Ten months ago Kuwashhii was on a routine visit to the Seireitei to drop off her reports on the happenings of Naruki City. This routine visit was thrown astray when the fight between Otokogi and Densagi erupted and almost swept up the entire Seireitei into their battle. In her attempts to rush to Twelfth Division to tell them about the Kumon that were appearing in Naruki she was rendered unconscious due to Densagi’s lightning strikes. She is one of the lucky ones as she was able to escape with her life whereas others died in the chaos. When she regained consciousness she received devastating news, the long standing, beloved, teacher of the Gotei 13 had lost his battle against Densagi. She was consumed by wrath and fury towards Densagi, someone she could never hope to beat. His imprisonment in the Muken was not a good enough punishment, in her eyes, she wanted him dead.
However she was able to recognize her own weaknesses due to that horrific event, though she would not admit it outloud, pride before the fall. Because of this she had to seek out teachings from other teachers, namely those within the Tenth Division itself. Because of her hard headed and prideful nature it was hard for those she worked with to find out how to help her grow and develop. Finally someone within the Tenth Division was able to help her, in a very simple way. They told her to recite a mantra to help develop focus, perseverance, and clarity. They explained that as she is she won't be able to develop any more strength if her mind is always scattered and can’t prioritize her actions and thoughts. So weeks were spent trying to find the right mantra for her to recite aloud or mentally.
Buddhist mantras were the first to be introduced to her but she constantly turned them down as they “don’t mean anything”, to her at least. Then the concept of creating a new mantra was introduced and progress was finally being made. Almost as if it were a commission of some kind, she allowed her teacher to create one for her and would check in with him when she would return from Naruki City. Finally, after agonizing for nearly two months the perfect mantra was created for her.
The body,
The mind,
The target,
The shape,
The breath,
The hand,
The weapon,
The weight.
The silence,
The sound,
The tide,
The wake,
The sword,
The spirit,
The soul,
Ablaze.
Now, in the present day Kuwashii has been reciting this to herself for nearly two weeks now, mentally or out loud when she is alone. Although she can’t tell it has been working since she is not as quick to jump the gun on things anymore. The length of this mantra gives her time to pause and analyze a situation before flying into it, sword blazing.
Currently she is sitting outside of a Cafe shop, still in her Gigai, drinking a coffee. She doesn’t need caffeine, she is just drinking it because it tastes good. In the midst of her leisure her Denreishiki chimes. Pulling it out of her pocket she glances at the message lazily, assuming it was someone from the high school she “attends” trying to contact her, but once she realizes it's from the Third Seat of her Division she reads it with more focus. Once the message was read she stood up, bumping the table and knocking over her coffee. It was as if any sort of human civility had been thrown away in favor of her true Shinigami self who wouldn’t care about how such sudden actions would make her look in the public eye. Popping what appears to be a candy into her mouth she separates from her Gigai, which she orders to return to home.
Flickering away from the Cafe with her Shunpo usage she begins racing across the sky, moving to the meeting spot. Once there she would meet with Third Seat Jushiro Izanagi. She bows to him and due to her excitement to be working with a Third Seat she shouts her greeting. It seems like meeting someone who is basically a celebrity within the Gotei 13 has deteriorated all of her mantra training.
”Izanagi-san! It is a pleasure to be working with you! I am grateful and appreciative of the support you’re bringing!!”
She doesn’t rise from her bow and is basically shouting downward towards the ground below. Thankfully, due to her shouting, Jushiro would still be able to hear her loud and clear despite the direction of the shouting.
