Having been given their orders from their Vice-Captain Third Division begins mobilizing their reserve Rukongai units to be deployed at the four gates of the Seireitei. Riots have been happening at each gate along with the death of the Western Gate Guardian. As ordered by the Vice-Captain Third Division is to aid Ninth in calming the masses as this has now become a situation that falls on both Division’s shoulders. Meanwhile, a smaller team is sent to the Western Gate to not aid in the investigation but rather ensure that Ninth has the room, space, and manpower necessary to conduct said investigation without interruption or distraction. Moving with all haste the small team makes their way to the western gate where they are stopped by members of Ninth Division. They explain the reason for their arrival and how they are there to ease their burden a bit. Without specific instructions from the Vice-Captain on how to do this they assumed Ninth would place them where they feel they are most needed at the moment, aiding with watch and guard duties seem to be the most likely positions they would fill. However, with this extra manpower they are likely to conduct this investigation in a more calm manner without having to constantly look over their shoulders.

As for the other gates, Third Division was quick to arrive on the scene there as well, with the faster members arriving first and the slower ones slowly trickling in over time. Like their Vice-Captain they take the route of patience with the rioters, instead of imposing their will over them like the Gods of Death that they are, they try to calm the crowd with words, ensuring them that their Vice-Captain is on the move and looking into the matter. Otokogi’s name should hold some sway or weight over the crowd as he has always been one to treat the souls of the Rukongai fairly and justly. Hearing that he is on the move to figure out what is going on could potentially settle them down enough to let Third and Ninth reel the situation in and disperse the crowd, even if only by a little bit. Naturally the members of Third Division keep their wits about them, patrolling the Rukongai is dangerous and just because the crowd has settled down does not mean the danger has subsided, it could only be the calm before the storm.

With orders from his captain, Takao traveled through the seireitei. He'd shunpo here and there to keep himself moving quickly. The destination would be the Western Gate. He was preparing what to say to the division members working there. If nothing else, the best way was, to be honest with them. While he traveled, he let his mind wander on possible explanations. In case his endeavors failed, Takao figured he'd need to focus on a different area. After all, the captain told him to figure this out. Being the way he was, Takao would work himself until he needed to eat or sleep. Arriving at the scene, Takao took note of the people there. He decided to watch what they were doing first. In a way, it gave an idea of where they were investigating. With another glance around, he looked at the gate for a moment.

Of course, nothing was going to get done if he stayed watching. Takao had gone down to the group investigating, looking around to find someone in charge. He bit his lip, nervous about the reaction that he'd be met with. He did stay out of the way for now. He didn't want to interfere with their work or mess something up. When he found someone that looked to guide him in a direction. Takao gave a bow and began to explain himself.

"Excuse me. I apologize for bothering you all at such a tragic time. Captian Arisu Nakazawa sent me. I've been ordered to investigate. May I ask for some more information on what happened?"

The seritei flee past the sight of the Pink-haired lieutenant. The world seemed slow to her naked eye as she kept track and aware of every little thing that could have been out of place. She recalled each and every moment she spent with the dead gate guardian. She knew this was bad, really bad. She couldn't remember anything that was off. everything was as the same happened every day. How could this have happened to the woman she called a friend and a fellow Shinigami. Someone she would trust her life with. Suddenly taken from their post by death. She kept herself together and contained but truly this was shaking her to her core. She needed to find the answers. She needed to find who did this to her squad. Someone needed to pay. She was going to ensure whoever it was. they were going to pay for it.

She snapped her thoughts back to reality reaching the wester gate as she stopped on top of the wall looking down towards the last spot she remember Shirai was. She was furious deep down but she held it behind her soft demeanor. She moved down from the wall, shunpoing next to the members of the third squad

"Thankyou for your assistance. I appreciate all you have done for us, I will ensure your efforts are rewarded in some way." She spoke greeting them all. she respected the fact they came and was tending to what her squad should be doing but giving the circumstance, it was acceptable. She moved forward only to hear a lone voice speak up causing her to turn towards them as she listened. Captain Arisu sent them? She did find it a bit odd for the thirteenth to have sent one of their own to assist when the third was more then enough. However it would be rude to send the Shinigami home.

"You know about as much as I know kid. I'm Fuyuko Munetoshi, the Vice captain of the deceased Shinigami Shirai Hikaru. Come."
qwe12313.png
She spoke getting to the point. She didn't have much time to bicker with the kid nor was she going to turn him away because his captain felt he was necessary here. Her emerald green eyes scanned the area as she moved forwards to where the other ninth squad members were, securing the area. flipping some hair behind her shoulder as she walked, her cotton lady pink locks flowing freely behind her as her emerald eyes held firm in their silent deadly resolve.

"Return to the line, assist the third in securing the area and calming down the rioters. Remember they are scared, such things are scary as fingers will be pointed due to assumptions. Please do not be offended by what is said or done. We are not here to scare them or harm them."

she instructed the members.

Her voice was calm and motherly laced with softness and caring as her eyes remained soft in their glances. Her movements flowed like water, elegant and soft, not an intent of harm within their movements. She got nodds and approvals as the members bowed dismissing themselves as she moved towards the body.

"Apperantly, It was this morning that Shirai was slain. There has been reports of Hollow and shinigami presences, both not her own from this scene but no suspect has been found or caught."

She kneeled down next to the body lifting the robe covering her face before allowing a saddening sigh to escape her covered lips.

"Shirai...I failed you as a fellow member of our squad. I relive your of your position so take ease as I will ensure your murderer is found and justice is survived. No one will be able to fill your spot at this gate but I will ensure it is protected as hard as you protected it."

She was gentle, giving her own soft goodbye to a old friend. She hated this part of the job. She hated lives ending too quickly.

She slowly replaced the robe over the body as she put her hands together, speaking a soft prayer to her fallen comrade. Soon after her quick pray she stood up dusting off her pants of her uniform as her eyes remained soft as she scanned the area, comparing all she saw to what she saw this morning. She was worried and over thinking her interactions this morning. Nothing was wrong, nothing was off putting. What could she have missed during her visit with Shirai. She had to have missed something or someone standing out. She slowly turned towards the crowd taking in every face she could see, burning them all into her brain. She needed to know what happened. This was going to nag her and get out of control. She hated when things got out of control.

"Understood. I'll go wherever you need me to be."

Takao followed and stood with the others. Suddenly, the death felt all too real. He couldn't start to think what it would feel like to investigate a death that hit close. For him, it was difficult to hear that a fellow shinigami had died. However, he didn't have a connection to them. The shock came more from the lack of suspects. Alongside the unique presence found, more questions were in Takao's mind. Not a single possibility came to mind on what it could all mean. He would head off with the others. What to expect from the riot? Takao was unsure it wasn't like they were strong soldiers. Mostly just average souls trying to live their life. The vice-captain was right. There wasn't a need to get violent. Since it only hurt their image, while innocent people would be injured or in fear.

Standing with the other shinigami, he looked out at the people. He watched them while thinking to himself. The little information that he had bounced around his head. Possibilities seemed endless right now. He wondered if anyone in the town saw something. Hell, they could have heard something for all he knew. For now, he examined people, looking for distinguishing features to remember later. A worry filled his gut. It was hard to say how people would react to shinigami nowadays. He knew that reception to the Gotei 13 had changed from when he was young.

Maybe it had always been this way. It was hard to say for him. That sense of wonder about being a shinigami filled his mind for years. It may not have been the most glamorous job. It had been the most rewarding. From seeing things that he'd never experienced to seeing solid fighters. Though, days like these reminded him of how fragile life could be. In his mind, all he could do was send a prayer to the fallen shinigami. For the hope that they can rest easy now.

Having been relieved of his duty of being in charge of the members of his squad at Central 46, Kinkō left the command up to 5th seat Arata Shiba. He had other orders which were to assist in the investigation of what truly happened to the 9th Western Gate Guardian. His task was to see if there was anything linking her death to the recent murder attempts of Central 46 members. He was hoping that they could get the investigation done as swiftly and efficiently as possible. The longer they didn't have answers, the more restless the Soul Society was going to get. On one end would be the Rukongai seeing an opportunity to use the chaos and the other end would be citizens of the Seireitei demanding answers. If no one felt safe then there would be no point of keeping order.

Kinkō arrived to see the Vice-Captain kneeling next to the deceased Gate Guardian. He let her finished having her moment with the fallen. Once she had stood up and dusted herself off, he stepped forward. "Vice-Captain Munetoshi, Third Seat Kinkō Kuchiki with orders from Captain Tsunayashiro to assist with the investigation. I take it not much is known as yet. I will assist you. Is there anything that you noticed as yet or are we at square one with the investigation?"

For all who knew Gate Guardian Hikaru, her death would come as a shock beyond words. Well known for her strength and resolve both physically and mentally, and surprisingly well-liked across the varied Divisions with times as they were, her untimely and mysterious demise would surely strike concern into any sensible Soul. Three Captains, and now a Gate Guardian; four beings with spiritual power beyond the reach of most, and yet, their bodies found lifeless, stomped out as if they were nothing more than insects.

The brave and virtuous Fuyuko Munetoshi, Vice-Captain of the Ninth, made her appearance; she’d come to investigate the matter, and give her respects to a cherished subordinate. But she wasn’t alone, for the other Divisions had gotten word of the Gate Guardian’s murder, and they wouldn’t trust to receive accurate details from the Ninth.

As such, Takao Takumi, an officer of the Thirteenth, had been sent to investigate on their behalf. So too was Kinkō Kuchiki for the Second.

With fresh and foreign faces popping up from all over the Seireitei, it would surely be no surprise to Vice-Captain Munetoshi that the Fourth Division too would join the fray. A small unit of four Fourth Division Shinigami made their way toward the Vice-Captain, carrying seemingly heavy equipment on their backs. The center-most Shinigami, an older male who presented as the leader of the unit, walked up to the Vice-Captain.

“Greetings Vice-Captain Munetoshi, I am Sixth Seat Goro Kazuya of the Fourth Division. Captain Kuchiki has learned of this terrible tragedy and has sent us on her behalf to aid with forensic investigations. She is very troubled by recent events, and wishes to get to the bottom of it.”

Vice-Captain Munetoshi, being close to Captain Shihaimono, would know that the two Captains, that being Kuchiki and her own, were close friends; the two Divisions were of the few that collaborated as of late.

Before he could continue, one of his subordinates spoke. “Sir, there’s only one wound on the subject.” A glance back at the crime scene would show the three subordinate Fourth Divisioners already setting up and examining the corpse. “A single thrust to the heart, and it looks like the injury was caused by…a lance-type weapon, sir.”

A pensive silence befell the area, until a most peculiar sound sliced it; the ringing of a Denreishinki, coming from Shirai Hikaru’s dead body. Had no one thought to inspect for her personal belongings?

Upon inspecting the device, if anyone were so inclined, they’d notice an unregistered number calling on the lock-screen. Unfortunately, only the dead Gate Guardian would be able to unlock the device, if she were alive. Would there be anyone capable of bypassing the lock?

There was only one place to seek answers, that being the place where such a device was built: the Twelfth Division.

Fuyuko Looked towards the newest of arrivals, Kinko Kuchiki, the Third seat of the 2nd division. She knew of the boy and has had interactions with him and his family. She was indeed curious why it seemed she was getting at least one member from each squad investigating this murder.

"Thankyou for coming Kinko. There is indeed isn't much and as much as I could investigate myself, it is better we don't touch the body till it is transported to the four-" Speaking of the devil and he will come. She turned to the newest of presences, a few members lead by the sixth seat of the fourth.

She nodded knowing the fourth well giving the two captains friendships. If there was anyone who could narrow what happened it was the fourth and the twelfth.

"Thankyou for joining us on this tragedy. Do tell your captain she has my thanks for wishing to help get to the bottom of this. I do appreciate and I know Shiari would have as well." She spoke kneeling back down by the body watching the fourth members do their jobs. "A single stab wound...and a lance..."She whispered to herself making mental notes of the information. Shikari wasn't one that was going to let her guard down or allow anyone to suddenly take her out. No, Either she didn't see her attacker coming or it was someone very close to her. The citizens knew her and the squad knew her very well. Fuyuko knew her probably the best from her morning visits. "Shiari...Who was it..."She whispered gently to herself before hearing a ring snap her back to reality. She reached into her own robes pulling out a white cloth.

She used her free hand to reach into Shirai's robes pulling out the Denreishinki, ignoring the blood caking her hand. She examined the screen watching the unregistered number. Who was it that was calling her. Not many other then those in the seritei could contact each other on the Denreishinki.

Fuyuko brought out her own scrolling through her contents not seeing any similarities to the unregistered number.

"I will take this to the twelfth myself. Takao, I would like you to stay with Shirai's body and ensure it's escort to the fourth. Kinko, I will have you come with me to the twelfth." She spoke wrapping the blood stained Denreishinki in the cloth, before placing it within the safety of her own robes.

She then looked over to Goro "Goro-san, Can you give me a vial of her blood by chance? I am going to have Takao Escort you all to the fourth but I want to request if you can have the entire autopsy report to my Denreishinki, My captain and the twelfth Division." She asked the Shinigami.

She stood up after a few minutes receiving a confirmation of her requests as well as a vial of the Guardian's Blood. She placed it within her robe next to the phone. She closed her eyes allowing her body to relax a bit. She was glad Shiari wasn't going to be all alone and well taken care of by the fourth. As much as she would wish to remain with the former guardian out of respect. She had more to do. She had a laundry list of chores. She needed to know who was on the other line of the Denreishinki unregistered call. She had to see this through even if her gut said otherwise.

"Please have a safe journey to the fourth everyone. Come Kinko." She spoke turning her back to the group before taking her leave, Disappearing in an instant, flying high above the gotei towards the twelfth.

In a short time, Takao heard the others talking. More help arrived to investigate the scene. The 4th division looked like they had a lot of equipment with them. What it was used for was beyond him. For the moment, he turned his attention to the people. Then, a few words caught his attention. The nature of the killing blow. He blinked to himself, the silence filling the air. Was it a sneak attack? It became a possibility that he considered. He felt himself thinking, trying to connect anything.

The ringing of a denreishinki caught his attention. He moved his hand to his uniform. Then he realized that it wasn't his own. He glanced over to see the vice-captain pull the device from the body. A curiosity about what or who it could be. How they could be connected to it all. The orders from Fuyuko caused him to look over. After receiving the orders, Takao bowed to the group.

"Will do. They'll make it there without a problem. I'll make sure of it."

Takao made his way closer to the group. He looked at Goro and gave a slight bow. He waited for the two to finish their conversation. Mostly to not be rude and interrupt. Afterward, he would begin to introduce himself.

"Takao Takumi. Seventh Seat of Thirteen. I'll help your division in any way you need. It's good to meet you."

He would stay near the fourth division. While staying out of their way as they worked. He kept an eye on his surroundings. A hand holding onto the sheathe of his zanpakuto. In honesty, it made sense to have an escort, with the events happening and the death of the gate guardian. It had to put everyone on edge. One of those people would be himself. Something that could kill in a single attack had to be strong. He hoped that whatever investigation they would do with the body. It would bring them closer to finding an answer to her death.

After announcing his arrival, Vice-Captain Munetoshi thanked him for coming. She was someone he was familiar with due to familiar interactions. Even though she could be considered an ally, Kinkō didn't fully trust her. Well, it went without saying that he didn't trust any fully anymore. There was always a level of doubt that lingered in the back of his head, even for members of his clan. That said, he treated everyone with respect and was willing to trust them enough to get the job done.

Seeing the mystery of the situation, he figured that there wasn't much known about the situation as yet. Needing to be brought up to date as to any information learned as yet, he asked the vice captain if she noticed anything as yet or if they were all in the dark. The vice captain confirmed that there wasn't much known and her conclusion was that it was better to not touch the body until it was transported to the fourth division.

Speaking of the fourth, their team had finally arrived to assist with an autopsy as well as transport of the deceased. They were being led by the sixth seat who introduced himself to Fuyoko. While he spoke to her, his small team began their examination.

"Sir, there is only one wound on the subject. A single thrust to the heart, and it looks like the injury was caused by...a lance-type weapon, sir."

Kinkō's eyes widened with surprise. Such a feat required someone who was extremely skilled and precise. Just who could have done this? "Do we know anyone who has a lance type shikai or bankai? Can you also see if the stabbing was from the front or behind? Finding out that could also prove useful."

When the Gate Guardian's denreishinki went off, Kinkō's attention was pulled to that. Since it would be impossible to access the data inside of the device without Gate Guardian Hikaru being alive, who would be calling and why? Since Fuyuko was the one dealing with the denreishinki, Kinkō waited to see what was the plan going forward. The vice captain decided that she was going to take the device to the 12th division and she wanted him to accompany her while the other shinigami go with the 4th division team. "Very well."

When it was time to depart, he listened to Fuyuko giving the team journeying to the 4th safe wishes before she told him it was time to depart. "Right." When she disappeared with her shunpo, he did the same, heading to the 12th division.
