“It has been far too long since I was last here. It was nothing more then a small village, built out of wood, stone and paper. Now it is something I couldn’t even imagine as a small and lowly hollow… Disgusting.”

There she stood on top of a sky scraper, as she looked down upon the city. Eyes watching as the Adjucha were the first to break through but above them the Menos would peak their heads out from the kūmon, in that moment the unmistakeable red light of a cero could be seen building up at the mouth, before finally launching forward and up the road, eviscerating the vehicles, people and the road itself, destabilizing the electrical poles around the area and causing them to fall, and hit gas lines that once connected to the near by buildings, setting the streets ablaze.

The lesser hollows could be seen running across the destroyed roads, as more ceros would be seen blasting through the streets, each in different directions as more Gillian could be seen breaking through their kūmon. The lesser hollows were running amuck killing humans and devouring the plus’s that were around, some were being converted into hollows, their bodies contorting as muscles bubbling and bulging out, their arms and legs extending as their once human looking body took on the form of various animal shapes and sizes.

“What a lovely smell, even from all the way up here it never ceases amaze me, even if it is just human blood. Ohh… It has been a long time…”

Her attention had turned towards the sun, as it began to lower itself, with each passing second until finally the that familiar glow would shine upon her, causing her head to turn towards the moon, it was familiar to her, yet at the same time not, it had felt like her world had been flipped upside down, it was both right and wrong, something so odd to explain.

“It was nice while it lasted but the night in a city like this, almost makes me wish I was a human or worse… a Shinigami. Speaking of which… They should be coming soon.”

Her hand gripped her zanpakutō tightly, as her foot tapped against the cement floor on top the skyscraper, she would walk to the parapet and press her foot against it, watching the hollows kill, all that was down below. The sound of horns blaring, along with the sound of sirens could be heard, as fire crews came out to try and put out the fire, only to be met with an invisible claw stabbing through their bodies. Terror could be seen on the faces, as they had watched their friends get lifted up in the air, while the one that was stabbed could see the hollow clear as day, then in split second their head would be bitten clean off as blood splattered across the pavement and people below.

“Vamos, bastardos, tráiganme piezas del Rey de las Almas. Necesito ver hasta dónde podemos llevar los límites con esto. O mejor aún… Shinigami, vengan a su muerte, porque cada uno que muere hace que su Sociedad de Almas sea mucho más... débil.”

((“Come on you bastards, bring me pieces of the Soul King. I need to see how far we can push the envelope with this one, or better yet. Shinigami come to your death, for everyone that dies makes your soul society that much… Weaker.”))

"We are here, Chillon you stay here in case we have to make an explosive exit."

The night's new sky peeled away once more, splitting open with a jagged, gaping wound as the Garganta widened. From its abyssal depths, Grimaldi's Hollows surged forth like a ravenous pack, their shrill howls blending into the cacophony already gripping Naruki City.

But the destruction had already begun. The first tremors of the so-called "gas line malfunctions" had shattered buildings, sending plumes of fire and debris skyward. Distant explosions cracked through the silence of slumbering streets, their shockwaves rolling like thunder through the city’s spine. Sirens wailed in a fractured chorus, warning too late, their cries swallowed by the screams of those who woke to find their homes collapsing around them.

Windows burst in rapid succession, glass shards raining like deadly stars onto the pavement below. The groan of steel beams giving way under immense pressure was a beastly sound, deep and guttural, before entire structures crumbled into a choking storm of dust and rubble. Cars screeched and twisted, some launching into the air as the ground beneath them fractured.

Grimaldi's Hollows slithered through this chaos with eerie intent, weaving into the dark corners, the sewers, the fractured alleyways where desperate souls sought refuge. Their orders were simple: blend in, hunt, bait the strong—but without tearing the city apart. Not yet.

Grimaldi himself lingered, stepping into the night’s open sky, his lips curling into an amused grin. In the midst of devastation, his gaze found something more beautiful than the chaos—a full, luminous moon.

He lifted a hand toward it, fingers outstretched as if he could pluck it from the heavens.

"That's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."

His voice cut through the night like a whisper of doom, seconds before his amusement turned to hunger.

His fingers clenched into a fist. Nails dug into flesh.

Then...
A spear of raw Reiatsu erupted from him, carving down a large skyscraper, like a jagged scar of power. The air itself howled in protest, windows shattered for blocks, and those sensitive to spiritual energy felt its weight press against their lungs, suffocating, unbearable.

Even on the far side of Naruki, Those spiritually aware would feel it—an unmistakable call, a storm waiting to break.
The pulse of Grimaldi’s Reiatsu was not just a shockwave—it was an event.

The city convulsed as if reality itself had been punched inward. The chaos, the dust, the debris... everything surged toward him, drawn by an unseen force, collapsing toward his core like a black hole had torn open in the heart of Naruki. Flames bent unnaturally, their tongues licking backward before being snuffed out by the sheer vacuum of spiritual pressure. Screams were cut short as the air itself was pulled, leaving a suffocating silence before the inevitable.

For a moment, time seemed to stretch thin.

Suspended in the air, entire vehicles hovered weightlessly, their twisted metal groaning in protest. Shattered glass, chunks of concrete, lifeless bodies, all held aloft in eerie defiance of gravity, circling Grimaldi like he was the center of some cruel celestial dance. Even the sirens warped, their distorted wails choking against the overwhelming force pulling everything in.

Then, the silence snapped.

With a thunderous release, everything slammed into the ground at once. Cars crumpled like paper under an unseen fist, their steel frames imploding. Pavement splintered into deep, jagged fractures. The very foundations of buildings groaned, snapping under the sudden and relentless force. Dust storms erupted from the impact, turning the air thick and suffocating as the earth itself trembled beneath the weight of his power.

And if one had dared to blink, to recoil, to shield their eyes from the horror unfolding, They would only open them to find the sky ablaze in neon green.

A thin, razor-sharp streak of volatile energy cut through the darkness like a spear hurled by a vengeful god. It was not a massive, unwieldy blast but a refined and violent beam of destruction, moving with the speed of a Bala. It did not crawl, nor did it give warning—it simply was.

The Gran Rey Cero screamed through the heavens, a jagged wound of pure annihilation racing down this massive building. The air burned in its wake, warping and twisting from the sheer volatility of its presence.

For those still standing, for those still breathing, there was no time to process, only time to watch.

Club Remeltindtdrinc

A popular nightclub in Naruki City is currently packed full of the wealthiest and most prolific celebrities and influencers Japan has to offer. Music booms, the bass rattles the walls, the fluorescent blue lights make the club feel like a living, breathing music video. Despite the few people on the dance floor actually dancing there are many others who are just on their phones, taking pictures, streaming, or making videos about being in the most popular club in the city known only as Remeltindtdrinc. Such an exclusive club to get into, so heavily gatekept by those who deem themselves “the elite” that anyone who can’t pronounce the name is not allowed to tag along with them. The owner of the club watches from her office, looking at the patrones with a frown. Despite the loud music and the lighting, the effort to make the club feel like a music video, people are more enamored about being in the club rather than experiencing it. The owner created this club chain because she likes the vibes of this sort of scene, seeing people dancing, drinking, laughing, and even the occasional fight.

”Shut it down, I’m sick of looking at this self worshiping shit.”

”What? We’ve only been open for an hour and a half! We’ll lose-”

The club owner, Victoria Remeltindtdrinc, snatches the man up by his collar, security stepping in to diffuse the situation only for the woman to pull a gun out, aim it at the guards then put the barrel under the man’s chin.

”And I’ll lose my fucking sanity if I gotta keep looking at this dumb shit. So shut it down, or I’ll shut you down, permanently.”

She lets him go and he scrambles out of the office to tell everyone to leave the building. She looks around at the guards with a frown of disgust on her face.

”And what the fuck were you bozos about to do? Pull us apart? Hold me back? Would have had me sending flowers to families talking about ‘sorry for your loss’.”

She reholsters the gun in a hidden holster on the back of her waistline. The security detail trembles nervously, they had never worked with her before, this was their first night in fact. Her usual security crew was left with her DJ who was attending to other things. Despite never having dealt with the woman before they felt like they dodged a literal bullet, a feeling that she would have killed them, apologized to their families, and not given a single damn. She walks over to her desk, grabbing her phone off a charger, putting it in her pocket, grabbing a set of keys and a wallet, stuffing them both in the opposite pocket. The man she spoke with earlier returned to the office, letting her know that he has her limo already prepped and ready for her as well. She doesn’t acknowledge his words but as she walks past him she knocks him out with a swift right hook.

”Next time, fucking listen to me the first time! Fucking kiss asses always worried about money…”

She mumbles a slew of other obscenities as she storms out through the back entrance to avoid the pretentious crowd who would love nothing more than to fill their social media with photos and videos of them meeting her or even being near her. The night was painfully early for her, she was full of energy and raging. As the limo drives through the city, taking a scenic route which is something she requests for often, she hears the distant roar of a Hollow, a sound that makes a bead of sweat drip down her forehead. No one else but her can hear it and that is what scares her most. No one can perceive these monsters, not with any of their five senses but she can, with all five including a sixth, an utter curse. She inhales slowly and exhales shakily. She pours herself a glass of whiskey with trembling hands and tosses it back without flinching. There are hopes that it will calm her nerves but she knows better, she knows it doesn’t help. There is another roar, and another, beasts all over the city. In her mind this is an apocalyptic scenario, the end times.

Monsters

She begins shivering, curled up in the back of the limo hoping that the monsters will just go away, far, far away. But then the worst case scenario comes to pass, a Hollow lands on the limo, killing her driver instantly. If not for her seatbelt she would have been ejected from the vehicle, but luckily it saved her from being thrown out, not that it would have killed her, or even hurt her. The Hollow munches on the remains of the driver it smashed and starts peeling back the rest of the shredded metal looking for more victims, like someone peeling open a chip bag for the last few crumbs. It peels open the vehicle remains and then…

*BOOM!!!!*

A gunshot rings out and the Hollow is frozen in place for a moment, viewing its mask it is clearly cracked, a gaping hole going through the center of its face. Blood oozes from its mouth and eyes before it keels over onto its side, dissipating into Reishi. The shooter is none other than Victoria, who is holding the pistol with both hands, trembling in utter fear. She rips the seat belt off and uses Bring Light to flee the scene, not thinking clearly. The use of Bringer Light pings her on every Hollow’s internal radar, their Reikaku and they begin heading her way only to lose her trail shortly after as she hides in the darkness of an alleyway. She stares at the sky then towards the street as the Hollows flood through, causing carnage and chaos as she sweats profusely with terror and fear.

”Where the fuck are those Samurai at, man!? Shit, shit, shit! They know I’m somewhere around here! What do I do!? Fuck man! I should have gone back to the States like I said I was going to do!”

She speaks in a panicked, hushed, whisper as she holds her head, still trembling without end.

Hollow screams could be heard throughout the city, though one was silenced by the roaring sound of a gun being fired. A signature that was not Shinigami had caught their attention—it had happened at the same moment that one of their brethren had died. The sound of several heavy footsteps could be heard before finally reaching the destroyed limo.

“Where is it! find it!!!”

A Hollow, more in the shape of a humanoid giant, began to sniff around the broken limo. Another Hollow turned towards the segunda’s direction as it felt the power of that cero unleashed. Its power made the Hollow’s eyes widen, and its hand trembled. Several others searched through the streets, flipping over cars but only finding pavement, while another burst through a building in hopes of locating their target.

“It must human! I smell no Shinigami here!”

The giant spoke as it sniffed the remains of the limo. Its eyes widened as it turned towards an alleyway. Lowering its head to the pavement, each step shook the very ground itself as it followed an unknown path. With each step, its nose could be heard inhaling the air around it.

“That smell… that smell of sulfur and metal”

The Hollow lifted its head high, turning toward the source of the scent. It stopped at a dark alleyway, where its yellow eyes glowed, its mask shrouded in shadows—until the red glow of a Cero began to illuminate the mouth of its mask. The shadows danced and shifted as the energy gathered, then in a single moment, it was unleashed. The Cero soared through the alleyway, lighting it up and exposing the woman hiding in the darkness. The force of the blast shattered the surrounding walls, sending small bits of cement and bricks falling toward her.
The giant shrieked, and then a new sound echoed—rumbling, followed by distant screams. Each second made the noise grow louder and louder, until, at the other end of the alley, another Hollow came charging forward on all fours. The giant moved as well, each of its steps shaking the area around it. Yet the sounds didn’t stop there—the woman could hear something rumbling in front of her. She didn’t have to wait long. A Hollow suddenly burst through the wall, sending more debris flying as its arms extended outward, aiming to tackle her through the wall behind her.

“DON’T KILL HER BRING HER ALIVE THE ESPADA WANT HER!”

iIcxafE.png

Emillia had her foot still resting upon the parapet of the skyscraper, watching the actions below. That smirk never really left her face as she observed cars being lifted before being crushed. The sound of buildings crumbling echoed through the city, while the skyscraper she stood on only echoed faintly, the sound of steel bending ever so slightly. She could swear she had felt it shift but was unsure what they did to make these buildings so durable.

Her head tilted a bit as she looked down at the Segunda.

“Of all people to come here, it would be him. Thankfully, he’s already making a scene, and this should cause the attention to be diverted to him and off of me. After all, why would they be looking for a lowly Hollow?”

Her hand lifted up and waved back and forth for a moment as her reiatsu was pressed and pushed down to the point where she appeared to be a lowly Hollow. She had done so even before breaking through to here.

“What gift did you get, Segunda? Is it the reason why you’re so powerful?”

"Canceled?!”

Yellow eyes leered angrily at a message that had recently been sent to her phone. Much to her dismay, it came from her manager letting her know that her appearance as well as the meet and greet that had been arranged for her fans had in fact been revoked and with no viable explanation at that alongside the sincerest apologies of the Remeltindtdrinc administration. She stood up from her desk that was currently adorned with her collection of monitors, microphones and various other necessities for streaming her content online. It was all priceless and pristinely fine tuned equipment and at that moment everything was online.

Haruka had been in the middle of a session and now that she took a moment to examine the things that were being said in the chat, her anxiety continued to rise. It seems that they’d found out about the cancellation of the event through social media and were freaking about the amounts of money they’d paid to reserve their spots in her audience. She was fully taken aback as no other venue had dared to do this to her, considering how prevalent she was amongst the community both on and offline. To put it gently, it was corporate suicide and she was having a terrible time trying to wrap her head around the club’s abrupt decision to deprive their customers of her exceptional presence. Her followers felt the same and she could tell by the way the chat was speeding along, with words appearing and disappearing so quickly that she wasn't even able to keep up with them. At the moment, she was dressed in her alter-ego’s ravishing red clothing and as the star of her critically acclaimed show, the provocative character known as ‘The Charm.’

"Uh-...okay, ghoulies! Looks like there’s some kind of issue happening with the event tonight and sadly it’s been canceled. I’ll do my best to get to the bottom of this for you but in the meantime..”

Damage control mode was a go, The woman grinning into the little red light at the top of the camera attached to her computer was actually rather used to the pressures of an influencer. Things went wrong, it just happened and there was often nothing anyone could do about it but that’s where the skill of a proper performer came in.

“The show must go on! I’ve got some time to spare now, so who’s ready for some—”

BBZT.

“No. Nononononono.”

Once the cameras were off, Haruka’s confident exterior melted into a frenzy of panic. She struggled with her cords, her fuse box and any else she could think of that could be the reason for losing power. When she was unable to determine the cause, she groaned and sat back down on her chair, defeated. This deperessing sentiment was challenged by a gentle white tail caressing her leg, it belonged to a stunningly beautiful cat with sapphire eyes that gazed up at her and encouraged her to feel better.

“Mrrow.~”

"Uuuuughh…Today is NOT my day. It’s fine. It’s okay. Accidents happen, streams drop. Chill out, Haruka.”

In protest, she crossed her arms with a grumpy huff and sat there in the dark. What was she going to do now?! The funds she’d need to return were going to be astronomical, her fans were going to be furious she just disappeared like that and she was sure this was going to bite her in the ass one way or another later. Just when she was beginning to curse the owner of the club and decide how she would address her crimes against Haruka, everything changed. Suddenly, Snowball let out a ghastly hiss that would have frightened her owner if something else hadn’t.

All sense of her perception crumbled and spiraled out of control with such force that it knocked her out of her chair, and to the ground. She coughed and gagged, unable to catch her breath due to the incredible spiritual weight bearing down on her. What was happening!? What was going on, was she having some kind of heart attack or asthma attack?! None of that made sense, she ate a very particular diet to ensure her health and had never had asthma in her life. Although she did not want to admit it, she turned to the ‘other’ possibility that the assault on her was not of this realm, not man made. Terror of the unknown started to creep into her heart but intensified when the familiar tortured bellows of the undead legion finally reached her ears.

“Monsters?”

It was a significant struggle, but she managed to force herself to breathe again and worked against the increasing gravity to scramble to the window to look outside at the green hell on earth. At once, her heart sank. She watched on as tens of hundreds of Adjucha swarmed the streets ripping apart anything and anyone they could get their claws into. Her jaw began to tremble. Haruka was more than aware of the existence of Hollows and had on more than one occasion been able to escape from a few and in some cases wound them or kill them but never the sheer amount that was there now. When it came to Hollows, Haruka mostly relied on the control she had over her own spiritual power, mainly suppressing it so that she was not noticed by them and naturally, this is what she did now.

“There’s so many of them…”

Out. She needed to get out! Haruka leapt into action and rushed to gather her purse and her cat and once she was prepared she turned back to look outside of the window again so that she could form some idea of an escape route but she stopped dead in her tracks before she could ascertain anything. Her arms lifted to protect herself and Snowball from the combustion of glass sent their way, the building shrieked and quaked as it began to collapse and she fell to the ground. As if in slow motion, she stared in horror as the shape of an adjucha crashed through it and into the room with her. It was an ogrish amalgamation of skeletal animal parts, a frenzied hulking demon and it was honed in on her. Why?! She’d suppressed her power so she shouldn’t have been targeted, so she had to dismiss it as a nasty coincidence born from her unnaturally bad luck which was so routinely awful that she’d learned to keep her composure in most damning situations.

“Hang on tight, Snowball!”

The creature roared at her and charged, leaping through the air causing Haruka to fly into action by activating her bringer light which sent her diving and sliding under the miniscule amount of space between the hollow and the ground. She was millimeters from the lashing of its claws or the snap of its maw and while she was below, her mouth opened but this time the sound that came out was far more influential than it had been before.

“Simon Says, the floor grew fangs of steel! It opened up and swallowed you whole!”

She skidded to the right, and leapt out the window that it had come in. Behind her, the beast floundered about and lunged to catch her once more however, underneath its body and while it was suspended in mid air, the wooden planks currently shifting due to the building losing its foundation opened wide. Empowered by Haruka’s fullbring, it opened far wider than the size of the Hollow, dwarfing it in comparison and twisted unnaturally into a pair of jaws with its fangs being the planks themselves that had sharpened to a point. Wires and pipes belonging to the building’s infrastructure exploded from the hole to restrain the monster, constrict it and drag it into the jaw’s brutal shut. Mere wood surely would have done nothing to the Hollow but enhanced and altered by the fullbringer’s ability, this wood possessed the integrity of steel and pierced through the Hollow with ease, ending it instantly.

Soaring through the air, two stories above the ground, the costumed Haruka used her bringer light once more to stop herself from falling and dashed upon the air higher into the sky and behind the remains of a billboard that was still erect. There, she fixated on suppressing her signature in hopes of getting a better uninterrupted view of the situation.but it became very clear very quickly that things were far worse than she had thought, only able to see what she could through a small window before.

Death and carnage surrounded her on all sides, Hollowkind had laid waste to the people. Her home that she cherished, that she loved so much, was on fire and no matter where she looked she could only see devastation. She could not see that the moon had taken on a creepy hue which had bathed everything in a shade of green that caused colors to change and generated an unnerving sensation. Snowball, perched on her shoulder, uttered a sorrowful sound likely in response to such a sight for the animal had known nothing but peace and pampering its entire life. It knew the city to be safe, and quiet besides the occasional incident now and again but never anything close to what she was witnessing that day.

Haruka’s mind was racing, innately trying to figure out what her best course of action would be to ensure her own survival when she heard the telltale shot of a firearm. This caught her attention and it also seemed to catch the attention of the Hollows and other ungodly creatures in the vicinity, for she watched on as a woman dressed in brown escaped from a vehicular crash and fled for her life down an alleyway not far from where she was hiding.

“DON’T KILL HER BRING HER ALIVE THE ESPADA WANT HER!”

What pursued her was unlike any Hollow she’d seen, it seemed more intelligent just by being able to speak unlike the usual rabble that attempted to savage Eiko in the past. However, more concerning, it appeared that they were not just there to cause mayhem but to get their hands on this person. She was too high up to be able to recognize Victoria as anyone she may have known and some of her was thankful that she’d become a distraction for Haruka to get away, after all it sounded like she was the whole reason that the evil spawn were there; all looking for this one woman.

Could it have really been that simple though? The more she pondered it, the more she realized that was a silly conclusion to come to considering the veritable army that they’d arrived as made little sense if they were just going after this single person. It was hard to tell what they wanted, besides blood and gore she thought they had all been mindless killing machines with no clear motive or purpose but hearing one speak and give the others orders flipped all her hypothesis upside down. Misfortune had found this woman and though it was sad that she’d soon lose her life, Haruka was glad that it wasn’t her.

Moving in that moment didn’t seem like the smartest thing to do and so she remained where she was, hidden in the shadows until she could pinpoint a way to escape from the insanity.

Cowering in fear is all she can do at the time, at least moments before her discovery. She was in the process of calming her breathing, trying to get a grip on her own mind so she can think clearly and make a strategic escape out of this doomed city. Her plan originally involved getting to the airport and taking any sort of flying vehicle out of the city, out of Japan altogether, be it helicopter, private jet, or a passenger airline. Before this plan was fully formed in her mind a Hollow would stop and look down the alley she was hiding in, she remained still certain that it wouldn’t see her, but she was wrong, dead wrong. The illumination of red energy forming at its mouth painted a clear picture of how ghastly the monster looked. Her eyes widened so much with fear it seemed like they would fall out of her skull.

Things were made worse when another rumbling sound could be heard at the other end of the alley, it quickly revealed itself to be another Hollow charging on all fours. If she were faint of heart she would have passed out from this alone but the troubles didn’t end as another beast broke through the wall in front of her. Surrounded on all sides with rubble falling down on top of her things look bleak, but despite all this fear something she still moves. Cowering and fearful she may be but she is not without the will to move. The rubble above her head is the easiest thing to move through and using her Bringer Light she darts upward, her arm suddenly clad in a yellow energy that deflected the debris with ease, vanishing from sight as the Cero bulldozes through the other two Hollows before they even realize their target is gone.

Cornered Beast

Launching herself into the air she spots a Cero decimating a large skyscraper, but she then hears the hiss of a gas leak. The explosion in the alley must have triggered it, but slowly, the hiss grew fainter and fainter until it was absent. Victoria stopped her ascent into the air and sood upon it, heart still racing, fear still in her heart but her bodily instincts telling her to stand and fight. Fight or flight being triggered in her mind only results in fighting. Her self preservation is powerful, she will not go down without a fight and she will not be hunted down like a dog. She sees the Hollows gathering below her, observing the scene of the explosion, looking around and scolding the Hollow who fired the Cero. She holds her palm up to look at it with a glint of spiritual energy dancing around the ring on her middle finger.

”Rings of Saturn.”

She raises her hand straight up into the air and with that motion a gigantic hand erupts from the ground below the Hollow’s feet. Those not impaled or cut in half by the spikes of energy jutting from the release of this massive yellow hand were caught in its palm, clinging to it as they are lifted into the air. Victoria clenches her hand and at the same exact time the yellow hand closes, crushing the gathered Hollow in its palm, blood spraying from between its grip and showering down below. This arm mimics everything her actual hands and arms do with no “input lag”, the moment she moves it moves. Now, everything knows where she’s at, but that is fine. She is scared and terrified, but that too is fine. These things are fine because she knows she is strong, she can handle this, she can survive. She raises her fists up, taking the stance of a boxer, her left shoulder facing forward with her left arm raised, the hand protecting her chin.

The wind and air shift around her as she knows the enemy is closing in on her, it is fine, she can handle it. The Reiatsu of these creatures burn her skin like invisible fire, though in a figurative sense, not literal. She hated how it felt to feel their energy, she hated releasing her power to defend herself. It felt like exposing her soul to them everytime she did it, and everytime she would make contact with one of them it felt like her soul was being dirtied. It was and still is horrible, even though her right hand didn’t physically squash those Hollows it still made her right hand feel dirty. Should she survive this night she plans on taking a long scalding hot shower to purify her soul.

="Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms."=

The night sky was such a beautiful sight to behold even among the chaos that was the human world, moreover the chaos that seemed to blossom from the baptism of a hollow attack on the world of the living. This was different however something was amiss as this was no mere hunting party seeking to fill their bellies to maintain the balance of the world as they all knew it. This was a death parade, a well set hook, line and sinker in hopes of drawing out those that policed the world of the living all the same as the few spiritually aware humans that called the place home. The shinigami weren’t slow to dispatch nor were the aforementioned humans who found themselves fighting amongst the rabble within the streets. His form was as cold as death itself even within the presence of chaos. Things were beginning to unfold in Naruki city like never before, perhaps the tenth division was slacking on their duties or maybe even they had been caught with their pants around their ankles. It didn’t matter most humans couldn’t even process the wave of death that was befalling them. Bodies torn limb from limb, buildings reduced to rubble, and yet even their own populace merely swept it under the rug as if it were nothing more than a series of misfortunate events. Even death like this on such a massive scale was reduced to nothing more than gas main explosions and earthquakes. Although it would be much harder for them to cover what was to come. The destruction that befell the city was something that had never been seen even in the current age of man. This was calculated death seen only on battlefields as far as the rest of the world was concerned. Those who stood spiritual aware seemed to be carrying their own weight even if it was with hundreds of pounds tied around their ankles. It was an impressive feat to say the least despite the lethality things like shinigami and hollow alike possessed. It was always impressive just how willing the fervor of human nature refused to yield even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The shinigami were often silent observers however today, much like near two years ago that silence was broken. The pieces had been set, the game had been matched, and most of all things were about to be set in motion that could never be undone. Like a death knell amidst the destruction the first of what would likely never have been the last was approaching.

Senkaimon opened with a violence like never before, the same way hollows ripped the very air open to step into the world of the living to do their hunting the same happened here. Its form sliding open with an otherworld grace baptized in violence itself as the open air of the human world was sucked in for just a moment. The difference in temperature becomes apparent even amongst the eerie night sky as Oyuki steps through his form engulfed in the chilled air. Like a god stepping down from its heavenly pedestal, Oyuki's form descended upon Naruki with a haunting grace, his gaze flitting over its now desecrated form only to set his gaze upon not one but four separate entities. This observation didn’t include the hollows that found themselves scurry amongst the streets for their time was nigh. The first shinigami to arrive on the battlefield that was Naruki city brought something far more devastating than an early death for those muddle will and gluttonous hunger. When he stepped from the senkaimon his form seemed to be shrouded in winter. The very air much like before becoming still, oxygen itself seemingly coming to an unsettling standstill. They were far from the winter months at this point and yet what hollows found themselves scurrying amongst the dismay could find even their bodies crawling to a halt. The very buildings themselves collected frost as he encroached on their space. He wanted the attention, he almost craved it in a way that no one could ever comprehend.

In the eyes of Oyuki Gekka the battlefield was his home; it gave him a sense of worth that no amount of money could ever amount to. His captain often pulled on the reins in order to bring him back to a point of civility and tranquility in order to quell her own unease with violence. The chill of winter caressed the city with an ethereal grace as his reiatsu became more aggressive with every passing heart beat. The hollows that found themselves scattering through out the streets to bring about mayhem would find their violence brought to a chilling pause as if their puppet strings had been pulled tought. Claws in motion had come to a stop, jaws mid bite becoming rigid with frost; something amongst the ambient air demanded their obedience as the shinigami in question graced their presence. His footsteps on the air even demanded the cataclysmic essence of winter unlike any before as even the arctic in the world of the living had no means of competing with the forces this figure commanded.

As for the fullbringers that found themselves commanding a battle in their own right, one in particular could find even as she took up a stance to defend herself that the air had grown cold. The hollows that decorated her position likely to find their motions sluggish to the point of being reminiscent of playing in molasses. What separated this unnerving chill from the cold desert nights of Hueco mundo was that it was indomitable to those of lesser fortitude. His reiatsu, unlike the Date he had previously been in the presence of, brought the unfettered weight of frost itself upon their forms. However this wasn’t enough to freeze them in their tracks by comparison to those in the direct presence of the fifth division's lieutenant. He was sure the two figures who seemed to be so expertly making their presence both known and unknown all the same would take this excursion of power as a dinner bell; a beckoning call for something far more entertaining than simply sitting aside and awaiting for something interesting to happen among the humans they so greedily hunted down in these moments.

In turn despite their being two arrancar present Oyuki would make his presence more openly available to the figure who found himself eagerly grasping at the moon in folly only moments ago was now faced to face with the haunting presence of winter itself. Oyuki’s image wasn’t a slow descent in these fleeting moments but a sudden blur gone just as quickly as it emerged from the senkaimon. The aforementioned of which had long since shut upon his arrival. It was likely that the figure that stood before him would find that even the hollows he had so eloquently sent into the shadows could not truly escape the chilling essence he brought about the world of the living. When Oyuki’s image emerged before Grimaldi he could find that even the ruined earth beneath Oyuki’s feet had come to be covered in what could only be described as snowflakes. Had this shinigami come to the world of the living in earnest to change the very weather or was something more afoot. His cerulean eyes flitted to Grimaldi with a sense of sadness about them. As for the young woman who found herself only moments away observing what was about to unfold she could find the same biting chill of winter gracing her presence even if she braced herself with her own reiatsu even the building she was standing upon would be touched by winter itself being coated in a layer of ice much like rest of this section of the city. Oyuki himself had altered the landscape just the same as their mutts had done in hopes of collecting souls.

One could only look upon Oyuki’s haunting form and assume he was in mourning. Was it for himself? The humans who had come to an early grave? Or perhaps even the Arrancar who found themselves coming to the world of the living to leave a stain on its people? It didn’t matter they were now face to face with a blade that once unsheathed couldn’t return to its home without conquering the very thing it had come to slay. Now amidst it all the three that rested within the heart of Naruki city could find themselves face to face with something very few had survived. Unfortunately for them, if Oyuki had anything to say about the matter they wouldn’t be making it home to their forlorn sand castle within Hueco Mundo. The tides of battle were about to shift, turning this parade of death into the procession of a demon. Oyuki now stood before Grimaldi blade drawn its icy essence chilling the air. Oyuki’s lips parted and the worlds that escaped were filled with fervor, the steam escaping his maw a clear sign that something had shifted among their congregation.

“Before us is the fruit of war, battle… Show me what you have to offer, boy..."

A hand had descended upon the group that tried to capture the woman alive. In that moment, all three of them were squished, their blood splattering all over the ground. Though, in that same moment, she had announced to everyone that she was there. More screams could be heard as the sound of footsteps rumbled through the city. Though it wasn’t towards her—it was towards the new threat that had entered the city, as it grew colder and colder by the second.

Shards of glass rained down onto both the streets below and the office rooms, accompanied by a deep crunching sound as claws rapidly sank into the concrete walls. The hollows swarmed upwards, their screams growing louder and louder as more of them began to climb—until their movements grew sluggish. Each claw that moved up had frost build upon its limbs, creeping across their bodies until they were finally locked in place. Their roars had been reduced to meek growling.

“Found you, little human! I’VE COME TO BRING YOU TO THE ESPADA!”

The sound of a dull, heavy boom echoed just to the left of Victoria, yet what she saw was only a blur, followed up by a flare of hollow reiatsu—one that dwarfed the others. This hollow was aiming to pierce through the woman’s stomach.

What could be seen was a small hollow, smaller than the rest of its kind. Blades extended from its forearms, each the width of its limbs. Its body was more human in nature—yet not—as its muscles bulged to the size of watermelons, and its frame appeared slightly elongated. Its skin was a sickly green, while the mask it wore covered its entire head, eyeholes glowing a menacing crimson red. The unmistakable glow of a cero build-up could be seen gathering at the mouth of the mask.

Meanwhile, the other one—Haruka Eikō—had gotten away, yet her use of Lightbringer had left a trail for this hollow to track her down. Her reiatsu was different from the surrounding area, something strange to this hollow. It was neither Arrancar, Shinigami, nor Hollow, though similar in nature—uncanny, but not the same. However, the trail soon grew cold, and it could no longer locate the woman’s reiatsu.

Instead, it moved higher, flying above the city, one eye scanning the streets below. That was until it caught sight of another aduchja moving toward a woman mid-air. Its eyes widened as it turned, swiftly landing atop a skyscraper before bowing its head to the figure known as Emillia.

Her head turned towards a reiatsu signature that she had not felt in a long time, her eyes narrowing for a moment before widening as her body shifted toward the direction of the Shinigami.

“The last time I felt that… was a little over two years ago. So you finally left Hueco Mundo?”

Both her arms crossed as her body turned fully toward the reiatsu that was nearing her. Once the bird Hollow landed, it gave a bow and lowered its head.

“Cuarta, I bring news of a potential target. One of our Adjucha has decided to engage with it. You can sense its power rising, can you not? That human is strange—it’s nothing.”

“Of course I can, and if this thing is what we’re after, be on standby to give the order to some Gillians to activate their Negación. We’ll bring it back to Las Noches so she won’t escape our grasp. No need for the Shinigami to interfere.”

A nod came from the bird as Emillia’s body disappeared, her hands gripping tightly onto her zanpakutō. Each step brought her closer and closer, weaving between large groups of Hollows, with the occasional appearance to slice off a Shinigami head as she moved through the war-torn city of Naruki. Each step was a careful calculation on her part.

With her last step, she appeared above the Hollow that had leapt at the human.

The axe portion of her zanpakutō came down upon the Hollow’s head, slicing clean through it before its body began to dissolve into dust. Her body shifted to the side as her hand extended toward the human.

“You’re a strange one.”

Emillia’s two-toned eyes studied the silver-haired woman, her head tilting slightly, eyes narrowing for a moment.

“You’re human, yet at the same time… not human. Though that doesn’t matter now. All that matters is that we have to get you out of here. I can take you to the Soul Society if you wish. After all this is said and done, we Shinigami can return you back here… Oh, I am Captain Erina Hoshi of the Tenth Division. If you’re wondering about my outfit, Captains have more freedom when it comes to their own.”

The bone-white mask pressed against her skin, its edges unmoving as her two-toned eyes locked onto the human. One hand remained open toward the woman, while the other curled its fingers, absently rubbing against her zanpakutō. The axe portion of her weapon twisted and turned in her grasp, all the while her gaze remained fixed on the woman, searching for any glimpse of distrust. At the same time, Emillia kept her reiatsu pressure suppressed, ensuring that no trace of her Hollow nature leaked out.
