Keniro Senko

A sly smile crossed the young Keniro’s face as he was overly excited but didn’t want to express it, he knew his brother wasn’t the type to waste his time but still he believed it was hard for Kagi to resist his brotherly charm. As they were being escorted to the train’s simulator and on the way out, couldn’t help but notice Michiya entering the room next, what an eventful day he thought to himself. He gestured politely offering his nephew a kind and generous smile while holding up the peace sign on one hand.

Yo!” He shouted to him on his way letting him know that he acknowledges his presence, after all he was well aware of his arrival as it was nearly as dramatic as his own; no one was a match for Keniro’s theatrics. He believed if the door opened and there was a chance he could ever become a professional actor he’d have the world in the palm of his hands, as he proceeds to daydream, fantasizing about the life of a man who has become the world’s greatest actor of all time. In his head he pictured himself in different scenarios where he was famous and surrounded by flashing cameras while on the red carpet, he even pictured himself bathing in money while wearing nothing but gold rimmed aviator shades with a huge grin on his face.

Meanwhile in reality he rubbed his hands together as he followed his brother's escort, as his attention was elsewhere he paid no mind to the message Michiya received; Keniro was too lost in his own imagination to do any eavesdropping. Sometimes he can become so deep in thought that it’s like reality disappears from around him and into his mind, as his thoughts become more intense as he becomes more excited of the world he is dreaming about to the point it is and always a guaranteed self
distraction.

By the time he was done with pondering he’d come to realize they they’ve almost made it to the training simulator room, he had wondered what type of training they were going to do given the circumstances he figured it would be a joint training with Ren here, hoping she could keep up was all he wanted anything would be a disappointment, a burden to shoulder, but had she proved herself worthy he’d more than happy to acknowledge her strength. Suddenly and strikingly he’d turn his full attention to her out of the blue.

Yo, the name’s Ren right? What’s up with that?

He asked her, referring to his brother's attitude towards him being blunt, his demeanor changed and to Keniro it wasn’t for the better. However he would refrain from having too strong of an opinion as he assumed something must have happened to make him act this way, had Ren understood what he meant even with what little details he asked about the question he would forever remember her face and consider her a genuine friend.

Ren had seen some weird shit in her time, but today was starting to take the damn cake.

One second, Kagi was all but promising to cut down his own brother. And then-

Then the air shifted.

It wasn’t Kagi this time. It wasn’t Keniro either.

No, this reiatsu was someone else. Her golden eye flicked toward the source just in time to see a younger man being led inside. He looked composed, purposeful, carrying himself with the kind of confidence that didn’t need to be spoken aloud.

So that’s who it was?

She didn’t know much about him, but the way Kagi reacted told her enough. There was history here.

Before she could get a read on things, Michiya’s watch flared to life, casting a cold, sterile light across the room. A holographic display flickered into existence, feeding urgent data into the space between them.

Ren’s smirk faltered just slightly as she caught sight of the words.

Large-scale Hollow activity detected. Naruki City. Karakura Town.

Predicted casualty rates—

She didn’t need to read further to know it was bad.

The tension in the room was already thick, but now? Now it was suffocating.

And then, like a brick through a window—

“Yo!”

Ren turned just in time to see Keniro throwing up a peace sign toward Michiya, grinning like he was completely unbothered by the weight of the situation.

She blinked. Is this guy for real?

Kagi’s reaction to his younger brother made a lot more sense now.

Keniro, on the other hand, didn’t seem to notice—or care. He was already getting lost in his own world, practically drifting into some ridiculous fantasy. Ren could see the moment he checked out, the way his expression slackened just slightly, like he was mentally off in some theatrical daydream.

Meanwhile, she was still standing there, arms crossed, watching all this unfold like the world’s most chaotic play.

What the hell had she signed herself up for?

Before she could even fully process it, Kagi’s voice cut through the air again.

“Escort both Ren and Keniro to the simulation room in our barracks. I will be there shortly.”

Great. So now she was being dragged even further into this mess.

Ren sighed dramatically as the masked shinigami tightened Keniro’s bindings and gestured for them to follow. The three of them moved through corridor after corridor, deeper and deeper underground. This time, Ren felt it—the weight of something pressing down the further they went. Not just the depth of the space, but the energy of the place itself.

It was unsettling.

By the time they reached the end of the long descent, a dim glow flickered ahead. A single lantern cast weak light into an otherwise empty room.

“Here. You may relax for a second.”

The masked shinigami’s voice broke the silence as he turned to Keniro.

“And you—do not leave this area. I will be close by to make sure you do not do anything you aren’t welcome to.”

Ren snorted, shoving her hands in her pockets as she glanced around the barren space. “Yeah, I’m really gettin’ a ‘relaxing’ vibe from this place,” she muttered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You guys always do your bonding time in a glorified dungeon, or is this just a special occasion?”

She expected Keniro to have some sort of theatrical response, but instead, he turned his attention to her fully, a sharp glint in his eye.

“Yo, the name’s Ren, right? What’s up with that?”

Ren raised a brow. “What’s up with what?”

Keniro gestured vaguely, clearly referencing Kagi’s wonderful attitude toward him.

Ren let out a slow hum, tilting her head slightly. “Oh, you mean the whole ‘I’ll kill you without hesitation’ thing?” She shrugged, her smirk sharp and knowing. “Yeah, I don’t think that’s new, kid.”

She leaned in slightly, her golden eye gleaming. “Far as I can tell, your brother doesn’t do the whole ‘sentimental family reunion’ thing. You ask me? Looks like he thinks you’re just another soldier. And considering the way he tests people…” She trailed off, letting Keniro fill in the blanks himself.

Because Kagi didn’t train people. He broke them down, stripped away the parts he found weak, and left only what was strong enough to survive. If Keniro thought blood alone was going to get him through this, he was in for a hell of a wake-up call.

She studied him, her grin never fading. “You gonna be able to handle that, or are you just here for the theatrics?”

Because that’s what it felt like. He was serious about getting stronger, sure—but Ren had spent her whole life playing the reckless wildcard. She knew an act when she saw one.

And if Keniro couldn’t drop the performance when it mattered?

Kagi would tear him apart.

Michiya was escorted inside, though it tickled Kagi that his son went through so much precaution to inject himself, seemingly due to knowing the true nature of his Father, the Captain. He does not blame him one bit, considering the history between them that is kept stricken from ever reaching the Seireitei; their relation is secret and shall remain so unless someone happens to figure it out or if one of them were to share the nature of their kinship. It wasn't that their relationship needed to be a secret, but those two wanted it this way, and each had their reasons for wanting it.

Kagi watched as Michiya's three-dimensional screen floated in mid-air, allowing himself and the rest to see what it displayed. It stated large-scale hollow readings from Naruki and Karakura. It did not pique Kagi's interest in what was happening in the living world with hollows; the on-goings of that plane were not his job or responsibility to care for. That was the job of the tenth and thirteen divisions.

Keniro has avoided this job long enough, and it was utterly distasteful of him to ignore his responsibility. At this point, Kagi gathered that Keniro became distracted by his thoughts like a mindless child. His behavior has no limits, but after today, that will all change. Nevertheless, the Captain realized a sudden opportunity to take advantage of this moment to study and learn.

Before that could be acted upon, he had to deal with his spawn. First, he doesn't come around often; they see each other only a few times every few years. But for him to show up, it must be something he has and wants in return. Despite the complicated relationship between a Father and son, they understood that they were willing to do at least what was best for business, making beneficial exchanges to benefit one another.

"Yes, Captain Senko"

Michiya would never call him Father but only use his title and last name as if he were a stranger or appeared to be a professional. It wasn't to remain a secret but to show how he disregarded his Father as nothing more than just another shinigami.

"I happened to come by some important information, but it will not come free. I came here to strike a de-"

Captain Senko had already heard about enough. Michiya's speaking was nothing, as if Kagi wasn't already aware of how this works between them, and given the alert, it was not good, but he cared less about the situation and moreso what was done to be ready. Nothing was done to prepare for this large scale. The Captain believed things should have been handled and prepped beforehand by those who govern those jurisdictions, so it would be up to them to allow things to go this far. Had they been ready, they wouldn't have to rush to the human's aid. It shall be a lesson learned when receiving news about a possible invasion. One should have gone to great lengths to prepare. Then again, beings in charge shouldn't have to be taught preparations; it just shows they lacking greatly, not priortizing. Maybe Taro was right; Kagi should have watched the divisions much more closely, but in due time, he would have had eyes on what was happening in the world of the living to report everything they witnessed. Once this situation is done, Kagi will be the judge and need be....the executioner.

"Boy," Kagi said a single word with a stern voice of authority. He was already annoyed with Michiya wasting his breath and would not let him finish his words.

"You are already wasting my time. You have information, and I have something you want, right? So, let's skip this small talk and share what you know. If the information is as valuable as you say, we can discuss what I can give you in return."

Michiya popped open a case while punching in a series of codes to reveal the contents inside, ignoring the orange vial he found himself fidgeting with. As if he was toying with the reminder of what it contained, Kagi was not concerned with what the orange liquid was capable of doing, let alone if anything happened to Michiya, even a drop of blood; Kagi was not concerned at all. Kagi may not be much of a scientist, but there were ways to dispatch someone without dropping a single blood. Michiya, of all people, should know that his Father is capable of adapting to situations, given his former title and job as vice commander of the Stealth Force. And whatever that neon orange substance may contain.

"This is my newest prototype of compact Denreishinki, everything from the other with some additional features designed with nanotech and holographic displays as you just witnessed. I am willing to part a few with you, along with the main proposition I come here for, you have some specimen I wish to get my hands on; particularly traitors to Soul Society you no longer have use for."

Kagi waited and listened to the demonstrations of some new inventions that he did not care to have for himself. These watches could be distributed amongst his members. He knew that this wasn't the actual dealing but rather a distraction to keep it from prying eyes and listening ears. Michiya was cautious and could be slightly paranoid. While discussing the watches, Kagi's eyes slightly shifted to the left. Kagi noticed Michiya slid an origami star-shaped paper from their pocket, opening it up until it showed a single code and a series of numbers, which didn't take long for Kagi to analyze, given how he is the one who came up with numerically coded messages. The single code spelled out:

"DATE"

Both of Kagi's eyes squinted, not because he couldn't see but because that one word intrigued him greatly enough to make a date his main objective. He already set it in motion to have someone follow him but has not received any reports yet if they even made it in time. Kagi knows very little of the Date clan, but only rumors, but even the rumors did not reveal much of anything. Since his first run-in with the new Captain of 11th, Kagi had an interest but was undecided if he was interested in Taro being a threat or an interest of someone who could be of use and benefit. That remains to be seen at this time, but Kagi will decide what fate holds between them.

"I do have two I'm willing to part with. One is dead, and the other one is unconscious. I will not take any responsibility to have them brought to you. However, before you take them.....what information do you have on the Date?"

Michiya always knew how to get to Kagi's heart, which was information, Kagi's greatest asset. He loves gathering intel, no matter how insignificant. Not everyone takes advantage of collecting information, but doing so is very important to someone like Kagi. It gives him the edge in planning for potential danger to himself or the Soul Society. Analyzing the best course of action after seeing different perspectives and discovering the truth leads to a conclusion that can be applied to other purposes. Kagi can choose to benefit others or himself, knowing their strengths and weaknesses, even their secrets, to use against them if it becomes necessary. All of this is because of his mistrust within the Gotei 13; there could be another Civil war, and he is aware Central 46 could pose a risk or be compromised. They weren't to be trusted either, so Kagi will do what most aren't willing to do to protect their livelihood, and if that makes him the bad guy, he does not mind being painted as a cold-hearted villain.

Keniro Senko
Reaching their destination and letting out a sigh Keniro was tired of being restrained, feeling the need to stretch his limbs and he began to feel uncontrollably anxious; without his freedom to move around the limited movement really got under his skin more than anything. His cheery personality slowly became gloomier with each second passing until it started to affect his demeanor physically, most would just say he was being childish or dramatic as he was clearly pouting seconds after he was just smiling and goofing around.
“And you—do not leave this area. I will be close by to make sure you do not do anything you aren’t welcome to.”
Pfft… whatever.” Childishly struggling his shoulders in response to the masked shinigami orders.
Oh, you mean the whole ‘I’ll kill you without hesitation’ thing?
A huge smile formed on Keniro’s face as Ren passed the test, deciphering his question despite his lack of communication skills. He continued to listen to her as she explained her experience with her captain and his older brother Kagi.
Far as I can tell, your brother doesn’t do the whole ‘sentimental family reunion’ thing. You ask me? Looks like he thinks you’re just another soldier. And considering the way he tests people…” She trailed off, letting Keniro fill in the blanks himself."
"That's not how I remember him" Keniro raised an eyebrow as and began whispered under his breath trying to comment without interrupting Ren. However, he felt this version Kagi may have been brought to the surface due to some sort of trauma response but that wasn't a good enough reason to sentence his own flesh and blood for simply being a pestering fool. For now, he'd not try to investigate to much as that wasn't department of expertise.
You gonna be able to handle that, or are you just here for the theatrics?

The nerve of this young lady he thought to himself... drop the theatrics... looking towards an imaginary 4th wall staring off into space with a blank face before slowly grinning from ear-to-ear Keniro, turned his attention back to Ren who may have possibly witnessed his inner dialogue manifesting in the form of phyiscal expressions.

"Drop the theatrics? what do you mean?"

Curious as to what does she mean had Ren paid close attention to his facial expression she'd notice that he'd look genuinely confused as if the question did not compute with his brain. He knew she would end up wondering if he was serious or not, but in truth he was unsure by what she meant as he was geniunly being himself which is often looked at as a menace to society.

Ren had always been good at reading people. You had to be when you spent your life playing a role—when every word, every smirk, every perfectly timed laugh was carefully placed to keep people guessing. She wasn’t the strongest. She wasn’t the fastest, but she knew how to make people think she was unpredictable. She knew how to make them question what was real and what wasn’t, how to use perception as her weapon.

And that was why Keniro fascinated her. He was transparent.

Most people put on some kind of front, even if they weren’t aware of it. But Keniro? He didn’t even seem to realize how much he was putting out there. He spoke like a character in some grand production, his reactions so exaggerated it was like he expected an audience to be hanging on his every word. And the thing was—she didn’t think he was faking it.

That was what made him different from her.

Ren’s theatrics were a calculated choice. A deflection, her shield, her cover. A way to make sure no one looked too closely. But Keniro? He wasn’t playing a role. This was just who he was and that, that was almost dangerous. Sooner or later he was going to run into someone who didn’t care for the show.

Kagi was definitely that someone..

She watched as Keniro’s frustration slowly simmered beneath the surface. His dramatic energy had been so constant that now, as it faded, it left behind a strange sort of emptiness. His body language screamed restlessness—the slight twitch in his fingers, the way his grin faltered when he wasn’t actively performing. He needed movement and the moment he was denied it, that spark inside him dulled.

But then she answered his vague question about Kagi, and suddenly, the light was back. A grin stretched across his face, like she had answered the way he thought she might.

"That's not how I remember him."

That muttered whisper—that’s not how I remember him—barely loud enough to register.Ren’s golden eye lingered on him a beat longer.
That was…interesting.

Keniro believed in Kagi. Not feared, not resented. Believed. That was what stood out to her the most. He wasn’t looking at his brother like an enemy, or a threat—he was looking at him like someone who had just lost his way.

Ren had met plenty of people who had been burned by justice. Some who fought against it. Some who embraced it too hard and became the very thing they once despised. But Keniro? He still thought Kagi was reachable.

That was… naive.

And yet, Ren found herself tilting her head, considering him more carefully. Was that really so different from her?

Hadn’t she spent years pretending she didn’t care about power because she was afraid of what it would make her? Wasn’t she always one step away from slipping down a path she couldn’t come back from? Maybe the difference was that no one had looked at her the way Keniro was looking at Kagi right now. Like there was still something in there worth pulling back.

Her amusement didn’t fade, but something quieter settled beneath it.

Then, like a switch had flipped, Keniro was back to his usual self, turning toward her with an expression that made it seem like he had completely forgotten what they had been talking about.

“Drop the theatrics? What do you mean?”

Ren blinked, silence hanging in the air for a moment.

Oh, he was serious.

She watched him carefully, waiting for even the slightest sign that he was screwing with her. But there was none. No teasing glint in his eye, no smirk creeping at the edges. Just genuine confusion.

Her lips parted slightly, then closed.

Oh, damn.

She let out a sharp laugh, shaking her head. “Oh, shit, you really don’t even notice you’re doin’ it, huh?”

That was actually kind of incredible.

She shifted her weight, sizing him up again, this time with a newfound appreciation. “Alright, Ken-kun, let me spell it out for ya—you talk like you’re narrating your own damn life. Big entrances, dramatic pauses, that whole grinning at the invisible camera thing you just did? Yeah. You’re practically a walking stage play.”

She flashed her canines in a smirk. “And honestly? I respect that. I love a good show. But if you think your brother’s gonna sit back and clap for ya, you’re in for a ruuuude awakening.”

Because that was the problem, wasn’t it?

Keniro wasn’t acting. This was him. That relentless energy, that over-the-top charm—it wasn’t a mask. It was genuine. And maybe it had carried him through life just fine so far, but just meeting for a few moments... Seeing him deal the killing blow to that man... Kagi wasn’t like the rest of the world.

Kagi’s justice didn’t bend for personality.

It didn’t acknowledge past relationships or shared blood. It didn’t care if you thought someone was different than they used to be. Kagi’s sense of justice was a blade, and once it was drawn, there was no sheathing it.

If Keniro wasn’t prepared for that, if he still thought his brother was someone he could reach, someone who might hesitate just because they were family…
Well...

Ren had spent her whole life playing the wildcard. She knew better than most how this kind of story usually ended. She let the silence stretch for a moment before clicking her tongue, biting her tongue ring. “Well,” she muttered, stretching her arms over her head, “guess we’ll see how long that attitude lasts.”

Because if Keniro really thought he could pull Kagi back, if he really believed in his own story that much—

He might just be in for the biggest plot twist of his life.

When Michiya stepped into the boundaries of the 2nd division barracks, he knew the father-son chess match had begun. He had no intention of putting a stop to the Date nor hinder them because he understood whatever Taro Date had planned was for the benefit of Soul Society, and both Captains decided to work together, which would further benefit him in his goals. He was simply the messenger and what Kagi decided to do with that information had no concern of him afterward and he remained confident his father wouldn't interfere in matters but keep a close eye on the Date even more so.

After the others had taken leave, the news of the attack, while devastating, held little concern to the two of them, outside what intriguing information could be extracted from these events, and secondly, all the souls needed to fuel his experiment. One by one everything seemed to be falling into place for him and he was not about to let this slow down because once he set his mind on something he honed into it with a deadly focus. Once he started speaking, he dismissed the alert, but even though none of their divisions were tasked to deal with the threat directly, however, his uncle Keniro Senko was part of the 13th division. From what it looked like on his arrival here, his father was going to dish out the punishment directly for his insubordination to his duties.

"Boy," Kagi said a single word with a stern voice of authority. He was already annoyed with Michiya wasting his breath and would not let him finish his words.

When his father cut him short, calling him boy, Michiya glared at him with an intensity but remained unphased by it. He was not one to let things like being called a cog, or boy, because anyone with intelligence knows they are just simply words with no meaning, and weight besides what you give it. Now that Michiya thought about it, this was the second person to call him boy, but did people struggle that much to understand how to determine age, and both happened to be Captains nonetheless. The only thing that mattered was your efforts and what you had to show for, and if Kagi liked it or not, he was going to respect what he had to offer as he gained intelligence, even the infamous Kagi Senko couldn't. He continued with his proposition until hearing what his father had to offer for him.
"I do have two I'm willing to part with. One is dead, and the other one is unconscious. I will not take any responsibility to have them brought to you. However, before you take them.....what information do you have on the Date?"

Michiya had already noticed the one he spoke of dead on the floor, and could see that he was killed fairly recently, so still provided use. He performed a hand gesture to start encasing the dead body into a time-space barrier to place the dead body into stasis and preserve the body for now. While he did this, he kept his focus on Kagi as he spoke and took care of business.

"I'll get straight down to it, I learned that the Date Clan has cicada used for communication similar to the Jigoku, but I am not privy to what it looks like or special features it contains. Though, what I am about to tell will require more than just these two prisoners, I will need at least five more to make this equivalent exchange."

He waited for a small bit, then once an arrangement was made, he got down to business. He clasped his hands encasing the unconscious one in a barrier alongside the dead body with both getting lifted. Giving the same intense stare to Kagi, his crimson eyes gleamed in the light with an ominous aura about him.

"Taro Date, received permission from Central 46 to use an artifact to allow them to weaponize the Sokyoku to fight against the arrancar. When this all takes place, I don't know, and I am sure you understand this information remains between us because it will affect business with Captain Harai."

He left out what arrangements Shibuya and Taro made, but what he provided him was surely enough to appease Kagi for equal transaction.

"I'll get straight down to it."

"About time," the Captain would have thought.

He had more important matters to attend to, too. He did not have time to speak so plainly as if they were best buddies. Despite Michiya being the son of Kagi, even the Father finds himself unable to withstand his son's company any longer than it should.

"I learned that the Date Clan has a cicada used for communication similar to the Jigoku, but I am not privy to what it looks like or what special features it contains. Though, what I am about to tell will require more than just these two prisoners, I will need at least five more to make this equivalent exchange."

Five? Did he think Kagi had that many here? Kagi wasn't even sure how he knew about him having bodies, but five? That is more excessive to ask for. For a moment, Kagi pondered whether Michiya was even aware of him having spare bodies or if he assumed that with the hopes that Kagi had any bodies? No. That wasn't like Michiya to take anything; he preferred to have the facts before requesting anything. Surely, no one in his division would be that foolish to leak any information, for they know or should know the penalty for such actions. Even if they tried to hide or run, Kagi would find out eventually. The Captain is far from all-knowing, but to gain information, one must use what they can get and ask the right questions. Manipulating the right people will reveal the answers without the opposing side even realizing it.

"I will decide if your intel is worth that. I currently only have those two there. So take what you get. However, I could have more later once my Lieutenant returns. But if what you say does not hold up, you will not get what you want but those two over there."

Kagi stated that watching his son have this expression written on his face was neither threatening nor scary. It was as if he was giving off the impression of the seriousness of the news he was about to leak. It could be passion. Or something else.

"Taro Date, received permission from Central 46 to use an artifact to allow them to weaponize the Sokyoku to fight against the arrancar. When this all takes place, I don't know, and I am sure you understand this information remains between us because it will affect business with Captain Harai."

There was a pause, and Kagi stared at him blankly and unimpressed. Indeed, there had to be more; this couldn't be it. Kagi grew aggravated at this point, but he did not blame Michiya for not being aware that Kagi had already heard this before. At the time, Taro's conversation with Central did not raise any red flags. If this was all he had to offer, it would only have disturbed Kagi to see how much time was wasted. The black-haired Captain took a short yet soft and frustrating sigh while both arms crossed into his bulky chest.

"I am aware of what Central allowed Captain Taro to do. I was there when he interrupted me during my dealings with Central. I have yet to figure out what prone him to rudely interrupt my meeting and think he had some superiority complex to order me around. Still, he isn't on my radar now unless you have something else to give me worth checking out for myself. We are done here if you have nothing else to share. But take the bodies as a gift since you came all this way. I'd rather you not leave empty-handed."

He continued to stand firm and unwavering in front of his father, seeing the patience running out in him. Just like Kagi, he too had another matter of business to tend to, so it seemed that two of their business were wrapping up into their conclusion. The two of them ran the extent of the time they were willing to grant one another.
"I will decide if your intel is worth that. I currently only have those two there. So take what you get. However, I could have more later once my Lieutenant returns. But if what you say does not hold up, you will not get what you want but those two over there."

Michiya made his final proposition to his father, which was a big gamble on his behalf, but he never shied away from accomplishing what he needed. Those who feared to make bold plays were destined to remain stagnant if they never made any ambitious plays. This one depended on how much Kagi knew and unfortunately didn't pan out exactly in his favor. Though one thing Kagi found himself pondering about was true, Michiya did prefer to have facts and not just make blind requests that held no merit. What Kagi had failed to remember when it came to statistics and weaving the facts together, his son was very well versed in it. Knowing how efficient Kagi was even before he became a Captain, and knowing he is in charge of the Maggot's Nest, and all that added into the equation of how many traitors there were during the Civil War, assuming anything less would be an insult to his father. The fact Michiya so boldly stated that without question or hesitation showed how confident and much respect he had for what his father was capable of.

Unfortunately, Kagi's reputation continued to precede him but this exchange wasn't for nothing. Out of it he managed to learn what Kagi knew and his insight with Taro knowing how to go forward with things. Before he could reply to his father's generosity, he collapsed into his knees, quickly drinking the serum he held in hand. The lifted bodies wavered slightly for a brief moment, Michiya emitted a hollow reiatsu signifying the first step of his Zanpakuto experiment was done and it successfully managed to absorb all the hollows spiritual energy and blood, the other half of his Zanpakuto sat in. Standing back up properly, he made one final hand gesture as the two bodies gifted to him disappeared, followed by a bow in gratitude.

"We will call this an ongoing exchange, I will continue to bring you valuable information in exchange for prisoners. It was a pleasure doing business with you, Captain Senko. Now, if you excuse me I have Zanpakuto modifications calling my name, and I will give your Zanpakuto a free touch up on the house if you ever stop by my office."

And with those words spoken after leaving Kagi with a few of the watches offered, he departed the 2nd division barracks. Even though a part of him was curious to observe what Kagi had planned for those two, he had other devious plans that required expediency.

The meeting between Kagi and Michiya was finally coming to an end, and it turned out to be a one-sided deal. Michiya got what he wanted out of the meeting, or at least enough to not leave empty-handed. On the other hand, Kagi only got watches as a gift, but the information Michiya provided was not valuable. It didn't hold up; there were just a few things Kagi could pick out, minor details, but not something he would rush to go and deal with. So either Michiya was holding back information for reasons that even Kagi wouldn't be able to decipher given that his son is always plotting in the dark, always up to no good where he only did things and manipulated others to his benefit. One could say he was a chip off the block; he was every bit of his father's child. Kagi wouldn't usually allow someone to take something and not get anything in return. Perhaps it was out of generosity? No. The bodies Kagi allowed to leave served their purpose and became utterly useless to him; with Michiya taking them off his hands, it was like having a child take out the trash by order of the parent.

Then suddenly, a moment later, Michiya dropped onto his knees, quickly taking a shot of an orange substance that he held earlier, which could be assumed to ease whatever he had going on—perhaps an antidote for the virus he had taken before entering the second division barracks. Kagi's eyes widened just slightly as he suddenly felt hollow energy flowing from Michiya. Exactly what did he do? Where did he get this from? Kagi gazed over to the lifted bodies just for Michiya to gesture his hands in a way that caused them to disappear. Kagi's eyes no longer widened, the jaw muscle tensed up, furrowed his eyebrows, narrowing his eyes at Michiya; Kagi grew somewhat concerned but also intrigued at the same time.

Kagi looked at him with a very puzzling look as Michiya decided he would want to keep this going as an exchange, but it wasn't much of an exchange; it was moreso him gaining than Kagi receiving. Kagi couldn't help but feel insulted and taken advantage. Next time, if they ever try to do what Michiya likes to call an exchange, Kagi won't be so generous. With those words, Michiya took it upon himself to make his departure.

"If there is a next time. Boy." Kagi told himself in his subconscious as he watched Michiya leave.

Now that it was over, the little time between them was wasted, at least for Kagi. It was time to deal with the children, but only one would get the worst of it, as they may not be aware of their trouble for ignoring their duties and responsibilities. Walking around carrying the family name was unforgivable; the Captain would no longer have it. It was time for Keniro Senko to fight for his livelihood. With that, Kagi departed from the underground area and went to where Ren and Keniro should be. He wouldn't doubt that the masked shinigami would watch over Keniro, which would mean Keniro would start to get anxious. He wasn't the type to stand still for too long before he dug himself another hole of trouble.

Keniro Senko
Feeling anxious from being surrounded by masked shinigami but momentarily distracted by the conversation with Ren, Keniro was truly fascinated in this conversation paying close attention every word as if this was his first time ever speaking with someone; aside from his brother this was the longest he ever stuck around to finish a conversation with someone up until now. His luck with people usually is either hit or miss after the first ten seconds but for once somehow, he managed to avoid making another person despise him. The young prankster often caused many people to tear him apart limb from limb, receiving threats from those he was supposed to call comrade. Still, that never stopped him from smiling as he genuinely could care less about anyone else's opinion of him however he did feel the need to befriend someone every now and then and it just so happened that he may have found the perfect candidate.

Ren was in for a world of trouble with someone like Keniro considering her as a friend.

“Oh, shit, you really don’t even notice you’re doin’ it, huh?”
Keniro tilts his head to the side and raises an eyebrow confused as ever.

“Alright, Ken-kun, let me spell it out for ya—you talk like you’re narrating your own damn life. Big entrances, dramatic pauses, that whole grinning at the invisible camera thing you just did? Yeah. You’re practically a walking stage play.”
Just a moment as Ren began Keniro's mind would shut down from his brain being overloaded with information. His eyes staring straight ahead, his body locked in place as his mind drifted into the vast emptiness known as the void as he tried to finish listening.

She flashed her canines in a smirk. “And honestly? I respect that. I love a good show. But if you think your brother’s gonna sit back and clap for ya, you’re in for a ruuuude awakening.”

No matter what he was determined to finish the conversation despite baring comprehending what was being said aside from rude awakening.
"Rude Awakening sounds like a plan..."

Keniro crossed his arms and instantly began thinking of the rudest ways he could wake his brother up although that might not work to much given the fact that he was a trained assassin who could probably hears a pin drop from a mile away. With his imagination running wild his attention drifted once again barely paying any attention to his surroundings, however his eyes remained locked on Ren as if he were still listening. Keniro's lived his life on the edge fear wasn't something he was strongly invested in only afraid of losing a loved one and not being strong enough to protect them was the only thing that he feared, with that being said most threating situation he took lightly but not without caution, had he been dead there was no way he could be there for those he cared for. After his personal goal was to become a captain and create a division whose purpose was to fight for those who were too weak to fight for themselves, that was his purpose for joining the thirteenth division after all.
“guess we’ll see how long that attitude lasts.”

"I have an idea!!!" He shouted not even a millisecond after Ren was done talking.

"This will be the biggest prank of them all" chuckling evilly as he rubs his hands together "Big bro won't know what hit him" displaying a huge sinister grin on his face as he finally pieced together his mischievous plans. "Sorry did you say something..." Apologizing to Ren as he heard her voice without comprehending the word she spoke after he accidently zoned out mid conversation.
