The sea wench sat silently amongst her peers, her eyes glued to her own pile of snacks. The realization that she hadn't announced her arrival set in, but why would she have to when she’d made it there before Adonai. Cold glass pressed into her fingers as she slowly turned the pendant nestled at the base of her throat. So many words had been said around her but much of it had gone in one ear and out the other.

”Next, Ryker’s excursion to Hueco Mundo revealed that the Shinigami have a vested interest in certain Arrancar there.”

Her unfocused gaze suddenly shifted, peering at the doctor over her snacks, her pupils dilating violently until the vivid teal of her eyes was nearly consumed. Emi? She had no reason to think he would have been there hunting for Emillia, but she couldn’t help but wonder if he’d come in contact with her. If he had encountered her, what had he done to her? Was she even still alive? Her thoughts swirled, coalescing into an image of her heart's singular obsession, Emillia.

The soft ting of her nails against the pendant grounded her, if only a little. A buttery soft pastry met her lips as her free hand moved on its own accord. She did what she so often does and consumed, the flakes melting on her tongue in an explosion of flavors. Though her eyes remained on the doctor as if trying to peek inside his mind, she paid attention now to every word that fell from Adonai’s lips. An exchange program with the shinigami? How… cute.

The phantom murmurs of a voice she would only hear in her memories now crawled across her skin. They would recognize you, cariño. Her eyes darted around herself, hoping for a glimpse of her but there was none. Her grip on the pendant tightened dangerously until she felt the glass fracture. As silence fell around them, her gaze settled on Adonai.

”How will you decide who gets to go with the shinigami? Will it be the Sternritter you trust most or can we volunteer?”

Ryker enthralled by his haul of snacks didn't make any largely notable acknowledgements of the Sternritter who entered, but he did at the least give them each a nod or half handed salute with just a pair of fingers. His focus was honed on refueling and also hanging onto his thoughts on the already developing events. That being said, even if he was more free of hand and mind, he wasn't necessarily that close to the other ranking members. It was not out of any predisposed opinions or a lack of interest in a more in-depth connection, he just simply spent a majority of his time off site. And that time that he did spend within the kingdom was likely spent within the medical sector. His drive to understand the inner workings of the races and his surgical practices took precedence over any familiarities among cohorts.

By the time the varying officers and established figures made their way into the meeting hall, Ryker had already wholly decimated his selection of treats. As he patted away the debris of such a feast from around his mouth, the meeting had begun to move. The Emperor extended grace to those not present but drove the discussion forward even in their absence. He relayed his intentions for an amicable parlay with the commander-in-chief of the Shinigami, a long standing intention finally coming to a head. The idea of a peaceful interaction was certainly more boring than the contrary, but one that Ryker understood. There was no real reason to contest them, they had nothing of true value, and that which could be desire could simply be within the slated negotiations. From every metric seen in recent years, they were by no means an award winning team.

Adonai continued in his exposition, establishing a set of rules to follow, a reference at Josef's findings, and additional words of warning. From there the floor was left open to his trusted numbers. The first utterance came from one of the newer addition to their cause.

"How will you decide who gets to go with the Shinigami? Will it be the Sternritter you trust most, or can we volunteer?"

A valid inquiry. Whoever were to be sent in this exchange, were it to be humored, would need to be of a particular character. Reserved enough not to endanger the agreements in place but also dutiful enough to still have the Wandenreich's best interests at heart. Ryker had no weight in this and simply allowed their leader to engage with that question. The vacancy of words that would come after Cordelia was answered bridged his moment to speak.

"Heard, heard, heard... Peace first and foremost! Honestly, it's more of a service to them than even for us, if I'm being real." He said with a shrug and a goofy ass smirk plastered on his face. "From what I am seeing, our neighbors aren't in the best shape. The desert is just rubble with no one wearing a crown, and the Shinigami are still struggling to figure out how to stay on the same page. Honestly, I think we have a rather strong hand in negotiations."

The surgeon leaned back in his seat, relaxing his posture with an upwards gaze. His fingers flicking about between each other as his hands rested on his stomach.

"But even if that's the case, we can't be caught slacking. I've got some eyes in Hueco Mundo and this liaison would give us some insight on the reaper side of things. But there are still variables, and that shit could get messy quick. Before my detour today, I was on the cusp of developing a way for us to keep some leverage even if we made ourselves known. A drug of sorts that would mask our genetic information from examination after bodily material separates from the body. The issue was—it lacked a stabilizing agent and a way to consistently ensure it scrubbed just right... but I think I know how to fix that up now."

Ryker's eyes scanned the room and then returned to his absent stare at the ceiling.

"Give me a few days and I can get our ranks an anonymity upgrade, as well as comprehensive notes on both Shinigami and Arrancar physiology."

This serum was a breakthrough lacking the cherry on top, something he found the answer to thanks to Emillia. Albeit not a one to one fix, her contribution birthed inspiration. In just a few passing suns, Ryker will have granted the Quincy yet another edge, removing a powerful tool from their opposition - biological examination. No blood, hair, or discarded limb would provide any meaningful data for the minds of the Seireitei to work with. The clarity to the innerworkings of the faction from the shadows will remain enshrouded so long as conflict is averted and lips remained sealed. Afterall, knowledge was the ultimate weapon.

Once the others soon started to arrive to the meeting room, Wolfgang took note of each ones heart beats, the rhythm of their breathing, and the sounds of their foot steps to determine who was arriving before they properly entered. He also took note on the ones who were absent from the meeting as well before settling down into his seat swirling the contents of whine in the cup patiently with the meeting finally about to start. Once Adonai dismissed his notion he smiled big content curious on what this meeting was going to entail and how things would change for them going forward after this day on. He took in the fragrance of the beverage before him a small smile crept on his lips appreciating the fine craftsmanship to make such a high-end drink then focused his full attention sternly on the Emperor.

The meeting seemed to jump straight into the thick of things which Wolfgang didn't mind. Although, there have been small talk about how they would run into the shinigami eventually,
but to think that the official meeting between the leaders would be happening so soon. Shifting forward in his seat he contemplated on what this would mean, and knowing what it was the Emperor hoped to get from them. From there he commented on the discovery of the shinigami weak points of their anatomy listening intently then begin to already formulate ways to fit this perfectly in the training regiment. Knowing now was not the time to add any insights or thoughts Wolfgang simply nodded affirming he understood the Emperor's wishes as he continued to listen on full of intrigue on what other topics were going to be addressed.

This topic in particular seemed to peak more then the others, because the very fact the issue of clashing people of interest would cause problematic concerns in any future incursions the Jagdarmee would be sent on. On the other hand the opposite could be assumed too if the two forces shared a common target they wished to be eliminated their was possibility on the shinigami joining resources for a more successful mission with lower casualty rate. Again, this thinking all depended on how the meeting went between the two leaders and what type of relationship be established with one another. Wolfgang put a little more thought into this thinking of how this world was in dire need of being cleansed and each factions roles in helping bring the world in the true vision of their Sovereign God, The Soul King. This is why those who worshipped the The Soul King under his regimen saw Adonai as more then just their Emperor, being extension to their god making him something akin to an demi-god in their eyes. Soon the meeting came to its conclusion even with the news of exchange opportunity between both sides, but one thing troubled Wolfgang the most that slightly contradicted in his head.

"Your highness, you mentioned you will have our best of interest in mind and that I know holds true. Though I must ask if we come across high priority target or resource that is important for our cause, and small 'misunderstanding' happens between the shinigami, wouldn't us conceding that in turn hinder your personal goals?" He paused to let the Emperor have a chance to properly think on it before asking a minor question. "As far not attacking hollows goes, exempt for self-defense do you wish for us to not assist shinigami who may be engaged with them? And are we not to interfere if we see mundane humans or even spiritually gifted humans being attacked?"

After Wolfgang asked about his inquiries for the future coexistence with the shinigami, he knew that eventually the request of continuing to concede to the shinigami would eventually grate on somes patience eventually. If this was not managed with proper insight could very well lead to conflict in the future. Relaxing into a more casual posture he clasped his fingers together then leaned his chin on it curious what the others had to say, and what wisdom the Emperor would share on answering each one of their concerns and questions.

The last to arrive were the trio of siblings, Josef showing no hint of paying their arrival any mind while Simon's eyes cut towards Fred. Like himself, Fred was a soldier, evident enough by his Schrift, yet to Simon he did not behave as a Soldier, did not embody what it meant to be a soldier. Despite his disapproval of such a man holding such a Schrift he does not question it, for to do so would be to question their Emeperor. The meeting finally begins, much to the glee of both Josef and Simon, but for two different reasons. Josef is thankful, believing they can end this pointless gathering soon while Simon is ever grateful to be under the presence of the Emperor, eager to hear what he has to tell them; and he seems to have much to say.

Simon shows concern at news of this meeting, and hopes their Emperor will not go alone. He does not trust the Shinigami. Especially after hearing first contact was made with hostilities. As the Emperor continues to speak Simon shows himself growing more frustrated hearing a discovery was made by this uncouth man across from him. He stares daggers at Josef who's eyes are half lidded in a dismissive manner, appearing bored and uninterested in what is being said. Being bound to their home while they have endured peace for a time, something he should be thankful for...Simon was in the end, a soldier. With no enemy to fight, no war to win could he be of any use to their leader?

The great emperor begins outlining his plans and his restrictions to their people, much of which went ignored by Josef who had no intention of engaging with others to begin with. With everything being said that needed saying it seemed now was the time for any questions or input on the matters put forth.

”How will you decide who gets to go with the shinigami? Will it be the Sternritter you trust most or can we volunteer?”

"Tch"

Josef sucks his teeth, the woman's stupid question prolonging this meeting further than he would like. Ryker begins rambling on as he does, causing Josef's eyes to narrow even further in annoyance. The more people spoke the more he was forced to sit there, indulging in their stupidity. Every word spoken was a waste of breath and a waste of his precious time.

BAM!

Josef's hands slam against the table as if to silence everyone, his aggravation nearing its peak from yet another pointless question as far as he was concerned.
"Are we done here? Can I-" Before he could finish another nuisance presents itself in the form of Simon raising his hand.

"Sir. You mentioned a meeting with the Commander of the Shinigami. Not to speak out of place but, I hope you don't intend on going to such a meeting alone. While you crave peace, the Shinigami seem ignorant to such a notion."

While others spoke of the exchange, the restrictions placed on them and other matters, what was at the forefront of Simon's mind was their Emperor's safety. He does not question his strength or ability, but rather cannot trust what schemes, tricks and traps the Shinigami might employ. He speaks up hoping their lord had intentions of bringing a guard at least, and further hoping that he would be chosen for such a role. He stares towards the Emperor, seemingly oblivious to the murderous gaze of Josef who is now standing, hands on the table. Was this some game they were all in on? Collaborating together to waste his time and annoy him?!

His fingers begin to curl, dragging along the table before furling into his palm, nails digging into the soft flesh as his hands slightly shook.
"Is. That. ALL?" He does not hide his frustration, each word spoken short and barbed shooting equally sharp glances across the room, his gaze saying the answer had better be "yes".

It wasn’t shocking to hear that there was a peace treaty in the making, while the Elbecks were ready for war, making armor pieces for the army, and preparing clothing as well, they held major contracts for generations. As for what Fred thought about the whole peace situation, he welcomed it but was cautious of the Shinigami. As for the secrets of Shinigami anatomy, he was quick to shift his eyes over to Josef, Wolfgang then Ryker, he was eager to learn of this secret. Allow him to think of how to better dispose of the Shinigami should a war ever come.

as the emperor continued his speech, talking of an exchange program, one that he would wish to not be chosen. Though his eyes shifted over Kristina as her eyes glimmered, no doubt it was the thought of being the one to be sent over there. She was too much of a wild card to be even sent anywhere without strict super vision. Yet still he remained silent for the time being he would remain silent throughout the different people talking

xPqPg1f.png

Her hand rested on her glass of whiskey, each person that talked had her take a small sip, eyes shifting between the ones that spoke, till Josef's hands slammed against the ground. Her head shifted up along with her hand as she drank the last of her whiskey before gently setting the cup down.

"Aside from one of the Shinigami following me, there isn’t much to report, on my end."

Her eyes shifted down to look at the bottle resting by her chair, before shifting her gaze over to Josef, hand raising her empty glass up once more before setting it down.

pRcq0dZ.png

“Ooo, IF we are doing volunteers! I WOULD LOVE TO GO!”

Her voice boomed with excitement as she looked towards Cordelia then towards the Emperor, practically bouncing out of her chair at the thought of entering a new realm, along with meeting new people.

Fred's hand was over his eyes while his head shifted down, while Amanda leaned back in her chair, arms crossed watching the table, for what everyone else will do. Till Fred lifted his head and looked over to the Emperor.

"Your Majesty, where exactly will you be meeting their Captain Commander?"

The logistics of entering the Shinigami realm is what he had a bit of a fear of. They, or at least he, didn’t know much about them, what were their defences like, would this be a trap of some sort? A lot can be done in 10 days. He had hoped it would be a more neutral ground like the World of the Living. Where the Shinigami didn’t exactly have the stronger hand in case something were to happen.

The Emperor listens to the questions and concerns of his Sternritter. This is what he wanted and needed from them. He needed them to find the gaps he may have missed or even information he may need to expand upon. An Emperor he may be but he is not absolute, he does not know everything which is why he has let his knights speak and act with such freedom. He starts from the top, addressing the first of the concerns being which Quincy he will be sending to the Soul Society should the Shinigami accept the cultural exchange program.

”Well, as it stands the majority of you are a bit…”

He looks around at the table at each and every individual face there, all of them with their own unique personality traits and quirks.

”To put it plainly none of you are fit candidates, especially you, Cordelia. Even without your Arrancar traits you’d be noticed and well, sins of the past and all that. The Rangers have already said that the Shinigami are a hostile bunch so the moment you set foot in Soul Society they would attack you.”

When he speaks again his presence as an Emperor returns, although briefly.

”And I will not abide by any violence that would befall any of you. I will do what I must to protect my people. Furthermore I will find a proper candidate among the Sternritter. Someone who can keep a cool head and watch their surroundings. Above all else, this idea is to learn more of one another on a cultural level not to spy or cause subterfuge.”

The next thing to address was Ryker’s thoughts on the matter. He is right, the Quincy are unified unlike the Arrancar and Shinigami. As far as negotiations go the Quincy could certainly strong arm their way into getting what they want, but such a method is not Adonai’s style and would sow discontent towards them that will fester over time. Although Ryker's idea to mask the Quincy genetic make up, should any die in the field, is a good idea.

”Proceed with that plan. Be sure to infuse The Authority within it as well so that their souls return to me. Be forthcoming with the information as well. I do not want my people ingesting a drug unknowingly. I would hope there would be no objection to this from the Sternritter. The last thing I need is Shinigami desecrating our corpses for any purpose.”

Next up is The Zealot, he brings up two good points, points that make Adonai pause and rub his chin, pondering it for a moment.

”Yes, such a thing has already happened with Ryker’s excursion to Hueco Mundo. It keeps coming back to their hostilities as well, two groups will clash due to orders and orders are to be followed when given by higher-ups… This is quite frustrating. We will have to address it on a situation by situation basis and as such if anyone is sent on a mission that may be a conflict of interest I will be on standby to address it personally. By that point I would hope we have a way to contact and communicate with the Soul Society directly.”

He pauses again briefly, the second concern of Wolfgang is much easier to address.

”Run of the mill Hollows should be easy for them to clean up, self defense and looking out for one another take priority there. If a run of the mill Hollow is on a killing spree or causing great damage, take it down, no hesitation. Furthermore we should interfere if ordinary humans and spiritually gifted humans are being attacked. No reason to let innocents die needlessly.”

Josef’s frustration with being idle in a place he does not want to be was not lost on Adonai. The Emperor doesn’t even spare him a glance while pondering the question about going alone to the meeting.

”You are dismissed Josef.”

He looks up and around at the table of those who remain.

”I will go with bodyguards. Be on standby as I may call on you at random the day of. Your identities will be obscured as well via masks, I do not need the Shinigami keeping tabs on you were you to be at that meeting. Assuming their thought process they will flag you as threats and watch your every move while in the living world.”

Then the final question and the most pressing one of all, the location of the meeting. Adonai already had an idea of where he wanted the meeting to be held.

”The Fullbringer we saved from hueco Mundo, Victoria, recommended a hotel tower in Naruki City, specifically the rooftop. She said she will buy out the three floors below the rooftop to ensure no humans randomly wander up there. Not sure how long the rooms will be rented but if it's for the day feel free to enjoy the penthouses. No reason for the rental to go to waste.”

Exhaling and leaning back in his chair Adonai relaxes, tilting his head back and looking to the ceiling.

”I pray that things go well. Should Hueco Mundo ever gain a new sovereign I would like to meet with them as well then act as a bridge for them and the Shinigami to make peace. The balance of souls must be maintained but there is no reason for all of us to be at each other's throats needlessly. BUT! We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. Alright everyone, you are dismissed. I hope I didn’t take up too much of your time.”

Adonai gathered up his snacks in his arms and headed out of the meeting room first. While exiting Valiosa was waiting for him on the other side, hopping up to snatch one of the snacks in his arms. She can be heard asking about going to the Soul Society for the exchange program, she was obviously eavesdropping. Adonai replies with the sternest voice anyone has heard from him.

”ABSOLUTELY NOT!”

From Naruki City

Returning to Silbern was not a momentous occasion, he was not met with those who would be waiting with baited breath. His Sternritter were off living their own lives, they knew if something went wrong they would be called upon. He walks through the halls, pulling at his gloves making sure they are snug on his hands. His stride is carrying him towards the Sternritter meeting room, not to call upon all of them but just a select few. Still traveling down the hall he spots Valiosa staring out the window, a rather bored expression on her face until she spots Adonai. Her face lights up and she hops off the sill to follow Adonai like a shadow. Moving from his left side to his right then back to his left she continuously looks up at him with a taunting grin on her face.

”So…How’d it go? Were they ready to start a fight?”

He doesn’t answer for a moment, his mind is elsewhere, mainly on the shared communication system the two factions are set to share and to a greater extent the Shinigami visitor they will have in Wandenreich. Valiosa’s taunting grin fades to one of an annoyed disappointment as she receives no response.

”Hey, did you hear me?”

"Yeah, yeah, I heard you. The meeting went fine, the Shinigami seem to have an issue with respecting authority and hierarchy. Back talking and underhanded comments left and right. Seems exhausting.”

Her annoyed expression fades as she finally receives a response. She keeps her hands behind her back walking with an almost goosestep stride beside him.

”When I fought them I saw much of the same. They don’t know how to divert leadership, each person grasping to be the next important person and take charge of the situation. It’s as if they were trying to emulate past glories to be the next hero of the Soul Society. Created a lot of disjointed attacks and tactics, granted The Almighty was helping me out quite a bit.”

Adonai listened to her, and what she said was not ignored or disregarded. If anything it serves as a cautionary tale for him moving forward. From Valiosa’s account of facing them in combat and now with his experience facing them in politics they seem to be fundamentally fractured as an organization. He sighs because it's going to be a hassle trying to work with a headless organization.

"It’s going to be a rough road but we’ll handle it as it comes. A sort of, ‘cross that bridge when we get to it’ sort of mentality.”

”Eh… Sounds a bit dangerous, don’tcha think?”

"If I was approaching each bridge blindly then yeah, it sure is. IF we reach a bridge that seems unwell then we will simply not cross it. That aside, I’ll eventually have to tell them about your existence which I suspect they will not take that revelation well."

”They’ll want me dead or imprisoned I assume. Maybe imprisoned then dead.”

He looks at her, her usual jovial nature is gone, replaced by someone actually reflecting on the gravity of the situation. It is rare to see Valiosa with a serious expression these days, she lives a rather carefree life among the Quincy. With the current conversation shifting to her deeds as an Arrancar she has no choice but to meet it with a serious outlook.

"More than likely and it’ll create a moment of tension between us. They will have to understand that the Arrancar known as Valiosa is dead and only the Quincy Valiosa remains. Same applies to Cordelia.”

Valiosa frowns at Adonai, not an expression she often throws his way if at all.

”That is rather harsh, Adonai. We still have those memories from our former lives. Hundreds of years of memory and emotion don’t just die because we become something else. Given my original and current powerset I think I know that better than anyone.”

Adonai is silent and as they walk past a window he catches a reflection of “himself” leaned against a wall, eyes closed, head down, shaking his head and laughing at him. He adverts his gaze away from the window to look down the hall.

"So you’re saying I should have lobotomized both of you and made you loyal mindless drones? I mean, that can still be arranged.”

Valiosa’s face twitches with concern, a cold sweat breaking out across her face until her hat is smushed down on her head and over her eyes.

”Relax, I don’t mean it. If I wanted that I would have just turned you into Echoes instead.”

Valiosa adjusts her hat back to its prior position.

”Right, as if we aren’t just echoes of our former selves anyway. You probably have the cruelest power across the Three Worlds honestly.”

This conversation is giving Adonai a bit of a new perspective on how he uses his power and who he uses it on. Valiosa is obviously being rather vocal about all this because of the death of her brother. She still felt impacted by his death even if they are of two different races now. As they approach the meeting room he now realizes he has something else to consider moving forward, mostly regarding his own ability, The Authority. He can feel his other self laughing at him for even considering the mental state of those he should consider nothing more than soldiers and pawns. He lifts his right arm and his cross dangles out of his sleeve.

”Rangers, meet me in the Sternritter meeting room. Cordelia, I will require your presence as well.”

Valiosa is shocked to hear that he is summoning Cordelia as well. The Rangers were expected but to call in the only other former Arrancar in Lichtreich feels odd considering the conversation they just had. What exactly is Adonai planning on discussing with them?

Cordelia was never one for being around others. The solitude suited her just fine. But even now, sitting atop a wall, staring out at the cold unyielding cage of a palace that had taken the place of the previous one in her life, the loneliness solidified deep in her soul. Soul… Did she even still have one? She supposed she must. However, being so fundamentally changed didn’t sit right with her, not even after all of these years.

Splayed fingers reached out toward nothing in particular as the hair filled pendant swayed from her wrist. Tourmaline eyes shifted from the distance to the soft pink locks curled up within glass. An unwelcome tingle blossomed from her nose and spread outward as she pulled the trinket close to her chest. She’d always assumed it would be Emillia’s betrayal that would be her end, but these emotions were slowly crushing her like the depths of the oceans within her.

"Fool.”

Cordelia’s wallowing was short lived though as the request for her presence came through. Her head cocked to the side. It was a curious thing that he would want to see her. She wasn’t likely to be assigned to the soul society and she knew of nothing else going on so what else could he possibly need from her? Her mind raced as she rose from her perch and the wind whipped her hair as she stepped off the wall.

Though her appearance within the halls of Silbern was silent, her heels against the floor with each subsequent step were not. As she entered the meeting room, her gaze flickered momentarily to Valiosa before settling upon Adonai. She stood tall before him, well, as tall as one of her minute stature could, shoulders back and head held high.

The presence of Valiosa felt pointed. Perhaps he wanted more insight on the Shinigami from the two quincy who had invaded the soul society? Surely he had obtained enough without her input by now. The uncertainty began to writhe in her gut but she forced it down and clasped her hands together behind her back. Fingertips smoothed against the glass of the pendant now bound to her wrist. A habit she had acquired in the past couple of years. It was practically second nature now. A grounding act of self soothing.

"You requested to see me?”

Valiosa looks over towards Cordelia as she enters the room, she wears no real expression on her face. The history between the two of them is brief, more akin to that of a manager and employee at best. That being said not even Valiosa understands why he called her here, maybe he plans on lobotomizing them as he so haphazardly joked about minutes earlier. Before any of them could ask the sound of a set of quintuple footsteps begin nearing the door, they are all out of sync but the sound of it is familiar. There is only one set of Quincy in Lichtreich who are known to march together: The Rangers.

cf8a48ea1beb35beebe0b7bd6e0010cd.png

”Yo, Boss, you called for us?”

Pink walks ahead, taking a seat as she finds no reason to continue standing. Red leans against the back of the seat while Yellow leans against the wall beside the door they came in. Only Green and Blue remain standing, Green is holding something wrapped in white cloth. Given its dimensions it is most obviously a sword but who does it belong to? Blue keeps his hands on his hips, a sort of heroic pose almost. The purpose of Valiosa and Cordelia being in this room may feel awkward, why else would Adonai call in his vanguard? Adonai reclines in his seat and begins this impromptu meeting.

"Well to get things underway we’ll be having a Shinigami visiting us for a while, that part of the meeting went well. It’ll be Seimei Ukitake.”

Yellow lets out a disgruntled “Tsk” while Pink huffs with frustration.

"I’m expecting you to get along with him despite past grievances. That said, you’ll be in charge of giving him a tour of Wandenreich and instructing him on the dangers of Freiewelt. I do not want to interfere with the freedoms of any Quincy but they are opportunists and will take the chance of attacking him and keeping him hostage. I do not doubt Mr. Ukitake’s strength but one vs many does not seem like a situation he can win.”

”So are we playing babysitter and bodyguard?”

"Not really, just for the first few days until he is familiarized with the place. From there he will more than likely want to test your strength and gauge what Quincy combat is like. I’ll leave it to you five to decide who trains with him.”

”Roger that Boss.”

Adonai then turns his attention to Cordelia and Valiosa.

"Cordelia, this one here-” He flicks Valiosa’s hat making it shift to the back of her head, exposing her forehead which shines comedically for a moment. She quickly adjusts her cap and swipes at Adonai who avoids it. "- brought to my attention that my power is rather cruel, the converting aspect of it that is. She states that I’ve basically just made you both echoes of your former selves. An understandable notion.”

The rangers sit in silence, observing the conversation.

"You were close with the Sinner Emila, yes? I came to an agreement with the Shinigami to capture her alive instead of killing her. They’ll let me extract the spine of my father from her and then I’ll hand her over to them.”

A brief moment of silence before he continues.

"However, they do not know how long that process takes. Days, maybe even weeks. For the record the process is instant. That being said, once captured I will allow you time to be with her until we decide enough time has passed to turn her in. My power may be cruel but I hope everyone understands I myself am not. Valiosa.”

She had just finished fixing her bangs and hat to hide her forehead she seemed to be self-conscious about when he called to her. She looks at him with a piercing frown.

"The Rangers documented your brother’s final words. He wished to see you again. Up to this point I never knew Hollows could express such emotions, for that I apologize. The Rangers seized his Zanpakuto, nothing more than a blade at this point but it’s at least something.”

Green unfurls the cloth and presents the sheathed Zanpakuto, Gorgona (ゴルゴン; Gorgon), that once belonged to Antonio. She takes it and just sets it on her lap looking at it.

"Admitidly I converted you, Cordelia, as a scare tactic that day to frighten other Arrancar to show that they are not safe from me. Valiosa, your conversion was done because I needed a host for the Eyes of my father. When I am in a wrathful state I do not make the best decisions concerning the emotional state of others. I seek to impose, terrify, and if need be slaughter those who invoke my wrath.”

He stands up, the chair scraping behind him as it is moved.

"I will not be converting Emilia, she has evaded us for far too long and has continued using or keeping my fathers Spine. I can set aside my own fury long enough for you to put to rest any lingering interactions you need to have with her, Cordelia. That is as far as I can extend my mercy regarding this matter. I do not know what will happen when she is finally in the hands of the Shinigami. Knowing them, it’ll be an execution.”

He begins walking towards the door, the Rangers making their move to follow him out as they have no reason to linger in the room any longer.

"You’ll be notified when we have her, it’ll take some time to track and properly plan out her capture. Ryker is assigned to the task so it shouldn’t take long. Doctors tend to be very efficient at what they do.”

With that he and the Rangers leave the room, leaving a silent Valiosa and Cordelia alone in the room together. Valiosa just keeps staring at her brother’s Zanpakuto, it is unknown if she is reminiscing or if any thoughts or going through her head at all.
