Grimaldi’s eyes narrowed as Oyuki’s frosted challenge echoed across the ruined battleground. A slow, mirthless smile crept across his face—a promise of carnage yet to come.

Before the chilling grip of winter could fully settle, Grimaldi’s own reiatsu surged forth like a living force. The icy shards and creeping frost that trailed Oyuki’s descent were repelled instantly, slamming back in disarray as if caught in a vortex of searing energy. His aura twisted reality around him, bending the very laws of gravity to his will, ensuring that nothing came too close.

“Show me what you have, boy…” Oyuki’s voice had been laced with melancholy and challenge, but Grimaldi’s retort came not in words but in the storm of his attack.

Without a word, Grimaldi’s form shifted, his movements a blur—a speed unmatched that kept him always at a perfect distance. In one fluid, almost imperceptible gesture, he flicked his hand toward the frozen onslaught. The air rippled as a barrage of Cero erupted from his fingertips, each beam a different note in a discordant symphony of destruction. Some surged forth like lethargic, ominous pulses, while others raced away with the velocity of a bullet—each trajectory calculated to confound and overwhelm.

Each Cero carried the signature of his reiatsu, a hidden secret of volatile power. As they streaked through the chaos, their energies rippled outward, forcefully pushing back any ice or frost that dared approach. One beam, thin and razor-sharp, cut a luminous trail across the neon-green sky, its momentum a silent threat that promised catastrophic impact upon collision.

The barrage of Cero converged upon Oyuki’s encroaching form, each explosion a testament to Grimaldi’s unyielding will and the raw, unpredictable power he wielded. The shockwaves of these impacts shattered the fragile veneer of ice, sending fragments and frost scattering like the remnants of a failed winter.

In that split-second of explosive clarity, Grimaldi maintained his lethal distance—a masterful dance of speed and devastation. His eyes glowed with a secret ferocity as he prepared for whatever cold fury Oyuki might unleash next, confident that his own chaotic might would forever keep him one step ahead in this deadly waltz.

Oyuki’s melancholy remained as the boy began his attack. Why would such a trained soldier be in a state of mourning when faced with an adversary with such potential. The test of his reiatsu only muddled by that of his opponents essence however upon closer examination the figure in question could find that wasn’t going to be enough to stop the encroaching winter that was the shinigami in question. The boy could indeed find that his reiatsu had gone to blows with Oyuki’s own but that was merely a drop in the bucket by comparison to what awaited his onslaught. The two of them were likely going to be more than a simple display of lights or even destruction for that matter as the boy took about his pace and began to fire his barrage of Cero he could find Oyuki almost ethereal in his movements. The cold air around his form only shifting to match the flow of the boy’s own cero as they traveled the distance at breakneck pace only to be met with the inevitable. After all that was the thing about winter, it was unforgiving in the way it devoured life. It moved without hesitation and it brought life to its knees in a matter of days, minutes, seconds? Seconds. Even volatile energy such as a cero was brought to its knees in the wake of Oyuki’s zanpakuto. Where this boy found himself manipulating the ebb and flow of gravity he could find Oyuki’s answer something equally as world altering. The very ground beneath his feet was coated in frost. His efforts to keep Oyuki’s reiatsu at bay were fruitful however it would take far more than a simple burst of energy to fend off the threat of winter itself. The shards of ice that were now floating down to the earth in a hail of destruction and disarray were merely another tool to be used.

Grimaldi’s cero encroached on Oyuki’s position but what the boy could find in its wake was premature detonation. The air itself filled with moisture palpable in these moments as they grew closer while they ebbed and flowed through the debris. Perhaps they had found their mark or perhaps that was the folly of a beast denying the inevitable. What Grimaldi could find in Oyuki’s defense was an ethereal presence: the ravenous hunger of winter making itself known as the first of many was struck down. Where their energies hoped to repel the ambient chill they would be met by a form forged of the very thing they hoped to outrun. Just as quickly as the cero came was just as quickly as they were cut down. Their premature detonation a chilling calculated retort of Oyuki’s skill with a zanpakuto. Forged from the very essence of his zanpakuto images of Oyuki’s own form were clear as day as the cero descended upon him and yet they seemed to be reacting without hesitation as the first was struck it would become apparent to Grimaldi just how grave his situation was. The first cero to make contact with would erupt and rather than consume in a well of volatile energy they would erupt and merely thud to the ground. Had the boy possessed the perception necessary he would find the manifestation of Oyuki’s form forged of ice all the same as the chill his reiatsu brought about however this was far more aggressive. Each cero would find itself met with an ethereal blade made manifest. A silent utterance came from Oyuki’s mouth as it all began to unfold. “Frost Mirage: Eternal Wraith (氷幻影: 永遠の亡霊, Kōri Gen’ei: Eien no Bōrei). “ And like a ticking time bomb things began to play out. Some would be met with the solid embrace of the ground, the others would be struck skyward colliding with one another in the air, some meters away even being met with the taste of that thin cero the boy hoped to catch Oyuki with. The touch of these ethereal manifestations of Oyuki had just the same lethality as the original, the embrace of their own Zanpakuto making contact with a collective sense of lethal grace.

Grimaldi would find that despite his efforts of pushing winter back with force it only continued. The shallow placement of ice made by Oyuki’s reiatsu only aided in the endeavor of his defence like a perpetual fountain of his own chilling willpower. Their hope of destruction was being met with the combination of Oyuki’s combat acumen, his zanpakuto’s most basic make up, and that of only a single taste of its true power. These orbs of destruction only partially detonating in their frozen prison as upon closer examination the boy could find that the very energy that made them up was brought to a chilling pause. Their volatile essence sapped and made to bend the knee to the unrelenting reality of winter itself. Where this boy found himself controlling the flow of gravity he could find that in the frozen hellscape that Oyuki commanded it was as if they were caught in the ocean of space itself. Their battle a muffled mewling amidst the other chaos that peppered the rest of Naruki City. As for the thin cero that found itself cutting across the neon lit sky it could find itself met with the impact of one of Grimaldi’s own cero. Just as the boy had hoped his hidden threat met cataclysm however it wasn’t in light of making contact with Oyuki but a device of his machinations. The result? A chilling hail of fragmented ice. Despite the destruction of both ice and debris alike it would become clear that perhaps the water this boy had come to tread was far deeper than he endeavored. He no sooner would find that even the neon lit sky was reflected. Perhaps he was staring into a mirror of despair. In turn he could find Oyuki’s original form muddled amongst that of his zanpakuto’s own creations. Their deadly dance still had so much to offer and only time would tell just how graceful it would truly be.

Time was of the essence as it pertains to the situation in Naruki city. The reports kept pinging to his Denreishinki device, giving him live updates on both Naruki and Karakura town. Still with his Zanpakuto already drawn the Captain maintained his stride as he edged closer to his destination. Before he could arrive in the city, more Shinigami had been mobilised and moved into action. The sleeper agents if you will freed themselves of their Gigai and sprung into action. Their sole purpose was to confront the Hollows ravaging the city. It was a simple task, kill them all without mercy. A portion of the forces were focused on rescuing humans, protecting and containing the situation. Others were directed to unleash their own savagery upon the beasts plaguing Izanagi’s domain. The Senkaimons were being opened at various locations throughout the city. Some were more strategic, while others appeared to be at random. Captain Jushiro’s own arrival on the scene was more random than anything.

Before he could make it to Naruki City, he pondered the many reasons behind the attacks. Estarossa did warn him of things getting weird in Hueco Mundo. And perhaps now he will understand the reason behind such words. He hadn’t seen or heard anything concerning the purple haired fiend for quite some time. Be that as it may, Jushiro had a job to do. Eliminate all threats and protect the city and by extension humans of all kinds. The masked one was in no mood for foolery. This bold attack on Naruki and Karakura town was an affront to he who remains masked. He could not simply sit by and let this go without an appropriate response.

“Unleash your fury, Kisshouten”. With those words the sealed form of his Zanpakuto morphed into its Shikai state. The blade itself is truly one of a kind in both style and substance. The intentional release of his Shikai is an indication as to the seriousness of the situation.

The Senkaimon’s coordinates took him to what was a rather undesired location. As the doors pulled themselves apart to reveal the masked man behind it. Izanagi found himself in the midst of a few others. Arriving in the middle of the Arrancars spoken words to the one deemed 'strange'. His golden eyes behind the black mask observed the strange pink haired scoundrel. His senses were sharp and his Reiatsu made it clear that he was in fact a Shinigami. His Hoari most of all signalled that he was also a Captain. But of which division was he the leader? There they were high above ground. Stepping through the Senkaimon with a cup of tea in his right hand and his Zanpakuto in his left. Since before the Senkaimon opened, he was at the ready. Having no idea how he’d be received, so best to be prepared. He could already feel the various Reiatsu signatures throughout the area. Some were more prominent than others, a sure sign of their strength. The sound of battle taking place was like a sweet melody. And yet the destruction taking place in the city certainly aggravated him. The cold embrace that he felt was a most welcome one. Jushiro could already sense Oyuki’s Reiatsu and that of his opponent.

“I see he’s providing me with a very useful platform here. Thanks for the assist”. Izanagi’s thoughts were directed at Oyuki, the fifth division Lieutenant causing a vicious drop in the temperature. This was perceived as good news to the silver haired fox.

The Senkaimon closed and what intrigued Jushiro most was the imposter. It was an obvious ploy, one easily detected by him but what of the human? “I will take it as a compliment that you’re trying to impersonate me. You’re just not good enough, Hollow”. Jushiro said in reply to the Arrancar’s attempt at impersonating a Shinigami. The man had taken up a position which kept him out of the Arrancar’s striking range. And since laying eyes on the woman, he’d be looking for any indication of ill intent towards him. Jushiro’s senses remained sharp while relaying a message to the human. One that she’d be able to perceive from her location if her eyes were sharp enough.

The words 'Don't trust that bitch’ appeared on the surface of the black mask. Illuminated to make it clear that the person in front of her shouldn’t be trusted. “This is turning into a shit show, how about you fall on my blade face first and die?”. His words were of course directed at the imposter. His right hand lifted his cup of tea towards his lips, although said lips were not yet revealed, meanwhile winter's embrace sought to encase the imposter in a cube of ice. The space around the Arrancar had suddenly frozen over, seemingly occurring in a flash. It was an easy choice to make, stand still and be frozen or flee from the Captain. Such a choice needed to be made before the man could have a sip of his tea. The drop in temperature was further aided by Oyuki, a simple by-product of his power. Izanagi only needed to give it a push through the use of Kisshouten. The masked one wanted to separate the Arrancar and the human. All the while keeping tabs on his surroundings and likewise the human in their presence. The various hollows scattered about and those in their vicinity were being accounted for. Izanagi could sense that other humans of a similar nature weren't so far away from his position. Now that he'd thrown the first blow, he was ready to react and follow up as necessary. It could all get interesting from this point on.

Grimaldi observed Oyuki’s ethereal movements, noting how the cold air around him shifted in harmony with his opponent’s presence. As his ceros hurtled towards Oyuki, Grimaldi’s keen senses detected a premature detonation of his attacks, the volatile energy dissipating into the moisture-laden atmosphere. Through the haze of debris, he discerned that his ceros had been intercepted, their destructive force nullified before reaching their target.

Recognizing the futility of a direct assault, Grimaldi decided to employ a more strategic approach. He deftly dodged any incoming attacks from Oyuki, his Sonído allowing him to maneuver with lightning speed, evading potential threats with minimal effort. Amidst the chaos of exploding ceros, Grimaldi subtly released the smaller end of his chained zanpakuto, Calabozo. The weapon snaked through the battlefield, concealed by the lingering smoke and energy residue, aiming to deliver a precise slash across Oyuki’s cheek. This calculated move served both as a warning and a declaration: Grimaldi was toying with the Shinigami, testing his defenses and resolve.

Continuing his evasive maneuvers, Grimaldi focused on analyzing Oyuki’s ice-based attacks. He observed the formation and trajectory of the icy shards, noting their speed and the ambient temperature drop accompanying their release. By studying the patterns and intervals of these assaults, Grimaldi aimed to identify potential weaknesses or exploitable gaps in Oyuki’s offense, all while maintaining a defensive posture to minimize exposure to the chilling onslaught.

Throughout this exchange, Grimaldi refrained from revealing his Resurrección, opting instead to gather intelligence on Oyuki’s combat style and abilities. He recognized that Oyuki perceived their clash as a contest of reiatsu, a battle of spiritual pressures. However, Grimaldi’s unique aspect of death—Intoxication—granted him the ability to manipulate gravitational forces, both repelling and attracting. As the ceros detonated around Oyuki, each explosion subtly intensified the gravitational pull, creating localized black holes that incrementally drew the Shinigami closer to Grimaldi’s core. This tactic aimed to disrupt Oyuki’s balance and positioning, setting the stage for a decisive strike once a vulnerability was exposed.

By combining misdirection, precise attacks, and a deep understanding of gravitational manipulation, Grimaldi sought to outmaneuver Oyuki, turning the tide of battle in his favor without prematurely unveiling his full power.

A monster shouts at her, shouting something about bringing her to an Espada. Was that thing going to bring her to a sword? Was that their own form of slang to dementedly say they are about to kill her? If so it was a well crafted threat, Victoria knows enough basic Spanish to know what espada means, but to others who don’t know the language it could sound very menacing. Despite all this the woman was ready to strike and just before she could let loose with a left jab an axe slams into the head of the monster, cutting clean through it and killing it. Standing before Victoria was a woman clad in white wearing a strange mask. So far everything with a mask has been trying to kill her so she keeps her guard up as the woman speaks to her.

“You’re human, yet at the same time… not human. Though that doesn’t matter now. All that matters is that we have to get you out of here. I can take you to the Soul Society if you wish. After all this is said and done, we Shinigami can return you back here… Oh, I am Captain Erina Hoshi of the Tenth Division. If you’re wondering about my outfit, Captains have more freedom when it comes to their own.”

Soul Society? Shinigami? Captain of the Tenth Division? Captain outfit? What the hell is this woman even saying right now? None of what she is saying makes any sense but using context clues from the words alone Victoria assumes Soul Society must be some sort of afterlife and… And Shinigami means Death God. The air around them swirls more than before as Victoria’s gaze narrows, hyper focused on this masked woman spouting nonsense at her. Is that what these monsters are called? Death Gods or Shinigami? They wear masks and spread death, this woman wears a mask and killed the monster without a second thought, it seemed like it was in her way more than her trying to save Victoria. Before she could retort or act another Reiatsu signature showed up, this one more obvious, vaguely familiar as it was a type of Reiatsu she had sensed before. To her surprise it was a Samurai, the kind that showed up and killed these monsters, however, he too was wearing a mask.

“I will take it as a compliment that you’re trying to impersonate me. You’re just not good enough, Hollow.”

Another word, Hollow, this one is plain english so aside from the definition of the word she doesn’t know how it relates to the woman before her. The mask of the samurai flashed the words 'Don't trust that bitch’ but she doesn’t trust him either, she doesn’t trust anyone with a mask at the current moment. Victoria slides her foot back, ready to flee from the scene as soon as the opportunity presents itself. This is when the Samurai uses his ability to attempt freezing the woman in a block of ice. While that happens Victoria leaps back to put more distance between herself, the woman and the Samurai. Air still swirling about the three of them as she grits her teeth, trying to figure out what her next move should even be.

”This is fucked… One calls themselves a Shinigami and then another one shows up, in a mask, saying she is an imposter. Never seen a Samurai in a white coat before but she is wearing white too… Are they allies? And his mask is different from the monsters running around but so is hers… What the fuck man…”

Victoria won't be the first one to make a move, she will wait until someone attacks her first, if they are both after her she’ll fight them both, if one of them is an ally or at least not out to kill her, she’ll aid them as best she can. For now this has become a “Mexican Standoff”.

A low, pulsating bassline rattled the walls of the dimly lit apartment, neon LEDs casting an eerie glow over the cluttered workspace. Shiro Uematsu sat hunched over his setup, fingers drumming against a MIDI controller as he layered beats, each vibration resonating deep in his chest. His black hoodie hung loose over his frame, the glow of his screen reflecting off his high-collared jacket. The track was incomplete—something was missing. Something he couldn’t name.

His sound was different from others in the underground scene. It wasn’t just the weight of the bass or the eerie, warped vocals he sometimes added; it was the way his music lingered—how the vibrations seemed to seep into the cracks of reality, drawing in more than just a human audience. He always called it music for ghosts, but lately, he was starting to feel like the phrase wasn’t just marketing.

Then it happened.

The beat was steady, smooth, but something beneath it shifted. A deep, reverberating thud rolled through the apartment, shaking the half-empty bottles of energy drinks and vinyl records stacked near his turntables. The bass? No. Too strong. Another tremor followed, this one sharp enough to rattle the windowpanes. A soundless pressure crept into the room, making the air thick—too thick.

Shiro sat up straight, pulse quickening.

Something was happening.

The city trembled.

A distant wail, the kind that cut through the night and crawled under your skin, echoed beyond the walls of his apartment. The shaking wasn’t just his sound system’s doing—it was something real, something bigger. Shiro exhaled sharply, pushing away from his desk. Maybe it was just a minor quake. Naruki City had its fair share of weird shit, but this felt different.

His hands moved instinctively—phone, keys, jacket. The moment his fingers curled around his helmet, he knew there was only one place to go. He needed to feel this, to hear the city’s rhythm in chaos. Inspiration hit in moments like these, and if Naruki was alive with destruction, he needed to listen.

The streets blurred past as Shiro weaved through traffic, his motorcycle slicing through the night like a specter in motion. Smoke curled in the distance, neon signs flickering wildly as power grids struggled against the unnatural tremors. He didn’t know what he was looking for, only that his gut told him to follow the sound—the unseen frequency that pulsed beneath the city’s skin.

Then he saw it.

A familiar figure stood outside the club that had given him his first real stage, The Remeltindtdrinc. The name was an impossible mess of syllables, but Victoria, its owner, had never cared whether people could pronounce it—only that they knew it.

But she wasn’t alone.

Two figures stood before her in a silent, tense standoff. One male, one female. Both masked. Both emanating a presence Shiro didn’t like.

Shiro didn’t stop to think.

The beat dropped.

He twisted the throttle to full, sending his motorcycle roaring forward, the sound cutting through the heavy air like a needle through vinyl. He kicked up at the last moment, sending the bike hurtling toward the masked woman with reckless force, the momentum turning it into a steel projectile.

At the same time, his hand reached up, yanking down his collar. His breath hitched. His scar burned.

Shiro’s voice cut through reality like a blade:

“Blast.”

A raw, pulsating force rippled through the air—a frequency beyond sound, beyond logic. It distorted space, folded it. The masked male barely had time to react before the impact slammed into him like a club made of sheer, invisible force. The air warped, pressure exploding outward, attempting to launch him away from Victoria with enough force to crack pavement.

Shiro exhaled sharply, adjusting his collar as he took his place beside Victoria. His voice was tight, raw from the command, but his lips quirked slightly as he nodded to her.

“Treble.”

It was the only way he could talk to her safely. She would know that he meant to ask if she was in trouble, a rhetorical question.

Shiro cracked his knuckles, his pulse still syncing with the city’s shaking rhythm. Whatever was happening tonight, it wasn’t just an earthquake. It was a drop. He tossed his head phones over his shoulder where you could still hear the bass thumping from them.

Her eyes shifted back as she felt the reiatsu signature of a Shinigami appear before he even had a chance to speak, yet her eyes never faltered from the sight of Victoria, as her eyes said it all, so many questions, many of them unanswered. Did she go too far? Does this human not know what a Shinigami is? Ahh, well, that didn’t matter now, as the real Shinigami appeared, Emillia’s body would turn itself around as the Shinigami spoke, a masked one? Along with the captain’s coat, his zanpakutō active from the looks of his blade.

“A Shinigami captain that wears a mask? Interesting… Why conceal that face? What’s also interesting is his reiatsu signature—it’s a bit higher, even for a captain. He’s most likely in Shikai, judging from both that reiatsu signature and his zanpakutō length. He’s an odd one for carrying a teacup… How does he expect to drink from it? Does he drink cold tea like a madman? Or does he have a way of keeping it warm? The Espada are an odd bunch, but him? He’s weirder than the Tres.”

The air shifting around her was more than just that, she could feel it, in her bones, that air was freezing, getting colder, moving unnaturally, along with the small flows of reiatsu mixed in. Her form shifted unsteadily for a moment before she corrected herself, though the shivering betrayed her struggle against the cold.

Then, she realized it—an attack was coming.

Her eyes closed, as she seemed to accept her fate, as her shoulders began to sink, her breathing slowing down, while her eyes opened up, glaring at the captain as the ice would swallow her whole. The weight of which caused it to plummet down, into the ground, while the motorcycle would completely miss its mark.

THUD!

Crackling sounds could be heard before ice shards could be seen flying upwards, threatening to hit and pierce through the Shinigami captain and the two humans, the shards aimed to pierce their bodies, that cold feeling washing over them all as the ice shards flew towards them all, each one aiming to pierce through their bodies, legs, torso, neck, and face like steel tearing through flesh and bone. While Emillia’s already suppressed reiatsu seemed to fade away into nothing, after the ice cube had violently shattered.

For the moment, the battle seemed won, the Arrancar was encased in ice and then shattered, an easy win. All thanks to the captain’s mastery over his zanpakutō, those weird humans were safe, or so they seemed, as the city was still set ablaze by the Hollows running amok across the streets, Hollows screaming off in the distance, followed by both human and Shinigami screaming as they were being ripped apart.

From 10th Division

She was the last one to step through the Senkaimon and the last one to see the state of the City she has called home for quite some time. The destruction, the flames, the dead… She only hopes none of the people she has called classmates or friends have been swept up in this. She takes the smallest bit of comfort knowing that her best friend has already escaped the city and is safe, she hopes that is true for the others from her school. She takes another step forward and drops out of the air onto some rubble down below. She can clearly sense the Shinigami battling the Arrancar alongside some Humans, Fullbringers. Her job isn’t to be concerned with that, her Captain even said not to get in his way. An order from her Captain, a reasonable order, yet somehow it irritates and ticks her off. She walks down a destroyed street, one that she has walked down before. Memories flooding back of when she and her friends paraded down this road as if their happy times would never end. Stopping to get unhealthy fast food, or to hang out at a nearby cafe after school, both of which were now dust. She continues her stride until a hollow lands in front of her, screaming then cackling.

”Well, well, well. Are you lost, little one!?”

Rage and Fury

The word little feels like a slur to her at this point in time and it was a poor choice of words from the Hollow. She reaches out and grabs it by the mask, her fingers sinking into it, crunching and crushing its face as it howls in pain. Yes, Kuwashii is strong, physically speaking she is a monster who doesn’t know how to fight properly. The only thing propping up her Hakuda and Zanjutsu are her strength. The Hollow raises a hand to try and strike her but she unleashes her Reiatsu in a jetstream towards the Hollow. Intensely burning it at first, enough to halt its movements. Kuwashii’s Reiatsu is hot, very, very, hot, she is a star after all. She thinks about it now, no one has seen her fight, all they ever see is the reports of what she took down. The one time she could have shown everyone what she was about was interrupted by ego. Her hand tightens on the mask as she releases her Reiatsu in a torrent of flame that erupts down the street. The orange flames engulfed and snuffed out by the more vibrant white flames.

All that remained of the Hollow in her hand was a broken and scorched head that was dissolving in her hand. Her flames that now coat the street vanished, they are an extension of her Reiatsu after all. She takes off down the street, helping humans and killing Hollows when and where she could, mostly without a second thought. She fights recklessly, letting her intense heat waft up and down the streets. Normally she restricts herself from doing this because she doesn’t want to cause damage, but everything is already in ruins, so a bit more heat won’t hurt it. No matter how many Hollows she kills, a new one pops up, sometimes just roaring like a beast or commenting on her stature, assuming she will be an easy meal. Those are the ones that burn in her flames. The dead humans she performs Konso on ask her why this is all happening, she is so lost in her own mind and thoughts that she doesn’t bother to respond to them. So lost in her frustration and mind she didn’t realize she had her Reiatsu coating her body, the ghost she did save called her an angel. Kuwashii’s flames are regarded as beautiful, despite their destructive nature. She stops at one point to look towards the raging battles, gritting her teeth as she remembers her Captain's words once again. She relaxes and sighs, looking away from the fight and back to the city she holds dear in her heart.

”It doesn’t matter…”

She returns to the streets to save humans and slay Hollows, at the moment she has killed five Hollows in total.

Oyuki moved like a ghost in the night, his eyes filled with further mourning as his opponent’s attack was filled with folly. The strategy was sound, he could tell the boy in question was attempting to probe his defenses in hopes of finding a crack in the shield he had so deftly crafted. However it wasn’t going to be enough; his probing attack was only met with the icy air and chill of despair as it came into range. The fact that it was on a chain was both a blessing and a curse for the arrancar in question. That was the thing about winter once it was had set in things came to a standstill, life itself clawed at the reality of warmth leaving its form a soul sucking reality for the few creatures that called the very precipice of death home. Oyuki’s form seemingly unmoving, unwavering, but more importantly calculating as things would in turn become more apparent to the boy in question as his weapon penetrated the Oyuki’s would be defenses what the boy could find was that it had struck home in a way that he hadn’t hoped however. The chained blade could find itself making contact with a figure shaped like Oyuki however its form wasn’t quite as it seemed. Upon closer examination the boy could find that his blade had gone clean through the form he aimed to strike, not just simply slicing the neck but taking the head with it. The end result however wasn’t a fountain of crimson but a puff of icy debris he had managed to strike down one of Oyuki’s manifestations forged by his zanpakuto and the end result was rather telling as things began to unfold. What the boy could find in exchange for his chain striking out like a snake hoping to ward off invaders he could find its form becoming taught, heavy with the weight of reality and as such the subsequent ebb and flow of their own power was revealed. The air around the destruction of the clone seemed to shift flowing upwards ever so slightly and the rest of the cold air clung to the chain itself like a vice grip its weight clearly heavy in nature and more importantly bringing the boy's weapon to a snail's pace. It had come in hopes of tasting flesh and instead only found the bite of winter in return.

Their collective eyes seemed to flit in several directions all at once looking for their next piece of prey as a taste of Oyuki’s power was brought to bear. The encroaching winter that filled Naruki city and more importantly the battleground between Grimaldi and Oyuki as a whole was becoming more and more apparent. The chilling grasp of winter was now more than palpable s the mirror finish of the ground grew further, snaking through the streets and even more so devouring buildings. Human’s that found themselves in its wake only being graced with a biting cold causing them to bundle up as they were inevitably sealed in their homes for their own sake and those on the verge of death finding their bodies preserved to later be saved by the powers that be. Hollows that found themselves attempting to escape the chill of winter in hopes of devouring prey were equally as frozen solid, their forms becoming a delicate statue forged of malice and ill intent. As for what was happening in the immediate, however, Grimaldi’s probing attack was frozen solid just the same. This was in part due to the fact that it struck a form forged entirely of frost and mist itself. The decapitated form reforged itself just as quickly as it was struck down the chain now in the center of its body firmly grasping the length of its form with its icy hands. What Grimaldi could find in exchange had he attempted to pull the chain free from its Icy fetters was that the maw of winter was all consuming as ice would begin to rapidly consume the length of the chain and the blade in entirety leading straight back to his core just as he had hoped. The ebb and flow of his own power was going to be his demise. Greed was the thing that fed the demise of so many on the battlefield as the picture was continually painted with each stroke of violence.

Oyuki’s true form was seemingly nowhere to be seen among the cup game that was the ethereal copies of himself had one taken a closer look. The arrancar in question took a gamble in hopes of striking true on his prey. Yet rather than Grimaldi being able to turn Oyuki into prey he would in exchange find his bestial nature to do the hunting turned upon him. He was being hunted. The ghost of winter hauntingly apparent as even if the boy found himself on the run the icy mirror beneath the feet of those within Naruki city revealed all. Upon closer examination what the boy could find was that his power while telling was guilty of one thing and that was giving up his ability to truly be hidden. One could only hope what was to come was that Oyuki himself was coming to the forefront of the confrontation or perhaps even placing himself in a position to even observe the boy himself. He always thought the mentality of a cornered animal was the most fascinating. They were always eager to lash out, hopeful their pursuer would give up the chase and seek out another; winter did no such thing however. A few things could be noticed throughout the battlefield in an all encompassing view. The air was palpable filled with a chilling mist causing life to come to a crawl, energy sapped, hollows being brought to their knees as lifeless husks of their former selves, the area itself becoming soundless, and breath becoming pained as the air grew polar. The mewlings of battle are nowhere in the air at this point. Even the very destruction of one of Oyuki’s manifestations seemed to lack the typical audible crack and crunch that usually followed the shattering of ice or glass. It was clear something was wrong but even the humans that found themselves cowering in fear from their ghostly pursuers couldn’t quite put their finger on it. The frozen hellscape the two of them were calling home was turning into a living breathing ecosystem all the same, winter was here.

The arrival of Shiro was the definition of perfect timing because up until now she wasn’t sure who to trust, she was backed into a figurative corner between two people claiming to have the same rank or title or whatever it was. But now there is someone there she can trust and while they are there she has a bit more confidence in fighting back against whoever came at them. Shiro’s prompt attack on the masked male gave her some much needed breathing room since that masked male had also attacked this Erina Hoshi person. Also, with his attack she was able to launch her own, in her mind it was spiritual entities vs humans at this point and she wasn’t going to let these undead things win.

Victoria Strikes

The air Erina and Jushiro had been in, that swirling air dancing around them this entire time, was not the result of wind, it was Victoria pulling on the soul of the air around them. It had taken some time to get it right but the two masked individuals had given her plenty of time and Jushiro unknowingly aided in this next attack. Cold air naturally has less oxygen saturation, making it stagnate and harder to breathe in. Victoria was thinning out the air in a specific location, the location of Erina and Jushiro. In short, no breathable air means no activity, means… Suffocation. Erina would close her eyes, slowing her breathing, preparing to do something when she would suddenly be stricken by the thinned out cold air. Like someone put a cork in her lungs she would struggle to breath, gasping, perhaps panicking? Regardless, whatever she was planning on doing would be halted by this assault of oxygen deprivation.

Jushiro would suffer a similar fate as his breathing would be halted as well, a similar feeling of having his lungs corked would permeate throughout his body, seizing up motor functions. Seized up as he is, he wouldn't be able to respond to the oncoming attack from Shiro that was launched at him. These two spiritual entities are strangers to Victoria and Shiro, they have weapons in hand and the city is being destroyed. It is a fight for survival and Victoria wont go down without a fight, as the next step of her plan is enacted.

While trapped down in the alleyway the Hollow’s had busted it up pretty bad around Victoria, rupturing multiple pipes and causing natural gas to leak from them, Methane specifically. When the sound of the leaking gas had halted it wasn't because some sort of emergency valve had cut them off, the damage was too extensive for that. No, what happened was that Victoria quietly took that Methane for herself, its why she took to the air in the first place to make use of it. Victoria knows how natural gas works, anyone with a decent enough education does and there lies the second layer of her planned attack. The air didn’t need to swirl to simply be removed, no it could have been pushed away and pulled like a rug from under them. No, the swirling was because she was mixing the methane she had taken from the alley into the oxygen deprived space as well. Without oxygen, methane is free to exist without dissipating, it cannot be frozen and it is still very much so flammable. Drawing her pistol with her left hand she fires it between the two spiritual entities, a faint trail of methane leading back to the barrel. The bullet was not the danger but instead the explosive spark from the gun being fired was. Faint at first the flame quickly travels up the trail of methane leading all the way to the space it filled and then…

*BOOM!!*

It was like a bomb going off in the air above Naruki that made the city rumble, both Erina and Jushiro are caught in this massive explosion. Currently stunned and deprived of oxygen in their lungs their only hope is to “tank” the explosion that erupts around them. Victoria could have let them breathe the Methane in then exploded them from the inside out but they would have been able to smell it and more than anything she needed to create an opening to attack them, taking their oxygen away and by proxy their sense of smell, was the perfect opening she needed. She grabs Shiro by his collar, not wanting to waste time telling him to run since he looked ready to fight.

”We gotta get the hell outta here! I was planning on using that trick to kill the monsters but something tells me those two are strong enough to survive that attack! I’m not trying to fuck around and find out how strong!”

Using her Bringer Light she attempts to escape away from the two she just exploded and the other menace’s fighting some distance away.
