Fuyuko hated the long walk, the long dread of not knowing who took one of their guardians from them. Come hell or high water, She was going to destroy whoever she needed to, Shiari deserved justice and while the murder might not die by her blade, she was going to ensure they wish it was her blade to have ended their existence. She listened to the footsteps that bounced off the bare walls, heading deeper into the ghost town of a squad.

"Kinko, I want you to know something. While I do not have distrust of you. I have distrust of all outside my own division. I hope you can understand that what you find here. I can trust you do not tell anyone of. Not till I get down to the bottom of this." She asked suddenly thinking of making some small talk while they continued through the ghost town. She hated how quiet and eerie the twelfth was. She continued quickly to her destination. ending up at an enormous counter that stretched from one side of the building to the other. She listened to the muffled alarms and sounds of typing before looking over the desk seeing a smaller woman who clearly does not know the meaning of getting some rest. Fuyuko could relate to not knowing the meaning of rest. she knew all too well the sleepless nights she had in her childhood and still to even this day. Getting a full nights sleep for her is odd and something she is unfamiliar to.

"Ninth Division Vice Captain Fuyuko Munetoshi, accompanied by third seat of the second Division Kinko Kuchiki. We request an audience with Captain Hatsumei Takaki over a matter of security of sensitive information Involving the sudden death of Western Gate Guardian Shiari."

She spoke remaining calm and formal. While she was taking lead and wanted the answers right then and there. She knew being rude and demanding was not going to get her anywhere. No, She needed to do things the right way. She needed to continue playing by the rules, even if her body and mind wanted to handle things the way she did in her previous occupation. she lifted her hand up to reach into her robe before stopping at the sight of the dried blood of the gate guardian's still on her hand. She reached into her robe anyways , keeping her hand in place lightly over the blood stained Denreishinki wrapped in the cloth for preservation.

Kinkō walked through the long halls of the 12th division's barracks with Vice Captain Munetoshi. She had requested that he accompanied her which was probably due tot he fact that he was also investigating the death of the gate guardian albeit for a different reason. He needed to find out if there was a link between the death of Hikaru and recent attacks on the members of Central 46. Even though he wasn't a fan of most of their attitudes, his sense of duty was above his own personal feelings.

The silence of the area was quite unwelcoming but he didn't mind. Each echoed step they took put them closer to where people hopefully were. Breaking the silence, Fuyuko spoke to him. She wanted to inform him of her distrust of those outside of her division aside from him. She wanted him to keep quiet about what they found inside, at least until she got to the bottom of it. "While I appreciate your sentiments, what you ask of me is betrayal. I have been tasked with updating my captain on what is going on. If I do this and I fail then it would be my head. Surely, I do not fear death like much others do and I welcome the day that I can see my sister again however I would very much not like to expedite that experience. I will trust in you and I will not report unless there is solid evidence and information that helps the case we are investigating. Aside from that, I will not report. I hope that helps you, Vice Captain Munetoshi."

When they made it to the receptionist, Kinkō looked at the woman who spoke. She looked worse for wear. She looked as if she had forgotten what sleep was. While Fuyuko spoke with her, the young Kuchiki had received a text from his captain. He wanted answers by any means necessary and he told Kinkō not to fail him. Kinkō simply chose not to reply to the text and closed his denrenshinki. He was there to work and get the necessary information needed for the investigation. He didn't need a reminder from his captain about failure. He knew very well what that would bring. While it would be touching to see Heikō again, he knew she would be pissed off if he simply allowed himself to die. His hand rested on the zanpakuto that used to be hers as his thoughts dwelled on her.

Fuyuko Munetoshi and Kinko Kuchiki

As the Vice-Captain of Ninth made her request, offering very little detail at that, the still occupied Twelfth officer paid her no mind. The reflection of her irises darting about from screen to screen covered by her eyewear, as lights of all colors flashed bright here, there, and everywhere. When it was time, she spoke.

“Request denied.”

Silence save for the sound of typing.

The abrupt and brash response would offend most, the time spent listening to fingers striking keyes surely forcing the two visitors to ponder why exactly their solicitation had been refused. Was it a simple answer, something superficial, or was there more to it?

At the moment that either the Vice-Captain or the Third Seat were to attempt to inquire as to why, the scientist would interrupt them.

“Third Seat Teishi will be down to assist you.”

…and? Was there more? Where would they wait? And for how long? Who was this Third Seat Teishi? If one were to believe no answer would come, they’d be right.

Nanami Teishi

Nanami Teishi, a highly intelligent Soul, had risen to the prestigious place of Third Seat. Through centuries of intellectual pursuit, she’d become an invaluable asset to the Gotei 13, and her Division especially. What her contributions were, and what she’d been working on of late, no one save her superiors knew. Such was the Third Seat of the Twelfth, and the Twelfth in general: an enigmatic organization filled with enigmatic souls.

As such, the Twelfth Division was a place that took the concept of insulation to new levels; even in the Seireitei’s current situation, where the Divisions seldom cooperated, viewing each other as enemies more than friends, the Twelfth was a beast who sat all on its own. Whether through accidental ignorance from a place of apathy, or a manufactured defense to obscure the prying eyes of outsiders from the secrets of the S.R.D.I, the end result was the same; no one knew what the hell went on within the labs of the Twelfth…and yet, the same could not be said of the opposite. There was very little that went beyond the eyes and ears of this place, the Onmitsukido, and the Fifth’s Itelligence, the only organizations capable of the same.

That was why Nanami Teishi had heard of the going-ons within the Soul Society; the strange Hollow activity, the attempted murders of the C46, the stolen artifact from Eighth, and indeed, the murder of the Ninth’s Gate Guardian.

So when the call came through her lab's intercoms, the scientist showed little surprise, “Third Seat Teishi, you are solicited at the reception. I repeat, Third Seat Teishi, you are solicited at the reception.”

It seemed Nanami’s day was about to get even more interesting.

“Third Seat Teishi, you are solicited at the reception. I repeat, Third Seat Teishi, you are solicited at the reception.”

Keyboard tapping noises echoed around the lab. There in front of the hologram desktop was a young mature woman with purple hair and soft expressions on her face focused on researching new technology blueprints. Her eyes scanned over the blueprints taking every bit of detail inside of her mind. This was when her intercom which was situated on the right wall of her lab rang, then a voice came from the receptionist. Nanami was a little bit surprised to hear a call from the receptionist. Her lips softly sighed before responding to the shinigami who called for her with a polite tone.

“Thank you, dear, I'll be there in a jiffy.”

There the woman got up from her chair and walked to the automatic door which opened for her. She stepped out of the door and watched it close, though before she could walk off she needed to lock the door so no soul could come in and see her research and products in development. She raised her thumb up to a fingerprint scanner to lock the laboratory making sure it was securely locked, Nanami tried to open the door but it did not open. Satisfied with the door being securely locked, she turned around and started to walk to reception. While on her way to the reception many of the underseats greeted Nanami and to which she responded with a quick hello and waved to them in response before carrying on her journey. Though before she could even reach the reception, she caught a couple of freshly new shinigami slacking off. Few of them were gambling amongst each other by playing roulette or poker, others eating junk food and some were taking a nap. The sight of this displeased the third seat, if anything Nanami doesn’t like is when people slack off their work if it was not the end of the day or not their break. The receptionist just had to wait for a bit, as Nanami couldn't let this go, she went up to slacking members and clapped at them to get their attention.

“And what do you guys think you're doing?”

The group looked up to see their third seat standing over them, visibly looking quite annoyed with them. While her expression may have a smile on her lips however her eyes told a different story as they were closed with her eyebrows furrowing and twitching in annoyance. Others got the hint to pack away their things and run off to their stacked up jobs, while the remaining others stayed and tutted at her before they even left to do their own chores. Nanami watched them scurrying out of her sight, there she continued her journey, though this time she walked faster than did before. Upon arriving at her destination, she went up to the receptionist to learn what and why she was called down to the reception.

Upon hearing the reason as to why she called down here, she turned around to see two shinigami. One was a lieutenant from the 9th she could identify as lieutenant Munetoshi, while she couldn’t identify the other. Nanami sized them up and down with her left eyebrow being raised in curiosity as to what and why they are here. Whatever was the reason it certainly gave her a smile on her face.. Once she finished sizing up and down the two visitors she held a bow 90 degrees to show respect and greet them in respect, after all they were her visitors. Nanami rarely had visitors at that, if anything it’s usually her captain who gets visitors over queries or any type of favour needed. After the bow, Third seat Teishi turned towards the pink haired woman with a mask covering half of her face. Nanami greeted her with a warm smile and stood up straight with her hands in front of her, giving an elegant look which Nanami was famous for.

“How can I help you, Lieutenant Munetoshi?”

Nanami knew this day was going to get even more interesting.

Fuyuko hoped that her request would be guaranteed for the captain to handle this situation. It seemed only fitting for such vital information to be addressed. However, a part of her wasn't surprised by the request not being entirely denied for any review. However, it was given to the third seat. One Nanami Teishi. She was going to inquire how it was passed down to a third seat instead of the captain or even Lieutient. However, She figured it was best to avoid poking further. Her request could have been denied altogether. She really needed to get better with her own proposals. Something she wasn't used to. A more gentle motherly approach could be needed in the situation. Maybe a more threatening tone? So many possible outcomes if she had only chosen a different tone.

The name did not ring a bell to Fuyuko, which was not surprising as she had never attempted to memorize every name of every Shinigami ever in all the Seritei's ranks since its beginning. Such things were not on her list of things to do. She knew almost everything there was to know about every squad member. That was always a top thing on her to-do list. It was better to know all there was to know in the environment she called her squad, which meant even her members' tiny dirty little secrets. Now whether she cared to know any of them, absolutely not. However, her squad was the family she had never had. They weren't a pack of wolves hungry to consume any slight smell of weakness.

"Third seat Teishi, It is a pleasure to meet you, and I will apologize in advance for having to bug you or anyone of the twelfth with this urgent request. However, I must make it. I need this Denreishinki unlocked and its content uncovered in its entirety." She spoke to the purple hair woman, spoking a gentler tone, allowing her thoughts and feelings to be held in its tone while bowing herself in respect.

"I wish not to discuss the full details in this open space if possible." She requested, gently bringing out the blood-covered cloth from within her robes and holding it out with Nanami, her Green eyes kept straight on the woman's face.

In truth, she wanted to handle this situation by herself. However, her squad couldn't do all the other squad could do and more. No, they all were Shinigami and had their own strengths and weaknesses. Such is the reason for thirteen squads rather than one singular squad. She needed to have faith in receiving answers and play nice for the time being. She closed her eyes standing back up before pulling out her own Denreishinki. She debated for a second before sending a message to her captain.

' I am at the twelfth, receiving information on a possible lead. Sent Shiari into the fourth's care with Takao of the 13th. Report being sent to you. Will tell more once done.' - Fuyuko

She let out a sigh reading her own message after sending it. Her old ways of short, sweet, and not very thought-out writing were showing from her Days in the Onmitsukidō. That was definitely something she was going to work more on once all this was done.

Kinkō stood with the vice captain of the 9th division at the receptionist desk of the 12th division. It was really a long walk and while not outwardly showing it, Kinkō was annoyed. Fuyuko had made a request to see the Captain of the 12th due to the sensitivity of the situation at hand. They had the death of the Western Gate Guardian to deal with and needed the help of the 12th to get into the guardian's denrenshinki. All of that was resting on them to figure out yet this woman would deny them. She didn't even look at them. It was quite audacious and insolent! She should be glad that Kinkō was accompanying Fuyuko and wasn't there by himself. He would have chosen a response that would be different but he stayed silent.

The sound of countless typing filled the area as Kinkō looked at the woman in disbelief. Neither he or the vice captain spoke. The silence was then broken when the receptionist said that the 3rd seat would be assisting them. Kinkō had nothing against 3rd seats, I mean how could he when he was also a 3rd seat. For what they were trying to accomplish, would she really be qualified? Time was going to tell. In the time waiting, Kinkō closed his eyes and let himself be taken to his inner world.

Kinkō stood in the light zone, looking at his sister's zanpakutō. "You seem to be in a playful mood, Hikari." Of course, she was. She was always in the mood to play. The only time that he could say that she wasn't in the mood to play was when they first met. It was after Heikō passed. She was moody and didn't want to play. It was well understood by him that she was grieving the loss of her master. He had to admit, spending time just sitting there being ignored by the zanpakutō spirit was helpful for him to understand the need to grieve. Of course, she eventually opened up to him and they bonded.

"Of course! You have to wait for someone, right? Then in the meantime, we should play." She said with a smile. "You hide and I seek!" She was excited that she could spend time with Kinkō and play. Even if it wasn't for a long period of time. She didn't want to feel abandoned or neglected. She missed playing with Heikō but Kinkō was just as fun whenever he made an effort.

"I will humor you for a bit but as soon as the 3rd seat arrives, our game is over whether you find me or not." Who was he kidding. He couldn't hide from her in her own zone. Of course, he could go to the center zone or even the dark zone but that wouldn't exactly be fair. "Begin." He vanished from her site and found places to hide. He knew that she would be able to detect him but he would also be able to detect her. It wasn't much about the game but making her feel satisfied with the affection she was given. The last thing he needed was her getting an attitude and refusing to release at the command.

After a few minutes of Kinkō changing hiding spots whenever Hikari got too close, he found himself close to the center. He stopped moving and Hikari appeared behind him. "Found you!" She was proud of herself but she could tell that he stopped. "Why did you stop moving?"

"I stopped because you would not be able to detect me in the dark zone nor at the center. We are almost at the center. I can't have you thinking I abandoned you. At the very least, playtime is over. Next time, I will be the hunter and you will hide." He gave her a smile. She nodded to the idea as the inner world slowly disappeared.

Opening his eyes, he saw the 3rd seat standing before them. She didn't exactly introduce herself but that wasn't an issue. She asked Fuyuko how she could help. The vice captain spoke with her, telling her that she wanted the denrenshinki unlocked. She also informed the 3rd seat that she wished to discuss the details in private. After she spoke to 3rd seat Teishi, Kinkō figured it was a good time as any to let the other 3rd seat know who he was and why he was there. "Third Seat Teishi, I am Third Seat Kinkō Kuchiki of the 2nd division. We are both currently investigating the situation. We appreciate your swift response to us being here."

Upon hearing the lieutenant speak based on the situation that they were in, and would like to explain the whole situation in private, Nanami simply smiled and nodded to the lieutenant. Her eyes traveled downwards to see a blood-covered cloth in front of her. Nanami extended her hand out to retrieve the blood-covered cloth which she felt something was in, she presumed it was the Denreishinki that they mentioned, having to hold it, her grip was tight not allowing it to fall out of her hands. The scar-faced woman looked back up at the lieutenant and their glances met with each other, then her ears heard a male voice spoken up, to which the third seat changed her glances to the dark-haired male.

"Third Seat Teishi, I am Third Seat Kinkō Kuchiki of the 2nd division. We are both currently investigating the situation. We appreciate your swift response to us being here."

Hearing him giving an introduction to Nanami, she couldn’t help but ask a question or two, why were two people from different divisions working together? If it was just the second people coming in or even two ninth divisions working together on what she presumed to be an investigation though she didn’t dare to question them as of yet.

“It’s a pleasure to be at your service as well, third seat Kuchiki.”

After all the formalities they exchanged, Nanami began to walk back to her office, gesturing to them to follow her. The halls of the twelfth look like just any other division though…the rooms and offices vastly differ. Most of the doors leading to rooms were automatic and made from metal and the rooms were usually filled with technology for both research and developing new products of course testing labs as well as many elevators were to be seen. After a few right and one left turns they researched outside of Nanami’s office. Her hand bunched up into a ball only leaving out her thumb, she held her thumb up to the fingerprint scanner to the door, and upon being scanned the automatic door opened for them, Nanami stepped to the side allowing her visitors to step into her office. Raising her hand and swaying it to the door prevented it from closing up so early as it would normally do if it was just Nanami. Her lips moved again and respectfully spoke to them.

“After my visitors, I insist.”

As she moved out of the way, a snippet of her office flashed into the guests' vision. Walls were covered in metal and bolted on, as well many holographic screens appear to be on, giving a blue light to lighting up the dark room. There were a couple of comfortable laid-back chairs to be seen as well, the big main chair in their vision was of course Nanami’s. Her chair can recline back and forward as well as move around the office with its wheels. Though to Nanami her office wasn’t the best she could have as such compared to the big main research room the division had where many of their division folk gather to socialize and work together. Though from many outsiders, her office may seem grand and somewhat cool to many.

Fuyuko nodded allowing the item of interest to be retrieved from her hand. She had to put faith in the 3rd seat and her captain for the decision. She double checked her own phone, seeing no message from it as she looked at the third Lieutient she moved after Nanami. It wasn't her place to argue but interacting and depending on others was still something the former Onmitsukidō was working on in her current position. She took no time and followed Nanami through the halls of the division towards her small office.

She nodded once Nanami opened the door and offered for them to go first. She watched them both before she took the lead heading inside first deciding to take a stand in a corner, watching the door and the desk at the best angle.

"It's so small here but it is so comfortable. I wouldn't mind an office like this. Though if i could I might opt for a window or two if I am honest. neither the less. it is comfortable in here."

She complimented the office liking it as she watched the holograms of screens co

Listen While You Read

An enormous blade’s edge of vibrating red screeched as it rose to the sky, its immense power reverberating within the Fourth Division, and those adjacent to it. Surely, anyone worth their salt within the Seireitei would feel the spiritual energy screaming off the forbidden spell; Shinigami from all over the Seireitei stopped what they were doing, their full spiritual attention commandeered, many coming out of their Division buildings to look upon whatever had caused it. When the crimson edge dissipated, and its singing power diminished, all that accompanied the colorless, rising smoke cloud was an unforgettable stillness.

On the precipice of new beginnings, the cursor of history slid ever closer to the edge of an eerie quietness; it was a silence layered in three parts.

The first layer was one that played its empty tune to the physical senses. If one were to look up at the shaded sky, an already gloomy overcast would have seemed to have gotten darker, and stiller, as the clouds remained in place as if holding their breath. If one were to listen, they would find emptiness in the wake of the once sweet whispers of the wind. If one were to reach out to touch the world, all they would feel is a numbness beyond the pale.

The first of three.

The second layer was one that spoke its hollow words to the spiritual senses. It hid behind the physical in wait for those well-enough attuned to notice it. Where once the spiritual bands of Souls glowed inharmoniously across the Soul Society, existed a blank gray that spread for miles and miles, to the ends of the City of Wandering Souls. Everyone, it seemed, ceased to exist.

The second of three.

The third layer was one that existed on a plane beyond the conventional. A quietness so deafening, so overbearing, so empty, that its presence could only be perceived by those who, when confronted by a world devoid of stimulus, could completely relinquish their bodies, minds, and souls to absolute nothingness. Only then would they realize that time had stopped.

The third of three.

This was a rare brief lapse in time, a serene moment of quiet that preceded a storm not seen, and yet brewing for centuries. What seemed like an eternal silence came to a thundering halt as the world returned to color, waves of technicolor reverberating throughout the Soul Society like layers of film, and those who lived and breathed within it. The entirety of the Seireitei, and the Wandering City, trembled as the spiritual power of unburdened Souls twisted around one another in a battle of Reiatsu.

Listen While You Read

An enormous explosion of purple, larger than the Ittō Kasō that came before, erupted at Sōkyoku Hill; even those not initiated in Reikaku would sense the Captain Commander’s roaring Reiatsu, and in opposition, the equally magnificent spiritual pressure of the Captain of the Ninth, Hitoshi Shihaimono.

In the Northwestern Quadrant, the Reiatsu of the deadly Captain of the Second, Nobu Tsunayashiro, and that of the esteemed Captain of the Fourth, Sachiko Kuchiki, would be sensed at the ready to strike one another down.

In the Southeastern Quadrant, Captain Arisu Nakazawa’s radiant spiritual pressure could be felt clashing with that of the passionate Captain Kusumoto’s.

Lastly, within the First District of the Northern Rukongai, one Souls spiritual pressure could be felt across the entirety of the Soul Society, reaching out even beyond the known Districts, and drowning out all others; it was a spiritual signature so demonic, so filled with killing intent, that the blood of his future victims would be tasted upon the tongues of all; such a signature belonged to the Kenpachi, Kenta Murakami. Alongside him were two, that of the Twelfth’s Captain, Hatsumei Takaki, and that of the Sixth’s Captain, Etsuko Nakajima, the latter of which faded quickly…

With the Soul Society under siege by an immutable song, it was a miracle that the words that would soon ring within the minds of every Shinigami would be heard nonetheless. Those of a Kidō background would recognize the sensation belonging to Bakudō #77. Tenteikūra (天挺空羅, Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air), coursing with the spiritual signature of the First’s Third Seat. Her voice spoke clear as day, filled with shock and anger.

143afe1f902b64791c04d44cff048d06.png

“This is an emergency broadcast! This is Third Seat Takenaka!

The Seireitei is under attack! I repeat, the Seireitei is under attack!

A group of Captains, led by the traitor Hitoshi Shihaimono, have declared war against the Gotei 13! The Captains of the Fourth, Eighth, and Eleventh have joined the Betrayer’s cause!

The Captain Commander’s order is that the members of these rebel Divisions stand-down; those that follow the Commander’s orders shall be pardoned for such treason; those that defy his orders, he will personally execute!

All other Divisions are to infiltrate the Divisions of the rebels, and arrest all who do not denounce their treasonous Captains; those who resist are to be eliminated!

I repeat! Those who resist are to be eliminated!“

And like that, her voice was gone, leaving the denizens of the Seireitei to decide their course of action; a crossroads had presented itself to each Shinigami, a choice that would change the course of both their lives, and that of the history of the Soul Society.

Yet, there were a handful of Shinigami who would receive an additional message, as the respective hell butterflies fluttered to land on their shoulders…

Hachiko Goseikanjo

Captain Kuchiki’s voice…

“My dear Hachikō. I’m sorry that this information had to reach you in this way, but forgive me; Captain Shihaimono pleaded that I keep our plans away from all, even my most trusted.

What you’ve just heard is true. Captain Shihaimono leads us in rebellion against the Captain Commander, and the Central Forty-Six. The Soul Society has suffered too long, and our patience has run thin. Kō, my love, I plead to you: believe in Captain Shihaimono’s cause, and help us see it through.

My blade has crossed with Captain Tsunayashiro’s; I do not know if I will see you again…

…find me.”

Fuyuko Munetoshi

Captain Shihaimono’s voice…

“Vice-Captain Munetoshi, listen to my words; let them ignite the fire within your heart.

As you did with me, and I before you; we as the Ninth, have pledged to protect the Seireitei from its enemies, both foreign and domestic. The Gotei 13 is a shadow of itself, filled with rot that has been festering for too long; if left untreated, the disease will eat away at us all.

That is why we must defend it against itself. It is time to cut out the cancerous tumor, and allow the Soul Society to heal.

I kept my plan away for you, to protect you; I see now that it was a mistake. I hope you can forgive me.

Now, protect the Division from anyone who would seek to do it harm.”

Shin’eki Uemura

Third Seat Akinawa’s voice…

“Rusty! HELLO?! The Captain’s vanished and Vice-Captain Tsunyashiro just got woken up by that transmission! He’s PISSED! Where the hell are you?! Hurry up and get here before the Vice-Captain loses his shit!”

After spending time with Hikari, he returned to the real world, ready to speak with 3rd seat Teishi. He introduced himself and told her why he was there even though Lt Munetoshi had done that earlier. Even so, his reasoning for being there was slightly different as it had pertained to the safety of Central 46.

The other third seat had spoken to him, letting him know the pleasure it was to be at his service. In response, he nodded. As the third seat of the 12th division started moving, he followed. Focused on getting the information, he didn't take any time to look around as they past the various rooms and offices. After many turns, they finally arrived. Once the door was opened, he stepped inside cautiously per the insistence of 3rd seat Teishi. The office looked like a space for comfort rather than work. Kinkō wasn't much of a fan.

He walked to a position that would allow him to be as physically ready should this be a trap. It didn't seem like much of one but one must always be careful when dealing with anyone.

He felt it! The powerful spiritual energy that had appeared. He was focused on the power. What was the source? Was this an attack? Another massacre? Another sign that there was someone who was executing people?

It was gone! Even so, Kinko knew it wasn't over. Before, the killings would happen stealthily but with the amount of spirit energy that was being outputted, this was different. Maybe the killer finally had what they needed to take on the Seireitei and its shinigami. Sure, they were able to take out a gate guardian and 3 captains but they were all individual. Who ever it was had to be aware that they were going to have to face the remaining captains as well as the shinigami of the 13 court guard squads, right?

Either way, Kinkō's instincts were urging him to be careful with those around him. They were now all questionable. He felt the silence. It was rather unnerving instead of the quiet he enjoyed. He felt nothing, like he was all alone in the world but he knew that not to be true. He remained calm but placed a hand on the hilt of his zanpakuto. Then he felt it, the battle of Reiatsu. He wasn't fond of what was going on and was very ready for whatever it was to become present.

The Captain Commander's and the Captain of the 9th's reiatsu were felt at magnificent levels. Then there was his captain's and his cousin's. Why were those two together? What was going on? Was his captain trying to finish what his clan started and end the leadership of the Kuchiki to see it all? Then there was Captain Nakazawa and Captain Kusumoto. Then came the almost overwhelming spiritual pressure of the Kenpachi, Captain Murakami. Near that monstrous spiritual energy felt the Captain of the 12th and the 6th spiritual pressures but in no time, the 6th's was gone.

The attackers were revealed. What was surprising was Sachiko Kuchiki was among them. Though the command was given to go to the squads of the traitors, Kinkō felt that his place should be at the location where Kuchiki and Tsunayashiro were clashing.

First, he would need to figure out if the Lt of the 9th was following in her captain's footsteps. He drew his sword defensively. He wasn't going to attack first at any rate. He needed to use his time purposefully. "Lieutenant Munetoshi, Third Seat Teishi, do understand that my blade is drawn as a precaution. Do you stand with those who are willing to destroy the soul society or do you stand with those who will defend her? If you are with the former, I will have to ask you to stand down and turn yourself in to me. There is no need for unnecessary blood shed. If you are one of the defenders of our home, then you heard the commander's orders. So where do you stand?"
