

Kinkō arrived shortly after leaving the 12th division. He didn't expect the path to be so clear with all the chaos around but he didn't have any resistance making it. On arrival, he saw lt. Hachiko marching towards his captain. "Captain!" He called out. His eyes landed on Sachiko. She was dying. It was deserved! She betrayed all they stood for and while he would mourn her later, right now she was the enemy. She had put up a good fight against his captain but she was no match for him and now she was perishing.

Was this what the cycle was? Was it all worth it? The deaths of many just to die? This was not what it should have been! Those captains that were killed died because they didn't want to join some stupid rebellion against their home and yet these shameless captains had the nerve to kill more and hope for anything other than death. They didn't deserve death as it was too quick. There needed to be a reckoning.

As Captain Tsunayashiro's death glare fell upon Kinkō, the 3rd seat flash stepped closer. "I am here to help, Captain. I stand with you and the Soul Society, sir." He drew both of his zanpakuto and stood in anticipation. He didn't know just how Hachiko was going to strike but he guarded his captain. "I suggest we pull back so that you could be tended to."

The fourth division’s miniscule garrison charged on, led by their volatile Lieutenant. Inevitably, travel often went hand in hand with conversation and boy were they chopping it up. Some of the men and women argued amongst one another, making it clear that they were in opposition of what nefariousness their Captain was up to. How dare she step out in open rebellion against the current establishment! As it stood, Her actions were carried out in complete secrecy, therefore they were devastatingly confusing which begat a massive amount of frustration and anger from Captain Kuchiki’s once very loyal shinigami. They were openly airing their vitriol and resentment toward their leader and yet, Vice-Captain Hachiko said nothing with her tattered Zanpakuto in hand.

At the same time, Captain Kuchiki’s betrayal seemed to bother a handful of the officers very little in comparison as they were more disgruntled by the conduct of those condemning her. Once surrounded by people they considered comrades, these officers realized that there was a disturbing amount of difference between their moral compasses and that they could not correlate their feelings with ones they steadfastly believed to be brothers and sisters at arms. They did not want to jump to conclusions so quickly, nor did they have the whole story and how irresponsible of the others to try to act without it?! Even so, Hachiko said nothing but let both of her bare palms extend out near her sides.

By her Reikaku’s account, Captain Kuchiki was done for. Her vitals were failing at a rapid rate in addition to her spiritual power and the scent of her blood had saturated the winds. In retrospect, her opponent, the honorable Captain Tsunayashiro, was faring no better. Even without being able to physically see him, Hachiko could tell he had been mortally wounded in their exchange just the same and was teetering between the veil of life and death akin to his victim. At the same time, she also detected that the triumphant Captain was receiving company from a lesser soldier whom she prepared herself to meet as they advanced.

"Captain!"

Utterly preoccupied, on and on the medics bickered amongst one another up until the pack appeared in the immediate vicinity of the previous clash. There, all of them were witnesses to the horrific scene of their Captain’s ugly demise. Her body, often properly poised and perfect, was sprawled out unceremoniously.

"I suggest we pull back so that you could be tended to."

The Kuchiki’s notion caused some of the doctors to bristle, like hell they would mend any injury dealt by their Captain! Her stark white haori was stained an unsettling red by her wounds draining out unto the earth, and saddened stares watched it pool. The group flashed worried glances in the way of Captain Tsunayashiro and his attending third seat, wary of the circumstances. No one made a move as Lieutenant Hachiko silently approached Sachiko’s mangled soon to be corpse. Any attempt to read her current thought process would have been in vain as it was more than obvious to all that she was notoriously difficult to interpret. With all of her contrasting personalities, there was next to none who could accurately say what she was truly thinking at any given moment and this one, as dire as it was, would likely be no exception.

‘You were a fool in life and ended up a fool in death.’ Viciously, Hachiko kicked Sachiko’s fading frame which caused some to audibly gasp. This show of blatant disrespect was apparently too much for them to handle quietly, but their responses gained the disgust of those that shared their Vice-Captain’s sentiments. With Sachiko’s soul on its way out of the realm, the fourth division had been left with none other than Hachiko Goseikanjo as their acting Captain and as such everything they were, everything they would be until further notice was comprehensively under her control. As far as the sensory ability of the collective looking on went, there was nothing to indicate that she was flexing her formidable reiatsu at all much less in an attempt to attack Captain Tsunayashiro and there was no amount of animosity on her part directed toward him either. Every shinigami was on edge and watched Hachiko as she returned to their numbers, positioning herself in the midst of them. Instantaneously, a pair of glasses sat on the bridge of her nose and a single ponytail swung gently at her back.

“What a shame, to think that our Captain would go this far to see to her egregious ideals fulfilled. On behalf of the fourth division, I want to formally express that her objective does not align with our’s and that we were left unconditionally in the dark."

Unintelligible mumbling began to buzz around her as she addressed Captain Tsunayashiro and the lone Kuchiki. There were stoic expressions on the faces of those that agreed with her, however, those who were appalled by her behavior were struggling to comprehend their Lieutenant’s stance.

1b4c50928cb328a45487586560949390.png

"Unfortunately, in what can only be described as a terrorist event, I believe a prominent mass of the northeast’s medical teams as well as our hospital have been destroyed. Sadly, this means that we are among the last capable of providing all manner of healing. In a way, I’ve become a purveyor of rarities and my commodity? Medics. Captain Tsunayashiro, as a sign of our good faith, I assure you, we will give you a speedy recovery.”

Fists clenched, beads of sweat formed upon their brows and their teeth gnashed together in response until the show became too much for those in opposition to tolerate. They possessed incredible amounts of admiration, love and devotion to their perished superior, far too much to let Hachiko’s repulsive subservience persist unchallenged.

“Bullshit! Let him die!”
“ I refuse to be used to keep HIM alive! He killed our Captain!”
“Yes! We have to avenge Captain Kuchiki! What are you doing?! Isn’t she the head of your clan?!”
“How dare you, Lieutenant Goseikanjo!”
“Screw him, and screw you!”

They had time for venting their outrage, but only for that. The last thing that the five rebels would see was an emotionless after-image of their Vice-Captain. The last thing they would feel was the sting of Chishinishi’s syringe somewhere on their person. Her true body, permitted no means of determining she had done anything but remained stationed where she had been in the first place and yet, within milliseconds, their bodies were drained of their blood and Reiryoku like abandoned grapes that had their juices stolen from them by the scorching sun. No time to scream, no time to cry or beg, they died just like that at the hands of their own Lieutenant. At the sight of this, terror gripped the remaining. Thus far, they had chosen to denounce their Captain’s misguidance but those dropping to the ground as hollow shells of what they once were had been their friends at one point in time. It was natural for them to experience a wave of emotions, and so they did but even as they did, none lifted their hand to strike Hachiko down. It could have been reluctant agreement or fear that they would meet the same fate that resulted in their compliance, but it mattered not in the grand scheme of things. They knew it, and she knew it. The dead had chosen the side of the traitors and had forfeited their lives in the eyes of the soul society.

"My my, it seems my stocks are selling out fast. No matter.~”

With a snap of her pale fingers, they gently approached the leery Captain fully intending to provide him with the rejuvenation of his spiritual power as well the relief from any pain that he was feeling. They would work tirelessly to do their duty and return his body to its former glory.

“Please, allow us to heal you, Captain Tsunayashiro. We must put a stop to this rabble at once.”

Having to hear a gate guardian get cut down was news to Nanami’s ears. She was shocked upon hearing about the death of a guardian while she was on duty, what was even more surprising to hear was the attack done with a single blow to the heart by a lance. This got Nanami thinking about who could do such a thing let alone attack one or even kill them, it was certainly inevitable. While hacking into the system of the newly dead guardian's denreishinki, her eyes shifted to Lieutenant Munetoshi’s body language, briefly seeing her fist balled up tight. Only one can presume Lieutenant Munetoshi was close to the now dearly departed gate guardian. Nanami’s gaze switched back to their screen of hers, tapping away at the holographic keyboard. A clear vision of a phone. Meanwhile every captain’s reiatsu was emitted heavily within the Seireitei. It was to be felt by everyone across the soul society. She picked up on the most important ones to her, the captain commander and her captain. Of course, the message from the third seat of the first division came in.

Along with the Munetoshi woman, Nanami was being questioned about her allegiance by the other third seat in the room, Nanami got up from her comfortable chair to encounter the blade of Kinko's which was drawn defensively Nanami declared her side of the situation, as she was neutral upon the chaos that was happening as of right now. After her piece was said and her calm exterior didn’t threaten her visitors even though despite the calmness she projected she felt an uneasiness in the air. Hostility was to be felt by the lieutenant, who didn’t take too kindly of the blade being drawn. Nanami stepped away from Kinko, only to see the lieutenant spit out her view of things. Observing every bit of Fuyuko’s body language as well as her facial expressions riddled with coldness, ready to strike at any given moment much like a snake waiting for its prey.

"I would think that high ranking shinigami like you two would have better comprehension but I guess I was wrong. I never presumed any allegiances, Third Seat Teishi. I stated my allegiance and I gave choices even if I didn't give space for neutrality."
-

"I have no more time to waste with you two. I am leaving."

Through his words, Nanami didn’t take too kindly to them. To her Kinko’s words were a bit arrogant, especially toward his seniors in age. Before Nanami could even reply to him, he was gone before their very eyes. She could only sigh from this interaction with the younger shinigami and went back to sit at her desk, she closed her eyes for a brief moment and nodded at the lieutenant, who went out the door as well, presuming both of the visitors went to see their captain. With little to no time to waste, Nanami carried on trying to crack the phone-looking device. Though, she felt her captain’s reiatsu dwindling. Soon enough his reiatsu was gone. She tried to sense Captain Takaki’s as best she could, closing her eyes to pinpoint. But no such luck on sensing or feeling his strong presence. Only to assume he was gone. Dead or heavily injured to the brink of death.

She gritted her teeth in worriedness and frustration at how he could somewhat be beaten presumably. Though she couldn’t allow her emotions to overwhelm her, she got a request to finish or does she? She couldn’t bear the thought of leaving the kid out there, with his corpse rotting to the ground in front of thousands of folks, that would be just embarrassing. Then again, He was a captain and fought well against whoever was his opponent. ‘Hang on kid…I’m coming.’ She thought to herself as her body lifted itself from the chair, leaving the denreishinki there in her lab, walking out of her office, the lab she mostly spends her time in. Nanami locked up her office and rushed over to the last place she felt her captain’s reiatsu. She headed over North of the Rukongai, she wondered as she picked up the pace during her traveling, Out of all the places within the Soul society and the Seireitei why did it have to be in the Rukongai? where dozens of innocent souls live and witnessed what could potentially be a massacre of beloved captains.

Captain Tsunayashiro stood his ground, sealed Zanpakuto in hand with blade’s edge facing toward the desecrated earth, the left half of his torso’s charred flesh exposed from shash to shoulder. He glared at the newcomers with a silence that spoke of his no-nonsense disposition, the intent to kill either one of them or both at a moment’s notice communicated without words.

When his subordinate declared his stance in support of his Captain, even when his own flesh and blood lay before them on the brink of death, the Tsunayashiro heir grinned, and then averted his gaze to fall upon Hachiko.

What came next surprised him, suspicion and caution filling his mind and heart, eyes squinting as he watched the unfathomable betrayal on the part of Captain Kuchiki’s second-in-command. Even with the reputation the Crazed Vice-Captain held, her forthcoming actions were so reprehensible, that the Captain of the Second simply couldn’t accept them. Truly, a disgusting creature, this Goseikanjo brat. With Captain Kuchiki on her way to Hell, and the swift execution of her entourage’s dissenters, the Vice-Captain of the Fourth had officially given herself a promotion.

“Fine,” he replied to both his Third Seat and the acting Captain of the Fourth, with regards to their proposals for mending his wounds. Kinko would understand his Captain’s intentions to accept the Fourth’s healing, although he would also comprehend that his Captain, and in extension him, would stay alert for any foul play on the part of Hachiko. With his blade still out, Captain Tsunayahsiro allowed the Fourth Divisioners to arrive in close proximity, and to begin their work.

Listen While You Read

“Kinko, notify Vice-Captain Shihōin-”

The Captain’s eyes widened, and then the weight of the world came down upon them all. It was a Reiatsu so potent, that the senses were put on blast; sight blurred, hearing muffled coupled with the sounds of distant fires, smell filled with the burn of smoke, taste overcome by the iron of blood. The killing intent behind this spiritual pressure was unmistakable, unshakeable, overwhelming.

Captain Tsunayashiro growled. “Kenpachi!?”

Suddenly, the Captain’s legs exploded, flesh and bone erased from existence, blood too evaporated into nothing. With gritted teeth, eyes closed, and Zanpakuto gripped tightly, he fell back onto the earth. The Fourth Divisioners tending to him were flung away, all of them burn to crisps by the explosion of fire that had ensued.

71ec2acdec9b637826b1b5ce89e2d753.png

For Kinko, the spiritual pressure birthed from the Immeasurable spiritual power of the Kenpachi would be overwhelming; his breathing became more difficult, his body becoming sluggish, every movement exhausting manifold. Movement would be difficult for the young Kuchiki, even the simplest of steps. The world around him turned into a raging inferno, and although a mere byproduct of the disparity between his and the Kenpachi’s Reiatsu, seemingly real all the same. A fiery silhouette of the Kenpachi’s visage looked down upon the Third Seat.

For Hachiko, she would experience similarly, although to lesser extents, with the disparity between the two not great enough to completely overwhelm.

“Am I the only one who likes their Tsunayashiro’s golden brown?” the white-haired newcomer joked as he looked upon the shitshow before him. First to Kinko, then to the unconscious Captain Tsunayahiro, then to the nearly dead Captain Kuchiki, and finally to Hachiko.

“Tsk tsk tsk, look who’s been a baaaaad girl,” Kenpachi Murakami mocked through his devilish grin, flinging his enormous Shikai over his shoulder. “Not in a million years would I’ve guessed you’d do this to poor little Kuchiki. Maaaan, I would’ve lost that bet for sure!”

His eyes widened ever so slightly, locking onto Hachiko’s, grin enlarging. “Ayaaaa…what am I going to do with you, naughty girl?”

Kinkō had made sure that he went where he thought he was mostly needed which was the place where his captain was battling his cousin, The Head of the Kuchiki - Sachiko Kuchiki. To him this was extremely important because not only would it cement his loyalty to the Soul Society but he would be able to face the Head of the Family who not only was going against what they stood for but also becoming a terrorist against their home. This was not only about him being eligible to become the next head but being there and showing his loyalty to what they stood for was a good thing to have to show that he was willing to what was necessary to make sure that the family would be doing what they were supposed to be.

Arriving on the scene, he called out to his captain who seemed to have been injured by Sachiko. Even though the captain was injured, he had managed to defeat the Kuchiki traitor and left her at death's door. Seeing that the squad of the traitor was on the other side, Kinko got closer to his captain to let him know that he was there to help and that they should make a tactical retreat to regather their strength and possibly be healed. The troubling thing was escaping could be difficult but survival was all that mattered.

With Hachikō on the other side approaching fast, Kinkō wondered what the woman would do seeing that her captain was done for. His eyes shot open in shock as he witnessed the woman kicking her captain's body, telling her that she was a fool in life who ended up as a fool in death. Did this make Hachikō an unsuspecting ally? He wasn't too sure. He didn't trust anyone fully, not even his own captain. Sachiko proved that he couldn't even trust his own family. What a shame. The crazy woman spoke, addressing her position as the next leader of the squad that was being led by the traitor. She expressed that their ideals and objectives did not align with Sachiko's and that they had been left in the dark when it came to these events. To have them on his side was a surprise to be sure but a welcomed one.

Hachiko explained that their medical teams and hospitals had been destroyed in the chaotic conflict and so their numbers were stretched thin. She wished Captain Tsunayashiro a speedy recovery. Of course, that didn't sit well with some of the members of the 4th division. Of course, there would be some who would want to stand against him. After all, he fatally wounded their captain. Some of them even took jabs at Kinkō. "You should be quiet when it comes to things that don't concern you. Your precious Captain Kuchiki went against our clan's morals and ideals thus making her an enemy of the clan. She has chosen to forfeit her leadership and her place among us. Her death was warranted as she was commiting treason."

Not long after, the very vocal members all fell. Hachiko took care of them, seeing that they were choosing to betray the Soul Society. While it may seem harsh to some, they chose their fate. Life and Death was a cycle and the choices that were made would determine what happened. Rally her forces, Hachikō offered to provide medical to the injured captain. Still on his guard, he was cautious of them. They didn't have the intent to kill his captain from what he could tell so that was good enough for him. "Very well, if the captain accepts it then do what you do best." Kinkō lowered the zanpakuto but he didn't sheath either of them.

As the captain received the healing, he spoke to his 3rd seat, ordering him to notify Vice-Captain Shihōin of something but before he could finish what he was saying they had a new arrival. This overwhelming spiritual pressure and the immense killing intent felt was too much for the Kuchiki. He gripped his zanpakuto but found himself shaking slightly. Was he scared? Was he actually scared this time? He didn't even know. He heard his captain growled out the title of the man who arrived. It was the Kenpachi.

Without a moment passing, the Captain's legs exploded and those around him were blown away and incinerated. Kinkō couldn't breathe nor could he move. What the hell was this spiritual pressure doing to him? Was it his time to join Heikō in death? Would it be here that he passed? NO! He still had plenty to do. He hadn't reached his goal to become a captain and thus he couldn't die here but how would he be able to survive? He wasn't on the level of the Kenpachi. He looked over to the Kenpachi as he made the joke about his captain. He gritted his teeth trying to find the strength and the power to move if even slightly.

Survive. It was the first thing he was taught as a child as his training began. He was put through every experience they could simulate yet this one wasn't among them but overall it shouldn't matter because he needed to survive. With the odds stacked against them all he had to do was find a way to survive. He was a Kuchiki and that meant he needed to do all he could to survive. SURVIVE KINKŌ! SURVIVE!

Suddenly his spiritual pressure started to increase exponentially. His instinct to survive kicked in and took over. Even with his boost he would be no match for the Kenpachi. He flash stepped away and took up his captain. "I leave this to you. I need to get my captain out of here." His words were a way to try to tell Hachikō to survive or at least buy him the time he needed to do so. Without wasting any more time, he flash stepped away. He knew that she may need help and thus he sent out a hell butterfly to the only person he could think of that had the ability to take on such strong opponents. He contacted the person who had a hand in training both him and Hachikō, Sensei Otokogi Aijō.

"Sensei Aijō, you know I wouldn't reach out to you unless it was absolutely necessary. We need your help, your students need you. I don't which side you are on but I know that you love your students and helping us grow. If you can, please go to the Northwest to help because we are outmatched against the Kenpachi!" After calling out to Otokogi he vanished and went off to find safety, thinking of the only way to go was the Kuchiki manor. As he was dashing away, he thought about what Heikō would do in this situation. He could hear her making a joke to lighten the situation as they escape. "So captain, was Kenpachi like the entire message to tell Vice-Captain Shihōin or was there more to say?" Of course, that would be her words but he wasn't going to do that for many reasons. One of those reasons was his captain was unconscious.
